The Worst
September 26, 2019

I was looking forward to relaxing after a day out of town. Get back to my airbnb with my husband and decide to order using Grubhub. This was our first experience using the service, and we were in a very populated city mind you. I put the order in at around 11:25pm-ish. The order was received by TacoBell. After waiting the allotted time, there was nothing on the map. Then my order was delayed and waited another 30 minutes. I finally saw the driver pop up on the map and saw they got to TacoBell. The driver was there for over 10 minutes. It was probably close to 20-25 minutes before they left TacoBell and drove in the opposite direction of my address. Then after another 5-10 minutes I got an email for Grubhub saying my order had been canceled. What. The. Heck. I waited over 1 hour 30 minutes for flipping TacoBell... and never got it. Why was it canceled? Why did the driver go to the location, stay for so long and then leave? Now my husband and I are stuck eating granola bars before hitting the sack. What a great vacation... I will NEVER use Grubhub again. And I will tell everyone to NEVER use it either. It says I will get a refund, and I hope so after all that. I see may negative posts on here and I'm surprised this company is still in business. If you want food fast, call in your order or go to fast food yourself!

My food is always late when I order from here

The customer service reps always say they will do something that they never do.

I've had to pay for food that a driver sat in the car in a random parking lot for 20 minutes after he picked it up and they treated me like it wasnt a valid reason for a refund.

The reps have no customer service skills what's so ever.

Everytime I call, the reps ask me completely different verification questions.

FOOD IS ALMOST ALWAYS LATE STALE AND A WASTE.

So I decided to apply to be a driver, because I felt it was needed. I have great customer service, I used to drive for Postmates and used to make hundreds in tips a night. And they immediately said they weren't looking for drivers at the time due to the low volume of users. When simultaneously, I was waiting on food that should of arrived almost an hour ago.

Spoke to the restaurant and they said my food has been prepared. Another $50 of food that will arrive stale and go into the trash, that they will not refund me.

These delivery services are beyond terrible.

Horrible

Used GrubHub for the first time today ordered my food at 8:15pm from Five Guys and got a call from the restaurant to tell me the food has been done and is waiting for a driver to pick it up around 9:10pm, I call GrubHub for them to tell me there was no driver available the dude on the phone found a driver at 9:30pm and I didn't get my food until almost 10pm. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Got the 1st order, the last 3 never made it to my doorstep. Their response? Your banned, because we think you are a thief. I have proof Doordash, Slice, and Uber eats struggle to get to my house even though they always make it to tell me in person. My location isnt difficult, secluded, or require instructions for entry, all the houses just look the same which was enough to fool Grubhub somehow with only 1 of those drivers taking a picture for verification. No one can tell whose porch its on without it or the house number in the picture. Even my neighbor on a completely different street is aware because he got all my food. I had COVID and in an attempt to be responsible and not leave the house, I starved half a day waiting for food that never arrived. I Call customer service for them to tell me they will fix it and they didnt. Called again to find out my ban is unappealable. $#*! Grubhub. They probably dont know I'm black, but the assumption with no proof that I'm stealing from them infuriates me. I saved the pictures drivers took so I can find which porch they been leavin my food by comparing background items in these pictures. (The first picture is the very first order that made it, the text afterwards is the second order that didnt make it with no picture either.

Without a doubt Grubhub is the most convenient thing of it's kind. But on more than one occasion, I've paid a pretty penny for an order was late, and something was missing or incorrect. Not sure if Grubhub is to blame, or the restaurant. But everytime I've used door dash, it seemed to be cheaper, with unbeatable timing and the food was always on point. This most recent experience with Grubhub, the food never arrived at all. I was at work and had an order sent to the address where my fiancée was working. The order was running late, which I wasn't surprised. My fiancée was working outside the entire time, but never saw a driver pull up. They left me a missed call and email, which I noticed about 20 minutes later since I was working. From there I called customer service, and they mostly tried to put fault on me for "not answering my phone". For one, the driver never showed up. And even if he did, why would he peel off without ever coming to the door? The woman I spoke with kept assuming I had the driver waiting, and he couldn't get a hold of me. I couldn't get it to sink in that nobody showed up, period. On the upside, she was quick to refund my order with equivalent Grubhub credit, so I can't complain on that.

I ordered from Hoboken Pie. Hoboken makes a great slice! I tried to order before and the order was cancelled on us after more than an hour waiting for our pizza to be delivered. You know why? SXSW... well hello! A delivery site should know if a world renowned festival is going to affect their delivery capabilities or not right? After all that is their only function. OK so after having to find another dinner for my family at 9pm they gave me a whole $7 promo code for a future purchase... because that makes it better right? No. So I try again. The track my order function on their site is useless, not in real time at all. After half an hour of "my order is in the works" I start a chat with grubhub that tells me the order has reached the restaurant and should be here by the estimated delivery time. So i finally get my order about an hour after the initial order. Not bad for a delivery service, except the awesomeness that is Hoboken pizza is a complete disgrace. It's cold and soggy... ie TERRIBLE! GRUB HUB FAIL! Never Again..

To begin, I ordered a $2.49 2 Liter of Dr. Pepper, a create your own pizza which was supposed to have just one topping of bacon on it, large fries and Tiramisu. Now I realize that GrubHub does not make the food, however, i'm paying them to make sure that what I ordered is what's delivered. After receiving a call from the driver because he wasn't certain of my location, I watched him drive in circles for 20 minutes before reaching out to me again. By then even though I told him multiple times turn now, he still was so focused on a landmark that he couldn't actually hear me say, "Turn Now". When he arrived he handed me a bag of food and proceeded to get in his vehicle. I then asked if I was going to receive my drink that I ordered. He surprisingly said yes and proceeded to hand me a bag of 4 can's of Dr. Pepper. 4 x 12 = 48. However, a 2 Liter holds 68 ounces. So I paid for 20 ounces more than what I received. And of coarse my Tiramisu was instead cheesecake. The worst part was my pizza was cold and did not have a single piece of bacon on it. I paid for a lot of things I didn't get and I waited for almost 2 hours to get it. That was officially my first and absolutely my last time ever using GrubHub. I will not recommend to anyone. Unreal, but I guess it's cheap for a reason and even so it's still too expensive.

Last night I ordered pizza from Boss Pizza and I'm watching the map for the GH driver cause I have gates I need to open. 2 minutes before the driver gets to my house I open the gates and wait outside for them. All of a sudden the app said food delivered! No car around! I call GH and all they say is will cancel your order and refund your money! I said NO WHERE IS MY FOOD? They called the driver NO answer. GH you are awful and so are your people. THANK YOU BOSS PIZZA FOR REMAKING MY FOOD and only charging me for one pizza. So nice and ill be picking up my own food from now on. F U GH

This company sucks! They charge a bunch of money for consistently late deliveries by over 2 hours. DO NOT USE GRUBHUB EVER! I hope this company and its investors crash and burn sooner than later!

I HaveTried Them Twice. The first time the app changed the address and zip code automatically and they never apologized and I got my food extremely late and stone cold. The Service Sucked. I finally tried them again about 2 years later. I changed and put in the correct address again. I watched the app car tracker & after it said it was on it's way, the car never moved for 17 minutes. The it went the wrong way. The driver called me finally from a number that identified from clear across the country. I thought it was one of those Robot Calls. Finally after a very very long time I called the driver from the app, because I checked and the address switched again completely. I told the driver and waited. An an hour & 15 minutes have gone by now. Finally I get a call from his boss. Now I speak 2 languages and I am very used to dealing with people how are speaking with a heavy accent. No worries I'm patient. Well the boss was extremely hard to understand. He also called from a number from clear across the country but this time I answered because of before. He informed me that they would not be bringing me our dinner at Call. It now had been an hour and 40 minutes. But I could start the process all over again. He was very rude and I wouldn't get my money back for 5 business days. This was a Special occasion on a Friday Evening. Now We didn't have enough money in our account to have dinner. Other Times We've used DoorDash and They are Fast, Kind & The Food arrives Piping Hot & Fresh. I deleted The GrubHub App!

Ordered the food through grubgub from Applebee's. 2 samplers. Both came without the spinach dip. Called grubhub and they contacted Applebee's. Applebees confirmed the price of their spinach dip. I get a refund of $0.89 for each. WOW! THE ORDER FOR TWO SAMPLERS WAS $50. I'M LESS ONE ITEM OUT OF 4 X'S TWO SAMPLERS AND GET LESS THAN A $2 REFUND. JUST WOW.

Never again. My experience with Grubhub was infuriating. My order kept getting delayed, and I ended up waiting for hours. When I contacted customer service, they initially offered me a measly $5 credit towards my next order. After persistently requesting a refund and for my order to arrive promptly, I was transferred to a supervisor named Loren M. She kept gradually increasing the credit offer up to $20–in between, stating "$10 is our max." During our conversation, there was a back-and-forth about a credit vs. a refund. I made it clear that I wanted a refund, not just a credit for a future order. Initially, despite my repeated requests for a refund, Loren M. Continued to insist on offering credits. She eventually stated she would issue the refund of $20, then seconds later said she sent a credit—neither of which, ever occurred. Additionally during this back and forth, she stated initially I could not cancel my order. Even though I had already told her repeatedly, I did not want my order cancelled. Loren then flips the script once again stating she's not going to issue a refund or credit, at all. While we're discussing the latest inconsistency, I get a notification that Grubhub cancelled my order. She cancelled my order, without my consent, denied even cancelling it, and when challenged with the fact I was just notified of such, she admitted it was cancelled but shifted the blame to the person I initially spoke with—her subordinate. This entire ordeal, with now no food and no delivery options open in the area at 9 pm, left me furious. It was probably the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered, especially in dealing with a supposed supervisor. I made it clear that I would escalate this matter to Grubhub's highest levels and share my experience publicly. And I will continue on in that regard until something is done.

I placed an order with GrubHub which I immediately canceled due to the wrong card being used. I then reordered using the correct card. Needless to say I've received two duplicate orders one of which I sent back to the store. There is no customer service number on the app. All I could do was "CHAT" WITH GOD KNOWS WHO MACHINE OR WHAT! I only discovered a number to call when I got a text asking how my delivery was. Needless to say after talking with the customer service agent and a supervisor I could not get my money refunded to the one card. I only kept one meal I should have only been charged for one meal. I got the same generic answer from chat, customer service agent, and supervisor verbatim! We are sorry but it shows that both orders have been fulfilled so we cannot credit the one card back! Food was terrible service was terrible overall this is the worst food delivery app I have ever encountered. Every time I have ordered there's been a problem needless to say I have deleted the app! And I'm going to dispute the charge with my bank! Buyer beware!

I've been using Grubhub for several years, and have generally had quite positive experiences, but their friend referral program sucks. The program is described like this: refer a friend; friend has to make an order of over $15 before tax, delivery fee, tip, etc.; friend gets to apply a $12 promo code on that first order; then "up to four days later" you receive a code via email for your own $12 discount.

Almost two weeks went by after my friend made a first order and was able to apply the $12 discount to it, and I never got my code. I contacted Grubhub and they told me that they can't give me a code, because they need to verify my and my friend's email addresses (what?) and then I can place a full-price order, for which they'll then *refund* $12 to my account. I kept saying, "Those were not the terms of the program in any way, and I don't want to make an order with just a promise of a refund that might never be made." Besides, that means I'm making *two* orders to get this stupid $12 discount. Not. The. Terms.

If you dig for the *full* referral program terms online, you'll find a paragraph that says they basically don't have to honor the terms of the discount for any reason whatsoever. Since I am absolutely fed up with businesses shrugging and acting like they're above any accountability, I tried to delete my Grubhub account. Well, good luck with that! You have to dig around online yet again to find a secret email address to which you can send a cancellation request -- Please, sirs, may I close my own account?-- but they might not even respond or do anything to help you close your account.

I am done with Grubhub.

When the food never showed up, they informed me that, oops, the restaurant cancelled the order. But they never informed me of the same during hours when I could still get food. And then, get this, the woman on the phone told me that I should write a bad review of the restaurant. Rule number one in customer service - when you make an egregious mistake and provide horrible service, do not call up the customer and tell them you did nothing wrong. Also, do not confirm an order that has been cancelled. Unbelievable.

I had to deliver to a customer that called me two minutes before his delivery address and change it to his home address and then when I got to the customers house the application on my phone would not allow me to change it to delivered or arrived so I had to call customer care and told them the whole situation and somehow I made the customer service person so mad that they changed my delivery region from Spokane Washington to Anchorage Alaska they changed my earnings to -280 and they canceled my delivery card. I have called customer care for the last 3 days to get my region changed back from Anchorage Alaska to Spokane and I can't get anyone of any any I just cannot get any supervisor any anyone to help me this job is crazy

I ordered my food at 1:14PM. They said it would arrive between 2:15 and 2:25PM. At 3:04 when the order finally arrived I was missing half of the order, the food I received was soggy and the other 1/4 of the order was the wrong item. After I told the driver I was not accepting the order his response was " I don't care, I get paid anyways". BTW I called the restaurant at 1:55,2:30, and 2:55 to get an update on the order and each time the owner said the driver was 10 mins away and "just left". When I spoke to the restaurant owner and explained that the order was wrong he stated "oh, we don't serve that here". THEN WHY IS IT ON GRUB HUBS MENU? Never again!
