Pathetic service!

I placed an order on the 31st of Oct. It was delivered on the 6th of Nov. I received the wrong item. I logged a request for a return. I receive an SMS that the return will be collected. The driver came the next day and collected. My sister handed over the items. She had also placed an order using her own acc and has items she wanted to return. Takealot doesn't want to refund me my money or send the correct item. This has been on going since Nov. Everytime I call or send an email. I get different agents whom I have to always start explaining my issue to. They all failed to assist. All they told me is that they will escalate. I've been trying to get assistance via mail. Telephonically through their Twitter DM. After sending follow ups, almost everyday.
The admin on Twitter just said they can't assist any further because their courier say, the item that wasn't handed over "I NEED TO CALL THE DRIVER" Mind you, I've sent a long email and explained to different consultants how I've been trying to reach the driver but his phone either goes to voicemail or rings without an answer. I even sent SMSs. Checked the driver's on WhatsApp. It is not registered there. I supposed they are saying I should call the driver maybe because the driver that came to collect my sister's return wasn't supposed to take mine. Maybe a different driver was assigned to collect the wrong order that I logged a return for. This is the most pathetic service I've ever received. How do you tell a customer to do your job? The driver works for takealot. He didn't follow the process. He didn't check if he has all the items he was supposed to take and if the bag wasn't an item he was supposed to collect. We wouldn't be here. If the wrong item wasn't delivered we shouldn't be here. Now I'm being told. I should call the driver and I cannot be assisted any further. The same driver I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CALL BUT CANNOT REACH. So. I should just accept my money being taken like that? To this day (21 March) I never received the correct item or my money back.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

On the 18th of December I ordered 10 items, obe of which was a packagae deal containing a phone, a phone cover and a screen protecor. The screen protector was delivered cracked and I logged a return on the 19th of December. The screen protector was then collected the following day. I was then told that I have two return all items which I politely declined as it would be an inconvenience because I was already using the phone. I then requested they return the screen proctector as it was because at the end of the day I paid for it. I have been told so many stories about one simple item since then. I have been contacted by Sinovuyo, Michael, Mivuyo and Tamsyn and being told the item will be delivered. How does it take TWO WEEKS to deliver an item they claim was with the courier when I was told over a week ago that the item has been prepped. I quote: "This is to confirm that the item has been prepped and for the courier to collect at the warehouse, you will receive a call from the courier to confirm delivery." Its been over a week. It took ONE day to collect the item but two weeks have gone by and it hasn't been returned. This is not even about the item anymore. Its about the insult to my inteligence and lack of correspondense. Just days ago I was told the item is on its way to me. I asked for a time... Then boom, I'm told it will arrive on Saturday which I know is bull**** because I was already told the item is on its way. Not only that, I had to send multple emails just to get a response. I had to log another return AND lodge another complaint just to get assistance which I still haven't recieved all due to an item I recived that was defective IN THE FISRT PLACE. Make it make sense. The service is really questionable and what's even more appaling is that four people have failed to have a simple screen protoctor delivered in two weeks yet they managed to mistankely arrange for a driver to collect the item TWICE when it had ALREADY been collected. I literally had to then tell them NO ITEM NEEDS TO BE COLLECTED AND THAT I AM WAITING FOR MY ITEM TO BE DELIVERED> Make it make sense. As I type this I just sent ANOTHER EMAIL deteiling that I am waiting for a DELIVERY not a ****** collection. I pay for an item, its delivered broken, I log a return, the collect the ite, tell me I have to return all items, I decline, they agree to return it and I then havce to chase them for two weeks for an item delievered to me broken in the first place? Then I'm sent from pillar to post and told a pile of bull**** in the interim? To top it off I have to send like five emails just to get an email with more lies or things that don';t make sense? Definitely done with takealot after this and this isn't about the item, its the service and principle, or in this case LACK THEREOF.

Bad client service

Good day

I must say the worst service I have received in South Africa with online shopping was from takealot.
No feefback gets received, they do not answer emails they just conclude returns without justification.
I bought a GIZZU 296Wh portable power station in December 2022 with a 12month guarantee.
A return was logged with reference number MRRN-38ZZY-RNY8 on 26 Aug 2023. On the 5th of September 2023 an email from Simbulele.M(*******@takealot.zendesk.com was received stating they are awaiting missing accessories. This email came after the return status was showing concluded on the app. We had no idea what was going on, we replied and requested a courier to be send on Monday for the missing accessories, no replied received. We followed up today 8 September 2023, still no reply. A courier however brought back the return item, just as broken as it was.
The accessories (a bag, cellphone and lighter wire) would not have an impact on the output of the power station that did not work.
Unfortantly I can not get hold of takealot, because the 087 number you choose an option then get placed on hold and after many minutes the call gets dropped from their side.

Takealot are scammers!

Don't shop with these scam artists! As a seller I've personally experienced the Bull$#*! this company puts it's sellers and ultimately it's customers through. You realize that the sellers are forced to add these extra costs from Takealot onto their products, which is why everything is more expensive on their platform. I was quite happy selling through them before the COVID pandemic, as I could store my items quite affordably with them and there were no issues with deliveries or returns, as it was handled in house. Also they advertised for us for free, where as now we need to pay into an advertising account which is just a link to Google ads. Now they are withholding money from me and I've sent out over 6 of my products that were cancelled and I've never received my products back. Also made at least 3 successful sales this month but not a cent to show from it from Takealot.

Also towards the end of last year in October i had all my products that I was storing with Takealot returned to me, as no one was buying my products. I had to raise the price of my items to ridiculous levels because of the extra storage fees, success fees and fulfillment fees that Takealot decided to start tacking on after the COVID pandemic (*seriously Takealot you're going to penalize us for being successful?). After I had these products returned to me, all these products (more than 98% of my products) were unbuyable and I was making no sales with Takealot since October in 2021 till March 2022. I couldn't get any responses from customer support and was sent a message in February apologizing to us sellers for the seller support services being unavailable for almost 4 months due to the COVID pandemic. I was so pissed with them for this as they still charged me two months of fees, not to mention my bank charging me monthly fees the entire time. Also because they charged me two months of fees I owed them R753, which they then added R2400 for unpaid fees. Now all my sales are being paid to pay back these pieces of GARBAGE!

I really thought all these problems would end when I started doing leadtime orders, not realizing the horrors that awaited me. You have to pay for delivery fees for the product out of pocket to deliver the product to JHB or CPT. This would be fine if most of my sales would be in Cape town, but more than 90% of my sales are to JHB, where I need to pay R150 just to ship one item to Takealot. And Takealot has the audacity to charge customers for shipping and then keep all those profits for themselves, while making us sellers ship out of pocket! Why Takealot do you work this way? There are 3 possible solutions to this issue. 1. Let sellers deliver to their nearest DC and you transfer it to the other DC using an INTER-DC transfer fee (right now as of 2022 it's still R7). 2. Pay us sellers the shipping fee the customer pays. 3. Get out of the way (give us the customer info directly and let the sellers deal with the customers and send the products directly to the customers). I cant keep doing business this way!

$#*! YOU TAKEALOT! I WISH YOU PEOPLE WOULD GO COMPLETELY BROKE ALREADY! $#*! YOU TRY SCAM ME LIKE THIS! $#*! ALL OF YOU IN THAT COMPANY! KARMA IS GOING TO KICK YOU ALL IN THE BALLS!

NEVER EVER SELL THROUGH THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM SMALL COMPANIES OUT OF THEIR MONEY!
