I've been flying southwest since I was a kid and on the rare occasion I've had to take another airlines I immediately see the difference. Southwest just gets customer service and go out of their way to help and make the flying experience a friendly one. Add on a great policy for checked bags, points, and reservations- makes Southwest the #1 airlines in my opinion.
Southwest customer service is the best in the industry. During recent winter snow storms in the northeast our flights were cancelled. Over the course of two day I spoke to 5 or 6 different people from Southwest who tried to help us get on new flights, they were all extremely helpful and polite. Due to the weather it was impossible to get on any flights and we were promptly credited the full amount of our airfares.
Thanks for being superior in customer service I will continue to be a loyal Southwest customer.
I find Southwest's practices to be straightforward with no unpleasant surprises. When you are shopping airfares, you know the fare posted includes 2 checked bags. Other airlines, you have to find out how much they are going to tack on for having the audacity to have luggage. Consequently, on those airlines, boarding always includes a mad scramble by the crew as they try to find room for everyone's "carry-on" because no one wants to pay the extra fee for checking a bag.
I have heard a lot about Southwest in the news lately and I wanted to share my thoughts. I have many friends that work for them here and they all rave about Southwest as an employer. I only fly with them when I do.
I love Southwest! I have used a few other airlines and I usually regret it! The staff is always courteous and helpful. They were amazing during my young daughter's first flight and their employees went out of their way when I got stuck in a huge line at curbside check-in and almost missed my flight! They got my bag on my flight, which they told me probably wouldnt happen and I was helped through security to make sure I made my flight. I've had to cancel/reschedule flights and they were great about it. The planes are clean and roomy. Their prices are also great and I like the fact that they offer ways for you to earn rapid rewards points. I signed up to a survey website that you can buy points with the money you earn from the surveys and it goes right to your RR points account.
While I'm sad that I'm to the point in life where I have enough miles to upgrade to first class and there is no first class, Southwest is still my preferred choice. The staff are always helpful (and funny!) and I like having control over where I sit. Also, no baggage fees!
I flew Southwest recently and was apprehensive about the flying experience in the middle of a global pandemic. You know what? It may have been the best set of SWA flights that I ever had (and I have flown them a bunch). The service from SWA employees was spot on and I felt safe/clean the entire time. Yes, it was a bummer there was no drink service - but I hit a spot during my layover. Overall, they are doing a good job in the a tough situation. I hope they can keep it going.
Wanna get away is fantastic! Great for last minute bookings. The only airline that I know of who allows 2 bags at no charge. I had a connecting flight I missed and they arranged for another flight at no charge and no fees.
Best airline out there for cost and being on time. You can pick your own seat when you board the plan so if you are one of the first to board, since you have to stand inline to board, there are no seats given before then. And the staff is very funny, so it is always a good ride.
I had to make a quick trip to NC from CHI for my Uncles funeral. I booked a ticket last minute and later cancelled because I had second thoughts about the cost. My Aunt insisted I com and she would loan me the money. The SWA customer service agent quickly pulled up my history and was able to be create the ticket in less than 5 mins. KUDOS!
I will never fly another airline again! They are super nice No assigned seating and free bags What more can you cay
I fly 3 or 4 times a year from Cleveland to phx and my son fly's from Portland to phx
Im very happy with the Southwest Airlines in Boise Idaho! Sasha my therapy dog and i was waiting to bord the plain I was starting to have a panic attack the lady at desk were I checked in said I could go in first so I didnt have to go in with the crowd! I made it home safe and Im very happy! Thank you! Southwest air I will tell every one I know
Love it! Simple, clear, consumer friendly website, and competitive pricing. Love the Wanna Get Away deals! Staff are wonderful as well! Great flight experience this passed June 2013.
Two nights ago I paid $1200.00 for a round trip ticket to Atlanta for 11/22/22 returning to Seattle 11/29/22. I arrived in Denver 12:30 pm with a connection to Atlanta at 5pm. I have paid for a rental car and hotel. Unbeknownst to me the flight was changed from gate C 61 to gate C 47 10 minutes after the boarding was to take place, I inquired and was told that the flight changed to C 47 which was a 3-4 minute walk and that they would phone ahead to let them know that I was on the way. When I arrived I was told that the flight had departed. That the only thing available was at 5:00am. I asked for a complimentary room, I was denied. I called customer service and was told that I would receive a call in 16 minutes. That call back came in 33 minutes and I had to wait on hold another 12 minutes before a live person came on the phone. All she could do was say I am sorry. My wife and I have been loyal Southwest Customers over 20 years. A few years ago Southwest bumped me for a lady with a dog at least that time they provided a room for overnight convenience. While writing this review I was told that someone canceled on Flight 1679 to Atlanta. Told him that I would take it. Hopefully I can retrieve my luggage. They more than likely bumped someone else it strange that I got a Business Select seat A-10
Make sure you check in 24 hours in advance - I used to hate getting a C ticket, but now I always check in 24 hours in advance to make sure I get the A ticket. Now they also have A 1-10, A 11-15, so it really does pay to check in exactly 24 hours in advance.
Southwest Airlines has a site popping up on facebook offering 2 free seats. IT IS A SCAM! They hook you into this site to sign-up for free merchandise, and it just continues, and continues, and you can't get out. After hours, you've signed-up for all kinds of products for $1.00, or free with only shipping, and NEVER ANY TWO FREE SEATS ON SOUTHWEST! Do not fall for this scam. You will get this in the mail you owe for for months! I had to close my credit card no., and get a new one, and had to do the same with my bank account. I sincerely hope Southwest Airlines isn't behind this, because I love flying with them, but won't be until I get some answers from them on this scam on Facebook. Beware... NOTHING is for FREE any more!
Back in Feb, I was flying home on my birthday after visiting a friend who was critically ill. I get to the Boston Logan airport and ask if my flights are running on time. I was told them were. When I got to my layover, is when all the issues began. I was first told my connection was canceled at 8am Eastern time. Than the agent started to swear at me when i asked how am I supposed to get home. He said you will be booked on a flight between Wednesday and Friday next week, but more than likely Friday of next week. I asked him what other airlines flies out of this airport and the agent response was " I don't bleep have to tell you". The agent gave the same answer about a rental car. The agent finally said I am spending you and the rest of the Albuquerque passages to El Paso and let yous be there bleepen problem.
No exchange fees - free bags and excellent customer service... what more is there to say? As a travel agent, I always recommend them. Corporate travel or liesure
Not only do they have very, very funny, warm people on their cabin crews, but my aged mother had to travel this afternoon -- on oxygen, can't walk 40 feet. We couldn't figure out how to coordinate assistance. We pulled up at the departure drop off. SOUTHWEST HAD WHEELCHAIR RIGHT THERE ON THE SIDEWALK! Turns out Southwest always has a wheelchair out there! Just FABULOUS!
One of the best customer service I ever experienced. Makes you feel valuable as a customer. I got drink coupons, just wish they wouldn't expire ever. Love this airline
Answer: Extremely hard, expect to wait. I was put o. Hold for 30 minutes then the agent was polite but not helpful and the problem was not solved
