WORSE experience Ever!

WORSE experience Ever with booking! Their
Agent made a mistake on the date of return and I could cancel and rebook it under 24hrs, they didn't let me and they said No need we'll fix it. They didn't and I couldn't cancel anymore. Me and my girlfriend spend over 8 hrs a day for past
10 days with them, they couldn't do ANYTHING and we had to pay extra to airline
To get it fix at the end!

I paid then over 6 k for flight and trip, all-inclusive, then due to covid, the flights were canceled, I called and was holding for 3 hours before the telephone got disconnected, then tried again only to have the same experience multiple times after 3 long hours getting cut off, I emailed and no replies, this is THE WORST service ever and they don't take care of clients, just take their money. Go elsewhere

I made a typo on the name for 1 of the 6 passengers I had in our booking. I called 4 different times and waited on hold for more than 4 hours collectively. I looked high and low for any other methods of communication and requesting a name edit (e.g. Social media, online chat, email, etc.) and the only option to edit contact info was by via phone.

2 out of the 4 times the automated system thankfully gave the option to choose a callback in lieu of waiting on hold. The first time I never received a callback at all and the 2nd time the system called me back just to keep me on hold again for an hour and a half before I just gave up lol. When I did finally get a hold of an agent they promised to resolved it and send me confirmation in 72 hours. You guessed it no callback even 2 weeks later...

Long story short I ended up calling the airline directly and pleaded with them to correct the error instead of pushing me through the booking service (expedia.ca) as per their usual procedure. Was completed in 5min.

Competitive prices for sure but god help you if you ever need help or customer service of any kind. Try and avoid if you can, if not just roll the dice and take your chances.

I booked a hotel for a week and pre-paid but learned afterwards that the pre-paid amount was $600 MORE than the actual hotel bill! Use Expedia to check prices but do NOT pre-pay for ANYTHING or just book the room using the actual hotel or airline website.

Expedia are criminals!

We spent 13,000 in flights, all premium seats, because I changed one flight, they bumped all flights to regular, charged me an extra 500 bucks, I refund on the other flights to go back to regular seats! THEY ARE THIEVES! They will now sell my premium seats to someone else at premium price!

We booked flights through EXPEDIA... Our flights got cancelled and UNITED and JET BLUE offered credits. We are Canadians and will not likely be going to the USA in the foreseeable future. CREDITS are not acceptable. We need REFUNDS. After all they cancelled the flights. EXPEDIA WAS NO HELP AT ALL.

I bought a ticket through Expedia in May to Vancouver, but unfortunately, I had to cancel it then Expedia sent me an email with some credits now I tried to use those credits and with the instructions on how to use the credits, and now that I call and tried to use the credits they said I have to call the airline then I called and the airline said it will Expedia then called back Expedia and they said they my credit doesn't have any value even though it says has a value on it, very very frustrated after 5 hours over the phone and four days trying to use my credits at the end, I lost a good deal for my tickets and do not use any credits as it was painful. DO NOT recommend using Expedia specially if you are not sure to take your trip and ended cancel it.

Expedia draws you in with advertised low prices - BUT prices advertised are not always what you're expected to pay. I booked two (2) rentals on the Expedia site and then (just because I had a nagging feeling) I called the actual Rental Company they were fronting for. The Rental company said they would NOT rent the car for the posted price. The price they quoted did not include Insurance. I explained that I had insurance on my Credit Card and that the website stated the Liability Insurance was included in the price. They looked up the confirmation number and said NO insurance was included in the price. The ACTUAL PRICE was DOUBLE what I was quoted on the site. Buyer Beware. I finally worked a deal with the Rental Car Company - NOT Through Expedia.

Following protocols from the government, my family had to cancel our weekend trip and hotel stay as my boys developed COVID symptoms. As my wife booked the hotel through Expedia, I contacted them and had to wait 6 hours for a call back. After getting off the phone I was instructed that Expedia could not cancel the transaction and that I would have to contact the hotel, to request a refund. I contacted the hotel and the gentleman there said that they would not be charging Expedia, due to the circumstances, and therefore we could be reimbursed for the charge. He did say that I would have tp contact Expedia again. Another 3 hours later I got a call back. Was told that it was the hotel's decision and it's policies that dictate refunds. They lied, when I informed them that I had spoken to the hotel, they changed their tune. Expedia claimed that they would be emailing the appeal on my behalf to confirm the refund. The following Sunday, two days later, we were told that the hotel denied our appeal. I called the hotel today, Wednesday, and they informed me that they never received an email appealing the charge

They put you on hold and they leave you for hours and they dont come back to you so you have to call agin and wait for 1 hour again and they answer, then they leave you on hold again and they never come back! My opinion never book with EXPIDIA EVER! Because you will get screwd

Booked with expedia for a once in lifetime trip. Weather caused significant delays and pushed our departure by a week. Expedia was so UNhelpful. Customer service told us there were no flights heading towards our destination.
We enlisted the help of the air carrier who helped us find a new flight out so Expedia could book that flight for us. Expedia forgot to change our hotel reservations, so we were charged for a week of accommodations - we hadn't left our city yet. When we called Expedia they told us it was our responsibility to manage accommodations (even though we booked through them and they assured us at the time they'd contact the hotel and change our booking - didn't happen)
We wanted to delay our return flight for a few days (because an 11 day trip was cut down to 5 days). Sure enough Expedia said it couldn't be done.
They told us several times they would listen to our phone call tapes and get back to us - didn't happen.
They regurgitated our story back to us - incorrectly and told us it was all our fault.
No one can control the weather but Expedia used it as an excuse to basically screw us over, I will absolutely NEVER book with them again. We travel several times a year using various other means (travel agents, Costco travel, red tag and independent booking) Expedia was the worst experience - and we had purchased travel insurance with Expedia - they didn't care.
The agents only goal is to get you to admit to something you didn't do so they can excuse themselves of liability.
Don't book with Expedia - there are so many other options out there.

Expedia travel package

DO NOT bool travel packages with Expedia. Thrifty at Pearson refused my car because I forgot my credit card at home. I offered to leave a large deposit on my debit card or provide the credit card info to them but they refused. I did not argue, I just left without a car in the middle of winter. I was without a car for 1 week in the snow and cold. I had to use a taxi for the entire week which cost a lot. I am not disputing not getting the car, I am disputing not getting a refund. I called Expedia for a refund on the car rental as soon as I got to my hotel and they said Thrifty refuse to issue a refund. I told them I did not pay Thrifty, I paid Expedia and Expedia is responsible for the refund. Expedia refused to do anything. My credit card company said this is completely unacceptable because they (Thrifty) did not lose anything by not releasing a car and they should authorize a full refund. My credit card company will be disputing this with Expedia. If I don't get my money back, I will be taking Expedia to court. They are hiding behind Thrifty and blaming their unethical behaviour on Thrifty. At the end of the day, I paid Expedia, I did not do business with Thrifty therefore I do not need to contact Thrifty nor do I need to go after Thrifty. I will go after the company (Expedia) who took my money.

FRAUDULENT CAR RENTAL CONFIRMATION BUT NO CAR
August 23, 2021

Last weekend I rented a midsize SUV for a cottage weekend through expedia affiliate Carrentals.com. I prepaid and received confirmation email and even phoned the morning of the day I was supposed to pick up and was told car was ready for me. When I arrived at the rental agency they said they did not have a car available for at least 45 mins. I waited an hour and was told they did not have an SUV but offered a sedan which was unsuitable for my needs. The agency could not tell me if or when they would have an SUV for me that day. I waited another hour and then decided to cancel and make other arrangements. The agency could not give a refund and told me to call CarRentals.com - they also refused to give a refund and kept me on hold for 30 minutes. After almost 2 hours of waiting at the car rental agency they offered me a mini-van which I accepted out of desperation. It was an older vehicle with stained seats and well below standard that one reasonably expects for a rental vehicle. To top it all off, when I looked at my credit card statement after the weekend, I discovered the price I was quoted by CarRentals.com was in USD! Converted to CAD$ it means that I had paid over $600 for a crappy minivan for 3 days. I don't understand how companies such as CarRentals.com and expedia are allowed to operate in Canada - they should be reported to police and shut down.

Lousy Representation
September 15, 2020

After a horrible vacation at the Royal Solaris, Cancun, we contacted Expedia in February 2020 and requested a 50 per cent refund. Solaris made major noisy renovations during our stay and we submitted evidence of the constant jack hammering supported by eight witnesses. For 6 months, Expedia sent us meaningless PR apologies promising to act as advocates for us.

It becomes clear that Expedia has no intention to really represent clients
Who suffered horrible vacations even if multiple witnesses confirm the
Issues presented as evidence.

Expedia does not check out Hotels and Resorts to verify that clients
Actually get the vacation that is advertised and paid for.

Hundreds of complaints on various Consumer Websites confirm that Expedia
Has no scruples or morals in selling vacations to unsuspecting people and
Does not help clients to receive fair compensation for ruined Holidays.

The disgraceful behavior by Expedia and other Travel Agents will
Hopefully result in legislation making them more accountable in future.

Shame on Expedia who took our money but didn't act as an Advocate for us
Other than giving meaningless BS and not making Sunwing accountable……. We'll remember!

They changed my stepmom's flight twice and we were never notified! When she got to the airport, she was told that her flight had been changed, meaning that she would miss her connecting flight back home. I immediately called Expedia and they advised me that I would have to call the airline and deal with them. I told them that I had made the reservation through Expedia and not the airline so they would need to fix this. I was transferred to the manager of customer service and I was telling him everything that was wrong and he said excuse me, I wasn't done talking". SERIOUSLY? You have an elderly women going to be stranded in a foreign country and you cant even listen to your customers worries... This manager clearly dd not know the basic of customer service etiquette. He dismissed my question when I asked him why did we not receive a notification of her flight being changed AGAIN! Never booking through Expedia again! They do not take ownership and responsibility and then leave you on hold for over 30 mins, hoping that you will hang up! Unfortunately, my dad is already booked with them to return next year but I will definitely ask them for a refund! This is ridiculous!

Expedia is a big scam! Their PRICE GUARANTEE is nothing but a lie! There is no customer care! E- mailed them, msg at FB and still no respond! The worst experience with travel agency!
