As one who has numerous internet accounts, and am very much aware of what and how a functional website operates, I find myself becoming very agitated when I attempt a very simple checkout at Swanson! All my payment information, mailing address, etc., is on file there, so, when my order is completed it should be a very routine and simple matter of choosing my payment option and my address and the order is complete!
Time after time I have found myself spending 15 to 20 minutes just on the checkout alone! Instead of completing the checkout the webpage suddenly reverts to a CBD ad and I find all my checkout information has been deleted, and if I want to complete my order I have to start my payment information all over.
My conclusion: A few lower prices on a few substandard supplements is not worth the frustration and hassle!
So, it's adios, farewell and gluckliche Reise Swanson; when you see fit to really do customer service by hiring a computer programer who is qualified and is not a recent graduate of Sandbox, I might consider returning!
I am a repeat customer of Swanson Vitamins residing in Australia ( I have made multiple purchases over the past 12 months) this meant NOTHING when I made my last order, which happened to be a very nice discounted offer (hmmm) and all of a sudden they want me to provide credit card information to confirm my address, my card number or a authorization number of the purchase? What the? When i questioned this (as it didn't sound right) they had a response which stated they needed to confirm my address etc and it was simple to do! NO, NO its not and NO, NO I will not! There is a simple solution to this problem which they don't seem t be able to offer its customers residing outside the US which is to have PAYPAL as a payment option! SIMPLE... they are taking this feedback on board( standard response one gets the feeling)
My advise to you all is to look around be careful what information you are requested to provide and go to a business that appreciates repeat customers and does not change its process at a whim! Will NEVER order from this company again and will advise all my referred family and friends to do so in the future...
I should have looked online at all the reviews for this company before I placed an order.
Placed an order and then sort of forgot about it. Then I realized that it was taking an abnormally long time to get it. I used chat and then called about my order. They told me that my order had already been delivered (of which it had not).
I was also told that someone would be calling me to investigate my claim (of which no one did) and that I had to wait 10 days to either have my order reshipped or to cancel it.
I called back on the day I was told was the 10th day- only to be told I had to wait another 5 days.
So unacceptable!
Once they had "receipt" that the order had been delivered & I told them that it hadn't- why should I have to wait to do anything? They should have fixed the problem right there- either by resending the order or letting me cancel it.
Totally sketchy business... and it looks like I'm not the only one to think this.
And let it be known, I have never taken the time to write a good or bad review of any company. I just felt in this case, I needed to put my experience out there.
Great selection, great price (if you use the coupons), fast shipping. Their store-brand has a good value too (frequent buy one get one).

Like a pyramid scam Swanson website is poorly designed, over complicated and prices change as you shop even items prices in your cart. Constant nagging to force you into their email newsletter which means constant spam or paper propaganda catalogs with again over complucated pricing that starts cheap but ends with inflated shipping or having to buy itenms you don't need. Example today was looking for Pickly Pear extract, noting it was a Swanson item we already were turned off. Yet we thought we woould try again. Immediately the shopping cart which is way to big for large screen mobile phones there is mass confusion and needless screen changes. We add 2 Cactus bottles then to make the $30 minimum.99 shipping we add a few other items. Problem is when you click check out even the Amazon or PayPal options to pay you must give all your shipping and billing info. Worse the cart removed the Cactus bottles with no reason. If this is due to us living in CA it makes no sense as buying directly from Walmart or Amazon this was never a problem. Walmart has won our business and agsin Swansons over complicated check out, ordering ( the whole online shopping experience us a nightmare and riddled with too much sales BS and needless hype.
I have purchased from Swansons Vitamins many times, for several years. Many prices are good, but I now purchase OTHER BRANDS more often than Swansons own products. However my biggest concern is trust... I purchased products during a "Sale", and was OVERCHARGED. It took more than a week, and countless emails & phonecalls to fix... and they kept charging me MORE each time they claimed to have fixed it. WORST, THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY BILLED WAS HIGHER THAN THE AMOUNT SHOWN ON THE EMAIL NOTICES AND WRITTEN INVOICES SHIPPED WITH THE PRODUCTS. IF YOU BUY FROM THEM, CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE BILLED CORRECTLY. ESPECIALLY IF THEY CLAIM TO HAVE "CORRECTED" A BILLING PROBLEM. Eventually, they credited my account for the full cost of the order, but only after I escalated the issue within the company. Their "Customer Service" staff ALWAYS RESPONDS TO PROBLEMS WITH CLAIMS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG... I AM JUST CONFUSED... even after this problem was proven, they seemed determined to create documentation showing it never existed... no wonder they kept making it worse...

Swanson Vitamin is an excellent company with great products at a low price. I would give the company 4 stars.
However, I would give Swanson Vitamin a 1 Star for not telling Californian customers up front that they can't ship a huge amount of products to California. You only find out that half of what you order can't be shipped when you are checking out, having wasted much time.
The problem isn't Swanson, it is California's stupid Proposition 65-the toxic materials and clean water prop. Apparently, Swanson either operates in CA or has a huge distribution site there.
I live in California. I worked as an RN, BSN, and Prop 65 is posted on Clinic and Hospital doors, warning that inside people may be exposed to toxic chemicals. Ridiculous!

They delayed my order for over a week, stating I had to give a authorization code for the payment to leave my account, however they did not inform me of this. They said an email was sent but it was not. The payment was clearly showing as left my account on my online banking, however I had to call my bank to obtain the code anyway or they would not ship what I had already paid for. I provided them with this code after calling my bank and they debited my account again! So now they have taken 2 lots of payments from my account. I paid for the quickest express delivery which was meant to be 1-3 working days. The order was placed on the 01/05 and still my products haven't arrived. I called and have been on hold for 20+ minutes. I used the online chat to try and resolve this and was told that the 2nd payment was an authorization and it will be returned to me when the status of my order is shipped. My order status has been "shipped" for the last 2 days and still the funds have not come back. A payment authorization should surely only be for a small percentage and not the total. This means that their business model is take 2 x the amount of money from your account every time you place an order and mask it as an authorization which doesn't get returned to your account. I asked them to simply send 1 of the payments back to me and they said they do not have to do that and suggested I take it up with my bank! I have no idea what the hell is going on, i am overdrawn and about to miss a payment deadline for my credit card, this will incur a charge and void my interest free period on my card causing every months repayments until my card is cleared to increase by over 100 ponds. I have submitted 2 emails so far over the last 2 days and both are unanswered. Absolutely shocking company. DO NOT USE.
I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. I even converted several people including family. About a year and a half ago I began experiencing problems. Orders would take a week or so to process, coupons wouldn't be applied unless I called to question it, shipping took a ridiculous amount of time. I complained several times to seemingly indifferent employees who always had a excuse. The order I placed 2 weeks ago will be my last. They charged me shipping AGAIN when I had a free shipping coupon. I had to go online to chat. It was refunded. However, the next day I was charged for the entire order again including shipping! I called to question this! A very nice female with a ND accent said she had to forward it to accounting. I asked that they return my call the same day. They did not. 2 days later when I called I had a foreign CSR who said they would call me. I asked for a supervisor. She seemed polite but defensive. I was told that I had to fax in my bank records showing the 2 charges. I told her I was upset that I had to do the legwork when clearly they had a record of double charging. Pulse no one called me to tell me I had to do this in the first place. I told her to pass on that I will not be returning. Instead of worrying about losing a customer she simply said ok! I then looked up the company online and found out they had been sold to a company out of Chicago... That explained everything! Bye bye values! So just as I told many people how wonderful this company was, so shall I be recounting my bad experiences to just as many if not more people. When will businesses learn that customers ARE your reason for being in business?

First, I want to say that I have used this company for over 20 years and in the past have had good experiences. That was when Lee Swanson was in charge. Now the company is being run by a bunch of narcissistic millennial 'investors' from California. However in the past few years, things have degraded to the point that this company now is probably the worst place to go for supplements. While the products that they sell are excellent, the problem is that this company can not SHIP out an order. You can put things in your cart and buy them, but the order never ships. In addition to this, the cost for international shipping is astronomical. The reason for their inability to satisfy an order is that ITEMS THAT ARE OUT OF STOCK ARE LISTED AS IN STOCK AND ADDED TO YOUR CART. Then, they hold your order for weeks HOPING that the item will 'arrive'. In the meantime, you wait and other items go out of stock and the madness continues ad infinitum. Also, the choice for shipping options for international orders is not well thought out and certainly not in the interest of the customer. I routinely get heavier orders delivered by mercola.com and vitacost for about one quarter the price... AND THOSE ORDERS ACTUALLY ARRIVE! In summary, I can no longer recommend this company because the current leadership lacks vision and is not looking out for its customers. If you want me back, just match the level of service that Mercola.com provides... until then, I will shop at his store and miss the Swanson's that I loved so much.

This is the first time I encounter its new deceiving chat service; I have been Swanson Vitamins custimer for more than 10 years. Today I want to reorder some supplements, while comparing the prices for the same substance, but made by different brands, I saw that chat bubble popping up constantly. Thinking that it was available, I clicked on it, to my surprise, after some wait time, I was prompted to select various numbers to indicate my need. After selecting several numbers to answer its questions, the chat closed on me as if Swanson selectively choose to service some categories only, and mine was not one on the preferred list!
So was the chat a way to:
Reduce the influx of customers trying to contact Customer Service by making customers go through the loops
Sampling the volume of the chat service at certain times of the day to get statistics for its marketing or scheduling department or what was going on?
I had to go through all those loops to get nobody in the end?! There was no warning of any kind that the service was unavailable, no indication that I was in a queue! If it was unavailable, why did the website not display a message of the chat service hours, and ask customers to come back later, or the like?! It's the least courtesy it can give to a customer.
After viewing the numerous complaints on Swanson Vitamins, and its own responses to the complaints within a year to date on Better Business Bureau, and seeing the overall rating here (Sitejabber) on the organization, I decide to not take a risk of getting an issue from doing business with it! It's sad to notice that it has gone downhill overall, especially in customer service which is a very important aspect of doing business, and staying afloat! If I could, I would support a local business like it, but it is not worth going through possible headaches!
I have ordered from Swanson in the past with no problem. But... when everything works well you really never learn about a company, but once something "happens" you learn how they really operate. I ordered almost a $100 in vitamins from Swanson. On 12/27 knowing I hade to go away on 1/17. That is really enought time to allow the pills to get to me. I have a condition called c diff and take a form or probiotic that is known to work. They were delivered on 1/6 to thw wrong address by UPS. OK so bad UPS but more the problem with Swanson CS. UPS accepted that they delivered the items to the wrong address. I called Swanson and asked them to note to UPS that if the package is returned to change the scan to RETURN TO SENDER and to re ship my already paid for not in hand vitmans so that I would get them before I leave or if they were not going to do this to refund my money and have Swanson battle it out with UPS for their insurance claim. That I have really have nothing to do with the matter and all I want is the vitamins that I have paid for. Either from Swanson or to buy them locally ( which I should have done to begin with). Swanson won't budge. They want to wait until UPS settles with them, then replace my vitmans. I won't even be in the US at that point for 2 months. So I guess it works this way. Swanson's got itself covered. I on the other hand have no vitmans and out $100. That SUCKS

First, The Credit card address (But all the time same) Second, The Shipping address is supposed to same. Third, Not allow resale so only we can order 5 bottles. Fourth, Out of Stock (Cannot sell this product) = Only allow to order "Swanson's product" = Cannot cancel (If we need a refund after receive and returning) Finally, i can discount some of Swanson's Products.
