Worst Service Ever
December 12, 2020

I made a hotel reservation thinking I was on the hotel's website. Got the confirmation and saw that the order was DOUBLE the room rate. I immediately called RESERVATIONS.com (maybe 60 seconds later) asked to speak to a supervisor/manager and they could not help me cancel the reservations. This company is absolutely highway robbery and has the worst customer service EVER. Will never use them again. I wish ZERO stars were a rating option.

I called on 3/25 to ask questions about a hotel, was asked if I wanted to make a reservation and said yes but wasn't told in advance that I would be charged $14.99 to make a reservation. I was capable to make the reservation on my own. I have called 3 times and over 30 days later to get the charge refunded but haven't been successful yet.

This company disguised themselves as the hotel I was booking at so that I didn't know it was a 3rd party. Then when I had to cancel with in the 24 hour window due to a death in the family they would not do it without consent from the hotel. When I called the hotel directly to get consent they gave it. However, Reservations.com cancelled with the hotel and kept my money still. They are scam artists. Never ever book through reservations.com.

Why are they allowed to be in business? Don't use this site! It it not cheaper or easier than just contacting the hotel of your choice. I spoke to Rex (ok that's his name) not only was he not willing to help in anyway, he suggested I sell the room. Two questions, who would I sell it to? And it clearly says a credit card IN THE NAME OF the person in which the reservation was made must be presented to hotel for in room purchases, was REX trying to screw me twice?

I am appalled - I didn't even know I was using them, I went to the hotel's website. This firm billed my credit card a month in advance of my stay, and when my mother's surgery got rescheduled due to the coronavirus panic, I tried to cancel. They refused to refund my $199. I am absolutely appalled.

Booked a room at 4 nights at Gold Strike Casino - Robinsville MS. (Previous Customer) Called number on hotel website. Through Reservations.com $347.92. Researched web for other phone #. Called hotel direct 3 nights comped. One night charge $69.00 and they are negotiable on comping that night too. Charged $12.99 for cancellation fee by Reservation.com. Reservation made and cancelled in less than 1 hr. At least I learned something.

I went on line today and did an online booking for the Renaisssance Emonton Airport hotel. The live chat came up and I asked if this was payable in Canadian Funds, was advised yes. When the email came through it was in American Funds which equated to some $100 more in fees that calling and booking with the hotel directly. I called Reservations.Com on 4 occasions today and got an extreme run around, I had to call the hotel and ask if they would cancel, was told I had to call the hotel as it is non refundable. They also advised that they were an agent of the hotel which was false reservations.com pays Google to be out in front. So as it stands at this time I am waiting to have this cancelled, I believe this is consumer fraud and this company should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. If satisfaction is not reached I will have to deal with the Credit Card Company to cancel payment. Wish I had read these reviews first.

Well, it looked like the hotel website, not a 3rd party. Web site crashed before giving a confirmation code, showed an error message, and "try again later". So I tried later. Three days later: double charge to credit card. Three calls with long hold times: two calls dropped, third "our operator in Elbonia will get back to you in 6 to 10 days" for a reservation in 4 to 5 days. Email 12 days later says "no refund" for second charge. STAY AWAY from any variant of my_favorite_hotel.reservations.com. Double billing AND horrible service.

SCAM - Don't use them
October 7, 2019

Did not realize it was not a direct reservation to hotel and no where do they tell you that they will charge you a $19.99 service fee that is non-refundable. It says you can reserve and cancel anytime, but that is not true. They charge your card up front and you have to cancel 48 hours before reservation and they do not give you the $19.99 back. I tried to cancel within 5 minutes of making the reservation and they would not refund it. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

Recently tried to cancel a 2 day Hilton reservation that I inadvertently made via this booking site because of a recent COVID diagnosis. The local Hilton did acknowledge that I had the reservations but refused to allow me to cancel my reservations even though my request was well in advance of normal cancellation deadlines "because the reservation had been made via a third party. I should have recognized this was a suspicious business operation because when I made my original request I never received a email confirmation of my reservations and my credit card was immediately charged for both nights including an additional "booking charge". I didn't realize there was a third party involved until I researched my credit card statement and found two toll-free numbers associated with the reservation. The first of these numbers in DE was no longer in service and the other was in Utah. The Utah number did answer my call but failed to provide any customer service.

Reservations.com is the the worst on-line reservation company around. There are approx 1700 complaints with the BBB. They are able to make it appear that you are making your reservation directly with the hotel. They state a low nightly price and when you hit the reserve now button, you realize that you have not booked directly with the hotel and the price is significantly higher. When you call them, they hang up on you if your stay is not within 7 days so you have to call back and lie to speak to anyone. They will not explain why the rate is higher than advertised and then they charge you $20 to cancel. The complaints at the BBB are all pretty much the same. This company should be shut down.

SCAM ALERT!
August 13, 2021

I Googled the name of a specific chain motel (Rodeway Inn) to book a reservation. At the top of the list was a reservation site that I thought was Rodeway Inn. Room rates were quoted. I selected a room and completed booking with my personal info and credit card information. Never did I see the total including taxes and fees. I didn't see the total until I looked at my confirmation email. Along with taxes which I assumed would be attached was a $19.99 "service fee"! I contacted Reservations.com to ask for a refund. I was told a refund is in process but it has been almost 3 weeks - nothing. I have filed a dispute with my credit card issuer. Who charges a $20 fee to book a reservation? STAY AWAY!

Totally disgusted
September 30, 2017

Had to stay for an extra night to extend our holiday due to my husband's back-accident. Hotel said to book it through their website which i did. Then when checked if the reservation went through i was told on reception that the money was taken out twice from our account and that if i called Expedia then they would refund the money taken out by mistake. When i called Expedia they said that i was not their booking, it was a third party booking called reservations.com. Called them 3 times the advisors were polite and helpful but still refund. Eventually after being persistent and calling them again they did refund the money but not the $14.99 which if i did not check my account would not even realize was taken out. Imagine the money they making on dublicate bookings and on the $14.99 hidden fee... this is theft.

Never ever use this piece of trash company to book a room. Most unprofessional, disloyal customer service iv ever delt with in my life. Especially there "supervisor" or should I say Stupidvisor. His name is Rex, the guy knows nothing about his own company, likes to talk down to his customers (called my wife stupid for not knowing there non refundable policy) bunch of bull$#*!! Not to mention just completely hangs up the phone in the middle on a conversation. We got scammed out of 270$ from this piece of $#*! company and I'm making sure that hopefully people see this and decide to never book anything through them.

Was traveling in NC need room for 2 in Mount Airy could hardy understand agent was able to book room
But come to find out it was Mount Airy California. Tried to call hotel explain what happened no help, called
reservations.com support ….keep in mind I wasn't asking for refund or compensation just to rebook at correct state they were no help and refused to rebook at correct state and city. Poor customer relations,
Poor business to use…there's a reason they get 1.7 rating out of 5 on any review sites, plus no bbb rating
Please book through trusted sites or directly with hotel. Be careful there site pops up first when requesting
Reservations online not actual hotel.

I know I tried to cancel my reservation after 24 hours, but I am a 68 year old lady and I thought I had the hotel I was going to stay in sight. Reservations.com is very deceiving. I was very honest with their customer service, but they still would not refund my money. Also, the charge was on my credit immediately and I hadn't even stayed there yet. The hotel is great and their people were great. I would stay there again, but I would call them direct and never ever go through reservations.com.

It was great experience to work with Reservation.com, they help me to booking a good hotel, which gave me a great pleasure to spend my vacation with my family, they always provide the best rates around and I never had any issues with my resarvations. They are the most reliable reservation website around. When they say guaranteed best rates, they mean it!

It is the worst example of business ethics and costumer service because they are only interested in taking your money. I accidentally booked with them thinking I was booking directly from the hotel (for a PO) and immediately after canceling different representatives have been given me the round around for two weeks and still no refund.
Avoid them at all costs! Also, their rooms are overcharged! The same room directly from the hotel was $70 cheaper. I agree Google shouldn't allow them to appear in its engine search!

Scam
June 24, 2022

This site has no affiliation nor capability to secure, modify or cancel a reservation. The customer service is abysmal. We made a reservation for a one-night stay and got charged for two. Before checking in, we advised them of the error, and they couldn't modify the reservation.
