They charge $500 more for a travel package and refuse to price match. I called within 24 hours and they wouldn't do anything about it.
Another website has the SAME deal for $500 less... they are rip offs!

Horrible
February 14, 2016

I booked a reservation, subsequently cancelled it for a different ticket, was told I could get a complete refund, booked another reservation for the same destination, sent it to my client, checked on it 2 hours later and someone at Orbitz cancelled the new ticket instead of the first reservation. I am now scrambling for another flight and am now being told that there isn't any refund. I have spent HOURS on this.

Until you have to deal with their customer service agents everything is fine, but once you find out what an ordeal its to deal with them and how they lie to you after you talk to them you realise that this place is only good as long as you never run into a problem.

DO NOT USE

Do not use Orbitz to book any of your travels. I have missed my connecting flight because the flights (yes flights with an 's') I had booked through Orbitz were late and caused me to miss my connection, which was the last one of the evening. Now, because my connection was a round trip and I missed it, they will not refund me ANY of the money or the hotel. Not only did I spend 1.5 hours on the phone with them to try to sort this out, but they did nothing for me, NOTHING. Not to mention my bags were also lost, which I told them. You would think as a place of customer service they would do something. No, I just have to eat $1,500?! Do not book any travels through them, go directly to the airlines. When you work with the airlines, the airlines work with you. I have never experienced this with any airline before.

Terrible experience! Just caught Orbitz in a flat-out lie! We had a trip to New York booked through Orbitz long before Covid hit. Contacted them today to cancel. Even though my booking was non-refundable, they are giving Covid related cancellations a refund if the Hotel approves. They told me they would reach out to the hotel and send me a followup email. I received an email a few hours later that said they had contacted the hotel, and they were not giving refunds for a trip that far in advance yet (3 weeks). I promptly called the hotel myself. The man who answered said they would gladly authorize a full refund if Orbitz contacted them. He said he is the only employee currently working in the hotel and answering phones and that he had not received a call from anyone all day trying to cancel. So even though Orbitz told me they contacted the hotel, I know for a FACT that they did not!

Be prepared for a whole world of hurt if you book with Orbitz. We booked well in advance and got a great flight at a great price. NOT! Our flight has been cancelled and changed 5 times so far. They added a day layover to the flight and did not compensate with a hotel credit. You spend hours trying to rebook with customer service. No apologies. NO REFUND even though they cancel your flights. Now all the other airlines with the good deals are gone so to late to re-book elsewhere. You are given a flight credit for future use to get screwed all over again on your next trip. DON'T DO IT!

Cancelation/Fraud
November 25, 2016

Orbitz advertise full refund for any cancelaltion within 24hours. I called the customer service about 23 hours past my purchased. The operator put me on hold for an hour and then told me your ticket is no longer refundable.

The website is scam. Never use Orbitz again

Stay away!
August 22, 2018

I called Orbitz to cancel a leg of my trip and change a flight. They quoted me $534 to change tickets that I only paid $538 for. They wanted $100 for each leg I was changing and the full cost of a new ticket. I would never ever use Orbitz again,

Orbitz likes to state they give a refund but the fine print is it's up to the hotel and they NEVER give one. Also the room shown in pictures is not the one you get. You end up with a closet-size room with no view. Some resorts use Orbitz to lure travelers into Buy a Timeshare traps. Use Travelocity instead.

Don't use orbitz
September 6, 2013

Don't use orbitz. We made a mistake and now regret it. It is very hard to get money back even if you didn't get the service you were promised. If you need to cancel or change something be prepared to pay orbitz service fees not related to flight or hotel related change fees. It is much better to book directly.

I was just booking a flight from Portland to Manila. Two months out so it is not a flight leaving soon. I selected that cheap flight and had entered my credit card and personal info but when it went to charge my card, it said the flight was no longer available. Really! I think the site posts flights that are not available so they can get your information. Be carefull.

Orbitz failed to inform me of a flight change, resulting in a missed flight. When I called to ask for a refund they left me on hold for 1 hour, then they failed to claim responsibility. They gave me a $100 hotel coupon for my "next Orbitz experience" (...), and sent me on my merry way.
I strongly discourage anyone using Orbitz.

My mom and my niece went to GR Solaris in Cancun. We are members and they were treated so bad. Fernando, David and Dave Martinez in the management office were very unprofessional, and disrespectful to my mom and niece. They had a horrible time at this resort. The food was horrible and customer service none existent. As members we are suppose to get the gala diner, but they were told that they couldn't attend and didn't give them any reason, but another person came to the office and said he didn't reserve for the gala and he was told "it's ok you can still attend". Really! What kind of a place is this resort. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.

First & last time to ever make reservations through this site... charging $516 for an infant in lap travelling internationally. Called them & try to resolve... was on the phone for 3hrs & still unable to even refund us anything :( bbooo!
Major RIP OFF!
They said it's the airlines who sets price up... I called the airlines & they said only Orbitz can make a refund since they billed us... again I called Orbitz back, but still no resolution whatsoever :(

Fraudulent service

They refused to honor a booking, lied about airline policy and had inept and useless customer support...
Basically, Orbitz is a fraud.
They will take money and refuse to deliver.

If you buy collision insurance through Orbitz the local agency will not accept it and you will have to pay again. Also, when you book your car rental through Orbitz the collision insurance is optional but when you pick up your car it is not optional. You must have it or you do not get the car. So what seemed like an okay deal ends up costing more than going with a regular agency like Avis or Budget. Do not be mislead by this Oritz scam!

This site is my last resort when I can't find a good price when booking a hotel. Usually I think their prices are okay. I had overpaid a hotel that I booked on Orbitz. Thinking I got a really good deal which I did not.

I usually purchase my airplane tickets and hotel booking through Orbitz and I find it very cheap I love it. I tried through other websites and I find this one even cheaper. Haven't had a problem yet though.

Horrible

I rented a car through orbitz. On the day of pickup hertz did not have the car nor would they honor the reservation. Called Orbitz costumer service only to be told that they don't have to honor it. It was a waste of time to even make a reservation. And it almost ruined my daughter's sweet 16 trip. I will never use Orbitz again.
