I was really excited to try swap but sadly the items i received didn't match what was shown online. The colors were off and some of the fabrics felt cheap. It's a good idea but they definitely need to step up their quality control. Not sure if i'll shop here again
Swap.com makes you think you're getting a deal but some of their 'discounted' items cost more than a new ones elsewhere! I compared prices and felt ripped off. Plus, some clothes arrived stained and smelling terrible. Definitely not worth it, and I'd rather shop at a local thrift store.
I had high hopes for swap.com but my experiecne was disappointing. The website was hard to navigate and the items i recieved did not match the descriptions. Customer service was unresponsive and i had to dispute the charges through my credit card company. This experience has left me frustrated and i won't be shopping here again.
I decided to give swap.com another try after hearing about their new platform. Unfortunately, the changes have not been for the better. The site is now cluttered and it's challenging to find items that fit my preferences. I placed an order but took over a month to arrive and when it did one item was missing
I was disappointed by the process. After sending in several boxes of clothes, I didn't make any money. The handling fees seemed unreasonable and the payouts were minimal. The worst part was the lack of communication from customer support when I had questions about my items. I'd rather sell my clothes on other platforms like Poshmark.
I tried Swap.com and their website was a bit hard to navigate and some of the items I received weren't in the condition described. The prices are good but they need to improve their qaulity control.
This used to be my go to site for clothing and shoes. Tonight I thought I'd take a peek at what's new and discovered no longer are you able to pick your shoe size, dress size, or another size! It's not even divided into subcategories like petite and Plus. Awwwww...liked it better 4-5 years ago when it was easy to find what I was looking for and there is not near the items that there used to be. Also, had to wait for a code via email to signing. It's been over 45 minutes and still no code, even asked for a 2nd code, you guessed it...still no code!. So long Swap. Back to Poshmark for me. Sad to leave.

The format of the site has changed recently and the prices are awesome but...the turn around time for orders is terrible. It should not take three weeks to ship out. You get paid what? Go on vacation for two weeks? After nearly 3 weeks my order finally shipped and the it is taking another 7-10 days? Back to thred up I go. Oh and custom service? Like a group of living zombies reading from a bad script. The past 2 orders I placed have left me speechless - almost. Ridiculous.
I ordered an Allbirds Running Shoes from Swap.com last week, and I was amazed at how quickly it arrived. The packaging was secure, ensuring the item was undamaged. The customer service was exceptional, as they kept me updated throughout the entire process. I had a question about the product, and their support team responded promptly and professionally. Overall, my experience with Swap.com was outstanding, and I can't wait for my next purchase.
On November 12 2023 I purchased three used cardigan sweaters for a total of $27.84 cents (they were clearance items) which included the $9.99 shipping well about seven days later I only received one of the three items I purchased from them and was refunded $6.42 but my refund should have been about $13 I sent three emails asking why they didn't refund me for both of the items but they refused they use to be good at customer service but since they have been managed by a different company they have become awful to buy from you never know if you will get what you paid for and their customer service is a joke. Do yourself a favor don't purchase anything from them you will save yourself a lot of aggravation
My account was transferred from T D Ameritrade on Monday. It was down all day Monday and partial days on Tuesday and Wednesday. An online service needs to be there 100% of the time so I close the account.
My original order had 5 items but one item must not have been available and a partial return on my order for this one item was given.
I received 4 pair of pants, all of which were supposed to be size 24. Only 1 pair was the correct size. One pair of pants was XS - Waist 24-25 inch, NOT SIZE 24. The 2nd was a pair of jeans which were 24 x 33 inch, NOT SIZE 24.
The 3rd pair of pants was brand denim 24/7, size 16W, NOT SIZE 24. All of these sizes were on tags on each pair of pants.
I wanted to return these 3 items due to the incorrect size from what was stated on their website, but because of the partial refund they had issued for an item that was unavailable, it would not allow me to get to their return portal. Also, the only contact is to send an email, which so far, has not been answered.
This is not the first time they have sent items that are not as stated on their website, but they wouldn't let me return or receive a refund for them. This is the last time I will order from Swap.com.
Swap.com has always had rough edges, like their clothes being delivered smelling of a moldy warehouse, inventory issues (wrong sizes, items listed that they don't have), orders sent out after 6-8 weeks! But this is the worst experience I've had yet. ~1/5 of my order didn't even get sent, because they didn't have it, and because they used the return system to issue a partial refund for that part of my order, I could not initiate a return for items that were the wrong size. I contacted support well within the 30-day window to report this and request a return, but I still have not heard back from any of multiple emails. I looked up their support number, but it isn't even connected anymore. They have gone from good deals with bad fulfillment and service to just a miserable mess that's not worth the trouble anymore.
Update:
I will say that I have continued to use Swap on occasion after that terrible experience, but due to their new return policy (and mediocre track record) I order from them assuming that:
- I won't receive some of my order (though I will be refunded)
- Some of it just won't be the right size or will be totally not as expected (but can't return them for money or credit back)
So if I find enough items that I can get cheaply enough to feel good about keeping half those items for the same price, then I'll still order from them. I've just GREATLY tempered my expectations and mostly look for cheap necessities and the occasional standout items I'm willing to gamble on; because that's what shopping with Swap.com is at this point: a gamble
I helped my 91 year old mother pack a box full of high end never worn or barely worn clothes and shoes. Swap com confirmed receipt but lost box during move. They kept saying they would post items. Never gave us money. Finally said items were lost and promised meager $100 but then never sent that either. Use Poshmark instead. Who cheats a 91 year old woman for more than a year?
I send them a lot of boxes. Although the cheapest clothes they put on sale, the rest of the clothes they steal from me. Shipping to them, plus return guarantees is expensive. The only thing they pay is 20% of sales or so. In other words, consignors are the people who pay Swap's costs for Swap's operation. In contrast, there is no way for a consignor who also covers the cost of shipping, etc. make a profit. Or just as you give away your product for free, plus you pay for its shipping. So, when I realized this myself, I sent them the most valuable clothing as well to see if I could fix the problem I found by signing up to sell with them. Mostly winter jackets with tags, a few hundred dollars the leather Harley-Davidson jacket, and boots were stolen inside of Swap. All of this was bought legally and was intended for my children's father, who never received these clothes because he was shipped off to wartime Africa and was missing in action for two decades. Now, after a long time, I want to sell his clothes as I only have one income and no penny from him being exploited elsewhere. I have no family or friends as I myself ended up in the US "unplanned". So if you get my message, what do people who really don't belong here go through because of people like in Swap? Your business hinges on outsmarting others. Swap ruined my life. They are thieves, rude, and disrespect me because of the thieving nature of some of their employees. Also, any complaint you make means little because the law is on their side. Because such monopolies want high expectations from them and don't care about the victims if it was something wrong with us, or other flaws in the laws. Therefore, they sweep victims under the rug, especially with last names like mine.
I bought 2 shirts, shipping is $9.99 and non-refundable. They did not fit. To return two shirt by UPS (their choice) was $30.00! Cost of shirts plus $40 loss. Not really a good deal.
I won't be back. I've shopped on this site for several years and loved it. Never had a problem. Then their site changed. I had credit that disappeared, an order that I couldn't return, multiple emails to customer support, most of which went unanswered. Finally got to return an order and like an idiot, placed another order. Received all but one item. The invoice actually listed the missing item as out of stock and was Icharged for it. Can no longer print return labels from the site, returns have to be APPROVED! Are you freakin' serious? They turned a great site into a disaster. Won't be back.
Search engines describe Swap as one of the best places. Be aware that they may sell you stolen clothing items. There were a few bags that I shipped with a return guarantee. Likewise, they charge for shipping the bags, only pay 20% if the clothes are sold, etc. I send them expensive winter coats and shoes in hopes that if they sell them, it will cover the expensive sales fees and the like "shocks". Unfortunately, their employees stole all the expensive items I sent to Swap. That's when I filed a complaint with the BBB. They can't seem to do anything about it, so they closed the case. I would like to say that Swap is not a company worth dealing with. They only want people to buy from them. However, they don't treat all people the same. There is something un-American about them.
Very disappointed. I sent In Clothes before their switch and nothing. No response. No help. It's a scam and I am out the clothes I sent in to sell. I don't know what happened during the switch but the ethical thing to do would be send me my box back.
Answer: I have only placed one order so far. I ordered 10 blouses. I returned 5, due to size issues. All 10 blouses were nice, but 5 did not fit quite right due to different manufacturer's. You need to get an RMA # for returns. I was promptly refunded my money for the 5 blouses. I would order again in the future. I am not aware of any return quantity restrictions. Hope this helps.
Answer: If you want to sell clothes, all the information is on their website. Basically, they get a percentage and then they pay you thru an existing PayPal account that you set up.
Answer: Hi Patricia, We are on about a 55-60 day delay in processing inbound shipments. When your items are processed, you will be notified via email that they are ready to be priced. Have you sent an email to our support team at assistance@swap.com yet? A member of our team can look up your account information and give you a better idea of exact when you can expect to see your items. Thank you, Lauren Swap.com Support Manager
Answer: Same here, I sent a box in June and have received nothing nothing saying it was accepted or rejected absolutely nothing. I've sent 5 emails and nothing. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
Answer: I don't think so. I've sold and from my experience it varies. The things that I thought would sell first, haven't sold yet. It varies by what people are looking for at the time. I've bought all different seasons at random times. I buy by what's a great deal. When selling, group like items together. I've noticed multiple things sell first.
Answer: Hi Jo, That is correct. You can return items that do not fit as long as you request the return within 30 days. We will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back your return free of charge. Once the return is received, we will refund your card within five (5) business days. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at assistance@swap.com. We are happy to help! Best, Matt
Answer: There's no way for them to go over prices. They have to see the items and determine from going over it, if it's acceptable, once it's accepted, then you have to determine the price you want to sell it for. You could try searching on their site for similar items and see what they are priced at. I did notice when pricing my items that I'd get a little notice with recommended prices, which was very helpful. I didn't have a good experience selling but many others have. Make sure you take pictures of your items, that's very important. I appreciated that their site is set up to allow you to take back your items if you changed your mind about selling them. I'm in the process of getting back my items. Hopefully it works out well and I get all my items back.
