Tried calling them numerous times. Can't get ahold of anyone. Tried claiming my listing with automated pin code verification. Doesn't work. Website and company is a joke and a money grab. Don't waste your money advertising with them.
They screw you over so bad! They do not do what they promise, but bill you anyway. Then they bill you for things you never authorized. Horrible company! If I could turn back time I would never have used them. I didn't get any business from them either.
I have a small business and they run my site for me. It's okay, nothing super special. But every time I need to make a change on my menus, I send in the PDF and often I need to speak with 2- 3 different people to get them to do an update as no one seems to know how to do it. Also every time they say the update will be completed in 2-3 days it takes WEEKS. I even have a reference numbers, but when I call to confirm why it wasn't completed in the time they specified they never have an answer and I need to go through the whole process a second time until I can finally have the changes completed.
Very inefficient and, I find that the people on the customer service line need a bit more training with how they manage customers, what products they provide and what types of promises they give.
Tried to find the Purolator location in Cambridge, Ontario... YP reported that it was at 20 Pinbush Avenue. Nope - it was 210 Pinebush and the map location was off by a few kilometers. This is why I removed all of my business advertising from Yellow Pages as they are AWFUL! Zero stars if possible. Stay away from these guys.
So today I went to cancel this years yellow page ad and was informed that the rep left me a message stating that if I didn't return their call then they will renew the service even without my consent. They will continue to issue me invoices and if necessary send me to collections if I do not pay. How does a company operate a business this way. I explained that I did not say yes to renewing my ad subscription and they said too bad, we don't care and that it is international policy. This company sucks and maybe we need to all start a class action lawsuit against them. Worst business ever, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I will have to pay another 1300 for absolutely nothing.
Getting in is easy... you get an upsell call and decide to try out their deal that promises increased exposure... but as soon as you accept, you are screwed. The bills are much higher than promised, and you can't get out of it because you owe money. So you pay them so you can cancel... but when you try to cancel there's nobody answering any phones. And then surprise! You can't cancel because you owe money! There's nobody working at this scam center but sales slicksters and collection thugs. Just save yourself the trouble and flush your money down the toilet. Its better than spending hour after hour on hold before getting disconnected.
I was using them for about 3-4 months I noticed that i was not getting any results so i asked them to cancel my account. About 6 months after that i got a bill for over $700 and when i asked them what it was for they said over due balance for 5-6 months. I told them again id like to cancel this and i did so many months ago. They told me once i paid thsi bill my account then will be cancelled.
But nope id say about 8-9 months after that i got another bill for about $1200 again asked them what its for they said over due balance for almost a year. I said well i asked you to cancel this along time ago. If i pay this $1200 balance whats stopping you from doing this again?. I got no response till today when a lawyer called me representing yellow pages saying if i dont pay $5000 my bank accounts will be frozen. What the hell is going on?
Very disappointed in yellow pages. Echoing what Cody J said and others, they make promises on what a one year contract will deliver, which you end up finding is absolutely not true and do not work but yet, won't let you out of the contract for not delivering their promises. AVOID AT ALL COST. Spend your marketing dollars elsewhere.
Hi Alexandra. We're sorry to read that you were left so disappointed in doing business with Yellow Pages. At YP, we will always strive for the best Customer Experience for our business clients. If there is any assistance you may require, please call Customer Service at 1-877-909-9356 during regular business hours as we would love for a second chance to assist you.
They stole more than $3000 overall when no real reason. I cancelled my account over 2 years ago yet got any bill for this month of $400. Hope karma kicks their $#*!, horrible people. God is always watching you take from innocent small business owners.
As many have mentioned here they are a complete joke when it comes to taking businesses money. They don't care about you or your business, they want to leverage there so called "domain" saying people are finding you online through there platform. Well guess what... you can put a free listing on there platform that people find you just as easy.
If ANYONE reads this... save your money and hire an actual digital marketing company. Youll have better visibility and it will be put towards a website YOU OWN... not Yellowpages.
Worst part is they never renogitate auto renewal... they just auto bill not clarifiying what people are paying for.
Terrible ethics on their part and above all else agent I'm dealing with is rude and unhelpful.
We had used their services 2 years ago for our business and then cancelled 1year ago,
I had the displeasure of speaking to Elias in accounts receivable who advised me that there was an outstanding balance and that I would need to speak to customer service. Called customer service and advised them that our account had been cancelled Dec 7 2018, to which they have zero record of I spoke to Nizar he has now indicated that he will be starting an investigation into it.
People I would strongly recommend that you file a complaint with your Provincial Government this kind of false and misleading action by a business is covered under our Consumer Protection Act. Regarding the misleading conduct of YP.ca when you are signing up this is the only way to have them dealt with properly.
After our big pandemic I decided I needed to cut back on expenses so I cancelled my subsription as I felt this was really doing nothing for me as they made it sound when I signed up. However I still recieved invoices so I called to make a deal to clear the debt to stop recieving there mail but yet I got another invoice for something so I paid it. A month later goes by and I get another invoice for a $1.01! Just goes to show theres no customer care. Just a bunch of automated machines that are running to print them money.
Thanks
Chad
Yellow Pages Canada contacts individual business owners to get them to signup for their business listing for a monthly fee and they promise you can cancel anytime. The reality is that after you sign the contract there is no way to cancel, and you have to keep paying no matter what.
The yellow pages rep called me about promoting my business on Yellow pages and I said NO, I asked him to email me the contract so I can review it, the Guy said "just say I agree so I can hold your spot for the month" till I review the email contract. He never send me the details and after a month I receive an invoice for $281.09 for something which i never knew i signed up and now they are saying it is one year contract. On top of everything, they are advertising wrong business name. Horrible experience and by the way I have not got a single business call from their ad. Will be reporting to BBB.
I have had problems with them since they were supposed to secure my domain name and never did then 3 times they were supposed to forward my emails and it still never happened. 2 times to change business hours and when the price went up I told the guy and he said it doesn't matter when I called to cancel today Apr 3 they said my contract renewed in Feb. And I could not cancel even though they have not fulfilled their end of the contract. I will be forwarding my complaint to *******@ctv.ca
READ THIS BEFORE ADVERTISING:
It started with a customer replying to our ad through their messaging system. We got the message: we just couldn't reply. This happened several times, and was reported each time. They told me it would take up to 24 hours, each time. Last time it took several days. We had no way to reply to requests for quotes. We looked very bad. Telling a customer you are sorry for calling back days later, and then saying the delay was because of yellow pages? Not sounding good right? They really, honestly, dont care. We are known for quick replies. Now all of the positive reviews are out the window because I have no intention of allowing Yellow Pages to keep impacting my business negatively. I asked for help. They cant even bother responding to 2 emails I have sent. I am getting my invoices from them regularly: that you can count on.

They lock you in contacts that renew without your consent. You also have to call 2 months ahead to cancel it. Fu*kin scammers. Just google yellowpage scam and you see they have 1/5 review on wvery website

Service? What service? You mean the online directory that no one goes to see and that the add you posted with the wrong information? And you want me to pay you how much? 300$ a month?
Hahaha, pathetic. Unfortunately, their sale people are good and agressive and they say things in a way that could be construed as harmless like not interested? No problem, give me your authorization to save this special price: 75$ for the next 10 days, you have 10 days to change your mind. 3 months later, you get an invoice for a service you never wanted, a contract you "agreed to" over the phone, 12 months, and no cancelation possibility.
They are the epitome of bad business, selling a service that has become irrelevant, on their way out, and trying to take as much as possible before they kick the bucket. Shameful.
Stay away.
Yp bunch of scanners. They renewed my ad without my permition and when contacted them they refused to cancel the ad. When I asked to speak to a manager the representative on the other side refused to transfer me to one. Customer service is suck don't deal with them.
Will tell you what you want to hear to sign you up. Afterwards it is impossible to get ahold of anyone. I have call 5 different phone numbers and no one will pick up the phone. Emails do not get replied too. They did not even put my correct phone number in the yellowpage ad. I total waste of money and time. I have changed my CC # and made a file with the BBB. This company needs to be shutdown by the government.
Answer: Hire a lawyer. They are scam artists... trust me. Stay far away from this company
Answer: Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. We invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290 to discuss this further. Thank you.
Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
