I buy a lot from Anthro but their shipping is awful because the use Asendia, the WORST shipping company known to man. The store itself has gone downhill in the last decade. The fit and consistency is all over the place and they use cheaper, mass produced fabrics than they used to
I am appalled by Anthropologie's handling of my return and refund. The entire experience has caused me genuine anxiety and significant stress. I returned items on 3rd January 2025 and have provided clear evidence, including Royal Mail tracking and proof of delivery with a signature, that the parcel was delivered to and received by Anthropologie.
Despite this, Anthropologie refuses to acknowledge the return and has not issued my refund of £380. Instead, I was sent an email falsely claiming the items were not returned. This is dishonest, unacceptable, and a breach of my consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I have contacted customer service multiple times via email and WhatsApp, spending hours providing the same evidence repeatedly. Rather than taking responsibility, they have attempted to shift the blame onto me, suggesting I chase the delivery company—even though the items were received and signed for by their depot. This behavior is deeply frustrating and unprofessional.
I have now escalated this to the Retail Ombudsman and will continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure my consumer rights are upheld.
For potential customers: I urge extreme caution when ordering from Anthropologie. Their returns process is unreliable, and customer service refuses to take responsibility when things go wrong, making the experience unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming.
First, they sent me just 1 of 3 items of an online order. Then, when I returned the 1 item I did receive to an Anthropologie store, they never refunded my credit card. Their customer service is a joke - its clear the agents are reading off a script or using stock answers, and are incapable of actually resolving issues. On 12/2/24, at Anthropologie's (their "Customer Satisfaction" staff) suggestion, I canceled an existing dispute through my bank as they indicated they would then "gladly" provide the refund. I then notified Anthropologie I had taken this step. It has been radio silence from them since and I have not received any acknowledgment, much less the $278 they have thus far stolen from me. A few minutes ago, I contacted my bank and had the dispute reinstated. I followed up with Anthropologie by email and told them to refrain from contacting me directly again. Let it be noted that it is 12/4/24 and I have still not received my refund for a return I made on 11/9/24.___
I would give zero stars if I can. These are the most incompetent sales people I have ever dealt with. They could not even tell me when my refund was processed. I spoke to a Renie Gibba at the Coral Gables store and she was so useless, I am not surprised that she had no clue what is going on with my refund. Anthropologie has lost me as a customer for life. I cannot deal with stupid people. Anthropologie should make all the salespeople at the Merrick Park Mall in Coral Gables FL enroll in customer service classes. What a waste of my time talking to them.
Good products but APALLING customer service and returns management. Was sent a faulty item which I returned, and they received back within 2 days. Impossible to get an update on progress, no matter who and how you contact them, here is the standard answer: "Hi Once your return has been received and processed by our returns team, your refund will be credited back to your original payment method. While we strive to process returns as quickly as possible, please note that it can sometimes take up to 28 days to complete. We'll send you an email to keep you updated once everything is finalized. For more information on our returns policy, please feel free to visit our website. Thank you.".
"Apologies, I am afraid that we are unable to check the progress of the return. Please allow our Returns Team up to 28 days to process the refund. But don't worry, we'll keep you updated via email as soon as it's completed. You can also check the T&C's on the website as reference. Thank you"
From a customer experience prospective I've been mis sold and been further impacted by being left £140 out of pocket. Don't take the risk, if you like something get yourself to the shop rather than order online.
10 emails asking the a simple Royal Mail QR to return a package. These emails were met with:
1.) Silence
2.) telling me you were sending a QR code (never came)
3.) asking for information about the order that was already provided in that email and forwarding multiple different emails with different reps asking the same thing.
I originally selected an in store return through their portal but I cannot change it to mail. If this was possible ( & not entirely unheard of), Lots of time would have been saved.
Still no return code
I am so sad because anthropologie was my absolute favorite store growing up and even worked there as I got older in my 20s. It was always so beautiful and artistic and the peices were so unique and high quality making me feel OK about the high price point. In the past couple of years the store has turned into forever 21 in my opion but with the same high anthro price point. It has loud obnoxious music, cheap clothing and home decor, and the window displays are nothing like they used to be. The magic of anthropologie is gone. Even the website is terrible. None of the photos match in aesthetic and it's honestly just a mess. Also it seems like there are 100s of new items posted on their website every day and then go to sale in couple weeks. It makes the items feel disposable and not special at all. It is overwhelming the amount of $#*!ty items they have brought in. Id rather have less items put out every year thaat are high quality and beautiful than all of this. I stopped going in the store a couple years ago because it just got worse and worse. I know I can't be alone in feeling this way so I wanted to share my thoughts to connect with others who may feel the same. I am heartbroken my favorite store is gone. I hope one day the higher ups listen and magic of the store comes back. - heartbroken anthro girl
I have been shopping at anthropology and urban outfitters since I was a teenager. I love it! This all started when I kept receiving wrong items and I was pissed off being told that I had to go to the post office and send them back because its not my problem! And its as if they dont make enough money? Like isnt it considered a gift on behalf of their mistakes? So that took time out of my day. Then they put my account on hold which I have read nowhere in their policy all because they couldn't locate the returned wrong items they sent to me. I called multiple times and I was treated like I am a criminal. They were blatantly rude to me when I was nothing but nice even offering to pay for the wrong items that they sent to me. Im wondering if I should just never shop at these stores again.
I have ordered item from them on 7/12. The product page stated that it would be delivered within 3-5 days.
After about 4-5 days I have recevied email that order was shipped with the tracking number provided. Not quick turnaround but ok, everyone are busy now during peak season. After another 2 days I have checked tracking and I found the parcel has not even been picked by the carrier, so I decided to contact them then.
For my first contact email which was my reply to their order confirmation (so all order details were included), they have replied after about 3-4 days that I have not provided order number in my message so they are not able to find my order, so I have replied to them with my order number which was included anyway in my first message. Then after another few days of waiting they have replied that my order is delayed. Wow! Thanks for telling me that as otherwise I wouldn't be aware of this! They have said it will take another few days to investigate.
Today is 19/12 and order is still not delivered. I have contacted their support several times and they only reply with few days delay plus their replies are a good joke.
I really regret ordering with them. The product I ordered was a Christmas present which is unlikely to be delivered before Christmas, so will seek for full refund which will cause me wasting even more time fighting with them for a refund now.
I purchased these corduroy pants last season and only worn them a few times and look what has happened with the button holes….poor quality and made in china. Asking high prices because of the name not the quality. Disappointed
Anthro used to be a go-to but I will avoid them from now on. Ordered a jumpsuit on 9-21. Didn't ship til 9-27. STILL in transit today, 10-5 and no delivery date provided. They use a really crummy shipping company and this is not the first time I have waited a month.
More than that though, the product quality is NOT worth the price. Price point is way too high for such crummy clothes- poor fit and design and cheap fabrics. Just avoid Anthro now they really suck
Anthropologie - great clothes if you can get them and if (good luck) you can reach customer service. For years, Anthropologie was my "go to" choice for interesting, fashionable, "different" clothing items. But lack of service sent me to Saks, Banana Republic, Not Your Daughter's Jeans, JCrew, and other competitors, especially online.
Today, I decided to give it one more try because there were a few items I couldn't find elsewhere. Late last night (wee hours), I placed a major order. I woke up to find it was canceled! No explanation - canceled the entire order of over 10 items (not on sale). I tried to call customer service and was on hold for 40 minutes, then disconnected. I called back and selected the option for Anthropologie to call me back: never happened.
Then, I placed an order for three of the items - and it seems to have gone through. Separately, I placed an order for one more item - three times - and three times got a cancellation with no reason. I finally called the local store that told me the item is on back order (I knew that from the information online but placed the order - willing to wait).
OK, so these days, real customer service is hard to find. But Anthropologie seems to have reverted to a business model characterized by disdain for the customer, arrogance about its ability to get business with no customer service, and a total disregard for all of us whose money enables it to exist. Well, not this customer - not any more.
I cancelled an online order within one minute of making it, and two days later I still do not have my money back. When I call customer service they say that its my cc bank's fault. I called my cc bank and they said it is not their fault that Anthropologie could of course give me the refund immediately. They still have my money even though I cancelled the order two days ago. Please do not shop here, they have terrible customer service and do not care about your money or your experience. I am going to have to dispute the charge to get my money back.
What a treat to be waited on by Shelby and all other sales associates at Anthropologie UTC. Thank You!
I purchased $700 worth of clothes and PayPal choose the wrong payment method and PayPal stated Anthropologie pics that cord out, which I did not authorize. I called PayPal and ask them if they would change out my work card to my personal card to get this matter taken care of and they told me to contact anthropology and anthropology they would not swap cards for me so I had to go into the store return the items to get the stuff charged back to my work credit card from my work credit card to my personal credit card and this all could've been resolved now since I have did that they told me that PayPal put a security left on my account. Anthropology told me this and then I am PayPal said that they did no such thing and I am Holly upset and I have tried to call Anthropologie like 10 times and I have sent numerous emails and nobody will respond to me and I'm Holly upset that there is a lift on my account for a something I did not do and for be this was brought on by PayPal an anthropology for picking the wrong card because I specifically said which card number I wanted to use I will never do business with these cracks again
I wrote a review in their website but they don't want it to appear on there apparently as a week later it hasn't been uploaded! Poor quality table received with spilt wood on the table top and poor join on the circular base. Also paid £59 for delivery to room, to be unpackaged and no assembly required and was left with the table top in the box in the hallway and base boxed in the garage. When I contacted them they said their website was wrong… 6 weeks later and it still advertises the same. Not the service or product I expected - think twice before ordering from Anthropologie
Anthropologie has the absolute WORST CS of any Store I have EVER called in my life! Absolutely HORRENDOUS! ANNNND there is no higher Dept you can call when this HORRIBLE, so called, CS fails You! I don't expect everywhere to be as good as Nordstrom, but this is worse than the Dollar Tree! It's enough to make you NOT shop ANTRO, or FP! How do they stay in business with this % kind of CS!
I've been trying to purchase 2 items from a bridal registry that links to Anthropologie. I won't bother describing the inefficient selection process, but every time I put through a purchase, about an hour later I get an email saying the order has been cancelled. After 4 to 5 times of trying different ways to find and fix the problem, I finally called them. The very nice representative told me Anthropologie cancelled the order because they needed more information to create an account for me. I don't want or need an account, just to make this purchase! But they say an account is necessary and the ONLY remedy is to wait for 72 business hours while they look at what information is still required to create the account. Meanwhile, they won't hold the items I'm trying to purchase while they do this. What utter crap! Why doesn't their website request this essential information? Why don't they send an email asking for this information? I asked these questions, and was told they were waiting for me to contact them! How do you spell ineffective? Anthropologie. Trying to be helpful, they suggested I find a friend with an account who could order the items for me. Ha! I am going to give cash to the bridal couple and screw you Anthropologie!
I purchased a top online, in the store. An employee did the sale for me. Right afterwards, my daughter's credit card had a $316 charge on it. She has never shopped at Anthropologie. She protested the charge, the company determined it was truly fraud and credited her card back. However my purchase never arrived. I called customer service and was told I am 'forever banned from ordering online from Anthropologie' due to the fraud on my daughter's card. Btw she is an adult and has her own credit card. Customer service told me that I would have to pay the fraudulent charge on my daughters card to be able to order again. What the heck?
I ordered earrings online as a gift at Christmas. They came in broken and when I attempted to return them in the store was told not to, and I would have to use an envelope being sent to me... Envelope never appeared, I tried calling in 2 times to follow up but after being on hold for over 30-1 hour gave up both times. Recently placed an online order for a dress and it came back canceled. I thought I hit the button wrong so I re-ordered it. Went to follow up to see when it would arrive and saw it too was canceled. After 2 phone calls, (both waiting for over 20 minutes to talk to someone) found out that because I had never returned the earrings my account had a hold on it. One that I had never been communicated about despite my best attempts at making it right. Also found out that because it was after 4 pm there was no way to receive my dress in time for the event I was planning on it for. I live in a rural mountain area and have no way other than online ordering to get nicer things. The way that Anthropologie set up their online ordering operationally, sets them and their customers up for failure.
Answer: Easy to get ahold of- but expect rudeness and complete lack of caring from 95% of the employees.
