My parents have had cable since 1975. I called to have cable wires removed from the exteriors walls of the home. The installation of new cable was 10 years ago and the techs should have gone through the attic for placing the cables. Instead the wires run along the ceiling of one room and on the baseboard of another room. My elderly parents hid the cable wires with furniture. Looking more closely, it's a complete eye soar. There are double cable wires on two sides of the exterior walls of the home. All of this was improperly installed. After being treated so shabbily, we decided to go with ROKU. Spectrum will install cable, but will not remove wires. Ever. It's a horrible way to end a long time relationship. My parents were very loyal. I will never, ever have anything to do with Spectrum. Run for the hills. Get ROKU. Better service.
Just Horrible not helpful. If you request a change make sure they do it before you hang up. Two months later and they still charging me... We need another network provider besides these robbers! Just credit my account!
Spectrum is the worst company I've ever had this displeasure to work with. Their service is crap -- complete garbage. I have a large number of devices on my wifi network and they all go down every 30 mins -- cameras, TVs, thermostat, alarms, etc. You want to talk to someone to get technical help? Good luck -- you'll be on hold for 4 hours for them to tell you to restart your modem. I'm switching to another service as I type this. Stay away from this company - FAR AWAY.
Literally every night all my services stop working for no reason. Takes 10-20 Mins to Work again. I have to call them 2-3 times a week. Worst service Ive ever had! They should be paying me for wasting my time and all the stress
Spectrum's customer service is terrible. It is worth looking somewhere else just based on who you will have to interact with. They increased my monthly bill significantly and refused to work with me. Their representatives were rude and ill-mannered. Save your time. Shop elsewhere.
Was late on payment due to the pandemic and having difficulty finding a new job. I've been with them for over 10 years with all payments made on time and they cannot provide me an extension as I wait for relief to activate. The customer service lady keeps repeating over and over, "there is nothing we can do at this time. Is there anything else we can help you with?" She must've copied and pasted that like 10 times as I was pleading with her. As if she did not give a crap.
Also, they have been charging me more for the same service they were offering new customers. $25 a month more than what I have been seeing advertised. Their service isn't all that great either. Internet would go out very often and for long periods.
Where do I start with these ppl... My converter box constantly going out.On demand. When it does work which is about 30 to 40% of the time. No rewind. No pause... no fast forward cause they shove a billion commercials down your throat. How is this joke of a provider still in business... Switching to dish network as soon as I get the money... Screw you Spectrum... YOU SUCK!
I don't know why anyone would willingly choose Spectrum as their provider for any service. Constant outages, dropped speeds, and general slowness make them a nightmare, not to mention making working from home almost impossible. The number of times I have to apologize for a bad connection on a video conference (even when nothing else is connected) is embarrassing. I get a better, more reliable connection with my Verizon mobile hotspot.
It also makes having a connected home more if a hassle than a benefit.
These people don't deserve 1 star. Every few days service is interrupted. Sometimes for hours on end. This time had no TV in living room for 6 days waiting on repair man to show up. Finally showed up an hour pass window they set. Then got up this morning to no TV or internet. They say now it will be 4 days before they can come out. Turning it off why pay almost $200.00 a Month and go without 25% of time.
Worst customer service ever! Sat on the phone with three different agents who did nothing but waste my time. Second one kept me on hold for 20 minutes without saying a word. Then comes on and says I can't seem to get into your account! Yes that's what she said! Then transfer me to another specialist who says sorry I didn't even know that you were residential I can't deal with residential customers. Let's face it when you want to cancel a service they put you through the ringer till you give up. Problem is I have enough tenacity to work now they just lost me as a customer for good. I have the ability to switch to another provider which is exactly what I will be doing. Good luck with this company they are horrible
This is got to be the most incompetent company I've ever dealt with. Are use them for a total of three years. I did move to different apartments in the apartment complex. I would pay my bill in full before I move to the other. Let's just say their bookkeeping is not very good because even three years later I get random calls from collection agencies even though my spectrum app shows a zero balance and I have receipts showing paid in full. Their business tactic for collecting are also horrible. You know yell and scream at a 58-year-old man and threaten them. Especially from somebody that's trying to work something out. But they push me to the point that I'll never use them again and I advise you not to use them also.
Internet connection bounces up and down all day every day. Had techs out to the house numerous times, same result. Eventually we just gave up and we live with the frustration. Also, worst cell phone service. Ordered replacement phone, but once it arrived found out it was added as a third line. So far has taken 2 rectify, but when I called was told they have 3 days to fix such things so I just have to wait! So, 3 calls to Spectrum, 3 visits to 2 different Spectrum and still can't use my phone. The people at the stores seem to be very poorly trained, if at all, nor does anyone seem to care about any of it. They're sure quick with insincere, condescending apologies though.
Like many other consumers, I am fed up with cable... specifically Spectrum (Charter Communications). They over charge for service. My internet is now 71.00 for basic service with NO channels. For another $20 I can subscribe to full cable. How is that fair? Spectrum is using the reversal of the Net Neutrality law to up their price. They have a monopoly on my area, which is against the law... and why are they not being challenged? Every review online is 2 stars or lower. And like others, the online site locks me out every month. I have missed payments because the site was down and the wait time for the phone was over 15 minutes. I do not live my life for Spectrum. Save your money and try to find another option... you will extremely unhappy with Spectrum services.
Spectrum tech was supposed to come and install new service between 9-10 am.
It is now 10:50 and no one came or called to reschedule the appointment.
Very annoying since I plan my day around this appointment.
Spectrum is the pits! I was offered a great deal by the salesperson. My bill reflected a much higher rate. Customer service said there was no such offer. Sent a text to the sales person with my concerns. Oh, he had made his sale so he did not respond. Unfortunately, this is the only provider in this new area of the city. Other areas of the same city have multiple providers. This monopoly needs to be stopped. I am considering going without cable and using a Verizon hotspot for internet. Disgusting!
They charge a high price for internet access and then don't discount you for all the outages they have, Im highly disappointed with their services. I do not recommend unless you like to throw your money away.

Lies, deceit, bad business practices, they have lots of lawyers... and they scam people by pushing aggressive sales tactics... understaffed retail locations with no phone # listed for retail, and retail employees tell all sorts of lies or they just dont get training... all departments have major disconnect and convoluted issues that pass the buck all over with no clear resolutions. Moral is at ultimate low with agents, and everyone hates their job because the customers are made out to be annoying, stupid, and not worthy since they cant read the minds of the under trained employees of Spectrum Mobile.
I love the monopoly this company has...and has everyone by the ba**s when it comes to being the only provider available per community. Not only are they ridiculously overpriced so they can run TV ads every three commercials, they won't pro-rate their bills and screw you to the end. I disconnected my service because I sold my house and only had the service for 8 days into the billing cycle. They refused to pro-rate the bill or give me any kind of discount whatsoever on the final bill. This company is truly a piece of sh*t and care only about numbers to make sure their top execs get their multi-million dollar bonuses every year...disgusting, They are everything that is wrong with corporate America.
Worst service after almost 10 years with them. Charge you a full month for one day service. They accidentally disconnected my internet service then nobody in the office know how to reconnect them and put me on hold for 2 hrs keep forwarding me to different people even the supervisor does not know how to fix, still unable to reconnect worst service ever.
Was quoted 3 separate times for bundled package but every time it came to hooking up they either lowered the service or raised the rate that was quoted without notification. This was from both sales people and supervisors alike. Check with the installer before they begin your install. Spectrum will not give you anything in writing before you get your first bill. The VP of Sales even got involved at the end (due to my letter to CEO). He was able to go back and listen to the recordings but even he would not honor their prices. I'm filing w/ Better Business Bureau.

Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
