I went to Best Buy about a week and a half ago to check out their movie selection. They had a great selection at the Nicholasville Road location in Lexington. The prices were reasonable, I was greeted as I came into the store, an employee asked if I needed help finding anything and check out was quick and easy. What more could you ask for?
I have had one of the worst experiences in dealing with any company ever! We purchased a security system. It didn't work from the start and I spent many hours on the phone trying to get it fixed. Talked to many, many people. Finally, John from install (3rd party)who originally installed it was supposed to come out from 8-12 on Friday. He never showed... again, despite getting confirmations day before from Best Buy. This is after a month of frustration and this was our last attempt. I think most of the problem was with the 3rd party installation company that they contract with Best Buy. It was a terrible experience. Best Buy and Install does not communicate... and install is the worst! We are requesting our money back! Horrible experience!
I have purchased TVs from them twice only to have them be damaged when they were taken out of the box. My mom bought us a camcorder combo that included an SD card and a travel case at Christmas time. The items were shipped to the store nearest us. I got the text alert saying items could be picked up. Waited through the horrendous holiday lines only to find the SD card and case had arrived but not the camcorder. Huh?! We had to wait 11 more days to recieve the camcorder. I think the local store sold ours and then made us wait til they had another shipped but I do not have any proof.
I was always a big fan of Best Buy. You can get some good deals, but you can also pay out of the butt for somethings. Recently, there's been a bunch of things being released for the holidays. Their website specified a max number of units on several of the items I was interested in. I have kids of my own and a few nieces and nephews I wanted to buy for. I purchased the max allowable on I believe 2 items. Order went through fine, but then I got an email stating my order had been cancelled due to quantity restrictions. Why list an amount on the site if you're just going to change it on a whim? I couldn't even place a new order for a lesser amount because they were on back order. Really frustrating and really disappointing. I'll go give amazon my business.
Best Buy the one in Clearwater off Rte 19. I went into the store and the sign at the entrance stated minimum staff sue to Covid. This covid is just about covered but never the less they had minimum staff. The staff was certainly busy taking care of the things they were told or had to do that day. Certainly not helping customers. One staffer was busy talking to I presume a manager but no problem he didn't stop to help anyone. All other staffers were busy doing their own thing. One staffer I asked for help pointed me in a directions as to where I could look. God forbid he leave what he was doing to show me or assist. Other customers were walking around looking for help as well. When it says minimal staff apparently they mean minimal help as well.
I purchased a new monitor for my computer online because it is an inconvenience for me to go to their closest store. My monitor arrived 3 or 4 days after it was supposed to be delivered. I was in process of moving, so this evening when I went to set my computer up with the new monitor, I cannot connect my monitor to the computer because it is missing a cable. Included with the monitor was hdmi to hdmi cable, but I have an older 600 Series Dell desktop which requires d-sub to RGB cable which was not supplied. So online I contacted customer support and got into a chat. All they could tell me was I could send it back for free to do an exchange or refund, or take it to the nearest store. I don't want to do that as either one is a major inconvenience to me. Then the customer service person says they cannot send me a cable. So that means now I have to take time off from work to go to the nearest store to get the freaking cable.
Best Buy gave me notice of delay on the day the computer was scheduled for delivery. They then rescheduled the delivery up to TWO weeks later, without giving me an option to cancel. They have repeatedly refused to cancel the order, even though it still has not shipped. After two attempts to cancel by chat, I was later told on their 800 number that they didn't even have the computer in stock. So, the original delivery date shown on the website was never going to happen to begin with. I was told the only way they can cancel is if I had called them within 30 minutes after making the initial order. Wouldn't you think they should tell me within 30 minutes that it wasn't even in stock? Keep this in mind if you're thinking about ordering from them. Zero responsibility shown in trying to correct. It makes me think they're offering quick shipping on the website to bait you in, then locking you into waiting an excessive amount of time, with no ability to cancel.
The Best Buy web site is a great resource for finding product. Unfortunately, it doesn't easily tell me if a product is in stock and if so, what the in store price is. The best that I can do is determine whether I can pick it up today if I order it on-line. Often, I would like to comparison shop product in the store after doing initial research on line..
Great store, but... what do I need it for? I get my music from iTunes, I buy my computers from Apple,. I don't need car stereos and the only thing I bought at BestBuy is a GPS. That's all they have that I need. TVs? I can get cheaper at CostCo or Walmart.
They miss all the appointments. The scheduling department doesn't even communicate the appointment to customers. I was sitting home waiting for nothing several times until I contacted the service company directly and Best Buy was still trying to schedule a service that the subcontracted company had already completed - pathetic. Now I have been waiting for nothing AGAIN 3 times for my second and last installation booked with Best Buy. Employees at the store are even worse. Inpolite and unhelpful
We were in the store trying to shop for several electronics items, trying to read boxes and digest information so that we could make intelligent buying decisions. But were confronted and chased by several folks trying to sell us solar panels. This is the absolutely last thing we need. We don't want solar panels, and left the store without getting the things we do need. Harassed customers will leave and never return - I can't understand why they allow this. Even if they sell a few solar panels, they need to balance this against the profit loss from other items that customers might have bought if they had stayed.
I have bought several refurbished HP computers in the pass 10 years from them, almost all of them have problem in the power supply once I got them. Luckily I am a computer geek and identify the problem right away, changed their power supply and it works good for many years. Beside this issue, I like their refurbished computer a lot, especially the price tag.
Best Buy has gone down hill! I went to the store to buy a TV and put on a waiting list hit the next associate available and ended up leaving! Also tried to call yo place another order and ended up hanging up after trying to get someone on the phone! I will go elsewhere to do my shopping
I love my wall speakers. I am so glad I finally replace the old one I had and it looks so great in my hall. Most of all I can put stuff in and set the timer and don’t have to worry when will it be done nor do I need to check it every minute. Thanks Best Buy PCS.

The only problem I've ever had was the Beats Speaker Box I received was wired for service in Europe. I had absolutely no problems in returning it.
I ordered and item online for my apple computer. Best Buys online ordering system withdrew the money from my account and then never updated the order. I had to cancel and purchase in person. I normally never shop at Best Buy for this very reason. Use Amazon instead.

No reps, no supervisors will take account for their problems that this big chain store has. You will never see your money again! I went throug 24 people from reps, to supervisors, to waiting on hold for along time to get hung up on a few times, to finally getting an email stating I will not get a refund even though it was an employee of Best Buy who wrote my address wrong for my item to be delivered. They will blame UPS and also you for what went wrong. I will never ever ever shop at this place again, and I will make sure I will let my family and friends know as well.

As a geek squad member we were happy to know that there was in home repair when our TV went out. Until our appointment was canceled 3 times! I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
