Have ordered from here twice. Both times have received clothes with holes in them and the last time, two of the items ordered were listed on the website with incorrect sizes, so they were too small upon receipt. They charge a $3.99 restocking fee for returned items, but that isn't fair when they mislabeled items or they have holes in them. Beware what you order.

I've used ThredUp for years, but I think I'm done. The past couple years, my bags take months to be listed. That would be fine if the payoff was worth it. It isn't worth it anymore.
Several of my items weren't listed and I was told this was due to them either being in "not the best condition" OR out of style basically. I call BS on that. I have never donated anything in less than perfect condition and I doubt my expensive trench coat that I never wore was "out of style" - go figure, that would have been my biggest payout, but I got nothing!
Now they want $14.99 for 11 week turnaround. Absolutely not worth it, when I doubt I'll even make that $$ back at this point. I'm done with ThredUp.

Chat function never works and they will not respond to emails. Charged a return fee for the wrong item they sent.

I literally spent an hour shopping on the website only to loose half my items before I could even check out. I understand they want to sell the merchandise, but this is outrageous, it's as if they penalize you for buying more stuff...crazy business model! You don't encourage customers to shop?

My item received was NOT as described. I emailed and tried to chat but no one ever got back to me. There's no way to get a hold of someone to get money back! ThredUP is a scam!

Stupidly I sent them a Chanel dress I was too fat for. They took seven months to process it, and then couldn't sell in six weeks. They then emailed me, asking if I wanted it back as it hadn't sold in the six weeks. I said yes, do, please send it back, it's like they didn't even try to sell it. But they didn't send it back. Instead they seized it and put it up on their website for $350, and I won't get a dime out of it. I wrote, complained, asked them to rectify their mistake, nada. They won't own up to their mistake and insist the dress is theirs to sell. They also mismeasure everything, overprice their resales, and are shockingly slow to deliver any orders. My advice, don't buy there, don't sell there, use Poshmark instead.

Be careful when shopping at ThredUP. Item descriptions are usually wrong especially, when it comes to the condition of the item. Then they will charge you $3.99 per items to make a return! In addition, I sent several premium items for them to sell. They stated they were not good enough and that they were going to donate them. However, a year later, I see all my items are listed in Excellent condition to be sold… This is a scam!

This was a good site to donate clothes too but now you have to pay outrageous shipping for the clean out kit that use to be free and then 10.99 to return anything they don't want I'm sorry but 14.99 to 22.99 plus 2.99 for a bag to be shipped to you is nuts

Thread up is not worth it anymore as a seller. I've sold to thread up a couple times in the past. The pay out was not great and they charge you a percentage of your earning if you don't spend it back at thread up but I didn't mind so much since the donation bag was free and they managed everything for you and recycled unsold clothes. Recently they've started charging sellers around $14 for processing and around $3 for a clean out kit. With the rate of payouts this is not worth it. I will not be using thread up again because of this change.

I don't know what is going on with this business. I used to like them, but now I don't trust them and would never use them again and that means, I will also never BUY from them again.

When you have staffing problems, the top brass needs to roll their sleeves up and help dig out. In addition, ThredUP should stop accepting ANY donations or clean out kits, but greed is a powerful force, I guess? I will NEVER sell or BUY at this company again. I would NEVER invest in their stock either. They accept your clean out kit, keep it for so long (unprocessed) that the clothes will go out of style or out of season and you will have lost your chance to sell your items. Then, they will not respond in any way to your emails and they will not accept a phone call.

Do your self a favor and donate to your local non-profit, sell at your local consignment shop and buy at your local consignment shop. Unless you can predict what clothes will be wanted and sold a full year in advance and don't need your sales income for a year, this is not the right vendor or website. Plus, how is shipping your donations in plastic or cardboard and using fossil fuels to ship them to ThredUp truly helping the environment?

Clothes are dirty, stained, and smell! Shipping to.return is.crazy unless you want store credit. Stay away from this site and go to your local consignment or thrift store

It takes months for a clean-out kit to be processed and if they take any of the items the payout is pennies. NOW, they want to charge for a clean-out kit! It would cost to sell based on the rates.

If you don't pay to have the items returned they get to write off the donations which continue to benefit them not you as a seller.

You are better off selling on Poshmark if you want to see any money from the sale of your items

I have sold to Thredup for years. You never know what they're going to accept or reject. You get pathetic pay outs. I just sold a pair of athletic pants yesterday and they paid me $0.30! And now they want to charge you &14.99 for every bag you send. Half the time, with their piddly pay outs I don't even make $14.99 per bag. Considering what they pay out they're making plenty of money. $14.99 on top of that is pure greed! I sold my first item on Poshmark today and I can't believe how easy they make it. Plus I got to charge what I thought was fair ($25 for a pair of cow print Hey Dude's only tried on) and get to keep 90% of that money. Thredup used to be great, but it's turned into a total scam.

I filled a cleanout bag with beautiful clothes and new shoes… sent it via USPS as instructed… never responded that it was received and their website does not provide me with the ability to contact anyone directly… literally Hundreds of dollars of clothes sent… I should have sent a small amount to verify their credibility…. But shouldn't have had to!,,,

Stay away from this criminal enterprise! They've stolen my clothing that they've had for 5 months! They keep changing the dates as to when they'll be listed for sale. Won't return emails so basically made off with hundreds of dollars worth of clothes. Update: they processed my clothing. Half of the items have the wrong measurements so they won't sell. For example: 25 inch bust instead of 32 and 33 on tops and sweaters. Also, a belt is missing from the Talbots dress so it won't sell either. Never again!

Terrible first experience. I ordered 24 tops and was sent 24 tops but of those tops, one was completely the wrong item [a t-shirt instead of the sweater I purchased] and most had permanant damage at the sholder area from what appears to have been storage issues from clips, or hangers, holding the clothing to some type of conveyer system. One of the shirts had what appeared to be a large grease stain at the bottom hem, again, not featured in the photo. All of the items I purchased claimed to be "in excellent condition with only light signs of wear, if any.", yet, not one would fall into this category, and several were damaged to the point of designation for "rag" use [the ones with grease, tears and holes]; i.e. Trash. So sad, I really had high hopes for this company and love the idea of second-hand.

The site has really gone downhill in the last year or so, both as a seller and a buyer. The quality checks seem nonexistent now? I paid for a "gently used" shirt that ended up being completely covered in fabric pilling and a pair of leggings with a ripped seam. Basically unwearable since these weren't issues I could fix myself. And the $15 fee to cover "rising shipping costs" is just. Wow. I understand that shipping is expensive, but $15 is sometimes worth more than everything in the entire box! Nearly all your items could sell and you'd still end up owing money. So disappointing, ThredUp out as a great concept but I guess it wasn't meant to last.

I received my package in December, the my 70 dollar dress does not fit (was marked as returnable which is the only reason I would buy it without trying it on). I have been emailing since December without ANY reply from thredup. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service, online it also says you can chat however everyday there is no chat option available and NO one returns my emails. Do not order from thredup!

I ordered from them on July 2022 and returned items them on beginning of August. They emailed me to update refund complete on Aug 19,22, but I didn't receive any cents show on my original payment. Try to contact them since November 22, but they keep silent.

I placed an order on 12/30. Package shipped 4 days later and as of January 14th, I still have not received my order. I will NEVER stop or buy anything from Threadup again!
