Received an email stating my wife and 2-year old son's airline e-tickets were confirmed along with a record locator number. On the day of our trip, when attempting to check in, only my 2-year old son's ticket was purchased and not my wife's ticket. Faredepot claimed my credit card was declined. I received no correspondence from Faredepot stating my credit card was declined. Even though they claimed my credit card was declined, they still sold me my 2-year old son's international ticket WITHOUT an accompanying adult ticket. Children under 5 years of age may not travel alone under any circumstances. Yet, Faredepot sold me a ticket for my 2-year old. My wife had to pay for an adult international ticket at the ticket counter of the airport on the day of their flight which cost over $2500. They claimed they contacted me immediately about the declined card. I was not contacted. I contacted my credit card company and they have no record of my credit card being declined, only a single charge for my 2 year-old son's ticket without an accompanying adult. They told me they would refund me my money. They never did. They claimed they would investigate and they would get back to me. They never did. Liars and deceitful business. DO NOT do business with Faredepot.

They called my bank and tried to gain access to my account 'on my behalf'! Luckily my bank has blocked my card... No real company would ever do this - clearly a security breach!

I really wish I'd read the reviews about Fare Depot before I booked with them. I have always booked through a site and have never had a problem if I wanted to change of cancel the flight directly with the airline. American Airlines is very tight lipped about this company and refuses any help with touching my reservation at all. It's very suspicious and disconcerting. In order to cancel I have to pay $350 which isn't that big of a deal although in the past I was able to just get a voucher for the value of my flight and or $300 fee if I wanted to change the dates of the international flight directly with the airline. 490$ to change the flight with Fare Depot. I'm actually glad and maybe it happened for a reason that I'm cancelling cause after reading these reviews, I'd very very worried as to wether or not is get stuck. I'm also feeling very unsafe since in order to cancel I've got to fax a picture of the front and back of my CC, Passport, and DL. I just don't want my identity stolen from this and don't know what to do since I do want some of my money back!

I had to travel to Scotland and do that within my budget. Whilst others failed, FareDepot.com helped me with offers within my budget. I really had a wonderful trip.
This company requires me to call my credit card company because of transaction fee. They said that my credit card has some problems so they couldn't receive fare. However, my card has any problems. When I asked them about that, they just said you should deal it by yourself. I wanted to cancel boarding pass bacause they were sooooo rude and when I asked about my pass, they just said 'pay first' but I've already paid fare when booked boarding pass on the internet. Finally, they required cancel fees even they made a mistake. They could charge cancel fees but they couldn't charge boarding pass fare even though it's same credi card haha. Gooooood job~ they know how make money without any working!
If I could give zero stars I would! I bought a fare with a layover from them and they told me that the two airline companies did not have agreement terms and they could not issue the ticket. They called me back later and said they could book the two parts of the ticket individually for an extra $400! They said my only option was to cancel my ticket or pay $400. This fare combination was and is still online but for a higher price! I told this to them when I was on the phone and they told me to repurchase the ticket. They messed up on the price and did not do anything to fix it! Wish I would have seen these reviews before buying! I was linked to them from skyscanner who should also take them off their site!
Lastly, their customer service was horrible! I could not understand their accents and when I emailed them, there were so many grammatical erros in their response that it made me feel they hired people who do not have full fluency in English. I have tried to look for some sort of email address for their sales and marketing team, but the one the phone reps gave me!
Stay clear at all costs! I would rather pay more for a flight then ever deal with them again!
I purchased two roundtrip tickets at a price that seemed to be too good to be true, and boy was it ever. I received an email shortly after booking stating that a security fee would be charged to my credit card and once I replied to the email with the exact amount my tickets would be processed. A week later and nothing had been charged, so I sent an email explaining the situation and was told to check with my bank, which I had already done. I called faredepot and was told the same thing, even though I had already explained that my bank confirmed that nothing had been charged. After a few more emails they finally sent the fee again. I emailed back with the exact amount, however instead of processing my tickets they confirmed that the security fee was indeed correct, but said that the tickets couldn't be processed because the booking had expired. I then tried to book again, same thing happened with the security fee and after a few days they once again cancelled the tickets because the price had increased. Worst customer service that I've ever experienced.
They are here to take your money and provide nothing but headache in return. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use this website. On top of stealing your money and not even your credit card company being able to do anything when you dispute a charge, they will call you and harrass you.

I travelled to Prague last month and I booked my tickets online for the first time from FD. The website is very organized and is professional. I faced no issues.
I travel quite a lot and have dealt with many different agencies and airlines and I have never experienced such rude, inept and poor treatment.
I booked a return flight to London with FD - flew there. When I tried to confirm my return flight I could not find it. Long story short, I was stranded in London with no flight home.
I had to stay over night (NOT CHEAP!) and fly out the next day.
FD told me it was the airline's fault as they cancelled the flight a few weeks earlier but never notified them.
I found out from the airline that they had notified Fare Depot.
Fare Depot then took the position that since I got a return flight I had nothing to complain about. Further, they told me it was my fault "I should have checked 72 hours in advance" then they told me to deal with the airline as it is their fault.
It was the most frustrating experience and I am left with a significant cost, a profound inconvenience and I will NEVER use this company again. They have absolutely NO concept of customer service!

Answer: Don't think you can select your seat through Fare Depot. You have to work directly with the airline for that.
