Their products come under the name Anthropologie, but the prices are cheap. You'll see it on the quick tabs bar with pictures of clothing. Once you click on one of those, then everything looks like an Anthropologie site. Once you make a purchase, then the site disappears. You can "site not opened" (https :// ywzwhitestuffsale.myshopline.com/password?redirect_url=%2F*******445%2Forders%2F*********************%2Fauthenticate%3Fkey%3Dc6c1a6a*******e3e567a3f762e486c3%26orderMark%3D196A81DF4CED9DBE166C831BB45DF9EFD6EDF4ACA33FFDE647C95FA*******C&key=c6c1a6a*******e3e567a3f762e486c3&orderMark=196A81DF4CED9DBE166C831BB45DF9EFD6EDF4ACA33FFDE647C95FA*******C) and that you can only make a complaint to *******@126.com. (the button that says "check order detail" takes you to the link I've embedded above.) Also fake. They "send" the package out via FedEx, complete with a picture to another address, and then everything disappears. Be very careful!
Fake Site
Package never arrived. this is a fake site. Please see details in the review. It is a fake site that uses the Anthropologie brand to steal your money.
Bought a pair of boots which I really wanted from Anthropologies on the 8th March this year. They didn't have them on the UK site so I ordered them from the USA and decided I like them so much I would pay for the import fees and tax etc.
Three weeks late they arrive, which is fine because the package had to clear customs and I was charged the import fees, handling fees and expensive postage – all fine. I open the box only to find out that the wrong shoe size has been sent to me. Anthropologie / Urban Outfitters (same company) advertise the fact that they will cover the return postage if the items are not suitable, which they were not as the wrong size was sent.
I call customer services who tell me their return label portal isn't working and to call back for a return label. After 2 and a half weeks of repeatedly calling America (yes the UK customer service team are US based), they tell me to pay for my own postage via Royal Mail and they will refund me the cost of the postage. I do this and get a refund for the boots only which I send back.
I then have to write myself to HMRC Customs to claim the duty fees back (£100.00 +) and prove I have returned the boots back and, prove I have received a refund. Pictures had to be taken and documents sent. I had to do this twice before I received the refund and I never got my handling fees back from them which Anthropologie refused to refund even though it was THEIR mistake in sending me the wrong boots.
I spent months chasing the postage fees, I have made 30 + calls to the US customer service team costing me a fortune, and eventually in March they sent me a cheque claiming they could not do a refund transfer electronically. My bank was going to charge me more than the cheque was worth just to convert the amount from dollars to pounds, so the cheque was worthless to me. Again about 10 more calls, at least 25 emails sent and only a response that a new cheque for $80.00 covering the bank fee would arrive. We are now in OCTOBER – no cheque, no response from the customer service team and I am out of pocket about £100.00. They offered to give me a 30% off voucher which only lasted a couple of weeks as 'compensation' as if I'd actually want to shop with this company again.
It's complicated as Anthropologie are part of Urban Outfitters and so the company act as one unit but are basically the same organisation.
Utterly, utterly shameful and disgraceful service. I shop for everything online and never have I been treated in this way by any company I have shopped with.
8 months since purchase and no action by Anthropology to make things right.
These people are technically thieves. I literally have no words at how upset and appalled I am by the way I have been treated as a customer. None of it my fault. I have done everything by the book.
Stay well away
Shies
Just be aware they will charge you the item you returned 6 months later and put you in their blacklist. I would give -1 star if I could.
I've always a very loyal customer of Anthropologie, I've been frequently shopping on their site and stores since 2013.
I even bought my wedding dress there. On 4/22/2020 I bought a couple of things including one BHLDN dress size 2. It wasn't my size but I still I want to give it a chance, I didn't know that was a beginning of a big mistake. Long story short I returned the dress with another 3 items, I have the record from USPS, return slip.
However, 6 months later I saw there was a new charge $130 from Anthropologie, I felt weird because I didn't shop on their site that month.
And after I talked with them I just realised that they claimed they didn't receive the dress I returned so they charged from the credit card I used, after 6 months later. Why would I keep that dress? I just tried them on for fun. I bought my wedding dress from BHLDN, they should have my record, all their collection even size 0 is too big to me, I had to alter it after I bought it.
I swore to GOD I returned that dress.
And more than that dress. I returned overall 3 items, put them in the same box, they received the rest of them but not the dress? I asked them to give me the proof the dress wasn't in the box or the weight record of the package from the post office. They couldn't provide.
To me, charge me for something I don't own, it's stealing!
Second, if they didn't receive it they should contact me immediately or even just before they charged me, not charging me 6 months later without any notification. I contacted them at least 3,4 times they always tell me it's a systemic error and they'll refund me but it never happened.
What's even worse is after they charged me for the item I never have, they put me on their blacklist. While I'm still waiting for their investigation for a month, I found all the recent orders I placed have been canceled. The orders that I spent hours shopped on their site, they cancelled it with no reason.
I tried to contact them many many times, of course, they never contact you back after they "investigate" as they promise. And now I can't even place any order on their sister company Urban Outfitter!
I can't believe they are this evil, this is definitely the worst shopping experience I ever have, especially I loved this brand so much and it accompanies me for so many years. But it's time to say Goodbye, this world is never lack of good brand.
Only the ones value and honest to their customers will be successful.
What is wrong is wrong, I'm not going to open the dispute and give them the money for the item I never own just for shopping on their site. They are a thief.
As so many similar awful reviews I read about Anthropologie I can foreseen in the soon future they'll lose a ton of their loyal customers they've been working so hard on for years soon.
First I will say that I have shopped Anthropologie for years, and I truly find their items trendy. However, with that said, I feel that their sales tactics are extremely unethical. I have had several instances of this, the latest being: I purchased 3 items totaling $110.00 on sale.
I actually hesitated because I have had them lower pricing more than once per sale. In this particular instance, the 3 items had just shipped, and I viewed them in tracking, only to notice these 3 items were marked down again by 25%. Which was a $30+ savings. I called because the items JUST went out that day, and I asked them to credit the monies. They indicated they would, but then, I got a note the next morning from their customer service dept, saying they would not honor the agents promise, because their new policy was NOT to credit sale items. So, I said, "are you really going to make me send back the items, and reorder them today at the discounted price? Just so I can get the lowest pricing?". The answer was a resounding YES. I said, but that doesn't make sense. You would rather take back these 3 items, unpack them, restock them, and re log them into your system, and then pick, pack and ship the exact 3 items, regardless of the added expense on your part? Again, the answer was YES. Not only did I find this incredibly argumentative, rude, and combative, but, they were basically saying - "sure, go for it, it's your problem". I guess they figure I won't return the items out of principal. But, I will. At this point, it wasn't about the monies, it was about their unethical philosophy.
I asked how many calls like this they received. The supervisor I insisted on talking too, said they have forwarded 1000's of these complaints to corporate, but they were standing behind the new policy.
So, this is the deal. Anthropologie puts something on sale once, twice, or three times, whatever it takes to get the product moved. They know that people caught on, hence the change in policy. I simply asked - why don't you just put it on sale once, and be done with it, already knowing the answer. They want to get every sucker they possibly can to purchase as high as they can before doing a rock-bottom price. From a business perspective it may make sense. But, as a once loyal customer, they just lost me and a couple of my friends. And, I have a blog that I am writing this up on as well.
So, a word of warning. If you are going to purchase on Anthro, and you don't care about the fact that you will most likely pay higher than you need too, than go for it. But, to be treated poorly because I was on to them, was just bad customer service. I give them a 1 in that area.
