Don't waste time talking to the robot online - spectrum falsely claims you can make an appointment for service call online. Joke - almost as bad as the poor internet service
Avoid Spectrum at all cost. Their customer service is horrible, different representatives will say different things. They will lie through their teeth and take no responsibility for the BS that they put their customers through. We have had bad internet service for 3 years. Every time we call they would tell us to turn our router off and turn it back on. One day our bill went up by $20. We called to inquire and was told that we have been receiving their top package at a promotional price for 3 years. Now the promotion has run out and that is why we are being charged more. Well... we haven't had the best internet service to have been receiving their top package all this time? The rep told us it was because our equipment wasn't updated. We asked where were we suppose to get this equipment? Well... we were suppose to get it from THEM! So now the rep says they will get the equipment over to us before August 31,2022. Now it's Sept. 08,2022. We called today and now... our account can't be pulled up, yet they somehow have our information to draft from our bank account monthly.
I started paying only 50$... Now I pay close to 75$... Probably going to switch providers because we really should not have to pay this much for internet. :(
Spectrum has proved to be 100% worse than bright house. We have them over a year to get in shape. Enough is enough. We are officially switching to AT&T.
After almost a week later, I called back to see if they have talked to a "higher position person" as they called it concerning my mom account. The rep stated that nothing was listed on my account saying that he had to. That showed me that they DO NOT make any notes when they say they do. COMPLETELY DONE WITH SPECTRUM. I'D RATHER HAVE A FIRESTICK!
Customer Service with some phone representatives is AWFUL. I had a very unprofessional experience with a worker. After they debited my mom account THREE times without permission, I needed to know why. The rep basically called my mom a LIAR and stated that she was NOT billed. I was looking at her actual online statement at the time. It is OCTOBER, so why are you telling me you were debiting for AUGUST. That sounds very suspicious to me. If they do not change, they will definitely lose customers. I would rather pay a higher price with someone else who is LEGIT than spectrum. I would not recommend them to NO ONE! I wish they had a -1 star to hit. Spectrum is NOT the company to chose!
OMG the WORST! Ive been the CHARTER customer since 2014. They switched it to spectrum I don't know when(( recently my router stoped working and spectrum told me you better take our router and pay just $5/month for renting. What? I made 4 calls and all of them were saying to deal only with spectrum routers. $5x12 months=$60 (that's the router price!) I can use the router for 4 years at least. WTf? When the last guy told me that you have 3 hours to go get it for FREE it's close to my house, that's when I said ok and just bought mine from Amazon and called to Netgear to help me to instal. SPECTRUM MATHER $#*!ERS!
Called customer service for support laptop works cell phone works iPad works I could download things to that but I can't get my TV to download Netflix because it's too slow says there's interference but everything else works
I would give negative stars if I could. Under spectrum for quite a few years and my dad recently added internet and phone and it was the worst! When there was an issue with the phone spectrum claimed my dad's name wasn't on the account even though it should've been and they didn't have a problem cashing my dad's checks with his name on it or taking money from his account when it came to payments but with an issue they were so rude and hung up when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Just today the problem came up again and as I'm explaining the issue in frustration I believe the rep put me on speaker phone so her coworkers could laugh in the background at my problem. I could hear them thinking it was hilarious that a customer couldn't get phone service. That's what they think of people who pay for their services and keep them employed. The whole company needs to be shut down. There are so many other options out there. Go with any of them and you are almost sure to have a better experience then with spectrum.
If I could give zero stars, I would! In our area we are stuck with them because they are the only ones to offer cable TV. I put up with it for way too long and finally canceled my account. I was told when I dropped off my equipment that I had no further charges and then I get a bill for a full month of service. When I contacted them, they did not uphold what the customer service rep at the physical location told me and said they apologized for the "miscommunication". The last time I checked a lie was not a miscommunication. The person I was speaking with could tell I was extremely unhappy and showed their lack of customer support by responding with asking me if I wanted to pay that bill right now. I will NEVER have spectrum in my home again, they are scam artists that only care about money and not customers. I keep reading about all the people who were charge for a full month without any service after cancelling; this is quite a scam they have going! SPECTRUM=SCAM! Building my own package with other providers is still 50% of the price I paid spectrum. If you don't already have it, don't get it! The bill continues to rise and they lie about pricing. I would have no tv, internet or phone before going back!
I have been a caregiver for my grandmother for 2 years. I called because I work from home. Changed laptops today and wifi code did not work. Called spectrum and the first person told me "you purchased your router somewhere else, we can't help you" i explained Spectrum installed it a year ago when I started caring for my grandmother and needed to work from home. They treated me as though I was insane and said they had no record of their installation! I was here when that boy pulled up in the Spectrum truck and installed the Belkin box the folks I spoke with told me I was lying about. I became irate but held my composure when the young man said "we have been talking for 45 minutes, I am telling again, there is no WIFI charge for this household"... ugh! My gramma has been on Facebook, on wifi wayyy before I got here 3 years ago. She pays almost $200 a month from her social security income for telephone, cable and wifi! The guy on the phone kept playing Symantec's and was condescending when I explained I needed an explanation of why they have no record of the guy that came to install the Belkin router that they say is not theirs... discusting and sad that Spectrum has the corner on the market They installed this and now have no record of it!
Their phone agent's literally lied about the packages price he said that my bill won't go up for the next 2 years but after 2 or 3 months my bill went up
We paid for 400 mbs internet speed and we get 22mbs standing right next to their router. Customer service and tech services rating is ZERO not 1. Worthless liars. STAY AWAY
They claim to be better than a satellite dish, but it goes out every time it even hints of rain in my area. Constant buffering. $80 mo. For what? I constantly have to reboot. Not that that helps. It's not a dish but it pixelates whenever there is rain. Hasn't even had a real storm and it goes out. Colorbar flashes all-day. THE WORST CABLE TV IN HISTORY. DROPS INTERNET SERVICE HOURLY. CORRUPT CORRUPT CORRUPT. Someone needs to rid the earth of these parasites.
3 to 4 times a week Spectrum app completely crashes, and it's always the same time at night, As I work odd hours this is my free time, and time that I pay for and have for 30 years. When you call they say there is no outages in the area, then when you amp it up the rep says "It's a known issue and technician's are working hard to fix it. Only that is a robot response they are told to use. I have the chat saved where every single rep said exactly the same thing. Then when I complained that a rep took 4 hours to answer me, the next shift rep repeated the "it's a known problem" speech, only the app was not down at the time. They don't even look to see what the problem is. So as I have odd hours sometimes up to 50 percent of my paid TV does not work, Their advertising is a lie, and should be investigated by our representatives and the AG. They are not giving us the service they advertise, and don't even TRY to help or compensate their customers, and their service reps lie. When I call they ask if you are willing to do a survey, I always answer yes, but because they could not help, and not even try to help, they do not call back. Even their survey is fake
Thought I'd try saving a little money when my Directv contract expired and decided to try Spectrum. Already had their internet and phone service since 2001 and was bundled for many years with TV when they were still Charter. What a mistake. Install went fine, but it was at that time I was advised that if I am recording the two-show max on one of the DVR's, I had to actually be watching one of the shows. Not very convenient. Still, I was willing to try it out. Immediate problems. Multiple error codes when recording or deleting programs and the DVR was cutting every show off about one minute before it ended. I would have had to manually alter every recording, if I could find the management screen, to make it work, but then the possibility of conflicts with recording another show the next time slot on a different network could possibly result in the cancellation of the recording. Ridiculous. Took the 30-day money back option and learned that, although I was still keeping my internet and phone service, I was no longer Grandfathered in and would have to pay an extra $6 / month for the service because they "tweeked" my account to bundle my service. Now I have to renegotiate with Direct. Avoid the headache and avoid Spectrum.
Horrible experience with this company. Had to call over ten time to try to get things done correctly and things did not worked properly. After 8 hours of dealing with multiple departments and trying to get my cable to work, I cancelled cable the same day I was supposed to get it installed. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. AND now I have to drive the equipment to their office because they will not even pick it up.
$150.00 a month. Grey screen when changing channels. Lasts for 10+ minutes. Sometimes black screen on channels that I am supposed to get. The channels I dont get, pop right up with the "pay more to get this channel!" Message. No problem with that channel coming in. Back to the channel I pay for, NOTHING!. Call customer service. " maybe its your fault, try tightening the cable into the receiver stupid consumer".
I had cablevision for 20+ years in new york. Honestly can not recall any more than 3 issues in that entire time. Now $150/ month gets me at least 1 issue of complete disfunction with spectrum service. Internet not functioning, no channels. Always my fault. My brand new phone or computer must be the issue, even though nothing is getting service in the house. Lost service for 4 hours one day, then 3 hours later that week. I demanded to get refunded for that time. Go figure, they dont think they owe me for that time. Spectrum is a lie. All the advertising is a lie!
Hopefully they go out of business when North Carolina enters the 21st century and fiber optic becomes available.

If you are looking for a cable provider please do not consider Spectrum Formerly Known As Time Warner Cable they have very high prices, they are not concern for customer price range. The price starting at $100 only TV. They want you to bundle to get special offers. Cable boxes or high the remote doesn't work. Customer service always says I'm sorry there's nothing I can do. From the beginning I wish they would have said I'm sorry there's nothing I can do, but take your payment. This is the worse cable company ever. If you don't care about prices, then spectrum is for you, if you don't care about customer service, spectrum is for you, if you are looking for a low rate great promotions spectrum is not for you. You are offered promotions that you don't get. I believe that customer service is trying to lie two customers just to get them to sign up. I wish Time Warner Cable was still available. Spectrum is one of the worst Internet providers of ever had most the night the Internet won't work when I called to cancel they said I wouldn't have to of money now they're making me pay a month that I'm not with them
I have been a Spectrum Customer for over 6 years now and their customer service and price have become unacceptable. I constantly have issues with their advertised speeds, about half the time they don't come close. Every three to four months they have to send a tech to fix their dilapidated infrastructure and or have to replace my modem.
I have also been informed by a couple of different spectrum techs that have come to my house for work that have said spectrum has fiber all the way to the boxes outside my house but refuses to hook them up.
For Comparison... I pay $70 per month for an advertised 300 down and 10 up (and half the time this is not so). I also have another property in the same state but a different city, where I have Race Communication (a much smaller company). With Race i pay the Same ($70) but i get 1000 up and down with fiber internet.
Unfortunately, spectrum is the only internet provider in my area, so I am stuck paying their ridiculous prices for a service that is subpar at best! Please do yourself a favor and avoid moving into an area where spectrum has a virtual monopoly.
