Delivery

For the past 2 weeks I've had the worst experience with takealot delivery. 1st i received sms advising that my order will be delivered before 17pm which i left work early however my order was cancelled without been notified. Reordered nd my order was cancelled again without been notified. Today the driver was in my area but couldn't find my place even after i send her my pin location, which i believe that she was laying as all other drivers could find my address as this is not the 1st time i order from takealot. I called nd gave her directions, so she told me that she is just delivering to order and she will come to my place after the two deliveries however she did not come when i phone the driver she advised that she went back to the office. I mean i set at home the whole day for nothing whereby i had things to do... Im soo unhappy with this kind of service its really disgusting. My order is been rescheduled for the next day which means i gave to sit nd wait for a order that's not coming, that's how little faith i have as this has been going on for 2 weeks nw

Bought 6 sets of MEDALIST dumbbells via Takealot. Sets ranging between pairs of 1kg to 7kg. Upon opening of these MEDALIST dumbbells, it was immediately visible that the neoprene covering is loose, already falling off on some and crumbling inside the packaging (photos have been taken). I returned all of it, as received with tags in original packaging. Takealot however decided to reject 1 of the MEDALIST dumbbells with reason of "User abuse" but refunded all of the other. Upon lodging a complain Takealot rejected my honest review of the faulty items sold by them. Furthermore, despite evidence of item being new, like the refunded other items of the same order, which they happily accepted as their fault, they wish to still burden financial loss on their clients for their poor quality.
Luckily there are honest review sites such as Sitejabber that can grant me the opportunity to warn other about MEDALIST products sold by TAKEALOT!

They delivered 3 solar panels and I paid for 1. Did not meet my needs and I retuned them. Since then they don't answer calls and I'm waiting for my refund. Emails not responded to as well.

I had an extremely poor experience with takealot. It's sad that the only way of contacting someone for help is the customer service help form that gets sent to people that dont understand the terms and conditions for the company they work for. I had a refund put in for an order that used a coupon and the website clearly says that when a coupon is used the person will be refunded and a new coupon will be given to the person. DON'T FALL FOR THIS! The customer service agents do not understand this and instead just give you a voucher! You either dont get a refund or you dont get a voucher back! NEVER PURCHASING WITH TAKEALOT AGAIN.

We didn't receive the order and now I see the date has been pushed back *again*
We ordered the Dec 25th, estimated delivery was the 29th of Dec
Then when I checked again, it was 3 Jan,
Then checked again, it was 10 Jan,
Then 16, then 17 then 19,
Now it says the 20th,

I have never experienced this kind of issue before, being pushed back so many times but BOTH items show
"Eligible for next-day delivery or collection"
So how can this be happening? It makes no sense.
It feels like your website is misleading when it's stating this, yet almost a month has passed.

We have cancelled the order, but with this experience I don't feel I can rely on takealot in future and we will not be ordering again as a result.

I've been shopping with Takealot for years and so has my family. But starting today I will go out of my way to never shop with Takealot ever again, you will not get a single penny out of me for the rest of my existence.

I'll explain why, I know that when you "log a return" you won't be refunded unless you have the packaging, and in this particular case I explained on my return notes that I discarded the package as my intention was to keep the item but since I sold my tablet and couldn't use the item anymore I would have to return it, I SAID - please don't collect if you cannot REFUND me as I discarded the packaging.

Yet, here we are with my lovely little return declined, so I contacted your useless call center and talked to one of your *********** agents just to inform him the decline reason would have been because I discarded the packaging, and he didn't know up from down. So, now I'm out of pocket because apparently, Takealot needs glasses when it comes to reading returns, and the reason returns are logged.

So yes, I scheduled the return because I spoke to Mr. ***********, and trust me when I say this, I was willing to spend money in the future and provide your company with continuous support from my side. But I promise you I will head and warn anyone who wishes to join Takealot to NEVER purchase from you again.

For all I care you could keep the product and I would dispute it with my bank.

Please take care of yourself and hope you know you lost a lifetime customer over one item.

I do not expect to hear back from your company,

Still no concise information regarding my order with takealot, nor any movement on the tracking system or indication of delivery,
All your competitors are able to give a clear and precise delivery date, even SAPO has a more reliable tracking system and to top that delivers quicker too.
Based on your customer feedback on various platforms including facebook & hellopeter You can see that 99% of your complaints are due this lack of communication, unreliability and bad customer service all stemming from the same cause.
I have been a loyal customer since Kalahari days but with each order things become progressively worse. And it seems that you are in no way intent on heading the voices of your supporters.
This is really not wise as more and more competitors emerge offering the same products at the same or similar pricing with more effient delivery, concise tracking and better all round service.
Your call centre agents could learn from government departments, you tracking and delivery could learn from Sapo all in all im very dissapointed and feel ill be forced to take my patronage elsewhere which is sad for me given all the years Ive remained a client and all the people Ive recommended use your shop.
This is not on I was promised delivery within this week

I am writing this review for two reasons: 1. In the last attempt, before I take legal action to get my money back or my order delivered from Takealot. I also know that they do not care about the reviews written here, but one has to try everything to at least get your money back or your order delivered. 2. To warn people about spending their money online at Takealot. My warning: Do not buy from Takealot! Please spare yourself the loads of drama. I bought R3500. 00 worth of goods. Firstly they just cancelled one of my items and decided to keep the money for "any further purchases" without my consent. Then, after a heap of emails, I at least received that one item but the rest did not arrive. Then two weeks later, after a lot of emails, another item arrived. Then nothing. The rest of my items disappeared completely and it stated on their website that it has been delivered and signed for. Then, in email after email I was promised that it will arrive on a certain day, the dates kept changing and my goods never arrived. I still do not have my goods and I did not get a refund of approximately R3000. 00. Takealot loves taking your money, and a lot of it, without supplying the goods. Spare yourself a lot of tears and frustration of sending email after email begging for goods you already paid for and being lied to about delivery dates. They keep you under "house arrest" as they keep giving you delivery dates, you wait and no one arrives with your order. DO NOT BUY FROM TAKEALOT. IT IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY WHO DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

BEYOND PATHETIC IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

If there was an option to give a less than zero rating i would give it. Words cannot describe the utter frustration and disappointment i have with Takealot. Time after time i have purchased cosmetics from Takealot and every single time i purchase any cosmetics, eyeshadow in particular, the goods are damaged and broken. I have said this multiple times before but i am seriously done with Takealot. Another order was placed (Order #*******) and as could be expected the cosmetics were yet again broken. Its not even worth sending it back because the chances that the new product will be broken as well is 99.9%. I have thrown away so many orders where things were broken. They have no respect for anyone's orders. How incompetent are the people who pack customers orders? Can they not use their brain to think that some things have to be bubble wrapped or even wrapped in paper? They just throw your orders in an oversized box with nothing to protect it from being damaged. Not to mention the way the delivery guys handle the packages. Your packaging department should really go and get some lessons from Sheglam Cosmetics on how cosmetics should be packed or even Shein. Going forward i will warn everyone i can that they should never buy any cosmetics from Takealot. Rather buy it from the distributors yourself. Not only will your order be packaged properly but you will pay a quarter of the price as Takealot adds a massive markup on the exact same products and deliver them to you damaged and broken. Does no one take pride in their jobs anymore? How pathetic can one company be that they don't even have quality checks in place? We as customers don't get our orders for free... we pay for it. FINISHED WITH TAKEALOT!

Disgusting customer service
Horrible experience I received from Takealot. I regret shopping there. They sold me a defective Hisense fridge. I bought the fridge when it was on special during Black Friday, the other store had the same special. I chose takealot for convenience. Ohh I didn't know I will be inconvenienced so much. I reported the defective on the fridge and they sent a driver to collect it. I took time off work to attend to them. The driver came with a small bakkie and the fridge couldn't fit in the bakkie Takealot then said another driver will come with a bigger car. I waited the whole day and ended up calling them around 4pm to check the whereabouts of the driver. They said they will email me and call me back to advise. I waited for an hour and had to call again. Then I was told that the driver will come the next day blah blah blah. I told them I cannot take time off work again and wait for a driver that I don't even know the time they will come. They then sent a driver around 7:15pm. They then told me that the fridge will reach their warehouse in 2-3 days whereas their warehouse is less than 30 minutes to my house. On the second day they said they don't have the replacement and and they will refund me with the same amount I bought the fridge for. I refused because I bought food on Black Friday and needed a refrigerator asap. I also missed out on the same special from other shops and now I must buy the same fridge with a higher price as the special is no longer there. They did not care and just credited my takealot account and told me I can use the money to buy something else. I'm now sitting with bad food and have to add money to buy a fridge that I could have bought on special somewhere else.

I ordered 3 products from Take-a-lot over the Black Friday weekend. When I checked out and before I paid, I was taken to a screen to choose a free product, I chose a cheap chinese headlamp as the free gift. I thought that I would give this to my father for his birthday which was in a few days. When my order arrived, there was NO packing slip, the box had one piece of tape to seal it closed and the delivery sticker and barcode sticker were placed on either side of the tape. The box contained 3 x items. 1 x of these items was the free gift, the headlamp. The other 2 x items are those which I had paid for however the 1 x item I had paid for was missing. I complained to Take-a-lot. First they informed me that if the box was not damaged, they would not be held liable. I complained further, sending them pictures of how pathetically the box had been sealed, etc. I also sent them pictures of the free gift which had 2 x sticker barcodes, the label of the product which was missing and another barcodes sticker. Now Take-a-lot has informed me that I must return the free gift (which I have already given to my father for his birthday), and they will then replace the missing item I purchased but never received. This is blatant THEFT... I PAID FOR A PRODUCT WHICH NEVER ARRIVED and Take-a-lot has REFUSED to acknowledge that the product I PAID FOR was not delivered to me. This is DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR on the part of Take-a-lot. It is theft, they have stolen money from me

Unprofessional service

Very disgusted on your service, I got a present for my mother Blawless eyebrow trimmer and on collecting it when my mom opened the product and charged it, it went onto not been able to charge or operational. I took it back today sunday to the edenvale branch and the lady Pretty could not see the return item number on the computer and system and Pretty told me to come back Monday, I stated I have to return it tiday, as I work, been in a sarcastic manner Pretty told me to call customer care which I did and made sure Pretty heard from Conrad in the customer care that it was on the computer on the system and my husband stated that we were to leave the product there as my mom was leaving for kzn this Friday and it was urgent to be replaced and collected before Friday. I'm very disappointed in takealot Frontline Prettys manner and not been helpful at all. We have a letter signed and drawn up that Pretyy has the product and to put it into the system asap. It's so ridiculous that it takes so much stress and how a person is treated to return a product to takealot. I suppose it is what we order and collect that's quicker than a returned product on been rejected and told to leave as I'm not on the system, so unprofessional.
