This is a legitimate web site selling clothing, accessories and some homewares. The service has been great every purchase I've made including ease of returns. The web site gives the opportunity for purchasers to review each item and the reviews seem genuine - sundance doesn't remove negative reviews about items. Their shipping is pricey, the only downside.
Been waiting almost a month now for some word on a rug I ordered. Rug pad came immediately.
Response to my email sent two weeks after ordering said it was lost in a warehouse. A week later I responded to email if I'd get info on whether/when they found it. Nothing back.
I called a week after that. Customer service woman said it was showing up as being in warehouse but they couldn't find it. She would refer up to supervisor. Five days later, almost a month after ordering, I have heard nothing from them. Rug is still available in catalog and online but 'they can't find it'.
Sundance is a generally a 'higher-end" retail store. When items go on sale, then they are much more affordable for me. However, recently I have had mixed feelings about my outlet purchases. The first time the items appeared to be "new" but the second time, the items I received appeared to have been used and or/washed, and then discounted/shipped out to me. The 2nd time, they were both packed horribly wrinkled, and with what appeared to be a pre-washed garment on one of them. Not happy at all time #2. Quality control appears inconsistent.
When you pay $16 in shipping you would expect 2 day shipping right... lol, they say "5-7 business days" which means 2-4 weeks, what a bunch of jerks to make so much money off of slow expensive shipping. When I asked if they would waive it I got a flat out "no". Keep it! Rude people!
Update... so I broke down and ordered shoes because I just had to have them. They changed me $15.95 for shipping and they use FedEx's SmartPost which is anything but smart. It will take over 2 weeks to get my package. "SmartPost is aimed at retailers who don't consider quick shipping essential to their business. Smartpost parcels are the lowest priority for FedEx when then handle them, and the lowest priority for the USPS when they handle them... that combines to be the lowest priority, and slowest, method of delivery outside of strapping it to a mule and leading it around the country for delivery."
I deserved this.
The pictures in the Sundance Catalog show gorgeous photos that are deceiving. When the item arrives the quality is cheap and the colors don't match the photos. I tried ordering 3 different times and had the same experience. The items are way overpriced. With each order the shipping is outrageous--a tiny pair of earrings is $9.95 to ship. With returns, they bill right away for the exchange item, but the return credits are very slow to process. When they process the credit, they deduct original shipping and tax on that shipping. In short, they rip people off at every opportunity. Between the poor quality and return rip-offs, I had a difficult time using up a gift card credit. After 3 returns for poor quality, the shipping and taxes ate up a lot of my gift card.
Terrible shipping costs and shipping length. Ordered a pair of shorts in May, backordered until June it now the end of August and have yet to receive the shorts though on the website it says that they were shipped. I never get email updates for shipping, very long time to receive a refund when returned. Clothes quality is not as good as it used to be. Forget them. Terrible site.
Sundance catalog has completely destroyed the reputation of a brand that was once synonymous with:
Quality, integrity, and decency.
I was born and raised in Utah in 1961. I remember everything about the birth and rise of all things "Sundance", to include many many hiking, snowshoeing, and winter camping excursions on the absolutely beautiful mountain (Timpanogos) on which the Sundance ski resorts resides.
What. A. Shame.
From the cheaply made and the exorbitantly overpriced "imported " items from China, to the discourteous and deplorable customer service.
This company is NOTHING like the wonderful and unique company that Mr Redford founded in 1969.
I am embarrassed for him, as I am sure that he would no longer represent IN ANY WAY with
sundancecatalog.com; unless legally bound to via contract.
I ordered from a few different catalogs in advance of a trip with plenty of time for things to arrive. Everything came in quickly except a skirt I ordered from Sundance. I almost didn't order it since I've never ordered from them before and it was $$$, but it looked nice and I thought I'd give them a shot. After many calls to the company since you can't track your order online they only answer is they lost it in the warehouse and they'd ship it that day. Three days later it did finally ship, they said it would be here Saturday it's Tuesday and the Fedex tracking looks like I might actually get it. I leave tomorrow and after reading these reviews I worrying the quality will not be worth the wait or the headache. At least the refunded my shipping.
Color not as seen in the catalogue. Customer service told me no pocket, then check ed again, said pockets. Takes too long to get package. These pants show light thru them even when doubled fabric. Slippery cheap fabric. I will not buy from them again. Simply too much money for pants made in India... paid #35 for a dress of same fabric at a Mexican store inNashville. I know fabrics, could not id fabric, label, but believe rayon. Already packaged to return and WE have to pay to return... crazy in this day when rarely have to PAY to return
I have been on on and off again customer of Sundance for years. Have had many poor experiences, some good, but recently all bad. I ordered a $600 pair of boots that arrived and were 2 different sizes and the sole of the boots were uneven. The boot itself was gorgeous, but unfortunately made improperly. The packaging of the boot itself was horrible, yet Sundance charges a fortune for shipping. Then I have to be bothered to return defective boots that should have never been shipped to begin with. To add insult to injury I took time to write a review per Sundance's request and my review got rejected!
Never expected such poor service. They back ordered the hat I ordered without telling me, for more than a month, then did not reply to my request to look into it. They didnt care when I finally accessed their live chat. It was ordered for a gift and will not arrive on time. If they had shown something on the site I would have ordered something else. What a terrible company.
I have had to return items more than once for inferior quality (very different than the pictures!). I have found the customer service very unhelpful, I have had to wait over ten days for credit on my account while not getting back the shipping cost. This is the worst online purchasing experience I have had, don't even bother, because its waist of time & money!
I would never recommend this streaming service. Trying to cancel and being double billed! I feel trapped in a service I never used after the first cancellation! They are still giving me the run around!
Lovely items albeit a tad too pricey. Standard shipping too expensive for FedEx Smartpost which is a horrible level of service. I spoke to a rep who was quite curt about spending more money for the upgraded shipping. I am done with Sundance.
Wow! I never expected to be treated so badly. I placed an order for a Christmas present on Dec. 4th and when I called today to find out where it was, they told me it was backordered until June! What kind of Christmas present is delivered in June! They made no effort to get in touch with me to tell me what was happening or to offer any alternatives or compensation. The "Senior Associate" told me I could order something else and they would expedite it b/c they were "expediting everything at this point anyway."
I received a pair of boots as a Christmas present. Called the day after Christmas to process an exchange for a larger size. I sent the boots back that day and 22 days later my return was processed and now the boots were no longer in stock. Instead of reaching out to me as the gift recipient with a credit, they refunded the purchase back to the original credit card, so now I was completely out of a gift and in the awkward position of having to go back to the original gift giver. When I spoke with customer service, they were extremely rude and didn't seem to care about my experience. Truly the worst company I have dealt with in a very long time.
I ordered a red suede purse for my wife for Christmas. First, the bag was out of stock but Sundance failed to tell me it would take 2 1/2 months to arrive. They finally did fess up to this and the bag arrived in late January. When the bag arrived we discovered that the product is defective because the color rubs off and stains light colored clothing. From reading reviews on the Sundance website it is obvious they knew this but continued to ship the product anyway. We returned the bag but to add insult to injury they charged $8.00 for return shipping on a product they already knew was defective.
I am so disappointed in Sundance. My daughter received a piece of Jewelry for her Birthday from a family member. It was not her style so I mailed it back to exchange it. I sent it back in late May and it is now almost July and still have not received a credit. I have called numerous times and was told I would receive a call back which I never did and the last time I called they said the Gift card was going in the mail. What a disgrace that a company has such poor customer service and follow through. I will be sure not to shop there and spread the word to all my family and friends
I ordered a shirt for my MIL's birthday. Ordered it on a Sunday and paid $18 shipping (which was the standard shipping cost). It shipped on Monday and is not expected to be delivered until not this Friday, but the following Friday... customer service was not helpful either. Won't order again...
My first order from the catalog. I purchased a blouse. One sleeve had elastic in it the other sleeve did not. Looking at all of the drama of returning, I'm just going to take it to a seamstress to fix. Won't be ordering again from them.
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
Answer: The photos are so deceptive that the product you receive is nothing like them. See my photos below. I wish Sundance would do better.
Answer: No you don't! Overpriced and poor quality. I Purchased a necklace on sale and it was so tiny I returned it. This company is no longer affiliated with Robert Redford!
