I had an issue with the booking of my flight where the price shown on their website during the transaction and the one that was charged on my card was different (not just a USD to CAD change issue).
The customer support service was prompt to call me and were very understanding following the show of proof (screen capture). Issue got resolved quite promptly. Now I am quite reassured that everything will go smoothly as they will help with any issue along the way.

I booked a multi city trip, the site came back with a number of options I chose one and flights were confirmed by the variuos airlines within hours.
I went to Google flights and selected my round trip. The only option for booking split the departure and return flights into two separate bookings, requiring me to book my departure flight with SmartFares and my return flight directly with Southwest Airlines. I proceeded to book, and promptly received emails with booking and flight information. So far so good. I can't give more of a review because the flights haven't occured yet.
It seemed to work. It's too early in the process to get my opinion.

Very easy to buy, although you have to make sure the sale of luggage is well secured, since I made the purchase of two checked bags, but then I received an email saying they couldn't be added and I returned them with a refund. The luggage refund process is slow.

I was looking for a flight to Hungary and SmartFares gave an excellent rate. I was a little nervous as I had not heard of SmartFares before. The confirmation took a few hours to come through, but I checked with the airline and it was legit. The only downside I could mention was the price quoted was in ZAR (my currency) but unbeknown to me you actually pay in US dollars. So when the cost went through my credit card there was a difference due to the exchange rate. Still a really great deal though!

I was called by a random number, and an Indian man spoke asking for more money for the flight I just booked. Sounded like a scam and he rung again. Sounds like a scam. I suggest you don't use Indians to ring asking for money. I had to ring the office and then got another Indian. Indian's calls are known for scamming people worldwide and I have been the subject of an Indian scam many times. I suggest not using indians as your business does not seem legit and professional and I am worried from time of booking till I get home from my trip in July that I have been scammed.
I had trouble with my bank regarding the transaction, but talking to customer service we quickly found a solution. Everyone were really helpful!
Confirmed reservation from smartfares but given airlines booking reference doesn't check with airlines itself, that made me fearful of missing my flight over some technicality or issue.
So many issues… first I called in advance to ensure there was baggage allowance as was shown on website during purchase, but then when I called to double check I was told I had no such allowance, I will fly tomorrow and am still not sure! Secondly I was shown fare in GBP on purchase, but it appeared as USD in my bank account, having to pay 10£ extra fees (5%)… the call centre ops are not helpful, a dreadful experience!
I found the booking on a South African site. When I wanted to pay it opened up another site which I did not realise was international (USA). I did the payment but the option to pay internationally was not activated on my card so the payment was declined. There was no option to resubmit the payment, only (after much searching) the option to call a number in the USA immediately. I do not have access to make an international call so I sent a 'live' message on the '24 hour access' message portal which no one has responded to as yet. Eventually, taking into account the time difference, I asked my sister to call on my behalf as the ticket is for her. She got through and was told she had to pay extra for the ticket for luggage allowance even though it clearly stated one hand luggage and one suitcase was part of the price. The person she spoke to said they would not charge her extra, yet when the card payment finally went through they had charged an extra R651.18. Quite a frustrating experience. So far everything else has run smoothly, prompt email notifications included.

The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
