Daily deal sites cloning groupon are popping up so fast I can't keep track of all of them. I think the problem with townhog and daily deal sites in general is that their cut of the revenue is so high that when businesses make these deals they are doing it soley to attract new clients and taking a huge hit so they will need to upsell the client to make a profit. I experienced this first hand when I did a daily deal for a photography session. It was dirt cheap at 20 bucks for an hour session, but at the end of it, they only gave me low resolution files and said if I wanted the high res ones I needed to pay extra. I don't think these daily deal sites are here to stay once people understand how they work and don't get a great deal they will stop using them. But the restaurant deals on townhog are actually not bad and I did use it for that. I think that concept works better.
See's candy as a featured auction item to be sold on picklebid version of a penny auction? I just don't know what to make of these new auction websites and how to review them when they are selling chocolates online. I mean ipads, ipods, iphones and HDTV on auctions all make sense to me... but chocolates? Sorry I think I will pass and while these sites are pure gambling it does makes sense to gamble on an ipad, but on See's Candy? I just don't get it.
Bidrivals is yet another one of the million penny auction sites out there selling everything from ipad auctions to LG HDTVs. Auctions for MP3 players are also there. But where this site differs is that they also have bizzare cheap things like women's shawls or purses without a major brand name. I am not sure why they are auctioning off items I think most people could care less about except perhaps these items people actually WIN and then they buy more bids thinking they can win that LG HDTV. That is just pure speculation, but if it is the case then perhaps they are on to something. You see many of these sites have reviews where people complain they win nothing, on this site you may win that women's shawl if you bid on it because who really in the end wants that shawl anyways
Catchbids.com is another penny auction site that has really cheap items for sale like burger king gift cards. That I have not seen in a penny auction site or any auction site for that matter. Catchbids doesn't stray from the typical formula of luring in new consumers with cheap dollar amounts, but they are more unusual in that they have such cheap items for sale. A cheapbid auction on this site seems to have significantly lower priced items. Still it is gambling IMO and I think these sites should all be regulated by the government.
I tried logging on to their service but their english was so bad it was scary... not that I have anything against gold sellers based in China but I do like to minimize my risk. I read the article on sitejabber for world of warcraft and I suggest you read it too. Don't want to lose my money to WoW scammers again.

SELL OUT! I can't believe they started to become a groupon just to make a quick buck. They couldn't figure out how to make money on their own by selling ads to business or doing what the news called extortion, so they copied groupon? If you want to find a good place to eat go with Michelinguide.com.
C'mon... penny purses? Really? The only thing missing will be the money in your purse. If you are even thinking about participating in a penny auction that is selling products for 95% off and you think you have a good chance of winning I recommend you reading this article first

Yet another penny auction trying to get money out of people wanting cheap items. Play the lottery people... win more that way. Same thing. If you are contemplating this website read this first

I think 90% of these sites just the iphone4 as their main draw, I wonder if that is the most effective thing and what people really want for 5 cents. Nice site design for a penny auction site. If you are going to play, make sure you understand the concept.

I question penny auction sites that really only sell gift cards. It seems as if they are too small and have not developed relationships with larger vendors. Or it could mean they might actually ship the cards if I win. Tough to say. Check out this article before you attempt to win one of these cards

I will say this penny auction has more style than the 1000s of other ones out there. Still not sure how to really trust these things when nobody audits them. They would actually do much better if there was some goverment run agency to verify these things just like gambling sites or lotteries are state regulated. Still if you are going to spend your money on these things make sure you read this first

Penny auctions are advertising on google all over the place and someone really should start regulating these gambling type sites. Who is to say who is really winning these items? I think states regulate sweepstakes and lotteries but these go unchecked. Read this review before participating.

Winning a cruise for 5 cents seems like a great deal... so does that BMW on top of the slot machines in vegas. Read this review of penny auctions before you decide to throw away your money. Dont get screwed like me

An ipod nano for 15 cents... yeah a little too good to be true. Again a slot machine turned into an internet site. I can't believe how many of these penny auction sites are popping up. They must make people rich. Read this review before participating so you know what you are getting into.

I still say most of these sites are more like gambling than a traditional auction and anyone looking at these types of sites really should do more investigating before spending hard earned money. I found this review of penny auctions pretty good.

This is like ebay but with no morals or rules or regulations. They allow clearly selling illegal products such as replicas (they even allow sellers to advertise as replicas). I saw someone advertising "fake channel"... the problem with a site that is operating illegally is that if they are going to allow fake replicas to be sold, how good will their customer service really be to you the customer when you don't get your item shipped to you? They are operating outside the law as it stands so don't expect them to really care about the customer
While penny auctions are pretty much all gambling this particular site has got on the band wagon of giving your bids back if you BUY the product after you lose on it. Of course you are not getting the product for a good price, you are getting it for probably full MSRP and it is probably a product you wouldn't buy to begin with except for 1/1000th of the price.
Seriously? Is groupon so hard up for new deals that they want to try to encourage people to go on dates and make a baby so they can win some money? Do they think we are all lame sheep following the cheapest deal? Do yourself a favor, read the reviews here on sitejabber about groupon before you even go on this groupon date idea.
Great name for a diet website but they have very bad products. I was looking for various supplements that have been medically proven to cause weight loss and I see they are pushing acai as a weight loss supplment
http://store.ediets.com/Pure-Inventions-Fruit-Extract-Pomegranate-p/*******.htm
What a scam! Acai has no known weight loss benefits. Oprah and Dr. Oz even went out publicly to say their beliefs on the whole acai weight loss scam

Yet another hayneedle store out of hayneedle.com which is just a collection of websites that drop shop your goods.

Do yourself a favor and just google "Hayneedle reviews" and see for yourself why you might want to reconsider buying from this place
