Was quoted 3 separate times for bundled package but every time it came to hooking up they either lowered the service or raised the rate that was quoted without notification. This was from both sales people and supervisors alike. Check with the installer before they begin your install. Spectrum will not give you anything in writing before you get your first bill. The VP of Sales even got involved at the end (due to my letter to CEO). He was able to go back and listen to the recordings but even he would not honor their prices. I'm filing w/ Better Business Bureau.
I switched over to spectrum from AT&T. I was very happy with AT&T, but the price kept going up. The guy who came out to install it didn't show me how to use the TV or the remote just dropped everything and left. Half the time at night I have no TV at all. A message comes up that you can't access the channel. Apparently they work on their stuff at night. If you're a night owl you can forget about having TV. The DVR is not user-friendly, and half the time there are lines in the video. Sometimes I can't watch my DVR programs back because there's some kind of maintenance going on. I have never been so unhappy with the service in my entire life.
I switched my business to Spectrum on July 12. After 8 technician visits and 43 hours of phone conversation, my services still do not work correctly. I have paid them almost $1000... but they were kind enough to credit me $20 for my troubles. They don't seem to even be trying to correct issues at this point. Not having adequate phone and internet service is crippling to a business. Anyone wanting full details of the whole debacle, feel free to contact me.
They are the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with. I was dumb enough to leave ATT for one of their specials. Not at all special. Try getting them to honor it. Cost me a bunch but will find another provider ASAP. May beg ATT to take me back. I could do a great commercial
This is the most horrible company out there! Their prices are ridiculous. My Dad died last year and Mom tried to cancel his sports channels. They said she had to come in person with a copy of his death certificate. She is in her 80's and no longer drives and we were in the middle of a pandemic. She asked if she could mail it in and they said no. She paid extra for an entire year. They would not allow me to bring it and Mom is also not well. They also won't let her cancel because the account is in Dad's name. The internet connectivity stinks and she gets kicked off at least 20 times a day. She had them come out and after 3 hours of working on it, it's worse than it was before. And on a personal note, every time you turn on the tv, there's a Spectrum ad (99% connectivity - that's a joke). But now their ads are bashing other companies which I find very off-putting. This company is a nightmare! I wish I could give it a big fat ZERO!
This is posted during the Corona virus crisis. Heard other companies were modifying what we owe so those of us who lost our jobs can survive, not only does Spectrum not help the woman said,,," you have the stimulus package coming, you can use that to pay the bill,"" Really! Apart from that being none of your business, when it comes through it will be to feed my kids, keep the lights on and put gas in the car... not give to a greedy company like you! Shame on you Spectrum... you promote yourself as the people's company. What a joke...
My internet has been going in and out all day. Automated system says it's their TV app. It's their internet. Called twice and while talking to a representative I either get disconnected or hung up on. They have my number but chose not to call me back. Extremely irritated but Charter/Spectrum don't care. Looking for alternatives.
Theres an old saying, "same crooks, different suits" usually aimed at politicians but this one is the cable companies. I left Wow after price increases and "locked in" at $161.mo with Spectrum, what a damn joke, few months later we are over $180 for cable and internet. No wonder there are so many different internet options out there and thats where I am going, Adios Crooks
Spectrum is so bad. I disconnected my service due to a move, because it was turned off 1 day after my billing cycle ended, I am being billed for a full month. As a bonus my promotional period ended at the same time so my bill went up $28 as well. They are forcing me to pay $189.07 for 24 hours of service. Spoke to two employees that both essentially said tough luck, it's in the fine print on all of our bills. I guess that makes it fair... unbelievably bad.
Everytime i call spectrum for anything they are rude non compassionate and don't care about their customers. We are in a financial hardship due to a lay off and i asked for our bill to be extended until next Friday which is 4 days past the last date and i would pay in full they denied it, I'm having major surgery the day before Friday I'm in school online and we have two babies... complete bull$#*!... i was with time warner for a decade and if i needed help they helped me really considering switching to DISH... at this point i have had spectrum for a year and hate it... the commercials are lies... rude customer service... not willing to add a few more days really... not happy with them... so sad
You should only consider paying Spectrum if you enjoy spotty internet connection randomly dropping 2-3 times a day and never with any reasonable excuse. The only thing you'll get from this company is negligence and headaches.
Doesn't deserve any star at all. Worst customer service ever. I cancelled service a day after the billing cycle started (from not knowing when the date billing begins) and was charged for a full month service. No one is willing to help or trying to understand you. Supervisor 'Joy' cited the law requires a full month charge without pro-rated. This is wrong under consumer protection. Need class action lawsuit against this company.
Spectrum has the worst service ever. Spent over two hours on the phone to get nothing resolved, with no equipment in my home working, including Internet, and I work from home and need it. But they had no sympathy and didn't care. Can't come for two days. Thanks for nothing! At $300 a month, you'd think service would be better.

We would have switched a long time ago, but the companies available in our rural area are few. About 98 percent of the times we've tried to watch Spectrum TV, it hasn't worked! When we've called customer service, they can sometimes get it working, once or twice. That's it. Then it's not working again. We only keep it because it's in a bundle with our internet, so it is cheaper to include this worthless television rather than just get the internet by itself.
We have been moving from one state to another a lot, therefore, had several different Internet services. Spectrum is the worst one so far. Other companies started raising price slowly by few cents towards the end of one or two year contract ends. Spectrum promised us certain price of bundle for a year, but every three months almost $3.00 went up blaming rising prices of other companies' services that Spectrum is using. I know that it is a pittance compare to what is to come after one year is over. On top of this, we get less movie channels. We are terminating Spectrum's service.
I'd like to encourage people to file a complaint on FCC's website, believe me, FCC is doing its job. We may not always get the results that we want, but they are on the FCC's record, this is how FCC investigates and fines the companies. We should be active not taking this lying down. Well, Spectrum received a hefty fine in NY not long ago.
Only in US, this kind of price gouging happens very unfortunately.
Am in a country club with bundled cable. I have added Internet, phone and smart home. TV quality fluctuating hourly from poor to good. Internet fluctuates hourly from none to acceptable. Have had over 10 service calls, all with differing stories. Net result is service is poorer today than 2 years ago. I even found them overcharging my account. No refunds for overcharge or credits for bad service.
I have searched for the small print that claims freezing is normal, DVR controls only work on a few sections, loss of signal goes in and out with digital artifacts and cold booting may be required each day to get the system back. What page is that on?
Customer Service is responsive when I call but, I am on my fourth DVR and why would I need another? Is there a problem being worked on that we can't be told about?
Can somebody give me a clue?
The equipment they use is extremely low end, and causes a lot of connection difficulties. They also have issues with not scheduling maintenance properly, doing it when people are trying to work. I've had to boost my hotspot twice now due to Spectrum's bad decision making and inability to keep things running. We are switching to AT&T Fiber. We are done.
Slow and unreliable, this service is not ready for prime time. My tv is hard wired to the modem and it only works occasionally. Works on a pc sometimes then crashes. At its best it still freezes occasionally. I'm not impressed.
This is one of those times when I can agree with all the lousy reviews. Take notice that almost all are one star. This has got to tell you something about this terrible company. I tried to send them an email by clicking on their link and it never affords me the opportunity. I use the same email address and yet it keeps telling me it can; t find it. For those who are reading these and considering this company, GO ELSEWHERE. Our streaming device will lose the signal quite a bit. I have had to disconnect and re-boot the modem more times that I can recall. And, like others my bill is way too high.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
Spectrum has a rating of 1.1 stars from 1,943 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Spectrum most frequently mention customer service, billing cycle and cable box. Spectrum ranks 53rd among Cable Television sites.
