Spectrum sales rep was at walmart and asked if i was interested in spectrum and i clearly told him no. I explained i heard bad things about spectrum and was not interested but he was a bit pushy and was not willing to accept no as a answer so he told me it was free for 2yrs so i signed up and after i talked to my wife we decided to cancel and we told ivan to cancel and we still recieved that stupid box at our door so he obviously lied when he said he would take care of it. When a company lies to me even once i always think what else are they lying about? If you have to read the fine print to make sure you dont get screwed then thats not a company i want to do business with. Then we returned the stupid box to the spectrum store and had to wait at least 45 min because there was 12 other unhappy customers in the store and had 5 registers open but only 2 were helping customers. The others were doing paperwork or punching buttons on a computer screen and had no sense of urgency to speed up the wait time. Im glad i cancelled my service i would hate to have to wait that long every time i have a problem. Definetly do not trust Ivan Beltran worst sales rep ever he only cares about making sales does not care about what is best for the customer he only cares about what is best for himself
Received letter showing internet and tv for 2 years each 39.99. My first Bill has 47.98 and 44.99 PLUS ridiculous ADD ONs And I thought ATT was bad

Spectrum Internet. Please think about it 10 times before having their services! They state that they bill in a "per monthly basis," and they change this recently too! I never signed nor accepted this terms, even if they are in the bill in "small letters."Anyways, per monthly basis like thet call it, means that even if you have to move on the 1st of the month, if you used service for that "one day!" you have to pay your entire month rate that you usually pay (from the 1st-the 31st of the month). For example: $100, if that is usually what you pay, you will pay, Instead of paying for that 1 day that you use! How ridiculous and nonsense. Even after speaking to the CEO, "Mike," he wasted my time and said he could not do anything and that he could not do anything about my slow services either. One time they offered to send a technician for a fee, to just troubleshoot. Really (I can do that myself)! That's the excuse he gave me. A company that has tons of money becomes even more rich with unfairness and unjust policies! How disappointed I am of this company. They even offered me phone and tv services... Can you imagine, if they're already unfair and terrible to the customers with just internet, I could not stand to be with them for other services. (0 stars rating if I could)!
I've had spectrum for almost 2 years in Rural Nebraska. Spectrum, at first worked great, $80 for 100mbps was just what I needed. Flash forward a year and my bill went from $80 to $90 (with a $10 off promotion still active) I didn't mind it going up just $10... so I just thought 'whatever'. A few months ago I noticed my speeds were awfully slow, so I did a speed test and it said my speeds were only at 5mbps, I contacted them and they said it was my router or modem and they would send me new equipment. GREAT! No problem. Did it fix my issue? NO! I have contacted spectrum numerous times to get this issue fixed and they finally said okay, you might need to upgrade your speeds. The following day I contact them to upgrade my speeds since it was only going to be an extra $20 a month, right? WRONG! $199.99 just to upgrade my internet speeds... Now they want to send a tech out to my house to fix the problem in about ohhhhhh a week. *insert eyeroll*
If you work from home or need to have reliable high speed internet (or you just don't want to get ripped off) then Spectrum is not the company for you!
Do not go with spectrum your life will be miserable when trying to resolve an issue. First they made me switch to a box. I had 100 channels with out a box. Then when they gave me the box I got 12 channels. They said I needed to upgrade My bill was 30.00 If I upgrade it was going up to about 90.00 to get what I had without a box. So I cancelled the tv service. I also had phone and internet. Security system through phone was off for 2 months they never called to tell me the line was not active, but I was getting charged. So I cancelled the phone line that was running my security. Then they said since my phone line was cancelled now I am not a bundle and my price will go up another 10.00 for less than I had earlier. But since I was an existing customer I can not get the promo deals. That I have to cancel all services for 30 days and resign as a new customer to get the promo prices. I was getting 30 megabits down load speed and they were charging me 97.00 So I cancelled and whent to HTC and am getting 200 megabits down load for less 79.00 also if you call you are sent on a wild goose chase and never getting the issue resolved. I have my own business and if i ran my business like Spectrum does I would be out of business. They have a Manopaly going on. If you have another choice I recommend going with there competitors your life will be a lot easier and less stressful.
Cable box goes out all the time. Poor customer service. Expensive for what you get. Spectrum makes it difficult to disconnect and opt out.
Dont get spectrum there horrible they are over priced an when u want to watch something its always subscribe an my bill is high with them
Waited two hours in line to get a new cable box, then never got one, horrible customer service, unfortunately they are the only show in town
I have been having trouble with my iternet service for the last 2-3 months. I've made call after call, somtimes being told that it was an "Area Problem," sometimes a Remote "Technical Support Fix' that didn't last but a few hours and the list goes on and on. It was not until last night, April 29th, around 7:00pm, a Technician named "Lenny" physically appeared at my home to rectify the problem. He was the NICEST, most KNOWLEDGEABLE person, in my opinion Spectrum has! If there are more like him, I congratulate you-If they aren't, you need to HIRE SOME! Thanks Again, Lenny!
I have had Spectrum wifi/internet for 3 years and the price has gone up by $35. I see no improvement in service to warrant such a large increase.
Too much to list it all...
*When it was Time Warner it had the best customer service of any adult life.
*Ever since Charter merged/took over, every department has had customer service steadily decline.
*However in the last week after moving just 35+/- away Charter/Spectrum has been an absolutely DISASTER!
*I've had to spend more than 20 hours in my 1st week in my new residence trying to resolve all issues, and it's still far from concluded.
*I'm being charged more than $60 more a month than the exact same plan I had at my former residence - without any reason!
Bottom line, unless senior management steps up soon to resolve the horrors caused by their poor employees and company policies & procedures... I would tell everyone to NEVER CHOOSE SPECTRUM OR CHARTER FOR ANYTHING!
Hopefully I'll get a positive resolution so can again recommend them. However they still need to get rid of many terrible employees, retrain at least many thousands, totally restructure ALL their customer interfaces, and make massive changes to their procedures & policies!
Spectrum is the worst provider. Internet, phone and TV go out consistently. Why are you even in business if you can't provide reliable service?
Everyone needs to switch from Spectrum and just maybe they will get the hint. You do not treat people this way. What happened to Customer Service?
Called customer service and it was just complete nonsense about still receiving a discount to "retail price". So misleading and who needs this?
Completely terrible service, internet goes on and off, basically a legalized scam, i lost 2 age of empires IV games cause internet disappeared
High bandwidth when it's working but goes down intermittently when you need it most. Sometimes slows to a crawl. The inconsistency is unacceptable.
I don't even know where to begin... They will do everything they can to rip off a customer. For several months they charged us a wireless/router fee when we use our own. When they came out to install it, something got messed up and every time the power would go out, we would have to factory reset our modem to be able to activate its wireless. Just a month ago, after about 8 months of issues and complaints, another technician came out to check if a different wall jack would work. Now the wireless on the modem works without having to reset factory settings. To me, this seems like they were trying to force us to use one of their modems so they could get additional money. Calls about this problem never changed anything. In fact, they blamed the modem itself even though it worked prior to them messing with something outside.
For the past few months we've had additional charges to our account. Auto pay is and has been set up since installation yet we constantly get late fees (and yes, there is plenty of money in the bank.) Every month we have to call to get it straightened out. The price suddenly went up an extra $10 without any warning. Not a big deal but would be nice to at least get some kind of notification ahead of time.
Customer service, in my experience thus far, has been some of the nastiest and rudest people I've ever talked to. It's to the point where we get very rude back because no matter how calm or nice you talk to them, they still treat you like dirt and always blame the customer.
We've had to have them go back on prior recorded conversations to justify a price or a fee waiver because the next month it gets added right back on, again, without any warning. They are also VERY persistent on trying to force additional services onto you even though you tell them no several times. It gets to the point where you just hang up on them because they don't want to take no for an answer.
If I could give them 0/5 stars, I would. Sadly, where I live there are no other options aside from satellite internet which I find very expensive and unreliable.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
Spectrum has a rating of 1.4 stars from 1,942 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Spectrum most frequently mention customer service, billing cycle and cable box. Spectrum ranks 53rd among Cable Television sites.
