Made a Christmas purchase of a present for my daughter. Successfully (I thought) used a Shop.ca incentive, along with a PayPal incentive on the purchase, AND BOTH CREDITS WERE LISTED ON MY ORDER SUMMARY, only to have PayPal take a different amount out of my bank account (only honoured one of the incentives). Both claim that once the first incentive was applied (the lower one), the second didn't qualify. Continued to suggest I read the 'Terms & Conditions'. Strange that Shop.ca obviously didn't understand them either, as both were applied in the summary of charges e-mailed to me after the transaction! 2+ weeks and numerous e-mails and calls with both, and still no resolution. Brutal Customer Service.

I recently received a shop.ca card in the mail and decided to check them out with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB gives them an "F" rating based on the issues with the following: Advertising/Sales; Billing/Collection; Delivery; Guarantee/Warranty; Products/Service and Failure to Respond to Customer Complaints.

Best to stay away from this one.

Purchased some Petro Canada Card from Shop.ca. Returned the cards right away because they were not what I wanted.
They refuse to give me back a credit or a refund, or even return the cards.

Fantastic! Bought a carseat that rarely goes on sale, was able to apply the $50 paypal and shop.ca credit, plus was able to google a coupon code for an additional $10 off.

WILL NEVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN! I ordered items in early December under a PayPal promotion. When I paid, the promo was not applied. I called customer service for 3 days straight, holding for hours, or getting voicemail, trying to get the promo applied. I finally gave up and emailed customer service to cancel my order. I was told that the items had already shipped and that I had to return them once I received them. It took them 2 weeks to send me the shipping labels (after sending several follow-up emails). It is now MARCH and I still have not received my full refund on the items I returned. Nobody answers the phone. And emails take longer than snail mail. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't waste your time and money on these people.

Wow I should of read reviews before ordering from here, you can't reach these people at all I ordered from them but I wanted to cancel my order, so hours hours after I finally get them but than they make a mistake! I had two items I wanted canceled they only refunded me for one of the items, now I have to try again to reach them again! Which won't be easy for sure, why have a live chat thing on their site when you can't even get someone on there either! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE never again buying from them. STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THIS SITE I'M WARNING YOU SHOP ELSE WHERE!

Okay, I finally got my ESSO Gift Cards... Here is my time-line of what happen. You be the judge!

On November 26,2017. I ordered QTY "2" ESSO Gift Cards. It is suppose to arrive 10-15 business days.
On December 18,2017. I send a first e-mail asking what going on.
On December 21,2017. I send my 2nd e-mail asking the same question.
On December 23,2017. I send my 3rd e-mail asking please give me an reply.
Today, December 28,2017. I decided enough is enough. At around 11AM today, I called my VISA. I put in a dispute on the translation. VISA said I will get refunded. At 12:27 PM, I send an final e-mail to shop.ca asking them to cancel my order and I advised them I called VISA.
Now, Get this. On 2:15 PM today. About 1 and a half hour after my final email, I got my eGIFT cards in my e-mail.
Then at 2:59 PM, some 30 minutes later, I got a reply back from them with this."This was already fulfilled please advise that you saw your giftcard."

I won't even call VISA back to cancel the dispute! To save $15 per $100 and go though all this trouble? I don't know people. You be the judge on this one!

If shop.ca see this, please cancel my order! I just got off the phone with VISA. I will be credit it back! I ordered same kind of Gift cards 2 years ago from shop.ca. Never had issues. Fast to response back then, I understand they went though bankruptcy at some point. Whoever took over this business really screwed this up! For people that trying to find there contact number here it is: (855) 474-6722. Good luck looking though there website! Then again, good luck getting anyone to answer the call either! Will never shop here again!

Just an update, I ordered 2 ESSO E-Card on November 26. Today is December 28. I already send 3 e-mail to this company! No reply! Nothing! I called there contact numbers! BTW which is very hard to find! They hide there contact number pretty well! What I got? I got a recording telling me to e-mail them! Forget it! I done with this Bullshit! I calling my VISA!

I ordered QTY "2" Esso Gift Card or eCard on the 26 of November. It say it will take 10 to 15 business days to get it on your e-mail. It is December 21, and I still get nothing! I check on there website. All it say is Order received! I send an e-mail asking for it 3 days ago! No reply. I give them till after new year, if I heard nothing. I will just call VISA! After looking at all the negative reviews! Screw this. I be amaze if this company still around next Christmas!

I ordered a Chordbuddy Jr guitar system for my niece and nephew a couple of weeks ago, after never having heard of Shop.ca before. They offered the best price I could find on the web, and NO SHIPPING PENALTY FOR LIVING IN CANADA. However, after I placed the order, I read the reviews on this site and was mortified. I thought I'd probably never see that little guitar. Well, the guitar arrived at my house 4 business days later. In perfect condition, packaged well so no shipping damage. I told my neighbour about it, and she asked me to order one for her, too. I received the "Your item has shipped" notice the next day, so the second guitar should be here by Monday. Maybe I just got lucky. Not sure. But the number of horrible reviews on here (including some that just say "they don't provide enough details on the merchandise") makes me think there might be a competitor out there submitting false reviews. I would certainly recommend Shop.ca from my experience. I especially appreciate a company that has taken the initiative to broker online shopping for Canadians; if I had ordered this item through a local supplier, instead of being $157, it would have cost another $70 minimum for shipping and customs brokerage fees. That's inexcusable, but it's what we Canadians have been putting up with forever. I will be shopping at Shop.ca again for sure.

Spent hours navigating their awful site (poor layout, poor search capability) with the intent to "shop smart" by using some promotional money they gave to me - in exchange for tweeting for them, and also from visiting a Raptors game. Ordered a pair of waterproof headphones. 3 weeks later, the order was canceled, emails go unanswered and my time was wasted. Worst online retail experience I've ever had. Stay away. Instead, order from a retailer that honours their promotions and provides some semblance of customer service.

Also ordered some clothing items, those orders were all cancelled with no explanation (but canceled immediately and fairly, so I don't think it's fair to judge on those transactions).

The one purchase I did receive, was some parts from a reputable automotive supplier that I have done business with in the past. Shop.ca offered a much better return policy (1 year, no cost), but I so seriously doubt that I would have been able to return anything via shop.ca (due to their completely invisible and non-responsive customer service) that all I seem to have done was paid a premium to shop from a middle man. I will shop directly from the retailer from now on, there is no benefit to shopping at shop.ca.

I have ordered multiple items from other sites, and have not received one single problem.

Shop.ca has been one of the worst experiences I have encountered and I would avoid them if I were you, unfortunately I did not check the reviews that would of steered me away.

I ordered two pairs of converse size 9 and a half. I received two pairs of size 7's. I received one pair two weeks prior to receiving the other pair and I gave it a try. It was a little bit of grass stain on it but I wanted to return it because I could feel it was too small when I was walking outside.

I just got an email today that they declined my return because of damage. They could of washed the shoe but regardless they made the stupid error, of which, I have never experienced before. If this place was any good I would of been able to keep the size 7 and be shipped the right size.

Awful place, avoid this place even if cost seem to save you $20. It is truly not worth the hassle that will likely occur making a purchase from www.shop.ca

I have been a online shopper of amazon.ca/com for years and was really satisfied with it services. But as Canadian I sure would LOVE to support a native Canadian company. But soooo wrong with SHOP.CA! It just won't give itself a chance for me to continue to do so.

I have a credit of close to $200 from SHOP.CA from Sept 2015. This month (Mar 2017) I intended to use it to purchase an item from SHOP.CA. However, I was unable to locate it as a payment option at checkout.

On requesting customer service, I was told my credit could not be honored due to management change in July/August 2016! The best they can do is to give me a credit of $26.72, which is 20% of my original store credit.

After many email exchanges with my voicing that is an unfair business practice, as a customer I was not informed of such impact due to its management change, let alone given options for responses. This business practice is penalizing customers for their loyalty and invite bad reputation. But all my effort ended up in vain! I must say the management change certainly did not make its business any better and it just lost another customer. Companies like this should not be in existence, like many other customers have already expressed.

So PLEASE stay away from SHOP.CA despite what your noble intention is. Yes, it is that BAD!

We understand your concern here and your skepticism. However you also have to understand that the $200 you paid was paid to the original owners of the company and not the new management company. Therefore, how can we give you that $200 which we never got in the first place?

We actually had to start from scratch to build relationships with our customers and vendors again. Our suggestion to you would be to file a chargeback with your credit card company and get all your money back that way.

We would love your support and in an effort to resolve your grievance, we can offer $50 in credits. Please let us know if you accept this. Also, please provide any proof that you received said credits from Shop.ca.

This is absolutely a scam. They haven't been in the 70 Peter St. Address in over a year. You can't contact them in any way. I bought some gift cards and I can't use them.

We had ordered Esso gas gift cards & hadnt received them. This constituted my first review here. Unable to speak with a representative the only option was email. We exchanged emails with Shop.ca 6 times in a space of a few days. They took the time to send 6 emails explaining why they didnt have the time to send one email containing the gas cards. Interestingly, when the 10-15 days that were specified by Shop.ca for receiving our order had passed we were told
In our last email there was no promise that the cards would be sent out, just a statement that the processing period for your order has ended. Apologies if this was unclear. When we said cancel our order we still had to wait. Eventually we did receive our refund. A few days later we received an email with, surprise, Esso gas gift cards, promptly followed by an email stating there had been an error & to please disregard the earlier email. Thankfully this whole episode ended with no moneys lost but we still would rather have the gas cards. Based on our experience we would strongly recommend that people avoid this site!

Wish I'd read this page before ordering. We ordered 2 Esso gas cards on October 21st. Received a tracking number but each time I check there has been no change in the status. Sent an email & did receive a reply basically telling us to be patient. Checked & found out that our credit card has been charged so they've had our money for 2 weeks now. How tough is it to send out a couple of gift cards! I think we'll be getting in touch with our credit card company!

3 days ago I received an email solicitation from PayPal to shop with Shop.ca. By signing up with Shop.ca, I would receive $25 sign-up credit from Shop.ca and another $25 credit from PayPal for paying with PayPal. I was supposed to be able to apply both credits in my first purchase of $100 or more. However, during the check-out process, after I have chosen the PayPal payment option, I was unable to apply the $25 Shop.ca credit. I phoned Shop.ca to get the $25 credited to my first purchase retroactively but no one answered the phone. I email Shop.ca but a day later no one answered my email. I filed a complaint to PayPal but PayPal said it's not their problem. Finally I got an email from the CEO of Shop.ca who then directed the team leader of the customer support department of Shop.ca to help me to resolve the problem. I am very relieved that I finally get all the credits applied to my purchase.
It appeared that Shop.ca is doing really well recently in their sales and their customer support department is overwhelmed by the huge increase in customer requests as a consequence. Thus the non-answering of phone calls and slow response of emails. Hopefully Shop.ca fix this problem a. S.a. P.

I ordered a patio set that was advertised at a huge discount appeared to be a great deal and Free Shipping pasted all over the ad. I placed the order and then received a call from the supplier asking where I lived because shipping was going to be very high. The supplier confirmed that the product was available. After waiting about 2 weeks I responded to Shop.ca to determine what was happening with my order. I received an email back informing me that the product was not available and the order had been cancelled despite the fact that it was already charged to my credit card. I called the merchant back and was informed the patio set was in fact still available. I responded to Shop.ca with this information and got a run-around. I copied and pasted the ad that was still on their website for this patio set including Free Shipping prominent in the ad. I then received another email stating abruptly that Shop.ca has a policy Apologies for the late reply. The order was advertised as free shipping but as per policy Shop.ca reserves the right to cancel any orders for special reasons, such as extremely high shipping costs. We apologize sincerely for the prior miscommunication. As far as I am concerned this is false advertising. Will never shop on this site again.

We apologize for the inconvenience but there was in fact no false advertising just that you never read the advert clearly.

If you go t the deal link here: https://shop.ca/deal/3295511 and click on"Shoipping Details" the article says the following:

"Our free shipping policy also has some small exceptions, like if you are purchasing an over sized, high-value or fragile product, but don’t worry, we will always let you know in advance of placing your order if special shipping rates apply."

We informed you of the extra rate and you refused to pay for it therefore we could not honor the order. It makes no sense that an item you paid $1000 for would be delivered to you for $600. Also, by the way, you gave us an address for a PO Box and based on our vendor's experience those usually get returned back.

In any case, Shop.ca does reserve the right to cancel your order but we did our job by informing you before hand and you have not read the policies around shipping.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

They don't ship when they say they will, and when I contacted them to cancel the order (cause the supplier hasn't even started to ship a full week AFTER expected arrival- which is 3 weeks after I paid them) I was told they had to contact the supplier to cancel the order and that I MIGHT get a cancellation confirmation OR I might have to wait for the item to arrive (whenever that might be) and then I'm welcome to return the merchandise for free. Ain't that nice. ABSOLUTE CRAP!

I ordered from these guys and took advantage of free shipping promo they had, it took for ever to arrive. I asked to return the item so they charged me for shipping and deducted it from the return.
