Has anyone gotten out of a yellow pages contract?
After THREE YEARS of thinking we had cancelled our contract and having no contact (our ad had misspelled company name, didn't post logo, description isn't even OURS, wrong hours) we got a call from a credit union saying we owe +$6000. We are a small business can't afford this. PLEASE HELP.
Read reviews on Glassdoor of employment. Management is f****ing everyone over and holding their job over their heads to get good reviews. (Pictures with review) Shame on them. I hope you guys get out.
Anyone who got out of the contract, have advice please email *******@gmail.com
Its was a nightmare and hopeless experience dealing with Yellow pages. I signed a year contract but they will not allow me to cancel it and addition Yellow pages staff taking the money in my account without my consent. I feel helpless because they have my credit card and in addition Yellow Pages staff will take you to collection agency if I didn't pay. I agreed with all the victims of Yellow pages Stay Away doesn't get worse than this. You can sleep better if you don't do any business with this company. L. P. J

Big SCAM... do not book any Ads with the yellow pages... worst customer service EVER... never got any leads from their advertising. I have tried to cancel the service and they keep billing me saying that I'm locked in for a year... said I'm in a contract but I never spoke to anyone from their office... I'm not paying anymore bills and they're threatening to send my account to collections.
This dodo of a company has been harassing my clients, making recorded phone calls to entrap them into services I'm already providing (and apparently, they're terrible at anyway)! Their Terms and Conditions should be illegal, and the sales tactics they use should be a crime.
Stay away from, and stop cheating my clients, you bully of a company!
I talked with a salesperson from Yellowpages and agreed to sign up for monthly advertising with yellow pages. I sent in the documents for the payment plan and it was clear that this was a monthly agreement. As a small business, I have other expenses. Around 2 weeks ago, my account was debited for a full year of advertising. When I called to complain, they stated that there was an error and that a refund check would be sent in the mail but it would take them 4-6 weeks. I think this is their way of securing several months of advertising. The sad thing is, I have not seen any traffic coming from the online advertising. Just a waste of money. As a new web developer, I was just looking to help my SEO. But now that I see how they treat their clients, I will only be suggesting Google for advertising to my clients. While my business isn't great yet, it is growing... Very disappointed in this business.

They promise you the world and turn around and do nothing But bill you. When you try to cancel or tell them to stop billing you they will not. It took them 3 months to get my info online and during that time I requested to cancel as they did nothing to honour their contract. Worst company ever. They need to be stopped. Wish there was a 0 or negative rating here.

I have been trying to cancel an ad with them, as, I am no longer in business as a real estate agent. They say it does not make a difference, I have to continue to pay for the add. I am calling consumer affairs to see if that is legal. I can't believe this would be legal. There is never an attempt to understand the customer. I hate yellow pages, never purchase anything from them. It's not worth the headaches.
Hi Baljinder, thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the challenge you faced in cancelling your contract. Please contact our Customer Service team at 1-877-909-9356, and one of our representatives will be happy to investigate your concerns.
Where does one start... the contract? Theres a reason they have you sign one. Once you realize that their services are horrible, they use the contract as leverage. They will threaten to sue and use whatever measures they have to collect. This usually happens when you hire a credible seo company, and discover what can be done with your website to improve your position on the web. What they charge for the little they do, is outrageous. Save your money!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have a dispute in the system and after months of trying to get the issue through to them they finally sent it to the proper department, and let me know that the wait time to get a response is at least 12 weeks as they have so many complaints to deal with. Save your hard earned money!
Hi Lauren, we are sorry to read about your experience. We are currently experiencing a higher volume of calls than usual on our customer service line, but please be assured that we are taking the necessary actions to reduce our wait times. We invite you to reach out to us at 1-844-875-4290 to follow-up on the case you are mentioning in your review. Thank you, and sorry again.
As a small business owner had decided to list on YP.ca. I agreed to a month to month subscription and when I went to cancel was told that they had automatically renewed me for a full years subscription(payable monthly thru auto debit) without my permission or authorization. After more than six attempts to cancel was told that according to their policies, as I had not responded to requests to renew I was automatically renewed.
I had agreed for some ad information regarding advertising to be emailed to me. At NO time, did I agree to a year subscription.
Cant give a positive review and in fact would highly recommend that ALL: advertisers, subscribers and businesses give YP.ca a wide berth. These practices of signing businesses up without permission or authorization is: despicable, poor business practice and slimy at best!
Should be reported to Better Business Bureau for unethical business practices!

When asked why we are getting monthly bills from them, they said we signed up a year under them. When agreeing to listen to the recording they have, they either could not record it plain enough for me to hear the words or made it so that I could not hear it as they knew it's not my voice or what I said. I call them scammers, and will definitely NEVER recommend anyone there. It's a free world but when it comes to hard earned money it's not being handed out to some company who signs me up with no agreement from me.
Hi Martha. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We can very much understand your frustration. At this time, we would like to encourage a call to our Customer Service department to have someone live on the phone to address any concerns regarding this situation. Please feel free to call 1-877-909-9356. We would love to look more into this with you. Thank you.
Absolute dirty business. Never use yellow pages. We agreed to a 30 day trial but they signed up our seasonal business to a one year contract for a total of $3000! They mislead us and never sent us a contract. They also stole our pictures off of our facebook page. I'm having a hard time getting in touch with a manager but my lawyer assures me they are crooks and have nothing legally binding. They have my vote for worst business in Canada.
This company is cold calling and selling products to people that don't want or need them!
They are not doing their jobs, not staying in communication, not coming up on their promises, they bring in no business and are just selling a name, that now means nothing, very bad staff, liars, shady, and they charge he earth!
I subscribed for 2 months and got nothing to show for the 200 a month I was paying so I called to cancel my subscription. Next month they still charged me. So I called to cancel my subscription and they told me I had to pay the balance (there was no reason there should be a balance) then they said I will never hear from them again and guess what they stilled charge me 200 dollars. So I stopped paying and now the collection agency says I owe them money. But in reality they owe me close to 800 dollars. Yellow pages either sucks at their job or its a total scam.
First signed up with Yellow Pages about 8 years ago. I retire and try to cancel... what a hassle! They say my agreement auto-renewed and I owe them for 10 more months. I don't have an agreement with them but because they sent an email and one of my staff opened it, that's it hooked for another year? Total BS and they can't legally hold someone liable for 8 years!
Apparently you do not have the right to cancel your product even if you didn't renew the contract. Apparently, all they have to "try" and reach you 3 times and your file is auto renewed. I never received an email or a phone call. But they say they have record. I asked for the record and was told they can not supply it. Interesting. They have also turned off online reviews on Facebook because of the amount of 1 star reviews and complaints they were receiving. Shady business practices... Small business. Invest elsewhere for your business.
Yellow pages is cess pool of lies and poor business practice. You allow review on your website defamation without proof of allegations.
Mathew Poirier, Nicole Waters of Century 21 Neville realty are dishonest people.
Firstly I never got one referral or phone call from this service. They totally fabricate their results claiming that hundreds of people have clicked on your add. Well when I told the rep my google analytics shows something different he never had anything to say. Now I get harassing phone calls and continue to get billed even though I canceled my contract 1.5 months before it ended. The worst advertising experience ever.
Hi Didi, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We are proud to help Canadian small and medium businesses grow with a wide variety of marketing solutions. Over 8 million Canadians use YP.ca, the YP app and our print directories each month to find and connect with local businesses. Our team is always happy to optimize our clients' campaign to improve their ROI. Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. We invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290 to discuss this further. Thank you.
I highly discourage business owners from contracting with YP.ca for any type of print or digital advertising. They are scam artists, who lie, don't return phone calls or live up to their commitment. If you get a call from * - run for the hills.

These guys are now sending our business a $30 monthly bill claiming they were previously affiliated with the Telus bills and their "services" were authorized by someone who worked here for another business 4 yrs ago. I said we would not pay it and she said we needed to notify them 3 months prior to their printing and online posting. Total garbage, plus they had previously been calling the office constantly, asking for information. This should be illegal.
Answer: Hire a lawyer. They are scam artists... trust me. Stay far away from this company

Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
