My first sale with Vestiare Collective was very pleasant, since it was easy and presented no problems.
I paid $800 for a vintage Jean Patou jacket that I was told was in perfect condition, no flaws. The "quality control" employee accepted the order and sent it to me. It arrived with several holes, many stains, and a metal pin through the front leaving more holes, and it smelled of smoke.
I sent an email to Vestiaire complaining they allowed a seller to scam me and I was told they don't offer refunds but I can relist the jacket and attempt to resell it- in other words make this junk jacket someone else's problem if I am even lucky enough to ever sell it.
What a blatant scam. I informed them I will not longer be purchasing from their site.
*** I wanted to add this update: I had also purchased a beaded and sequin leather dress that was suppose to be in perfect condition but arrived with many missing beads and sequins. Took months to get someone to repair it. I also purchased a Gianni versace dress for full price, was told by quality control that there were white spots on the dress and offered me no compensation on reduction of price- but when the dress arrived they were actually bleach spots that can not be fixed, not white spots that can be washed or dry cleaned out. I also purchase a wool Galliano skirt in perfect condition, and it arrived with a slash in the butt that I had to pay $65 to a professional re-weaver to mend. I purchased a Versace leather dress in perfect condition but arrived with cuts, rubs and marks all over the leather. I purchased a Mugler dress in perfect condition and it arrived with light areas on a black dress, so very noticeable.
I just repaired the items and was grateful for them. The Jean Patou jacket was the last straw. It is so old it can not be cleaned and repaired, so its trash to me.
What good is "quality control" if they don't actually care about quality in the least?
If you are going to purchase from this site, you may consider asking Paypal if they will help you recover your money from Vestiaire if they attempt to defraud you.
Great site to purchase designer clothing at a fraction of the cost. Good for the environment too. Just wish the shipping wasn't so much.
I initiate my urgent problem dated 2022-08-02. The customer service, Sheena, pretended to follow up and ran away eventually.
I have paid for an item and cancel my order because it has soglt to an other very disappointe keep away from the home page
Dear VC, you are applying a double taxation and this is not consistent with any regulations but just made up from you.
Please look at this article from the US authorities:
Personal vs. Commercial Use: Many import regulations only apply to goods imported for commercial - business or resale - purposes. For instance, most goods imported for personal use are not subject to quota. The one exception to this is made-to-measure suits from Hong Kong, which are subject to quota restrictions regardless of the use they are imported for. On the other hand, import restrictions that are based on health, safety and protecting endangered species apply across the board.
Note: U.S. Customs and Border Protection is authorized to make judgment calls about what qualifies as personal use. Several suits that are identical or a number of very similar handbags will have a hard time passing the credibility test as items for personal use.
For Commercial Purposes: Goods imported for commercial purposes must comply with a variety of special requirements, such as marking of country of origin, which vary depending upon the particular commodity. Please see our publication, "Importing Into the United States," for more detailed information. Be particularly aware that an invoice should always accompany commercial shipments. Concerning customs and sales taxes in private transactions.
I really wonder where all the millions you are taking from those holds are going. Totally unfair to all your buyers. That's why you get such bad ratings.
Please reply accordingly thank you!

This site is set to take custom duty plus sales taxes, which are the same basically. Normally is either or but never both! This is not compliance of any regulation, someone simply keeps those funds illicitly.
Contacted customer service but they don't return messages on this subject.
Every purchase turn out to be a rip off, paying an item 25-30% over the purchase price agreed with the seller! This is really not right and must change and refund.
I decided to list some of my higher end items on Vestiaire after having one good experience with purchasing in the past, & because Poshmark buyers lowball luxury goods.
If I thought Poshmark was bad, imagine my shock when Vestiaire began a price negotiation over a pair of rare Chanel sunglasses. Yes, other people have a similar style listed for less, but they dont have the exact pair in a dual tone colour... that also has all of its original packagingeven the receipt & a thank you note from my SA!
I listed them on Poshmark at $500. Vestiaire wanted me to drop to $292. I would only get $100-something. Guess what? I received an offer of $450 just before Vestiaire initiated their so-called price negotiation. I removed my listing from their site immediately. They dont do enough to warrant such a hefty commission. As a seller, if my item doesnt sell, then I can choose to lower it, but as it is, Im not negotiating price with these people as theyre not buying it! Its mine until it sells. I realize they have their tool to calculate a range, but hi, its called capitalism. Theres a market. Someone is willing to pay what Im asking. It isnt outrageous given the cost of Chanel sunniesand these are in pristine condition.
I was listing a bunch of my other luxury items, but I think Im going to pass & list on eBay & even list locally. Vestiaire had a great concept. Unfortunately, the concept is where it ends.
Take the site for what it is. If you dont mind not really being able to set your own prices, go for it. If your things are in excellent condition, sell them yourself & dont bother giving commission to them.
Have purchased twice from here and the process has been smooth from beginning to end. Zero issues. And shipping is fast!
I was pleased to find, as promised, the check for payment on my sold necklace using direct deposit to my bank!
Dear Suzanne, we thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us! See you really soon,

I don't understand how Vestiaire is still in business. If you set out to design a horrible company for resale, you could scarcely do a better job than these guys. Why do I say this?
I'm 0/5 on attempts to buy something as advertised from Vestiaire: 2 of them the seller reneged and never shipped. 2 of them saw the item rejected after 'Quality Control' reviewed and determined 'not as advertised.' The 5th was actually received--here's the story on that:
Bought a Kiton cashmere sport coat advertised as new. Shipped and passed Vestiaries' quality control. Guess what? 1. The jacket is clearly used; the lining has substantial permanent wrinkling only seen after MANY wearing's. 2. The lining center tacking is broken. 3. It has an ink stain on the lining by the left interior pocket. There are multiple stains on the exterior as seen in the pics, including a large (coffee?) stain near the front button closure.
Boy, what was 'Martine' smoking on March 19, when she inspected this jacket and decided it was indeed new?
So what now? I like the jacket, and figure even used maybe I can clean and repair it. So I reach out to customer service with the same pics posted here and ask about a price adjustment (which they tell you to ask for if you want to keep the 'not as advertised' item). The genius customer service rep, Paul, working off his standard script, replies:
"I understand that you would like to keep your item. We can offer an alternative of pressing cost, please provide us a quotation or estimated for repair cost of the item. After that we will coordinate this to our expert team if they will approve the cost."
Okay? How do I get a quote for restoring the jacket to 'new' condition? Kiton will tell me buy a new one from us for $8000. Okay, Paul, can you have your 'expert team' approve the $8000 cost to make this new?
In summary, Vestiaire has zero interest in taking any real responsibility for ensuring what they sell is as advertised. Unsurprisingly, they also don't require their sellers to take any responsibility for being honest either.
So, if you want to sell things and lie about the condition, this is your place. Buyers, I recommend Vestiaire 100% if you are a masochist and like having your time & money wasted.

Always LOVED Vestiaire Collective but now they are not paying me for my items sold. I currently have 6 items that were scheduled for a payment through paypal on the 1st of December and still I have not received the payment. I called customer service 3 times. The first time they up front lied to me and told me that payment had been made and probably there was an issue with MY account. Furthermore, I was told that my claim could not be sent to the accounts department before more time had passed. Like what? Payment was already 4 days late... today 7 days and still no transfer of funds.
I called Paypal and they said there was no problem with the account in question. I called customer service again. Spoke to the same person and this time I was told that payment had only been scheduled. This time around I am told my query will be directly sent to the relevant department. I call customer service again at the end of the day to ask if they have an update for me. This time around I have to explain all of it again as there apparently was no indication that anything had been sent on to the accounts department earlier in the day. Seriously? This should be really quite easy for you to find out and should be taken care of immediately. It has happened one time before but back then customer service were so friendly and payment was made immediately.
Day 5: Called customer service again today and still NO payment.
Day 6: No payment. And still no update. SO DISAPPOINTED!
Day 7: No payment and no update. I was promised they would get back to me within 48 hours but that passed already. What a disgrace...

Hi there, we are so sorry to hear that you have had a disappointing experience on Vestiaire Collective. I have forwarded the information of your payment issues onto the correct team and asked them to look into it ASAP. We will keep you updated. Kindest regards, Rachael, Team VC
For years I'm selling on eBay. Sold over 5000 items with 100% positive feedbacks. Found Vestiare Collective online, and decided to give it a shot. In two months sold 9 pairs of sunglasses without problem, but 10th sale appeared as nightmare. The buyer bought sunglasses and decided to return them because they were too small on her face. And she stated, that they are not as described. At least such explanation after several hours on the chat with representative, because representative all the time responded in two-three hours every time, was given me. I was sure that it's not true. In the listing I provided original photos of sunglasses and detailed description with all sizes. I asked to check it. But when Vestiare received sunglasses back from the buyer, they changed the reason of return. Sunglasses become non-authentic. These sunglasses were bought from Nordstrom and I provided Vestiare with copy of receipt. They also have unique serial number on one of arms. It's easy to check it, by calling to Fendi representative in the US and providing him with this serial number. They just had to contact Fendi at *******646 or *******888 and follow the prompts to speak with a representative. Inform the representative of your intent to check a Fendi serial number for authenticity. But they did not do it. I received back sunglasses with Vestiare label with Rejected stamp without name of inspector and date. Just yellow paper with something written unintelligibly. Here are attached photos. What a joke!
One more thing… In order to get sunglasses back, Vestiare instructed me to pay for the shipping 16 euros and provided me with list of banks in France, UK, Hong Kong, Japan, etc., but not PayPal, though which I received money for my previous sales. I'm US seller and sold item to US buyer, in US $, but had to pay for the shipping back in Euros, UK pounds, etc. I was forced to pay for international bank wire transfer extra money. That's ridiculous…
So, I'm done with Vestiare Collective. Just canceled my account today.

I bought a hat through Vestiaire Collective. It should delivery more than one week ago, but somehow the web loose the track information of the parcel and I have not received until now. I talked with Vestiaire Collective online chat. They keep asking to provide information, but when I talked about the problem, their agents just close the conversation, which really annoying. Then I upload my information and problem and send them e-mail. They said they will reply within 48 hours, or 24 hours (differen e-mails say differently), but no one reply me to come a solusion as they promised.
Vestiaire Collective prodvide the worst costomer service that I have ever experienced. I really feel very angry about their no response and their attitudes are very rude. Their service wastes a lot of time without coming a solution for such a long time.
It is really super bad online shopping experience. I will never ever shop through Vestiaire Collective. They charge such a high premuium and would not like do anything for customers. I really undersatnd. I hope any others who are shopping with them should consider such problems and risks with them in advance.
