Best buys customer service is slipping, I recently had a auto starter installed into my truck it was supposed to take 2 hours to be done, I waited for 6 hours and after hour 3 I complained and the service bay told me to wait and I didn't have a choice, just sit down and they will be done when they get done. So I sat down what could I have done my truck was torn apart and eventually they finished and I left. Needless to say I didn't buy my parents auto starter there or my wifes for Christmas. I had a appointment and they could care less about their customers. Their service is about the same as Kmart and other older chains that have been beaten down by the public demands for excellence.
Generally speaking, I have found Best Buy to be a very difficult business to deal with. I had an electronic device that worked for a week, but then stopped working. Because it was a few days from the date that I picked it up, they wouldn't take it back. I have avoided going to Best Buy for the last 4 years because we had such a bad experience w/the Geek Squad. We had a contract, but found their technicians to be unhelpful, and even rude. I need to remember not to ever go to Best Buy again!

I ordered a treadmill from bestbuy.com. They committed to delivery on Dec 2. I canceled appointments to be at home during the 12 - 8pm window. I called. They said it was coming. Online portal said it was coming. No show. Scheduled again for Dec 22. Same story happened AGAIN. These guys have a serious process failure. I canceled the order after they stood me up twice.
It was finally time to get the bigger, 4k TV of our dreams. Target caught our eye with a sale TV on sale... killer sale. But they were sold out in no time so we checked around and everyone was sold out. So I said just check online... sure enough there it was same sale price with free shipping. So I'm starting there next time to save the grief

I periodically order from the site and go into the store, and I like the products. Some of the customers are crazy (like in the Brooklyn Atlantic Terminal location). I almost got into a fight with the man in front of me because he was standing too close to me on line (crazy). But not the store's fault. The website has a good selection too, and I've found a lot of really specific pieces of equipment I've needed on there.
Best Buy is really good store and got lots of electronics to offer but too expensive. So in Massachusetts I would go to Microcenter store for most of the electronics purchases. BB is ok for shopping when they have deals on the items you need.
Consumer Alert! No body should buy anything from Best Buy. Best Buy (BB) hired this company, The Retail Equation (TRE) that is sham for US Consumers. This company will see some serious lawsuits in very near future. I bought indoor/outdoor Cameras and no one at store told me that there will be lag of one minute. Another purchase that was laptop crashed in few days from purchase that was even exchanged by Best Buy Geek Squad and they verified that Laptop was having some factory issues. All these points, that was none of my fault, have valid receipts at return, these points were used against me and I have denial to return any item in future. Which implies that even if it is not consumer fault, it is clearly Best Buys fault, Consumer will be given a warning for no reason that Future returns may be declined. This must stop. I humbly request ever US customer out there to stop buying any product from Best Buy.
Ordered a laptop online. An hour later, got an email that my order was cancelled. Along with it, lost a gift card & certificates that were used. Called, and was told my credit card bank had cancelled the order. I called my bank, and they said NO, bestbuy.com cancelled the order. So, they LIED to me. Have already wasted a couple of hours because of this, and I am out the gift card & certificates. Why would I ever want to shop at this POS website again?
A very good collection of accessories for my Macbook pro. I got my Ms office and wireless mouse from them and I'm very impressed after two weeks of intense use. Will definitely use their online purchase service again.
Leaving my computer with them for a minor repair, I was asked if I wanted to give them $100.00 to back up my memory. I asked "Why? The service requested has nothing to do with the memory; isn't that correct? The clerk at service intake agreed that it would not be necessary. Yet, when I picked up my computer, I discovered that Best Buy DID go through the effort to wipe all but six basic programs off from my computer. I have read further reports on this operation and today I will ONLY go into a Best Buy if I need to use a rest room. One of America's absolute WORST!

Please do not review if you are affiliated or havI've only ever ordered the same item (on 2 different occasions) so I may not be the best judge, but I have to say I had good experiences both times. The items had to be back-ordered which added about 2 weeks to each order, I've had that experience with so many mail order companies that I almost expect it.
The items (David Carradine Tai Chi DVDs, total of 3) were very inexpensive, the packaging and cost of s + h were great and the items looked and worked great when they arrived. I never had to contact customer service so I can't offer anything on that subject.
Although my experience with Bestbuy.com was limited, I highly recommend them (for DVD purchases).
Bestbuy is good website and there are some great deals every Sunday. The deal is even better if you can buy and pay No US Sales Tax. Please check return policy/warranty carefully. Any defective products, you can return or exchange by due date, if is pass the warranty date, it can be very difficult. Customer service can be helpful if you are lucky to deal with good customer service, it can be difficult, if you can deal with the bad one. Overall is positive experience most of time.
Worst shopping experience ever! I placed a store pickup order on 20th, they said I could pick it up on 27th. But I didn't receive the email on that day so I contacted the customer service immediately via website chat and they told me the item was already in the store and was prepared to be picked up the next day. Then when I contacted them again the next day, the other agent told me the item had been purchased by other customers?! What's the meaning of placing a store pickup order and paying for it in advance if you can't hold my order? Now they just told me sorry there is nothing we can do for you! Still can't believe they just let someone else take the item that I already paid for it. Horrible service!
Placed order, check status, card was charged. The day of pick up the website said store preparing order for pick up. Store closed and then received an email that said order wouldn't be ready for a month. Tried to chat with customer service, estimate wait time 20 minutes, 20 minutes came and went and then Bestbuy said that there was a technical error and that I need to start a new session. Ok second session nope, third session finally got to talk to someone, and all I wanted to know was my order going to be here by Christmas? All the customer service rep would say is that bestbuy is trying there best to fulfill my order. So no answer, huge amount of time wasted and they took my money and provided no answers. Buyer beware.
Best Buy has the worst service. I tried to buy a camera and had picked out the camera and the gear to go with it. The clerk rang it up and the phone rang. I stood there while he had a long conversation with someone. After about 5 minutes, I asked him if he was going to finish my transaction. He told me that he was multitasking! I said I am leaving and left the store.
So he had rung it all up but never got as far as taking my credit card.
So Best Buy lost my business and this guy lost a BIG sale.
That's not the first time I have had lousy service at Best Buy, but it is the last.
In the last 2 years I have ordered a refrigerator and a dishwasher from them. It took MONTHS to get then installed properly after being delayed months on the first place. One department wasn't communicating with other departments it was an absolute mess. The only way I got it all resolved was filing a BBB claim against them and then someone from executive offices started arranging and handling things. We'll ok buying appliances and installing them that's all a big deal but best buy can't even get the smallest simple things right. Beware pre ordering anything from them. Especially if it's a limited item. They accept more pre orders than they a tally have stock. So by the time they tell you your getting a refund you the item will be sold put e erywhere else and you'll be out of luck. This has happened twice with them. The total tech things is just a scam and their customer service us absolutely horrible.
Just got home after a two-hour visit to Best Buy. Talked with several staff and ended up with Steve who was ideal. We now have two iPhones (6s), and my husband seems happy with them. At this point, we'd recommend anyone's visiting the store - specifically Steve - for good products and service.

What good is purchasing a 3 year warranty for over $300 when it takes a week and a half to get a technician out to look at your frig. Whose ice maker stopped making ice and temperatures fluctuate causing us to dispose of food and sour milk. This will be the second time for the same problem which they supposedly fixed the first time out, which was 2 weeks ago. Also had trouble with a Samsung frig. Which I was able to return after writing to BBB. Exchanged for a more expensive LG model, and here we go again. Buy local and use their technicians who are in the area. Best buy, nice stuff if it works properly, customer service really sucks. They all wear ski masks. I'm done being taken for a sucker, hook line and sinker.

I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
