I would have given it 0 star if I could. Ordered pain medication for my dog with a torn acl. 13 days and never arrived. Call customer service and explained. First call she said I would have to wait for the package to get to me, return it and then when they received it, they would refund me. I flipped out, she said hold on let me see what I can do for you, laughed and hung up. The 2nd call the woman refunded me immediately. I can't count on chewy to deliver my meds in a timely manner. Even if there was a shipping issue, the customer service compounded my troubles. I'll look for another supplier and tell chewy " let me see what I can do for you " laugh and hang up. I'm done with you! 1
Don't do it, don't go with Birchbox! Cheesy products and not worth it.
I stupidly signed up for a year!
Horrible samples, try Allure instead.
Horrible products...
I signed up for three month trial... and then NO AUTO renewal. I made sure. However, they kept charging me and sending me boxes... I ended up paying for an extra FIVE MONTHS- and then when it was finally resolved, I get a new charge as of Jan 2021 and an email my box is on the way. I logged into my account, and there's no way you can delete you credit card info, there's no way to delete your accounts and guess what I DONT have auto renewal on it. I literally NEVER write reviews. BUT I HAVE TO WARN you. This is a scam. Very disappointed. I have to call my credit card company now and tell them that whenever this company tries to charge me- its a scam. LOL. This is ridiculous.
This company is a complete scam. Horrible customer service. Failed to deliver packages. Manipulative subscription settings. DON'T DO IT.
A long time ago, i had purchased birchbox as a gift. I thought earlier this year it would be a good way to try new stuff while in lock down. Received several boxes. None have actually be used, with the exception of a few products as i cant even tell what they are for or why i would be receiving them as they are nothing i would use. Looks to be like left overs from suppliers/companies, as most would not even be enough 'trial size' to really change products. Worse part is that i bought a 12 month subscription for something that is junk, and now no way to cancel! Oh, add on the BOX IN A BOX waste of cardboard from an environmental perspective. Don't waste your money. Go buy a full size product of what you really want each month! You will be WAY better off.
Dollar store has them beat as far as quality on 90%+ of the items they sell...$150 for a liter of the worst shampoo in the world? Conditioner stinks too... talking next to $300 for awful hair. My hair is in great condition, after using this product, my hair felt fried and the shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair stripped the color faster than anything I've ever used. Horrible overpriced literally trash. I couldn't wait to rewash my hair with my old Aussie
This was a total disappointment! The samples are to small, it's not worth the money you pay each month. Somebody was raving about the box, its a cardboard box,
You can take the box! The makeup sample That was in my box today hardly had no product in the miniature tube for me to even test on my face. After that, I canceled the subscription.
I purchased a 3 month subscription for my best friend's birthday (who has breast cancer) and she kindly emailed them asking if it was possible to receive skincare products instead of hair products because she is bald from cancer- and when they told her no, she did not receive a box. Instead, they sent her 2 mini mascaras and addressed her as "The Clever Lindsey". How rude can you be?! I regret purchasing this as a gift and want to share with everybody. The user experience on the site is also terrible. Why couldn't I just email her a code to redeem her box instead of pay a mass amount for shipping? So so so disappointed and sad my friend had to put up with this.
Stay away. These people rip you off. Look you into a contract and keep extending it without your permissions. Samples are worth 50 cents. Tell you you get to pick but every time you try, everything is sol out. Do not get suckered in.
Oh, and there is no way to talk to a human. No phome lines. Email only!
Tried to get my own product sample choice and it wasn't available. Got the email that my box samples were available to look at online. Nothing in it matches my beauty profile. What's the point of filling that out if they are just going to ignore it and throw in samples I'll never use. First box has been in transit for 7 days and was supposed to arrive today and they changed the estimated arrival another week. I can get packages directly from China faster than that. Canceled the subscription.
I've been a subscriber to Birchbox since almost the beginning, most recently as an annual subscriber. I've even gifted subscriptions to others over the years. Early on, the samples were large travel sizes, with the ability to get 4 or 5 uses out of them and really try them. Most boxes had one great item (either a very large size or perhaps a beauty tool) and you received incentives for reviewing the products on their site.
The incentives were discontinued, then the great items started to diminish and now have stopped, and now all you get is a box with a handful of single use samples the likes of which the beauty stores give you for free to try an item.
Expressed my displeasure and got a tone deaf response that condescendingly explained that not everyone likes everything in every box. Guess they don't appreciate my years of support so I've canceled my subscription and signed up with a competitor.
I subscribed to Birchbox for three years. Each month they would offer product choices. I would choose only to be told that my choice was out of stock. After having this happen repeatedly and not getting my choice -ever -I decided to ask what's up with this. I was basically scolded and told that the choices are for the important customers who buy full size products from Birchbox. Well then Birchbox - Why give me a choice if I am an unimportant customer who buys only a few full size products per year. Sometimes the samples are for shampoo and conditioner that can be purchased in a warehouse store. Clearly I was treated as a undervalued customer. So I'm done.
Birch box auto renews your subscription so if you don't time when it ends it will automatically renew your subscription and then doesn't let you cancel it mid subscription so you have to wait the whole time again for you to be able to cancel it. It is very poor in allowing that fact, so i would not recommend subscribing because you want to try it out because it is not worth it. The products aren't even that good, I'll just tell you that if you are thinking about it don't
If you do not unsubscribe exactly one year after signing up you will continue to be charged annually, as the automatic billing is automatically on. I subscribed for 2.5 years and wanted to stop, as I had samples of mascara and dry shampoo (their most popular box items) stacking up. I am not able to cancel until the 3 year mark. I'm mad!
Birch box is the worst. I signed up for a free box on Oct or Nov time frame and in doing so I unknowingly signed up for a year subscription to the worst subscription box out there! They will not let me out of the contract. They send boxes that are not worth the what $15.00 we have to pay for them? I pay $25.00 for IPSY and get 5 regular size products. Plus they actually do go by your reviews and your beauty profile when sending products. The Birchbox I received today was so disappointing. All I want is out. I want my subscription cancelled! It can be done! Until then I will continue to leave bad reviews and I will continue to file complaints with The Better Business Bureau which they do not belong to because they have so many complaints filed against them, most of them due to them not letting people cancel their accounts. In the picture is February's box. You would think since it was the month for Valentine's they would do something special.
I placed an $85.00 order, received it, was not thrilled with receiving literally the smallest sample sizes of products for the money spent. Tried to contact them for returns. No phone number. Had to email them a couple of times. About a week later received a response they are so busy and will get back to me in the order they received the email. I had to reach out 2 more times. Finally got a return label and the email said I would receive a credit 7-10 days of receipt of items. I promptly shipped back everything. Waited 3 week not receiving a refund. Had to email them again. Waited a few more days and got a response that said my return may have been lost in transit. But they will issue a refund and to wait another 3-5 days. It's been 3 days and I still don't see a refund. Ridiculus. It seems to me they only moves things along if you are persistant. Never will purchase anything from them again. Lesson will learned. Heading back to Loof Fantastic and Beauty Fix.
They scam you out of money, they don't delete your auto-renewal after they said they would. In fact at one point they told me to go online and cancel my subscription there, there wasn't an option at the time. I see they have since fixed this issue, probably too many people complaining. Their samples are so small, and some only half full. It's not worth the time or the money. Their customer service sucks! Do not order Birchbox. Unless you like headaches and regret.
First, like others mentioned, if you forget to cancel it automatically renews and you cannot get out of another year. My main complaint is they offer choices each month, EXCEPT you can never get them. I received an email this morning at 10 that this month is available to choose and at 12:15 when I tried to select one they are all sold out so you get what you get. Very unhappy with the company.
They automatically renew and if you don't catch it they will not cancel it. You can't delete your credit card without adding a new one. They have 0 sympathy for their customers. Also the samples are what get sent are equivalent to something sent in a magazine sample.
There is no way to cancel the subscription in their website. They will not stop or cancel your subscription when asked via e-mail. They will continue to charge your credit card each month until you change your card number. I'm pretty sure what they do with charging credit cards repeatedly without authorization is illegal in most states.
Answer: I've bought a few. I've liked several more enough to buy a full size item but haven't gotten around to it yet because I have enough of a similar product on hand for now.
Answer: The issue I've had with them is that their customer service contact information was difficult to locate, so I get it. I had to contact them over Twitter to get it. The email form on the website doesn't do you much good. Try sending an email to info@birchbox.com for a better response. If all else fails, and you can't seem to get them to stop charging you, contact your credit card company, and let them handle it for you.
Answer: I work at a credit union. What I would recommend in this instance is canceling the card and then disputing unwanted charges. There is no way for the institution to cancel the subscription for you. However, as I said, we can issue you a new card number and help you dispute the charges that you did not authorize.
Answer: You get one point per dollar when shopping in the Birchbox shop. Additionally, reviewing the items you received in your Birchbox earns 10 points per review, and sharing your box on social media also yields you 10 points.
Beauty and lifestyle product "discovery". Birchbox offers $10/month subscriptions to their beauty gift boxes.
