I spent 20 minutes trying to give Spectrum money online. Done with it. I printed a check and will send it with a paper bill via USPS. They'll get it sometime.
The service is fine, but paying online, which I do, is impossible, as the name on our credit card isn't 'valid' and can't be edited. Website problem, but a big one to me, as paying bills, by check and online, is my job 24/7.
Google Fiber is now in our neighborhood and is tempting.
Is there something we can do about it? Other than writing these reviews which in and of themselves are starting to feel just as pointless as complaining to Spectrum, I don't know that there is anything can be or will be done. At least I have no other choice but to continue to eat their crap.
I can't believe that this company has a blanket raise across the country no matter if you lost your job or not of $5! In the middle of a pandemic! I called to ask about this and the agent was cold and very matter of fact that it is a raise for everybody in the United States because of more internet usage. No empathy. No suggestion of what other course of action. Just take it or leave it. Unfortunately, my town only had Spectrum as an option. Luckily, I am moving and I will not be using Spectrum again.
They raise prices like you and I change our socks and they do it without any notification. Their reps are as dumb as nails, I called 4 times and got four different answers to my issues. If you want to keep your money in your pocket stay away from Spectrum.
Been a customer since 2018. $49.99 guaranteed price after asking twice this is the price fast forward one year 69.00 then 8.5 months later 80.00 when asking for info on the constant increases, lame excuses like a lying wife... Never a clear reason or some seat of the pants scripted excuse on how to brush the customer from full phone melt down. Then this year double dipped me claiming I missed a month payment for the sum of 179.00. Enough was enough we can wave the late fee was their parting comment. Terrible service down a lot constant outages inconsistent download speeds throttling, and general f+curry in the billing. This was just for internet to watch sling TV mind you. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FOLKS ON FIXED INCOME.
The first of the year a new service contract went into effect at my mother's condominium complex. I called to order the equipment for her. After waiting 25 minutes on hold, a customer service rep told me the equipment would be shipped out. She was suppose to receive a TV box, modem, and wireless router. All she got was a TV box and router. No modem. Once again I called customer service. On hold again. Explained the situation to the customer service rep. Modem was suppose to arrive in 5 to 7 working days. Never showed up. Called again. Was told there was no record of the previous call. Once again was told the modem would arrive in 2 to 3 days. NEXT DAY, box arrived with another ROUTER! No modem. Called today, and customer service rep NICK, said a technician would deliver the modem tonight between 5 and 6pm. We'll see.
UPDATE: Spectrum tech arrived at 5:50 pm., with modem, and set it up. Took about an hour. Went home and poured myself a double.
I've been with Spectrum for many years and everytime I had an issue not pertaining to billing customer service was great. Recently I've been experiencing hardship and Spectrum was quick to suspend my wifi service. Upon calling them to see if an arrangement could be made, a representative in the Retention Dept. assured me that my service would be restored until next month. This morning I noticed that my service was slow. I called them again and they told me that the representative in Retention Dept. who I spoke with yesterday, was not supposed to restore my service and that he did not add any notes on to my account regarding the agreement that was made, therefore my account will remain suspended. The representatives I spoke with this morning were rude and spoke to me in a very condescending manner, making feel like the lowest of the low. I will differently search for another, more affordable, internet provider and I never want to hear from Spectrum again.
I have had numerous problems with spectrum service turning on. Waiting for over an hour for downloading initial application each time. I spend more wasted time not being able to watch TV, because I'm constantly either on the phone troubleshooting the problem or waiting, waiting, waiting for a picture on the screen. I can't take it anymore.
Very angry in Racine.
Why would you disconnect your set top boxes, then drive to a local spectrum store, and wait in line 45 minutes? According to spectrum, because you would rather stream their service.
What a joke! I returned my equipment to a spectrum store 12/30/21. After noticing I was still being billed in February 2022, I reached out to customer service to settle the issue and get a refund for the 2 months of service I clearly did not use. After trying to sell additional services for 36 minutes, spectrum decided at that point I really wanted to disconnect services and proceeded to let me know a refund of $344 dollars was not possible.
If I was to type all of the problems I've had to deal with including customer service lies, activation for cell phone, paid the phone off and can't get it unlocked for 60 days. Home internet and land line phone, the just decided to add Spectrum TV to my bill with out my permission and I had to pay it, 60 days later still waiting for a credit. This company needs massive help in customer service. Let me add their return policy also sucks.
Thank you Mr. Smith and Josh! Today Josh came out and not only fixed the issue he explained to me how everything flowed, therefore if there was ever another problem i could at the least troubleshoot at the lowest level; I appreciate that. He was quick and understood my frustration. Very professional and very sweet. Also Mr Smith, the director, came out and personally listened to what was going on. Unlike the manager i spoke to Mr Smith simply listened and let me know all would be taken care of. He was also very caring and made me feel my issue was important. Not only did I realize that Spectrum does have people that care, but the ones that do make an effort to take care of customers! Thank you Josh and Mr. Smith! You've turned this experience into a longer relationship with Spectrum.
I switched over to Spectrum earlier this year. They hiked up the prices and they have the worst services ever! I have had to call every week just for the automated system to "send a signal " to the devices. Then I finally got fed up and had a technician come out. Not even a week later everything, phone, cable, Internet went out. I call the customer service as usual and you get the substandard service where they ask you stupid questions like, "is the box on, did you unplug it and plug it back in"? I swear they are obviously not putting money in qualified techs. Then I speak to the manager who made it seem like it was my problem and kept speaking over me until I turned into she devil. I pay almost 200 dollars a month and I can't even get internet at a decent speed! I wish I would have went on here before I got their service. Please stay away from this company! They are the worst ever!
Once again "OFFLINE"
We came into the office on Tuesday morning and found that our internet was out. Called and went through "troubleshooting" with the Spectrum tech who told us that we needed a service engineer. We were told that our case was expedited. We called back several times as no one got back to us. We were told that an engineer is going to come the next day between 3-4PM! No one could change the time, bring forward the appointment or get in touch with any supervisor to try and get our internet fixed as we can't see patients!
We are so disappointed. What terrible service. Not much competition in our little town for high-speed internet. It is such a scam.;/
I had the business service at two locations. One location works flawlessly, and the other gets dropped at least five times a day. Worked with the company for over a year trying to get the line fixed. They dug it up twice! Nothing ever fixed the dropouts. I went with a different provider and all the issues stopped completely. Can't believe I wasted so much time and money trying to make Spectrum work. I have two kids that are using the new connection for gaming and it is a wireless provider, yet it has yet to drop their connection.
I have been with this company since they came to our area, over 10 years ago. Our bill double to almost $300.00. Called to see if they had any deals and was told they don't do that anymore. Tried to get the bill lowered and was told i have the best plan it will never expire. Tried to explain i was a senior trying to get my bills lowered, the spectrum told me to get roku. They were no help. Need to find a new company. Been with this cable company since 1986 and 4 different company changes. Bye bye Spectrum.
They charge for equipment, then blame customer their device not working. Even when paying they charge for their device modem/router/a service fee when there new equipment doesn't work as promised, and charge customers a tech fee, many disruptions, its never their fault but the customers equipment a complete scam! Just greed! Never helps the community, nothing but lies, and blames customers, paid yrs extra for high speed internet that has many interruptions, can't down grade, no accountability for their bad service!
Congratulations Spectrum, you are best of the worst#1
I own a rental house that the current tenant had Spectrum install service. There already was cable run into the downstairs and upstairs, but this Spectrum installer ran a new cable around the outside of the house on 3 sides, drilling and fastening the cable through vinyl siding. Then when he got to the far side he ran the cable up the side and then back across the middle of the house, drilling holes to hold the cable and finally drilled through the wall into the upstairs. Area. It's an incredible mess having this black cable hanging on 3 sides of the house on almond colored siding.
I don't know how anyone could be so stupid and not look or use the existing cable. I'm looking to sue these morons in small claims court. They deserve a no star rating!
The question should be, how come a company with such a terrible customer service is still around. You can read ANY of the reviews posted on different customer sites and they are at least 80% bad.
Why is the government (with all their regulations) still permit that company to operate
That franchise. They bought out Verizon with a 90% rating of "good" and completely
Ran it to the ground. We have to re-boot the DVR at least once a week, and we have
Already had two ex-changed. Is some greased money going from hand to hand?
I recently called Spectrum because I moved and I only wanted Internet. (Well, after 3 times of a no show, 1 late tech, I finally got Internet. They are my only option). Sales tech talked me into phone service at $85.00 per month because I told him mine was cheap. I specifically asked if it was unlimited and he said that it was. They never sent me a bill or anything so I finally called them to find out when I had to pay my $85.00 bill. The Rep said I owed over $1,000! I was in shock! Apparently they said I was not on unlimited. I not only had problems with the Internet service being installed (which took 1 month!), but now they won't help me at all.
There is a spectrum utility box in front of my church it is severely damage. I have reach out to spectrum on multiple occasion, I have let numerous messages no one will return a phone call. I'm sure if I was trying to start a new service I would get a call back. I haven't had spectrum in years and after this experience I would not have them nor recommend them to anyone. I'm sure that box will stay as is until some child gets hurt.
Ive been living in Alabama for 2 months now and Ill be damn they make sure the damn Alabama game is on. On three occasions Ive been wanting to watch the Georgia game and they always want to service their stations at that time. Hell, but once the damn Alabama game come on the channel is up and running with no problems. I do not recommend spectrum if your anything but an Alabama fan. Roll f****** tide my a**. Go Damn Dawgs
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
Spectrum has a rating of 1.4 stars from 1,942 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Spectrum most frequently mention customer service, billing cycle and cable box. Spectrum ranks 53rd among Cable Television sites.
