On April 4th/2019 at 11:30 pm I went to book a hotel for April 6th/2019 in Spokane. Did that on the first page and on the second page it asked me to reserve. So on the first page it asked for the dates... so I punched in the date for April 6th/2019. I filled in all the information on the second page, including my Credit card info and reserved the room not realizing that the dates on the second page went back to April 4th/2019. First off, who books a room on the same day at 11:30 pm unless you're actually at the hotel? Nobody, but they took my money. And when I realized the mistake, it was like pulling teeth to get it refunded and the refund takes up to 10 days because it's a Visa! I don't know about most people but I just can't pull $130 out of my $#*! everyday to stay at a hotel for a night. So now I'm scrambling to get money on my card again to book a hotel for the right night... unbelievable! Never ever will I use that site again! Oh, and the $50 voucher they offered me for their website incompetence isn't any good unless I book that same night. Sorry no money to book because you took it
We have taken many trips that we booked through Expedia. All have gone well, but a recent set of experiences has caused me to decide that I will NEVER book with Expedia again. If anything goes wrong, you will receive terrible customer service and all employees have clearly been instructed to do as little as possible to solve customer problems.
Called expedia.ca to rebook flights using a voucher from a previously canceled trip. Took seven hours speaking with a variety of agents, being cut off and having to await a call back. Lied to about policy (other agents later offered the same service that previous agents said was not possible). Thought my ordeal with Expedia was over. WRONG! They did not inform me that the outbound flight I had rebooked was canceled. Fortunately I called the airline a couple days before travel to confirm wheelchair service. Otherwise we would have arrived at the airport without a flight. Called Expedia again. Took two hours to be told that it would cost $900 more than what both Expedia and the airline were advertising. Ended up booking the flight myself directly with the airline. Wrote a complaint to Expedia. Quickly received a response asking that I call customer service to discuss compensation - provided with a case number and asked to speak with a higher department. Two hours later when I questioned the meager $200 coupon they were offering the offer was withdrawn and I was told they would do nothing.
I booked Orlando package through Expedia on 13 October 2019. I thought using Expedia will be a good choice since they will take of everything, but it turned out that Expedia does nothing if you have any problem or issue even if it is Expedia fault, you will never get a refund... it happened to me it was Expedia fault that caused to book two houses instead of one house. I was doubled charged without even know that I booked two houses until I got contacted by the property manager telling me they can't found two houses at the same area... was chocked as I never asked for two houses... called the Expedia customer services many times to explain the situation, but they are useless. They say it is not our problem and as the property was managed by third party... they rejected to refund the extra charge... my vaction was a nightmare because of this issue even before the vacation started. Just don't use Expedia as you will be. We even got adifferent house than the original one booked through Expedia.
A guy named Ahmed On July 27 2022 called because my flight was canceled, was put in a flight that I could not make, I called Expedia to move my flight to any time other then the one I had been put in and they said they could not help me, I was told if I wanted to be moved to a flight I would have to pay 1000, I asked if there was anyone who could help me and he replied with no, but his boss or supervisor could call within 5 business days, even thought I had to catch a Flight for a wedding with in the couple of days, never would I book with Expedia again.
I booked a reservation in Niagara Falls, they couldn't even tell me where I was to park. They wouldn't cancel my Reservation and were no help. They kept pretending to help and then would come back with nothing. I WILL NEVER BOOK EVER AGAIN WITH EXPEDIA. I had the worst experience!
I recently went to visit my brother in Kelowna, BC and had multiple issues with Expedia.ca
First of all they tried to tell us multiple times that flights would be cancelled when they weren't. I called Air Canada since Expedia.ca said my Air Canada flight would be cancelled in a few hours. Air Canada says they don't know how Expedia has that information, and as far as she could tell the flight was still set to leave on the day it was supposed to. Lo and behold that flight did end up not cancelled. This took literally all day as I was back and forth between Expedia and Air Canada with multiple calls. So they lied to me or they are just incompetent.
The second instance was a rep not knowing how time zones work! He said we would leave Calgary at 9 and get in Kelowna at 9, which he said makes no sense and that it would probably be cancelled soon. There's an hour time zone difference between these two cities, so yes it does make sense. He tried to get me to cancel multiple times - which would incur a fee, of course. As opposed to the airline canceling and me not having to pay a fee then.
It was stressful and the worst experience I've had with Expedia. I would not book with them ever again. Next time I'll pay the premium and book with Air Canada directly.
I booked a hotel months ago and needed 2 king size beds for 5 people in Saskatoon got a email and they changed 2 king size beds to 1 king size bed, im furious and ask to get it changed and they wouldn't even asked for a free night they wouldn't do a thing maybe get people who know what they are doing instead of Foreign people that have no clue what thet are doing, No other hotels in Saskatoon or outside of Saskatoon because of a Concert, I would never book with Expedia again.
Without going into details I booked return flights to Phoenix AZ from Ottawa Canada. I called Expedia to change only the date of the return flight. The original flights were canceled by mistake and the return flight was booked on the wrong day. Expedia told me it would take 72 hours to resolve their errors. At the end of 72 hours they said they needed another 72 hours. E mails and faxes to the CEO requesting that the appropriate Exoedia staff member correct this matter. No responses ever received from Khosrowshahi or his staff. I have been charged for a flight I could not take from Phoenix back to Ottawa as the flight to Phoenix was cancelled in error by the Exoedia agent in Cairo.
With due respect the agent was obviously challenged in the English language which likely lead to his series of errors. I recommend travelers book directly with the airline.
As well I note that Exoedia Inc owns many other companies like Hotwire and Trivago so when you think you are dealing with a separate competitive company by apparent deception you are still dealing with Expedia. Is there a sense of fraudulent practices? I really don't know but I highly recommend that travelers avoid Expedia as noted in most other reviews!
Worst. Rep names Johnny. I had 1200 credit and asked for comfort air canada ticket. He said its impossible but my ticket will include baggages and seat. Made me pay extra 416 for changing fee and tax. Ticket was worth 600 and he told me i will lose value. And i dont get confirmation email for another 10 hrs. Found out he booked me a wrong flight. I called back and they guna do case to see what they can do. Waste of 5 hrs. Never ever ever booking with expedia
Just book with hotels.com or airline directly. They scam you. They will just take money and get u lowest value ticket. And the rep Johnny seems like he doesn't know what he is saying
He was telling me my literary number back 3 times. All 3 times was diff # with 1 or 2 degit. How can I book my flight ticket with someone who cant read number clearly. Anyways I paid over 1600 dollars for just 700 dollars worth ticket. They made me lose 415 dollar value and charged me for 200 changing fee and 215 for tax. This is unbelievable. I regret so much for using Expedia. I always been booking all my travel package many years. After this funny and ridiculous experience. I AM PERMANANTLY delete my account. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NOT USE EXPEDIA. You will regret it.
I had a terrible experience with the Expedia Car Rental agency - Orbitz. I booked a car online with Orbitz on March 14,2022 for pickup in Calgary. Confirmation # EAPPpb*******. I read over the page Car Rental Policies including rules and restrictions from Orbitz but I didn't see anything that applied to me. So I completed my transaction and prepaid for the vehicle. When I went to pick up the car in Calgary, I was told the office I was looking for was Routes Car Rental not Orbitz which was off airport property. I had to call for a shuttle! This was not explained to me beforehand. When I finally arranged to go to the off site office I was told they could not rent me a vehicle because I was over the age of 74! But I have a valid drivers license! They still refused to rent me a vehicle. When I returned home I asked for a refund but Orbitz told me I should have read over the Rules and Restrictions. But I did! Then Orbitz said I should have opened the link stating Rules and Restrictions for drivers under the age of 25! Why would I look under this section when I am not under the age of 25. Nevertheless Orbitz continues to refuse me a full refund. Terrible customer relations! So now Orbitz says I have to pay for a service I did not receive. They certainly will not get any repeat business from me.
Booked a ticket through expedia for Caribbean airlines. According to Expedia their system had a "glitched" and according to them the ticked showed up as confirm to the customer but was declined by the airline because their system wasn't updated. Their only advise was for me to rebook a ticket which is $600 more expensive. DO NOT BOOK WITH expedia, they WILL WASTE YOUR TIME and let you miss Important flights.
Expedia, where to start. If you are trying to modify or cancel a trip then you need to wait on hold while the expedia representative talks with the airlines or otherwise. They say that this is for security reasons, or whatever, which means you might find yourself in a hotel lobby waiting on hold with expedia while they try to call the same hotel lobby. You might find yourself looking the person in the eye who expedia should be calling, but their phone sits idle on the lobby desk. In the end you just end up paying for a hotel you don't use. Such is the story of my co-worker retold after telling him mine. Now my story is similar. My wife and I booked a trip to Cuba and then found out she was pregnant. Health Canada advises against travel to Cuba because of the risk of birth defects from the mosquito borne zika virus. I cannot call Air Canada directly, the tour provider, but need to call Expedia. But when I call expedia I end up on hold for countless hours. It is now 12:00PM. I am on hold. Again. I started my attempt to cancel the trip at 8:30AM and am still on the same phone call. This is the third day in a row of trying to cancel the trip and obtain a partial refund.
STAY AWAY STAY AWAY... This people are a bunch of thieves. Tell you one thing and do the other they don't care about you they just want to make money. Hell i like to make money but i dont tell my costumers one thing and do the other.
