I paid $1,400 for an electric cargo tricycle on 10/14/2025. The tricycle never arrived. The battery shipped separately — and the crate that was supposed to contain the tricycle showed up filled with unrelated car parts.
I reported it immediately. The wrong items were picked up. And yet… no tricycle. No replacement. No refund.
Now I'm stuck with a battery that would cost a fortune to ship back to China, and Alibaba refuses to cover the return shipping.
Buyers deserve protection when sellers fail to deliver. Right now, I'm out $1,400 with nothing to show for it.

I placed an order for 945 cartons of gloves from a supplier on Alibaba (Shandong GD Technology Co., Ltd.). When the shipment arrived, only 910 cartons were delivered. The supplier later admitted in writing that they miscalculated the container capacity and never shipped the missing 35 cartons.
In addition to the short shipment, the products had multiple quality issues: inconsistent color, incorrect sizing, underweight gloves, and thickness below the supplier's own specifications. All evidence was documented with photos, videos, and measurements.
The dispute with Alibaba lasted five months. Alibaba repeatedly missed their own response deadlines, including long periods of silence, even though their policy states they will respond within three business days. The case was transferred between departments without explanation, and many of my submissions were ignored.
A major concern was that the supplier submitted evidence only in Chinese, even though the entire order and contract were in English. Alibaba accepted these Chinese‑language submissions without translation, which is unacceptable for an international trade platform and put me at a clear disadvantage.
The supplier also changed their explanations multiple times, including switching between CAD and USD amounts and later refusing to honor their earlier proposal because their "fiscal year had closed due to the New Year." Alibaba did not address these contradictions.
Despite clear evidence and the supplier's written admission, Alibaba's final offer was only a small discretionary credit, not a refund based on their published Trade Assurance terms.
Buyers should be aware that Alibaba's Trade Assurance may not provide the protection advertised, especially when dealing with missing goods or quality issues.
Product never delivered – supplier broke contract - No support from Alibaba Trade Assurance
I placed an order through Alibaba with supplier Shandong Msang Machinery Co., Ltd. on 2025-05-17. Now, 8 months later, still no delivery.
Despite full payment and repeated follow-ups:
The product was never delivered
The supplier provided inconsistent and misleading explanations, several false promises of promised delivery by a certain date that never happened. All without action from Alibaba.
Fake shipping documents were shared by seller - No action from Alibaba.
Promises of resolution were made multiple times and not kept
After more than 6 months of dispute, there has been no delivery and no refund.
Even though the seller shared only fake shipping documents - Alibaba accepts the seller invoking force majeure, blaming customs when the seller has not even fulfilled its obligations on valid shipping documentation.
If Alibaba accepts fake documents as proof, no buyer is safe on the Alibaba platform.
This is not a misunderstanding or a logistics delay — it is a clear failure to fulfill a paid contract. I'm posting this to warn others to be extremely cautious when dealing with Alibaba.

Order received today, and the product looks excellent. All that remains is to confirm its effectiveness as we use it over the coming days and weeks. However, the delivery time was disastrous, as the order and payment were made on November 4,2025, and received on January 13,2023.

Answer: Do not do it!~ they are scammers. It is way to difficult to figure out who are scam sellers and who are not. And there idea of protection is a joke! Do not do it. If they are cheap there is a reason why... think about that! Dont do it!
Answer: Alibaba does not offer any protection from either scams or mistakes. Dispute resolution to them is you lose your money or pay more money and then lose it. Only pay with CC and then give alibaba 1 chance to fix then dispute with CC company and get money back. IMPORTANT in contract state that you get a full refund of any monies if their are any problems.
Answer: I would echo Hugh K's comments. Never ever rely on Alibaba whether the supplier is trusted or gold whatever. Insist on paying via PayPal. Ask seller to send you PayPal invoice and before making payment, call and confirm with PayPal if you are protected by PayPal in case seller doesn't deliver as promised. Personally, I stay away from purchasing via Alibaba. Try Dhgate.com. I'm doing all my business from this site

Answer: This is what they tell you but in fact it doesn't happen. Alibaba only look after their traders. The traders buy gold supplier stars like we buy lollipops. Gold star supplier means nothing. Ghangzou Mega Beauty firstly showed 3 stars, the following week 4 stars, following week 5 stars and the next week 6 stars. I complained to Alibaba who don't care as long as they get the money. Now DHGate do not release the payment until you receive your goods. Buy from DHGate to ensure you are not scammed.
