On October 23, I ordered food through Grubhub. I had instructions listed in the delivery notes section with my door code. I understand that things happen, but the driver did not bother to call and say he was having trouble. Instead, he tossed my food on top of mailboxes downstairs and marked it as delivered. I contacted Grubhub because I do not feel I should pay a tip for that kind of service. They promised a $5 credit that I never received. When I tried to contact them again, the agent was extremely rude. With the cost of delivery so high as it is, I will never use this service again. I cancelled my membership and although most companies at least give you until the expiration date of your membership, this company ends it straight away, keeping the money you spent if you had a year long membership. It doesn't matter because I refuse to buy anything else from them, but still, poor customer service, poor delivery experience and sketchy practices concerning membership.
I am a restaurant GM, and Grubhub keeps sending me incorrect orders and allowing their customers to leave MY place of business bad reviews! If you are ordering through Grubhub, be very careful before leaving a complaint, as more than likely the issue lies with their own website.
Also, their customer service sucks! When faced with evidence of their poor practices, I was told the decision to remove incorrect reviews was up to a different department.
Business owners, think twice about using grubhub.
I have never received an order from grub hub without it being delayed at least 2-3 times adding an additional 45 min to 1 hour on the estimated delivery. Despite the fact I live only 10-15 min away from major restaurants. Not worth it unless you want to order your meal 2 hours ahead of time, like it cold and 3 times the normal price
We've had bad experiences before but this one takes the cake. Ordered Three - 3 piece chicken tender meals from KFC. We only received one meal with 2 tenders in it, customer service gave us the run around and the driver didn't want to get out in the rain to come to our door so he called us and said "I'm here". It was clear on his phone that he was supposed to have 3 meals but he had zero concern about that and happily left with his undeserved tip... We have spent our last dollar with this service.
Then the grubhub app disabled our ability to rate our service. After giving us back only 16 of the 20 dollars spent... nd it's going to take 5 days to get that back... Never again.
Seamless... A joke
I placed an order at 8:12 this morning for 12:30 delivery for my wife who comes home to eat everyday and just got a text saying that it will be late with the estimated delivery time being 12:56 to 1:06. She gets a half hour lunch and I thought a nice hot lunch she didn't have to rush to prepare would be a nice surprise. Even with the order confirmed at 10:02 am, they still can't deliver food on time with a 2.5 hour window. Now she'll be making a sandwich again, and I wasted $22 with tip. I'll never use GrubHub again.
I ordered lunch the night before I work in a hospital and wanted my food at a certain time. Well 5 messages later a lunch that should've arrived at 8:30 all of a sudden last message said I will get it by 11, are you freaking kidding me. I called chipotle and I was told my food was on the counter for 2 hours I didn't want to bother requested money back please don't use GrubHub do the other ones if you want your order and on time. If I could give it zero star I would
This was the very first time I used any delivery service because I am ill and out of town in a hotel. I never received the food. Their help line was helpful and gave me a full refund, including my rather generous tip, plus a $10 coupon (which I will never use) - but wth!? Just read the damn address & deliver the food or get out of the business. I will NEVER use them again and recommend you don't either.
P.S. ZERO stars should be an option.
Took me an hour of screaming and threatening to go thru the bank to get the first two refunded. Initially tried to offer me a 20% credit on my next order instead of the price I paid. Absolutely not. I went to pick up the third one after the driver was sitting no where near the restaurant for 30 minutes. Got my delivery fee refunded and closed my account. Will never use this service again.
Food arrived punctually but was missing half the order. Contacted them and was told they cannot send another driver that they will refund me. I told them half the people are clocked out on their lunch break waiting for the food. No F%@KS were given. Would not recommend this service. Use any other service (postmates or uber eats).
Most restaurants don't take Grubhub orders so the company has to call them in themselves. I found no way to make substitutions or changes on any of my orders via the app. The estimates are always wildly inaccurate. Once one of my drivers traveled from 40 miles away to deliver my order. Seriously. I got GrubHub premium for free from Instacart and now I see why.
Delivery driver SHY was completely rude disrespectful. Did not follow instructions given online or via text message. Left food on bench and said $#*! for asking her to bring to my door!
And did not wear a MASK!
I work for a dining group and our restaurants regularly show up on GrubHub's app and website as delivery options through their service. They post outdated, incorrect menus, then allow customers to order from them, pay, and be left either with food that doesn't match their incorrect menus or no food at all. Our restaurants receive no payment from GrubHub whatsoever, so this is stealing from businesses, and this has happened multiple times. Please don't support GrubHub, either as a business or as a consumer.
This is for Grubhub and all other food delivery services out there except Uber Eats. Why do you have an option to leave a note when nobody EVER reads them? I travel for work every week and order a lot to my hotel and always ask for napkins and utensils and 99% of the time I don't get them. Take the notes option out because nobody reads them or cares. Uber Eats actually has a box to check for utensils. I'm done giving third and forth chance to these services. We need a delivery service that cares about the business travelers.
Multiple Partners have complained that our instant pay feature is not working. I haven't been able to add a debit card for a week now. I've tried 11 different debit cards. Six of them I used on grubhub previously. I'm not understanding why our instant pay feature doesn't work when there is so many people that need it #Grubhub
So I order two salads and two drinks I put very distinctive directions on the order the driver is still can't find it. She doesn't know where she's at, so I have to drive to where she's at to get my food only to find out that there's no drinks! I come home I call the restaurant they gave her my drinks! So apparently she stole them! Not the first time it's happened! I did get a full refund. But I will never use GrubHub ever ever again they are terrible the drivers don't speak read or understand any English, but yet they're delivering orders in the United States of America! How does that make sense?
Grubhub will always blame the restaurant even when it their inability to deliver. It was a good service but has lost its ability for accuracy and delivering on time. Too bad but luckily there are plenty of other services that can provide the same service, on time, and accurately!
Grubhub once more a disaster. Watched on app as driver made multiple pickups and stops, resulting in my meal being delivered cold and very late. Grubhub customer service solution is credit toward future meal. I'd rather take back my tip and delivery fee! Guess I'm a DoorDash customer now.
We ordered our food at 7 PM and were told that it should arrive in 40 to 50 minutes. It's hard times, so we tipped the driver extra. The food got pushed back, literally between an hour and a half and now an hour and 45 minutes later—even though the food was ready 30 mins after ordering. Where the hell is our driver? He's not responding to text messages or phone calls. When we called customer service, while I was happy to get our order refunded after the agent offered us a $10 credit (are you serious? It's date night and Friday night and we paid money for this food, we would like our dinner), we at least got the amount refunded. But the food? No idea where that is. It's 9 PM and we're hungry. First world problems you might say, but the reality is this is a service that were paying for. GrubHub, get your act together.
We were given 2 gift cards for GrubHub by friends who wanted to help us during a medical crisis. Unfortunately, we live too far away from the metro area to use GrubHub in our home town. I finally had the opportunity to order through GrubHub for a meal at our daughter's house today. I am shocked and appalled that the total order added on $30+ "service fee" plus tax and a delivery fee. By the time I added a tip for the driver, we basically paid for the entire meal ourselves and the gift cards were wasted by the additional fees that GrubHub charges. These gift cards were supposed to be a blessing to help us through challenging times and left nothing but bad feelings about the money that others WASTED while believing they where helping us. Don't waste your money on GrubHub gift cards! Just give someone the cash or buy a generic Visa gift card instead... those are actually useful anywhere.
So I signed up for their monthly subscription since we order a lot at work. The kept putting charges on my orders that this was supposed to eliminate which took up time to fix. The multiple times the food was not delivered. This is the picture they sent providing proof. I think it ended up by the side of the road. Which again required time on the phone. I have never had a problem with Door Dash. Quit my subscription.
Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.
