Dissatified Customer
October 10, 2019

My husband and I have always stayed at La Quinta Inns whenever we travel because we were always happy with the reasonable rates and cleanliness of the rooms as well as the service. We found out that the one in Jacksonville Orange Park, FL (which we had stayed in before) was now a Baymont Inn, both of which are owned by Wyndham, so we thought it would be the same thing. Well we were traveling with our 3 small dogs and the website said "pet friendly", so we went ahead and made the reservation. What we didn't know and to our surprise, there was a $25.00 extra charge per dog (we hadn't traveled with our dogs in a long time so we didn't know if this was a standard). We thought a $25.00 extra charge and $5.00 extra for each additional dog would have been reasonable (after all the clean up is the same isn't it?), but what do we know? Anyway, we were put in what seemed to me the worst room in the building. The whole room smelled really bad, the doors looked like they were the original doors put in when the building was built (they were rotting on the bottom), which is a pretty long time, the bathroom door wouldn't close and when I went to use the toilet, I had to wipe the seat because it was wet (I don't know if it was because it was dirty or if the cleaning lady didn't dry it after cleaning). All in all the room was pretty shabby. I will never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone else.

ROTTEN REWARDS!
March 10, 2023

After being a loyal customer for years and staying in your motels pretty frequently, people need to see the near constant trouble you have to go through to properly get your points!

Email #1:
Wyndham Rewards,

I should not have to go to such lengths so many times to be properly credited with my points.

For this instance I have attached a copy of my receipt in which you will clearly see it says I booked it through Double Points. I only received 1,000 points for this stay when I believe I should have received 1,510 points. I am missing at least 510 points and I request I be credited for those points immediately.

So many things through this program and your website still DO NOT work properly after years. Combined I have spent hours now requesting my missing points and providing you information. I feel I should be credited with extra points for my time and your continued errors. I've reached my end of staying at Wyndham motels any further until I'm credited for my time.

Email #2:
Are you BLIND? It was NOT CORRECT! Look at the receipt again! It says DOUBLE! I DEMAND my 510 points!

I also request points for my time and your INCOMPETENCE! After many years and being a loyal customer you're about to lose my business. Your customer service and satisfaction is terrible!

Email #3:
I also told you your system DOES NOT work! I went through the double points link to book the room and once AGAIN I was not awarded the proper points! Pay attention to the dates and the receipt I provided you.

I have been a Wyndham Hotel customer for many years and, given the cost, I have for the most part been satisfied with the acommodation offered and the service recieved.
However, I am 0resently in the Days Inn in Fredericton NB and I cannot believe what I don't find in the bathroom. ONE SMALL BAR of soap (See photo).
I am thoroughly disgusted, given the price of the room.
I will continue to use Wyndham because, as I said, this is the first time I have felt cheated and ripped off and I hold substantial points.
But the owners of the aforementioned Days Inn should have their franchise revoked.
And, as I have promoted the Wyndham offerings to others over many years, I will cease to do so.

Resort Presentation
October 21, 2022

I purchased two weekend packages where you have to attend a 2 hour Resort Presentation. The purpose is to get you to purchase a one-time vacation package for eternity. My wife and I were there for 3 hours. Their process was like "Good cop/Bad cop"... The first guy was nice and explained the program. The second was rude and tried using intimidation to get you to purchase. He would not accept any reason why I chose to not be interested. I do not appreciate being told how to spend my hard earned money. I was told I was wrong to want to buy something I needed over something I did not want. We checked their revies... guess what? Wyndam Resort program is not affiliated with the BBB because of too many complaints. Speaks volumes to me...

Upon returning home, I called to cancel the second vacation as I would not subject my wife again to that hostility again. Guess what... Non refundable as well as there is a cancellation fee of $95.00.

Just another way "Big Corporate" gets paid and the consumer gets it in the butt.

I will use my Wydham points but will never spend another dollar in a Wyndham establishment ever again!

Worst hotel ever
March 18, 2023

Liked · location was excellent other than that the lower building should be knocked down and rebuilt

Disliked · Room to small. No refrigerator in room, NO ICE MAKER in our building had to go to main building, Insects (spiders counted 5}, toilet did not flush to remove waste properly, not enough towels, mold starting on shelves in the bathroom, paint peeling from moister in the bathroom, furniture scratched, curtains had cigarette burn holes, balcony (walkway) to room DIRTY and puddles of water in front of our door for three days, the entire building had mold running down walls and hasn't been washed or power wash in months, light bulbs out and wall fixtures broken. The mattress had a gulley in it so you rolled to the middle, and the STREET NOISE on our side (the rear of the building) kept us up ALL NIGHT... THE ENTIRE LOWER BUILDS WHERE WE STAYED WAS HORRIBLE AND THE WORSE I'VE EVER STAYED IN,, LIKE A WELFARE DUMP HOTEL
Then trying to deal with customer service after the stay was a nightmare,,,, this is no customer service for complaints... nobody cared

This review is for Ramada by Wyndham Angola/Fremont located in Angola, IN
We booked this hotel because of the Wyndham reputation.
This Ramada should not be associated with Wyndham in any way, shape, or form.

This was a horrible stay at Ramada in Angola, IN. If you are looking for a place that has pee stained mattresses, old decrepit air conditioning units, dirty carpets and unsanitary conditions throughout, you are in luck! I know just the place! The owners are so ingenious, they thought of all different ways to make your stay more interesting:

- a rather large bar hanging from the ceiling, conveniently located at eye level so you can bump your head into it as often as you like.
- holes in the shower curtain. Maybe used for venting the hot steam from the lukewarm water
- toilet placed at an angle from the wall, because why not?
- handprints all over the headboard. Just imagine how much illicit fun previous guests had while staying at this place!
- Room air conditioning was a rare vintage unit that was even more authentic with all its lovely rust spots.

For bonus points, neither of our 2 room cards did work on the last night there. We had to wait for about 15-20 minutes at 11:30 pm for the guy at the reception to reprogram our keys after being offered an explanation about the smart phones in our pockets causing this issue!

The couple that we were sharing the double room with 4 beds with, chose to stay elsewhere. We downgraded to a smaller room since it was now just the 2 of us. This hotel declined to refund us the difference between the double room with 4 beds and a normal room with 2 beds.

All in all, a LOVELY stay at Ramada by Wyndham!

Takes at times 22 min. To answer

Not ADA helpful or respected

Lied

Yes I had a visitor smoking OUTSIDE, BY designated smoking area, next to my room and 1 other, there was a complaint of smoke, and they are kicking me out. I was needing to stay till 7/6 due to a house fire.

Also I admit I was not in a designated spot for my dog [never told about an area-found out today there was a spot] and they are saying for that reason also being kicked out

Also, hotel being paid for by insurance [10 days so far] and for the past few days told by wyndham corporation [ yet another complaint- reference#available] there may have been price gouging.and this said by their corp.

I am an elderly, handicapped, cancer patient [starting chemo again tomorrow] and it's deplorable the treatment/stress

I am going to report to ADA re; violations, report to BBB, and see if ch 5 news wants to do a story [they love human interest stories]
Also going to speak with an ADA attorney for follow up.
Corporate already called.

The funny thing is this area is a well known hotel for over night illegal activities and illegal parties/drugs.
Sadly to say I know of these stories by my 22 yr old famy member

We booked two rooms we were told would cost us $148.96 plus tax each. Only to arrive at the hotel and be told it would actually be $299.99 plus tax. Double what we'd been quoted. After an hour at the reception, much of it on the phone with Wyndham's "Customer Care", it became clear the issue was with the Wyndham reservations call centre. The hotel people were actually pretty helpful and supportive. But it was made clear that we would have to pay the higher price and take up the issue with Wyndham later. Wyndham did in fact check their recording/call log from when we made the reservation and realized that we were correct -- the reservation quote had been for $148 per room. You would think that was the end of the matter and a refund would proceed. No. It took more than a month, six calls to Wyndham Customer Care (AKA CUSTOMER OBSTRUCTION) and many more emails, ever-evolving requests for further documentation from Wyndham and more. Each time I spoke with them they had a different explanation of how the refund would be processed and what additional documentation they required. I am guessing it was in the order 8 hours or more talking with them, being put on hold, having to dig up further information on credit card charges, etc. etc. Their story changed with each person I dealt with. There was a lot of blaming their colleagues I had dealt with earlier for giving me bad information. When it is all done, despite a positive experience with the hotel itself, a good stay and nothing but good vibes from the hotel manager down (Antoine, Marc, etc.). The experience with the reservation and with getting resolution from Wyndham "Customer Care" has left me sure that if I have a choice, I will never use Wyndham again. And I am a regular traveller. Wyndham's loss.

Soon as I got in my room(109) I checked it for bedbugs n roaches. Sure enough! When I moved the fridge, a nest of about 30-40 roaches started scattering up the wall. I go ask for a different room, Jahan puts me in room 108 next door.As I'm in room 108, the security guard, Walker, literally KICKS in my door like he's the SWAT team demanding to see my receipt. I was surprised, scared for my life thinking someone is about to rob or kill me, and takes over 15 minutes for me to stop shaking. I tried to tell him I got moved but he didn't wanna hear it,"LET ME SEE YOUR RECEIPT!"Is all he would say.At this point I'm disturbed, pissed, all of the above! We start arguing, we eventually go up to the front desk where Jahan tells him he forgot to take room 108 of the list of rooms to investigate if ppl are sneaking in vacant rooms. As the security guard sees he's wrong, he tells Jahan, THE FRONT DESK ATTENDANT, to put me out and ban me, and Jahan does it. This was unprofessional, dangerous, and any other horrible word to describe this. Jahan needs to be fired for listening to the security guard and the security guard needs to be fired for kicking in a guest's room who pays their hard earned money to stay in.

Your policies
March 10, 2021

Your security measures are to strict, I recently purchased a new phone and I'm adding your app to my new phone and I've been a member since 2015, I have my platinum member card in my possession and because I can't remember my security questions you guys lock me out. I call your rewards app to get this sorted out and I give you all my personal information that you requested and then you ask me to tell you two places where I have stayed at your hotels and bear in mind I stayed last year, you think I'd remember when I stay at different hotels 10 months out of a year, I would assume with sending me an email to confirm my identity would suffice but no that's not enough for you guys Over at wyndham, it's worse than opening an account at a bank with your security measures, so now I'm stuck and not getting help because of the security questions which I am sure I lose all my points which in turn helps you guys out, since you won't have to redeem them, because of this issue.
Great job wyndham, customer assistance was not very helpful in finding a solution.

I stayed at the Wyndham in Tempe AZ. The GM is Josh Branch. I took the shuttle to the airport for a flight. Upon returning back to PHX airport, I called the hotel for shuttle pick-up. I was put on hold 5 times - the clerk saying she was too busy with another guest or some other BS. After about 45 minutes on hold and many calls later, the clerk told me there was no shuttle. I was told to take an uber which cost $20. When I arrived to the hotel, I found my car had been completely siphoned of all fuel. The day prior to this trip I had filled the tank completely however the car was completely empty. I had to call AAA for fuel (another $50 cost).
These people provide garbage as service and display a surly attitude as their "special sauce". They could care less about the customer. To top it off they rob you when your're away. Obviously, I don't know who stole the gas but the neighborhood is very low rent and mostly unsafe to walk outside. DO NOT USE OR STAY AT THIS PIECE OF SH^* HOTEL! These people cost me over $100 in stupid expense and nearly three hours of time by the time I was able to depart. A GARBAGE HOTEL AND ROBBERS PARADISE

Very uncomfortable
February 19, 2021

So my fiancé and I frequent Super 8 hotel in La Crosse WI on average of 2 -3 times per month being we live out of town and all of our affairs are handled in the bigger city. We always make our reservation by phone with Wyndham pay with our card in advance so there is no problems when we arrive. Doing such has made us elite members within the Wyndham program. Also to mention up and beyond us being Elite Wyndham members we also are former Marine Corp. Anyhow usually when we check in a younger gentleman is there to assist us he knows us by name and is always very through and gets us into our room without any problems. He makes us feel comfortable as if it's a home away from home. This time however we checked in with I would presume the owner or family of and he treated us as if we were Second rate citizens. Checking over our ids as if we had just printed them, studying my debit card as if I had stole it. Basically looking at us as if we were hoodlums off the street. Mind you again we stay at this establishment a lot. After check in took apron 15 min and he has finally given us our keys I ask for extra towels again as I always do and again he seems as if I've requested something uncalled for. He says like 2 towel and I say like 2 bath and wash clothes he kinda gives me the one over yet again and seemed aggravated I'd asked. Finally in our room my fiancé says he felt very uneasy and sorta disrespected as I agree with the way we were treated over all. Third shift gave way to a new person at the front desk who was very pleasant and talkative wish she had been who we checked in with. Unsure if we will return sad after all the time and money we have spent in that hotel.

Wyndham is a SCAM
March 27, 2023

The entire timeshare is a scam. They lie to you every step of the way. Each employee is a well dressed con artist. They prey on the elderly and people without access to the internet. Because if you had the internet, you'd see reviews like this - CLUB WYMDHAM IS A SCAM. DO NOT PURCHASE. If you want to get into it, you can find people giving their "property" away FOR FREE so that they don't have to deal with it anymore.

First point, they say that they have hundreds of properties around the world. FALSE. They have a few properties in minor cities. And it's hard to find availability. They buy cheap land in the middle of nowhere and build their scam centers.

Second, they won't give you your key until you agree to sit in on another meeting. And then they make you give them your credit card so that they take a $50 "deposit" that they won't refund you unless you show up at their meeting. And at the meeting, they threaten you and scare you and talk for HOURS. Even though they claim it'll only be for one hour. This already makes them liars.

Third, lack of transparency. During these meetings, they draw these weird little diagrams on pieces of paper to pretend to explain things. If you try to take a picture of it, they say you're not allowed to. Why would you not allowed to take a picture of something you'll spend tens of thousands of dollars on?

Fourth, they don't allow pets on any of their properties.

Fifth, they prey on your lack of knowledge. They thrive on your confusion. They want you to be confused. That makes you better prey. Easier to con.

Sixth, their hotels are old. They don't update their linens, and you can tell the bed sheets are 20 years old. They don't try because they know that people will go to their properties because you have to use your points.

Seventh, there is no availability for the good hotels on good dates.

Eight, it's crazy how these people can look you dead in the eye, smile, and steal your money. How can they sleep at night.

There is so much more. But at the end of the day, wyndham is a scam. Please do yourself a favor and SAY NO TO WYNDHAM.
