I booked a car rental with them but because I have an account I failed to change the name in the booking. The car was for my wife but my name appeared on the booking. Now, I understand it is nonrefundable but there are mistakes. I was not asking for a refund but simply a way to add my wife as a driver. It took me two weeks to get to talk to someone. First, they told me that it should be The Dollar rental to make the change. I contacted Dollar and they said they can't even access the booking and neither can I. So first they lied to me and then they said, there is nothing we can do. I was forced to book another car so $ 500 was gone. I understand that orbitz made $500 out of thin air but they will never get my business again and I will try to convince as many people as possible to stay away from them.
Well over a month ago, I reserved a rental car with Economy through Orbitz. However, when I got to the rental office, I was told I had no reservation. Immediately, I called Orbitz and was told that I DID! Economy still said no. I was left stranded in LA in the middle of the night. After half a dozen calls to Orbitz over the last month, I finally spoke with a supervisor there and my refund was immediately processed. I don't know where the original fault lay, but I am happy to give Orbitz credit for making it right.
Confirmed reservation in Vegas and there was no car for me. After an hour and a half still no car and Customer service offered me a $25 dollar coupon towards my next travel booked through Orbitz. Like that will ever happen Missed my parents 65th anniversary in California, because I couldn't find another car in time to get me there. Thanks a lot for nothing Orbitz.
Guys, I missed my flight because you didn't book it through your site after I paid you near $10,000 and then you guys take 6 hours to fix the flight for me to leave the next day? You have no respect for my time, my personal life and there is no way for you to compensate for my time lost!
So, I bought my tickets through Orbitz.com and then when I arrived at the airport, you did not have me booked on the flight that I booked through your site and then you make me fight on the phone for hours and hours with total disregard for my time and the personal reason's I had to fly back home? This is total abuse and a poor system if this is how you handle your customers'! I am still on the phone waiting and it's MIDNIGHT!
I needed to get orbitz to arrange. They only mentioned " we cannot do that " whereas they should inform the carrier. Only after a twitterfest and tweets to every party I could think of, I was helped by Delta customer service. Thanks, orbitz! (Not).
However they had the best price for the ticket, hence the 2 stars
NEVER use Orbitz! I booked a flight via Orbitz months ago. Since then, I have received hundreds of promotional e-mails from Orbitz. At least one per day and usually several per day. I tried unsubscribing - no luck, the e-mails never even slowed down. I blocked the address of sender - no luck, the e-mails started up again. I directed the e-mail to my spam folder - no luck, it started hitting my inbox again. How is this even possible? I contacted corporate - TWICE - each time I was assured the e-mails would stop. They have not. I am losing my mind...
Had booked a motel on Orbitz via my phone a couple of hours before arriving at a motel. After arriving at the motel, they told us they had no reservation for us. We soon discovered the reservation had been made for two weeks down the road. The motel told us they could make a reservation for us but we would have to contact Orbitz to get any kind of refund for the future reservation. We then went back to my phone to make a new reservation at said motel since it was cheaper than reserving directly through the motel. Thinking it was all my fault for the mess up, I tried Orbitz again. This time I noticed after I had sent the reservation info it had changed the date on me to two weeks in the future. I hadn't noticed this the first time, so I had confirmed it that first time. We then tried my wife's phone and it was doing the same thing. I contacted Orbitz about this and they said there was nothing they could do, so no refund for the booking of the future reservation. I have been a faithful Orbitz customer for 18 years but have ended my relationship with them. I will now patronize Expedia, which is the company I ended up using due to Orbitz website screwing things up.
Terrible experience when I was ready to fly one week before I found out that Airline cancelled my trip., I was looking for alternatives to fly, no successful., They refund my flight but not the Hotel because the Hotel and Orbitz policy… At the end I lost my money because the hotel refused to reimburse it.
My family made a hotel reservation with Orbitz and when we got to the hotel the reservation was not made. To add insult to injury there was no help from Orbitz to be had. We called the help line waited about an hour to talk to a representative told him our problem then put on hold again for another hour and a half before we gave up. With no other hotel availability in the city we had to drive a half hour outside the city to find an available hotel. To to it all off when Orbitz sends you a travel confirmation # (not to be confused with a hotel reservation #) they state "Your reservation is confirmed. No need to call to reconfirm.
I cannot understand why would anyone go to orbitz to make a reservation. A false charge has been put onto my account. And they couldn't even resolve it. I had been put to another phone number that I had to call.
Update; I worked online for Orbitz building SEO. I was asked to give $1011USDT gradually & by the time I realized it was too late. I'm unemployed 50yr old & was trying work. I told Orbitz Customer Care how my recruiter wasn't honest from the start & that she told me to sell my things to continue working for ORBITZ & I wanted my $ back. They asked for my details in a Twitter DM & USED that info to BLOCK me. So now I have no chance of EVER to recover my money. BROKEN, SUFFERING, HURTING.
I booked Sleep inn Gulfport MS via Orbitz. When I wanted cancellation 10 days before living in, they refused. The hotel said if I booked it to front desk, they could cancel the reservation. Not from Orbitz. No help either call to Orbitz costumer service.It's ridiculous. Why does Orbits recommend the kind of hotels to its costumers? Why we need Orbitz.
I had to cancel a flight due to covid and they said all I could get is a credit which I cannot use due to covid still blocking those countries. They refused to help me in any way so I filed a complaint with the BBB. They wrote the bbb saying they would issue me a refund minus a fee. 3 weeks of promised and no refund, then almost a month later they flat out say that they refuse to pay a refund. I contacted the BBB and was told to wait for a reply. 4 weeks later, no reply. My complaint was closed, my email deleted, and orbitz was not held accountable. I am now going to file a complaint through the attorney general's office in my home state. It's not just me, it's 100's of people going through this and they lie, hang up on, and play games to keep the money.
So far I have had a great experience with Orbitz and thrifty in trying to organise a car for me in lax for next week. Very happy as I don't have a credit card but do have a visa debt so they were happy to do a deal with that so looking forward to driving in USA thank you all
They tell you there's free cancellation within 24 hours for your package deal, but they don't tell you that their cancellation process is horrible. I had to call one airline myself and was charged a cancellation fee. THEN, Orbitz will not offer ANY refund for the rental car even though they charge you for it up front and I cancelled within 24 hours (and WEEKS from the trip). This is the worst customer service I've ever seen and I will never use Orbitz again.
Had to cancel a booking for a flight, only for their automated system to tell me I could not get a refund despite purchasing a Flight Cancellation Protection Package. I called multiple times only to be on hold for hours. When I finally got through to someone, I was diverted to another group who informed me that the Cancellation Protection I purchased could not be applied, and that I would not receive a refund for cancelling.
Their Cancellation Protection extension is a scam, buy from the official airline if you can, it's not worth it.
After stupidly booking a reservation on orbitz and paying extra so it could be cancelled, I found that the dates were wrong. So I called orbitz and spent 40min on hold only to be told they couldn't do the cancellation on half the ticket. They other half they claimed to be able to cancel and put me on hold while doing that... for 30min before the line was cut! Now I'm going to call the credit card company. I'll never use orbitz again!
You guys will not get grate reviews from me. Someone I was supposed to travel had covid I couldn't leave they couldn't leave cause we wouldn't get on the damn flight anyways! And you guys didn't wanna refund me my money! I will never let friends family to order from you guys tickets or trips. Declined me 6 times! When I called. Said you would email me to update me no one ever did. 6 times I tried!
We through Orbitz to set up a car rental through Nextcar In Orlando Florida 3255 McCoy Road, Orlando Florida *******. They had no shuttle service from the airport, so one of the neighboring car rental places gave us a ride to Nextcar rental because he felt so bad for us. We go in to get our car rental and they stated that they don't take our car insurance. Our family rents cars all the time and this is the first company who wouldn't take our insurance. Bottom line, we didn't get the car and we had to get a ride back to the airport and rent a car from Enterprise car rental. Horrible customer service and I would never recommend them. Also, when we called Orbitz they did nothing about it.
I booked a car rental on Orbitz, using my phone and, somehow, the wrong dates were entered. I called Orbitz just to change to the correct dates but, since I had booked a non-cancelable, non-refundable rez, they wouldn't accomodate my request. I didn't want my money back, I just wanted to change the dates to the correct ones. No matter how many times I spoke but got the same reply and lame apologies. They stuck to their policy like robots, not thinking, sentient human beings who could have seen the mistake and accomodated me. I had to book through Priceline and eat the money I paid Orbitz. I won't ever use them again.
