I have used spectrum for years. The last few have been the worst yet. I had their 400 meg service and everything worked fine, no issues just constant speed and connection. COVID hit and it just went down hill. I upgraded to their 1 gig package and have never seen over 900 and that only twice in two years. Why haven't I left? Because despite being by the main drag through town the only competition is att and they only offer 25 meg dsl. It's sad that if you're an existing customer you get the shaft but they will offer all kinds of stuff to get you to switch to them. I worked for them once in sale's. I.left because I cannot in good conscience swindle someone to change from their fiber optic service to a service half the speed with 1/8th the consistency. I guess that just makes me a bad salesman and a not so good customer. I also have whee they now believe it's ok to turn your internet off 4 hours a day and as long as it's not 6hours or more your not entitled to a credit. Must be how they are covering the many.lawsuites against them. Cut corners where you can right.

Literally the worst most unreliable internet.
How many times can you ask me if you can send a technician out? How many times can you swap out my router or blame it on my new equipment? These are the outages confirmed via text message with your staff shown below.
March 13th, March 12th, March 11th, Feb 26th, Feb 22nd, Feb 21st, Oct 27th, July 28th, May 9th. Oh wait half the day and we will send the 14th tech over their to tell you your lines are all working along with your equipment.

Charter Spectrum has recently acquired my old service provider, and I couldn't be happier. For the longest time, my area was stuck on a 50 MB/s internet speed, which was alright, but once you have 4 people with all their devices in their rooms, it slows down, and do not get me started on steam downloads. However, once I received the letter in the mail about the buyout, I was ecstatic to learn that Charter Spectrum was offering up to 1 gigabit internet speeds.

The process of upgrading to the new service was seamless. A representative came to my house to replace my old modem with a new one, and it took no time at all to get it up and running. I was immediately impressed by the speed and reliability of my new internet connection. In fact, I have been live streaming my favorite video game, Destiny 2, at 1080p60fps to YouTube with zero issues. This is a significant improvement over my old 50 MB/s internet, where even 720p30fps was not possible for live streaming.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with Charter Spectrum's internet service. The upgrade process was quick and easy, and the internet speeds have exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Charter Spectrum to anyone looking for reliable, high-speed internet.

After being a loyal customer of TimeWarner/Spectrum paying timely, the co. Constantly applies hidden fees; trying to get info. About fees, employees never give customers straight answer. The new phone package offered charges $14.99 per gigabyte! That's ridiculous: If someone already has a plan using 60 gigs, then switching to Spectrum would be a totally loss for the customer. $14.99 x 60 = $89.40 (which has nothing to do with the cable service, channels charges & hidden fees. A customer's bill per month could be well over $200 or even $300! Spectrum agents state due to the cable channels rates increasing, Spectrum is raising rates on valued customers. That's NOT a good business practice. TimeWarner and now called Spectrum is a wealthy co. And should NOT be GREEDY creating extra fees to its' loyal customers. In lieu of Spectrum's high fees, it has ALSO dropped their loyal customer's favorite channels forcing them to "upgrade" in order to have access again to them - at a HIGHER rate! Before you consider Spdctrum as your cable company, PLEASE SEARCH SOMEWHERE ELSE for a BETTER and FAIR cable company.

Truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had trying to establish service with company. Think about it, these types of service providers just have to worry about set and initial establishment of service, after that it is a cash register. Wouldn't it make sense to make sure they got it right from the beginning? 4 cancelled appointments 12 phone calls over the course of 8 days trying to get service set up but THEY SENT A BILL BEFORE THEY EVEN HAD IT WORKING! They sent a bill for 470 bucks on the 11th when they had not even gotten the service working until the 14th. When asked what they were going to do about it, they offered a $20 credit to the account! Excuses, transfers, disconnected calls, the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with.

I have used their services since 2013 and the service was great up until now. Spectrum purchased Charter and changed the name in 2016, the service has went down hill and the prices for service have completely skyrocketed for cable and for mobile services. I purchased a new phone instead of buying a phone from Spectrum. I have been waiting now for 2 weeks for a new Sim Card to transfer my number to my new phone. I confirmed there were "technical issues" on Spectrums end and the Sim card "although they charged $10 for it - they never shipped the Sim card" and I requested if they could expedite the Sim card since I have been waiting over 2 weeks and they said "no" they could "only resolve the technical issue." I requested a manager that was never brought to the line and was only advised there was nothing more that could be done. At this point, I will most likely be transferring my service to another carrier. My advice to anyone "Stay away from this company Spectrum" the prices are NOT competitive and the service is Worse than a "McDonalds on a Friday night!"

I don't enjoy posting this, however if it happened to me, it could happen to you as well.
I was overcharged $25.00 to my credit card and was told it would go back to the original form of payment, my credit card. In reviewing my credit card statement, it was never credited.

Here is my conversation with Spectrum:
Me: "Why wasn't the credit applied to my credit card, like any other overage?"
Spectrum: "If we applied it to your credit card, we would have to make up for it and add it to your next bill."

Me: "Huh? Where is the logic in this? Since I was intentionally overcharged, it should refunded back to my credit card, so me the customer is made whole."
Spectrum: "Our system only allows to credit internally, not to an actual credit card."

Me: "So, let me see if I have this correct. Spectrum overcharged me $25.00 and won't refund me the money. And the only way I can get a refund to my credit card is to have another $25.00 added to my next bill?"
Spectrum: "That is correct."

Me: "Wow and not in a good way."

Horrible service

First I want to say that I'm a LONG LONG time Time Warner customer... whom ever states spectrum is great or does an excellent service... probably works for the company! Spectrum is a piece of garbage waisting my time for two weeks trying to get the cable & chanels going for $143 dollars a month & it's still the time I cannot see my Chanel's, it's been cal after call not counting I have waisted my gas's going inside Spectum local stores, I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A FIX! THIS COMPANY ALL IT DOES IS STEAL THE HARD WORKERS MONEY! Total piece of G A R B A G E! If you want to get STEALED GET SPECTRUM AS YOUR CABLE, INTERNET AND PHONE PROVIDER! If you have the option of going to another provider rather than spectrum DO NOT HESITATE ON DOING IT! My sincere recommendation! Don't let this people fool you or take your hard earned money!

Spectrum admitted I shouldn't have been charged an additional $25 fee, but since I hadn't noticed it for over 90 days, and continued to pay my regular amount, they could not remove the $25 fee, but could remove 1, $8 late fee associated with that fake $25 fee. I can't wait for Frontier to be in my neighborhood, so I can be done with Spectrum, who is not only a scamming company, fleecing their customers with fraudulent fees, but they also have the WORST customer service I have ever experiences.

I CONTACTED SPECTRUM ABOUT A TV + INTERNET BUNDLE, I DELT WITH JAMES IN MOORESVILLE NC, AND WAS TOLD MY BILL WOULD BE $119.99 + TAX A MONTH, GUARANTEED FOR 12 MONTHS, SO I AGREEDED TO HAVE IT INSTALLED... THE VERY NEXT WEEK MY PROMISED PROGRAMMED CHANNELS WAS CUT IN HALF, AND MY BILL WENT TO $159.99 + TAX + AN ADDITIONAL $40.00 IN EQUIPMENT COST ADDED, SO NOW I'M AT ALMOST $200.00,1/2 THE CHANNELS, AND A VERY SLOW LAGGING INTERNET...
I'M DEFINATELY CANCELING, AND SWITCHING BACK TO DISHNETWORK...

This is an example of a day with Spectrum. I'm paying for the ultra package of 400 mbps ($100/mo) and for most the day I'm receiving less than 10 mbps. I'm working from home as many of us are during the pandemic and cannot join video calls at work because my bandwidth is too low. I would not recommend this ISP.

Three different technicians, three opinions. First one said he couldn't help without a serial #. Second one said there was no way to use my LG tv remote with Spectrum channels, could only use Spectrum remote. Third one said to add my Spectrum username and password to LG tv set up.

1. I was unable to find the serial #. There was no 12 digit # on my box.
2. I was able to use my LG remote to get Spectrum guide and all channels for over a year before I unplugged all cables to move the tv and Spectrum channels disappeared. Technician said that was impossible, no way to use LG remote for Spectrum. That would mean I wouldn't be able to use my voice feature on LG remote, the channels would be blurry and I'd have to mess with two remotes to get Netflix or Prime.
3. There is no place on my LG tv set up to add my Spectrum username and password.

Bottom line: all the technicians were wrong. None know their product. I finally deleted all my tv settings, started over and set the whole thing up again. Guess what? It works now. I have Spectrum channels on my LG and can use its remote to access Spectrum guide and get to all the channels plus use voice and the picture is clear. I am no techie, but I am better than those who say they are. Spectrum: your technicians have a lot to learn.

Received a call from spectrum cable telling me about their internet service so I decided to get the service. The technician came to my house installed the internet. But the roku TV was not working. The technician left saying that the technical support at Spectrum would easily help me with this slight delay or issue. And left, trying on my own several times, still same problem.
I called technical support. And waiting for a eternity. Then I get this lady on the phone. She doesn't do anything, immediately she is saying "we did our part we are not responsible for 3rd party equipment. But here's the problem, this lady offers me no help. I told her that the technician would have to come by so at least I could watch actual TV. And the technician said if it's a big issue. Technical support could guide you to at least I could watch TV and I could figure out the problem.
Basically the story goes I could watch TV before the technician came in. But when he left I got nothing. AND I'M NOT PAYING FOR NOTHING. So I left spectrum. I was a customer since 2008or 2009 and this is the way you treat your long time clients. SHAMEFUL AND UNETHICAL!
