What reviewers want you to know

Positive highlights

  • When they were calling for all day thunderstorms, I called stub hub 800 number, and talked to a real person.
  • Customer service immediately looked into it and long story short, they replaced our tickets with EVEN BETTER ONES!

Critical highlights

  • My next step is to dispute the charges with my credit card company.
  • So i paid 4x face value for inferior tickets and I am more or less told too bad after 55 minute phone call.

“Stubhub always delivers”

Have used several times Ive never had a problem. Service charges are a little high but that seems to be typical of ticket companies. I made the mistake of using seatgeeks and it was a disaster. I'll stick with stubhub for all my future on line ticket needs.

“Refund never arrived”

Mark H.
1/13/24

Purchsed tickets to FCS championship game on 1.7.24 in early Dec. Immediately knew there was an issue with seller when tickets never transferred. I have initiated 4 chats to customer service and called twice for a refund to be issued. Received an email on 12.20 saying refund was processed. 1.13 told the refund is still in initiated stage and that it can take some time. Buy from anyone else thier fees are higher and guarantees mean nothing

I bought tickets for a 2 day event and couldn't attend. Listed my tickets for sale, one day sold but I had to spend over an hour on the phone with customer service to get the tickets transferred to my buyer. My tickets were sent to me in pdf form for both days. Not mobile. So I can not even list them as ticket in hand because PDF is not an option on their site.

I purchased parking tickets on StubHub site for $53, once I arrived to the location to my surprise the parking space was only $20. I contacted them and asked for a different small refund with no reply back. What a rip-off.

Don't buy parking tickets from them.

I listed three tickets for the Australian Pink Floyd show because I couldn't go. They were great seats...nearest section to the stage. Stubhub had the wrong seating plan so it looked as though my tickets were behind the stage! I emailed them with the correct plan. They said my situation would be escalated. This was 5 days before the show. Nothing was done and I ended up practically giving the tickets away. NEVER AGAIN.

Bought sports tickets and received confirmation at the time on the site. No email confirmation. Learned through call to customer support that the account was locked and transaction cancelled. After a few hours on the phone, 15 hours later, and multiple calls, still not unlocked. I was told it would take 3-4 days.
Locking an account for security is okay, but not being able to resolve it for days is unreasonable. Still waiting. No resolution yet. Two stars earned for customer service rep who was polite and patient, but still could not resolve the issue. Otherwise, I would have given one star rating.

Stubhub says buy tickets with confidence. We purchased tickets for a Texas A&M game an hour before game time. This was done on a guest account due to trouble logging in with my account. Due to the fact that it asks for an email account to send them to, we did use that email and it matched it with my regular account. When the system saw this, even though the tickets had been ordered as a guest, it sent a View Tickets link that took me into my regular account. Even once we did manage to log in, the tickets were not there. We gave up at game time and bought other tickets through my husband's account. When I talked with StubHub later, they told me that I should have called them and they could have walked me through the process of getting to the correct link to put in my access code for the tickets. I asked why their programmers set it up to send an email with a link to my account when that link clearly would not work, and they could not answer that. They've refunded no money, and when I asked them to escalate this and have someone call me, they said they would but did not. They've hired substandard programmers who can't run simple scenarios and figure out the simplest way to give their customers access. The email even says to log into my account to see the tickets, and of course they are not there. It is unfortunate that something as often used as StubHub cannot hire competent programmers or beta testers.

I wanted to claim for the fees I've paid for the Bruce Springsteen tickets. The fact is that tickets were sent 7 hours before the concert. You were supposed to send them the 8th of May. Tickets had my name on it so I had difficulties to sell them and lost my money. At the same time I got charged by stubhub.com 200 dollars of fees. Please refund my money

Tip for consumers:
the web where I bought the tickets is Stubhub.com

I've been using StubHub for years to buy Yankee tickets and thats fine. But if you try to buy NY Ranger or NY Knick tickets for games played at MSG, you will never see your tickets or be able to contact StubHub. After you purchase your ticket, they send you through a maze of Ticketmaster-MSG ambiguity that leaves you totally frustrated along with no tickets, lost money, and no way to contact StubHub. I just lost $99 on a Ranger ticket last week after losing $72 on another game last Christmas. Also, I searched the web and there really is no way to contact StubHub. Stay away from this site!

Tip for consumers:
Skip StubHub, go else where.

I purchased tickets to an event Columbus Ohio and which the main headlining band canceled. The band was replaced with two bands in which I'm not interested in the event in which the tickets could have been purchased from initially was offering refunds for any tickets bought through them i e the seller that the tickets were purchased off of through StubHub. After calling StubHub and talking to them they refuse to refund telling me that the seller would be out money ( not the case). I was then told I can resell the tickets through StubHub and which the big band that was playing at canceled there for the tickets were not selling well at all. So in the event you purchase tickets for a football game that may have been cancelled and the venue decides to have a Soccer game that day instead. Stubhub would tell you that there is still an event going on and its not a reason for the tickets to be refunded. Even if the venue is offering refunds. The person even promised me a refund with online support only to call me and tell me that there is nothing they can do other than try to sell the tickets

Be very careful listing tickets. The site can be confusing, with several listings of the same event on the same date. If the buyer cancels, you will be charged an unreasonably large ($76) fee.

Deanna we want to see what we can do to assist here if you were charged. We are a fan to fan marketplace where sellers list tickets to events they would like to sell for. This is why you will see multiple listings for the same event as each listing is a different seller that our buyers can purchase from. If you would like us to look into your account if you had an issue please private message us here with your email and zip code.

Stub Hub used to be a great place to safely buy and sell tickets. Unfortunately things seem to be going down hill quickly. Not sure what the deal is. Payments for tickets sold used to get to me within a few days. In the past month, it has been taking more than 2 weeks to get paid. Stub Hub currently has nearly $10K of my money held hostage. I am removing my inventory until they get their act together. Disappointing.

I purchased two floor seats to a wizards game below face value from stubhub over a week prior to the game. My card was charged and tickets confirmed. Since they were vip floor seats I made travel arrangements and hotel accomodations. Both my wife and I also coordinated a day off work. Approx 24 hours before the event StubHub notified me the seller cancelled the tickets. Within 24 hours I didn't have enough notice to cancel travel or hotel so I was forced to accept the replacement tickets which were no where near the floor in the 200 level since they were comparable in price. Well 24 hours before the event all prices are much higher then a week or two out so the tickets are no where near as good. I applaud StubHub and their policy, customer service was great. The fact they let sellers cancel the day before the event when I had the tickets for over a week, that could have been cancelled much sooner is unacceptable. I don't blame the stub hub customer service team they were great, I blame their terrible policies that allow greedy sellers to make money and screw normal people. I won't be using stub hub again and I recommend nobody make plans such as hotel and travel dependant on tickets from stub hub.

I purchased from StubHub four lower level, sideline tickets to the Peach Bowl. I printed the tickets, and considered it a done deal. Several days later (the morning of the game), I received an email and a call from StubHub telling me that the seller of the tickets claims that he cancelled the listing, and was refusing to part with the tickets. StubHub offered to replace the tickets with four lower level tickets in the CORNER. I pulled up the StubHub website while I was speaking with the stubHub representative, and I pointed out that they had four sideline (not corner) tickets that were available in another section. StubHub refused to replace my tickets with the other sideline tickets. The StubHub representative explained that StubHub is merely a broker, and that StubHub does not carry an inventory of tickets. StubHub gave me four replacement tickets in the corner, and refunded a small portion of the purchase price.

The take away -- you, too, could receive a call from StubHub on Gameday telling you that your tickets are not valid.

If computer systems are down... why tell the customer that a hour and a half after trying to solve the problem over the phone.? It would save the customer and employees lots of time! Really frustrating to find that out after wasting time at work.

This is my first and last time using StubHub. I purchased tickets for a music festival that is scheduled October 6th-8th in June. I waited several months for my tickets to arrive, and when they did not, I contacted StubHub customer services. I was told by the representative who answered that my order had been cancelled due to an error on StubHub's part, and he apologized that I had not been contacted. He assured me they would find me more tickets and would notify me by email within 48 hours. I waited 48 hours and had not received a response from StubHub. I called that night and was told my order had not been processed, and StubHub did not have tickets for me. They offered to refund my money or issue my a coupon. After I had some choice words with the representative and explained that none of those options were helpful, he told me they found more tickets they could send via FedEx within 3 business days. Since today is Tuesday, I said okay. I was on the phone an entire hour with StubHub. When the representative returned, he told me my tickets would be delivered the day before I am due to leave for the concert (the concert is out of town). He assured me they would be there, but since I was assured tickets the week ago, I am skeptical. On top of the stress of preparing to leave town, I know have to wonder whether or not I even have a reason to go, and I will not know until the very last minute. I am very disappointed in the fact that in 3 months, no one bothered to notify me about the botched tickets. When I called for assistance, I was told they were going to do something about the issue, and they did not, and I had to call again to learn that they hadn't done what they said they were going to. Supposedly I have tickets coming. I was initially told it would take 3 days for them to get here, and now I learn it will be the day before I leave. This has been stressful and inconvenient. I will NEVER use StubHub again, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them in any shape, form or fashion. BUYER BEWARE!

Stubhub gauges commission from both ends... buyer and seller, I just listed my 2 tickets for 320.00 each. Stubhub said the buyer would see sale price as 354.00 - so they are making 68.00 from buyer. They gave me 544.00 total from sale so took $96.00 commission on my end. So long story short, i sold 2 tickers for 640.00 and Stubhub collected $164,00 from the sale (25% commission).

I'd give it 0 stars if I could, I ordered two tickets from their website, they were supposed to arrive within 4 days, a month later, still no sign, I contacted stubhub to ask where my tickets were they told me they'd tried contacting the seller but no response and they'd get in touch when they hear back from the seller. 2 more weeks passed and still no sign of my tickets or hearing back from stubhub, I contact them again for them to tell me to contact them in another weeks time because the seller had a 'good reputation' and they will 'sub' me my order if still no sign... 1 week before the concert(already paid for hotel and travel) I'm still waiting on them "subbing" my order. I will not be using this site again; I've constantly had to chase the customer support for answers and each time they've been vague in their responses and I've been told to be "patient". I'm out of pocket by £100 and no doubt having to pay cancellation fees on my hotel and travel expenses as i haven't a clue what they will "sub" me with!
Shocking customer support, will not be using again!

So, i'll start by saying that in the past i have had nothing less than great experiences with stubhub. One of my most memorable experiences was when i heard about Chvrches playing in Boston a few minutes from my work about two hours before the show. I get on stubhub in hopes to find some cheap last minute tickets to a sold out show, which i did. They literally cost me $10 a piece after taxes, making them about $6 per ticket. I was beyond stoked and got into the venue fine and had a wonderful time. However, i've been hearing that stubhub has been on a steady decline in the past few years which sure it could happen to me, but with nothing but awesome experiences - i bought more tickets anyways. My mom and sister couldn't afford tickets to see Garth Brooks in Cleveland last night, so on Tuesday after seeing a ton of people posting about their excitement for Friday nights concert - i got on stubhub and purchased two tickets for only $38 a piece. For Garth Brooks - thats insane. I can't even elaborate on the sheer bliss in my moms voice when i told her she was going to the concert. This is someone she grew me and my siblings up on, dancing in the kitchen with her... like i heard so much Garth in my childhood I swore it was going to make my ears bleed. I could only imagine her having the time of her life and shes not able to "treat herself" very often as a single woman.
I was so happy to be able to give her this experience.
Unfortunately, upon arrival at the venue, my mother and sister were told that their seats were already occupied and that there was no way for them to get in. The tickets sold to me were in fact fraudulent and the horror stories you read about stubhub can very likely be you next time.
Now, had i written a review last night it would have contained alot of deeply heartfelt curse words and bad names in regards to the company itself. They cannot give my mom that experience back, and they cannot give her the "night of her life" that she was bound to have last night. But, the man i talked to while filing my claim was very sincere and apologetic. He made me feel like it truly wasn't the fault of the company, and that there are just some a**holes out there that can find a way to turn your disappointment into their paycheck.
They did in fact guarantee me a full refund that will take 3-5 business days. No doubt they are cooperative and definitely on the side of the buyer. But, please if you buy tickets off of stubhub for yourself or someone else, that you call stubhub to verify your sale, and that you call the venue to make sure that these seats youre purchasing tickets for exist. And before you leave the venue, check with the box office to see what options you have and get in touch with a customer service rep at stubhub immediately to try to locate a new set of seats.
I wish any future stubhub ticket purchasers the best of luck and hope you dont receive the same experience. And i am saddened to say that i no longer will be purchasing tickets off of stubhub because people suck and the hour and a half drive and the wasted excitement is not worth the money you will save. Trust me.

I found tix I wanted to buy and never used stubhub before. I learned I needed to register... so, in doing so, the site kept looping on an error saying my phone number is needed. I input it already... exactly as the site example showed. I tried 6 variations... with no additional characters, with parens, with only dashes, both parens and dashes, with dots in between and with a 1 at the beginning... every attempt resulted in the same error: Enter a mobile/landline number as if it was missing. I engaged with their online chat twice. The first one suggested I shut/reopen my browser. While I didn't want to lose my tix, I did it anyway. It didn't work... I tried to register again and still no dice. I asked them to refer this to their technical support as there is obviously a problem with their website. I was told to call Sales to purchase my tix. I don't want to do that b/c I want to download my tix right away and this is done via the site AND I am not willing to give my CC info over the phone. I then asked if they can just register me and they said they can't. Both of the chat folks (ROBIN S. In particular) just abruptly ended the conversation with me. So, I'm stuck not able to buy tix and dealing with supposed customer SERVICE people who aren't willing to resolve the problem. I'm really unsure what the purpose their 24x7 chat serves. Looks like I'm off to ticketmaster or some other competitor ticket reseller.

Tip for consumers:
My ratings are based on my perception of the value and immediate availability of the tickets, yet the site and the customer service won't allow me to actually engage in a purchase.
