I ordered a bunch of clothes from this site, most of which were a disappointment (poor quality). And, since they charge you $8.99 to shipping them back, I ended up keeping a few things that I didn't like. Ugh. The latest order included a pair of jeans marked "final sale" that arrived with a broken zipper (though they described them as gently used in good condition). There is NO customer service number, so I had to email them about the problem. I have sent TWO emails and still no reply from the company. Horrible! I will not be shopping there again, nor can I recommend them to anyone.

I tried using the goodie box service, and I loved it! The favorites goodie box was full of things that I had more-or-less picked out myself. When I do a larger order without this service I run the risk of having to return everything and building up store credit that I would rather have in my bank account. With the goodie box I only have to pay for what I keep. Which ended up being most of the box because it was great.

The items only have two pictures: front and back. This means you can't see the side of the item, and they don't take pictures of any flaws. I bought eight items and four of them had damage that they didn't disclose. When I contacted them (because their policy is that they will refund money if an item is not as described), they were kind of condescending and treating me as though I was being high maintenance. They continually told me that the items ARE used so they aren't going to be "super new". This is totally fine, because of course I was expecting to be receiving used clothes. The issue is that the flaws were not disclosed so I didn't have an option to choose whether or not I was okay with them. One of the items was listed as a dress, but was a shirt when I got it; they never commented on this. I was eventually able to return the products with the fee waived "out of goodwill".
I sell my used clothes on eBay, as a side note. I always take pictures of the front, back, and close-ups of any flaws. If there's anything, such as a hole or a stain, I don't even bother selling it and I will just donate it because I can't list it as "like new" with something like that on there. I will probably just stick to buying used clothes in thrift stores or on eBay because at least then I can see every flaw and know exactly what I'm getting.

It takes days to receive notice that an order has been shipped, and if there is more than one shipment this could spread out to a couple of weeks. I also feel the pricing has gone up, I can buy many of the items new for less than the prices I see on the site. Also, I have received items that were more used than "Like-new" but the cost and the inconvenience of mailing it back is not worth it.

I have been using ThredUp for a few years now. It is great when you know the brand and style you like and can search for those specific items. I've been very pleased with my purchases. I have sold a few cleanout bags and those are not as successful. I've had some bags that made money but some that made less than $10. It is hit or miss. I also wish they included a picture of the tag so buyers could get more specific information about the product.

I started using ThredUp a few years ago. I loved it then. It was a fast turn around on what items they were going to purchase from me for their site and I made a lot more money. Now it takes a long time (months) to hear back from after the processing department and I have made way less money on the items they sell for me. Its taking to long and not enough of a return. It's just easier to dontate them to a local charity.

My last order (two tops) was not as described, however I normally have good experiences. I ordered a shirt described as "gray" but when it arrived, it was navy blue. I bought it to go specifically with a pair of gray and black pants but I kept it because I could wear it with other stuff. The other top was described as "polyester" which is very easy to care for (exactly what I was looking for) but it was actually 100% silk. I liked the top and did keep it but it has to be dry cleaned. I'm hoping this was just a fluky experience!

Not only does threadUP keep clothing and accessories out of our landfills by re-homing them, but the quality of their items is great. Some are new with tags still attached! I have found their shipping to be prompt and the packaging more than adequate. Highly recommend.

You've been warned. I sent in items for sale before a big move. Most of the items were worn once or twice or still had tags. I liked that they recycled items that they couldn't sell, so I sent off 2 boxes. Not everything was selected, which is totally understandable. Some designer shoes I wore twice were actually not good enough for sale, but that didn't upset me. What upset me was the ridiculous prices they paid for the items they did accept. Everything was basically under $5. So I looked on their site for a comparison. The ugliest, cheap-looking items were at least double what they were offering me for items that were basically brand new and quite trendy. I helped a friend use Poshmark and she had a much better experience. So I would recommend it over Thredup ANY day.

Answer: Don't bother. I got 80 cents for a whole bag of good condition name brand clothes.
Answer: I've actually emailed their customer service to show them how many negative reviews there were on this site and they did not care at all. They just quoted their policies. I'm sure they will go bankrupt soon enough...
Answer: 1% but they trash the expensive stuff (or am not sure what they do with it) and sell the cheap stuff. So i sent 2 bags with over 20 items, and got total 25$. I had antik batik dress, anthropologie clothes, jcrew, christian lacroix, etc. and they trashed the expensive (new condition) brand and listed cheap things. I will not send them stuff again, it was very hurtful.
Answer: Because they essentially steal your clothes and then sell them for a profit. You get hardly any payout, but they gladly take all your clothes and sell them for a big mark up.
Answer: Of course buyers are satisfied. They are getting other peoples' brand-name, like-new clothes that has been stolen by ThredUp. Buying from ThredUp just supports their dishonest and shady business practice.
Answer: I almost always sell on eBay first. Then when I don't feel like hanging on to the clothes any more and just want my closet space back and they have been on eBay for months, I will send to thredUP. I don't even send in that high end of items and I will usually get $16 and up per bag. So to me, it's a last resort, but I usually can expect something even if it's a little. I LOVE thredUP for buying. Use their upfront calculator to see what items they take. They will say 50 cents to 1.00 per item so it is not hidden info. There is always the return option where you can get your entire bag back for $12.99 as well. Everyone who has nice stuff they'd want back should opt for this method always.
Answer: They sent me an email and put the money on my thred up account so I can buy something. I was do disgusted I gave up on the whole thing
Answer: Because I sent in 575.00 worth of clothes and recieved 8.00 in credit, half of them had tags still on them and were high priced items. When I asked for proof why they did not take them in they said they had stains on them. I asked for pics because they were brand new, they squirted water on them and took a pic. It takes a couple months to even get your credit and when you buy womens clothes, half the time I was sent stained or childrens sized clothes, TWICE is a much better company.
Answer: Honestly this company is not choosing to accept a lot of product that could easily be listed. I have sent bags and bags, including valuable pieces... cashmere sweaters, high end items of considerable retail cost and relatively recently produced. When questioned I am given the response that the items were not in as good a shape as they wanted them to be. That their buyers should be able to buy perfect product. My take on this is... if it's a 200 dollar cashmere sweater and the purchase price is under 10 dollars, a few pills on the fabric should be a non issue! Period. I question what is going on, frankly, as many do. Too much disappears with no explanation, many bags go into complete reject status. I genuinely am concerned that there is a story here and may become apparent after a while. Only time will tell.
Answer: Not worth it unless you have stuff priced over $40 and can get 40%. There percentages are ridiculous for lower priced clothes. You can order return assurance for about $12 but be prepared to get a bag back with your items stuffed in like garbage. They do not even take the time to fold things nicely even though you pay for this service.
