Not a big fan of Southwest. Sometimes I have to fly them for business and the seats are always really uncomfortable for me for some reason. The staff is friendly though, but that doesn't matter if your back is always hurting!
We are frequent travelers, and this was the worst experience I've ever had. There are no seat assignments which causes the herd of cattle to trek to the back of the plane looking for an aisle or a window. When none is found the passengers are asked to sit quickly in all middle seats by flight attendants that are not as cute and clever as they think they are. You will most likely be in the back of the plane unless you pay extra for "group a", which newcomers have no clue about. You also will not get to sit with your travel companion. No wonder there is so much passenger rage, after being crammed in like sardines with no air, or civility. Someday in the future will the industry realize how they are treating people and redesign the planes to be humane (JetBlue does a great job with this). We were denied any water or drinks or bathroom breaks for supposed turbulence that was undetectable for the whole 2 hour flight. I got off the plane with stiffness and wobbly legs from the cramped conditions and inability to get up to use the restroom. (I am young!). I will never fly southwest ever again.
Their wifi service does suck, i had two connections, and each time they charged me for it. I tried to get my money back, but they have no support, no anything, the only name i got out of the csr i talked to was Row44, and they don't help you either! I had like 5 minutes of connectivity and then KAPUT, no more internet! Thanks Southwest, you really know how to ruin a good flight!
I'm very disappointed and will always give a bad review. I was forced to put my purse in an overhead ben with my persiyems in it. Don't fly with southwest
My 18-year-old had a flight from Midway to Charlotte on December 23 and they're 18 years old. Their flight was canceled after being delayed for one hour and when I called the one 800 number they said it was due to technical issues and my 18-year-old to get a hotel voucher and they were booked on the next flight in the morning which would've been Christmas Eve morning. My daughter was told that they needed to sleep on the floor in the airport and they would not receive a voucher. After talking to the person on the phone, I told my daughter to get back in line and the person at the gates said that it was due to weather, and they did not allow voucher. Then the flight on December 24. Christmas Eve morning was canceled immediately after that for no reason. My daughter was scheduled for a Christmas day. So we received no voucher no refund on the flight. No explanation for why I was canceled and my daughter is stuck in Chicago for Christmas away from their family. Southwest you suck especially for keeping me on hold for 1.5hours and then hanging up on me.
Do NOT fly Southwest if you have toddlers. Their boarding system is HORRIBLE for families with little kids. They let you on only after the A group has boarded and over half of the A group saves a seat or two or 6 (!@#$%&!) for their companiins in B or C group. Flight attendants not helpful, actually consdescending, whwn you are rushing to the toilet with a kid that really has to go.
My husband and I had been looking on all the "best deal" sites to book a vacation to Jamaica. At first glance we thought we found good deals only to find all these added money's. We always fly Southwest if possible so I went on to check airfare and saw their package deals. I had just assumed they'd be way more expensive but to my delight they were $1,000 cheaper than Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia ect. So next week we will be in Jamaica with a lot more money. Thanks Southwest!
I've been flying Southwest since I was a kid and it seems like even since back then everything they do is geared towards making the customer experience as pleasant as possible. From the interactions with staff, to the fun ways they try to make you smile, and the complimentary drinks on holidays. I've flown United and Airlines and I always felt like a sheep just being herded along, they're missing the human component that Southwest does so well.
I fly this route once a year and its always easy breezy. South West always had a very courteous staff. The planes seem a little old but I'd rather take the lower price with the courteous staff over any thing else. I'll bring my own gizmo's to make me happy. ;)
They always have the best prices even before you start calculating the ridiculous baggage fees that other airlines charge! I use to spend hours looking for the best ticket price and it always ended up being w SW... so, now I just go straight to Southwest :)
Bags do fly free, the customer service is Outstanding, unlike other airlines, one in particular, I guess I cant mention. They're on time record with me has been amazingly good. On one occasion, they did have to cancel a flight, for a mechanical issue. They put me up in an Hilton, and provided transportation there and back. Upon arrival, they apologized again for the inconvenience, and discounted my return flight 50%t. Now THAT'S how you make a customer for life. I was shocked at how they made a very bad situation bearable. To me, that's beyond the call of duty. I've Never had an airline do anything like that before. Usually you spend the night on a damn airport chair, receiving a, "Deal with it," attitude." I fly Southwest everywhere they have a route, and recommend them to everyone I know; now I recommend them to you. I travel allot for business. They are business that cares about their clientele. So rare these days!
I have flown this airline twice, and except for having to remember to check-in 24 hours prior to leaving, I have had nothing but good experiences. Once you get the hang on how they operate, it's enjoyable.
I usually fly with another airline just because they are so cheap but when I needed to fly from LA to Sacramento, Southwest was the best price around! I paid maybe $60 for the ticket itself and the flight was incredibly fast. By the time I got my snack and drink (for free!), it was about time to land already. I really enjoy how they boarded us as well. It was basically a first come first serve on choosing seats. The flight attendants were hilarious and made it such a good time!
I fly to Newark, NJ, two to three times a year on Southwest because of pricing, amusing flight attendants, and on time arrivals. Southwest's people give great customer service, too. One time, planes had trouble getting in and out of Newark due to weather. After a two hour delay, an agent flagged another woman and me and rushed us to another gate to board plane that was leaving for Dallas (our destination). She had snagged two seats on that flight for us without our asking. It was awesome!. I love southwest!
I fly SWA twice a month and they are the best, given the way seating and lines and full flights has become the norm.
My only complaint is the gate agents, sometimes they just don't handle a problem very well.
Flight crews are always up, happy and extremely good at managing very crowded conditions on these airplanes.
Let's face it, airlines are not what they used to be. If I had to choose the best one right now though, I would go with Southwest. In my experience, they have been the friendliest and most organized. Still pricey, but they all are.
Since Southwest opened a hub here in my Baltimore, I have flown with them at least 30 times without a problem within their control. I so appreciate the transparency of their pricing and the ability to book legs separately. Great value, great sales, and for the most part - great staff and in-air service.
Southwest, in their advertisements as well as the way they communicate to Employees, is very revealing in their sincerity and seriousness in delivering world class customer service. I used to work in large corporations, so I notice this stuff. They capitalize both Customers and Employees. Ok, big deal right? But at least to the customer, they are respectful, courteous, and maintain a cheerful professional attitude, something that's got to be real challenging in today's world of stressful air travel, grumpy passengers, etc. I have never seen an Employee who showed any anger or frustration that they might be feeling. Their fares are good but not always the cheapest, but I appreciate that they don't nickel and dime you over everything like carryons, seats, baggage like other discount competitors. At least with the competitors, dumb looks are still free.
Decent rates and bags fly free! You can't find their rates on other travel sites, so you have to go to Southwest.com to find them. I just returned from a trip to Orange County from MSP, and since it was during Spring Break (and I'm not a student), I found the best deal was to travel on Thursdays. All my flights were on time, the staff was nice everywhere. I have only good things to say about Southwest.
I've been flying southwest since I was a kid and on the rare occasion I've had to take another airlines I immediately see the difference. Southwest just gets customer service and go out of their way to help and make the flying experience a friendly one. Add on a great policy for checked bags, points, and reservations- makes Southwest the #1 airlines in my opinion.
Answer: Extremely hard, expect to wait. I was put o. Hold for 30 minutes then the agent was polite but not helpful and the problem was not solved
