Oak Furnitureland will take your money and Do not deliver. Check all reviews and social media sites list and lists of very unhappy customers. I've had my order cancelled twice with no explanation. Customer service don't want to know and will lie to get you off the phone. Absolute joke of a company. Don't believe...Do a little research for yourself! Don't walk Run...Away!

After shopping around a lot, I found the sofa I'd been searching for in OFL. I asked the manager about the composition of the seats and he explained they were the best quality etc. He sat on the sofa whilst talking to me and as he stood up again, the seat cushion bounced back to shape. However, when the sofa was delivered it had a hole in the bottom of it where you're supposed to screw the legs into. It had a cheap plastic covering underneath and wasn't the quality I expected. I rang customer services immediately, who said they'd send a technician to fix it. Not satisfied with that, I requested a replacement. After the phone call, I sat on the sofa to test for comfort, just for a moment, when I stood up the fabric of the seat cushion was crumpled up as if it were an old, well used sofa. Goodness knows what it'd look like after a couple of months. I cancelled the replacement, even then they tried to deliver it to me the following week. Waiting on a refund now. Cheap, shoddy workmanship that should never have passed inspection. Presume it was made overseas.

Dining room table top not level; has not been planed property by the sanding machine. There rep came out and had already made his mind up that it was ok before he came through my door. He said it's living wood and is not supposed to be smooth, needless to say they have done nothing about the fault. Would not buy a bag of chips from this company in the future let's hope they go bust soon

High Expectations sorely disappointed
Ordered 2 pieces online of furniture for bedroom. First thing the boxes arrived soaking wet as if they had been stored in wet/damp conditions. One piece of furniture had a chip on the front. Phoned customer service several times but sorely disappointed on outcome. Felt like I was unimportant and the whole experience stressed me out. I was recommended to try them but I would find it hard to recommend them myself.

We ordered two chest of drawers in the same range. One looked good, the drawers all lined up and opened smoothly. The second piece had draws that didn't line up, did not open smoothly and were really poorly made. Customer services were really good, asking us to send photos of the problem to their website, which worked well. They offered us a refund (£90) if we were willing to keep the defective item, but we were not. However, they agreed to exchange it, which was relatively straight forwards. The replacement looks much more even and the drawers open smoothly. So we got there in the end.

Being a carpenter for 45 years and very fussy about what I purchase, I went to a local store to have a look at what I was buying. Satisfied that although not what I would call solid timber as its just mads up of strips of wood I knw what I was buying and although advertise as had built realise that hand built by machining would be more appropriate. Anyway delivery was very good although I would have though that the driver would have least asked if they needed to put appropriate footwear on to go across my new carpets. On unpacking my first item I discovered glue or similar that hadn't bee cleaned off properly along with scratches and dents. Obviously form then on I spent a lot of time scrutinising the rest of my items, which were the same. I'm trying to cut this short but talking to the "customer services" was appalling and to be told that they would send home serve (which I believe to be part of some kind of insurance people out to see if they can repair instead of replacing. Well Ill leave that part of your thinking up to you as Ill get in trouble for my expletives. There will be more to read shortly, I'm sure of that.

We moved to a new house two years ago and I bought furniture for three bedrooms from the Hove range. I knew that the bodies of the furniture weren't solid oak but I wanted the white finish with the oak tops. No problems at all. Very pleased with all items and they look lovely. With a new-build house everything is white! The oak tops just break up the "whiteness".
Fast forward two years………I ordered items from the Brindle painted range for our lounge. I thought they would fit in nicely with the Brindle bookcase and large desk and chair in the study (bought two years ago). I wanted to move the bookcase into our lounge so removed all the books. To my horror I found that all the painted areas exposed to light had faded terribly. The areas covered by books had not. I then checked the desk and the insides of doors, drawers and the side that gets no light were the original colour. The rest has faded. Ok, hands up, I hadn't really noticed but once I did I was appalled. The furniture I planned to replace is 32 years old and is still lovely. I just wanted something more modern.
To cut a long story short, I've had a battle with Customer Services. When I finally(2 hours plus in total) got through I was told the items were out of the 1 year manufacturers warranty and to claim on the insurance I took out., which I did.
They rejected the claim. They don't cover fading. The furniture is in a North facing room which gets little sun, if any, just natural daylight. Am I supposed to keep my curtains closed?! I didn't let this drop. It's been a bit of a battle but we "escalated " the claim and someone is coming to look at the furniture tomorrow. Watch this space!
I cancelled my order for the new Brindle furniture and got a refund within 3 days which was a pleasant surprise. I have since ordered from another company.
In short, beware the ranges with the coloured painted finishes…. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be replacing expensive items after two years,

Verified purchase

Ordered a side table which arrived with a minor fault (inset on top wasn't centred correctly). I used Oak Furnitureland's online reporting tool to complain but a week later I haven't had an acknowledgement despite their website saying they will respond within 2 days. Have tried to phone customer services several times but just get automated services and after holding for up to 40 minutes at a time, I just give up. No doubt they will blame this on Covid but I'm getting sick of that excuse for poor customer service - it's too easy and companies should have been able to sort out the IT by now to allow all customer service staff work from home. I think it's just an excuse for poor customer service to start with. Interestingly, Oak Furnitureland was able to answer their sales line within 2 or 3 minutes. I acutally wasn't too annoyed about the fault that caused me to complain in the first place (but did want it dealt with) but the poor customer service means that I am very unlikely to ever use Oak Furnitureland again.

Update 8/02/21 - now have a replacement table which I am happy with but had a fight to get it replaced.

I bought a bedroom set; cupboard and draws. It looks great and is nice and heavy but the draws are only 3/4 the depth of the unit. So for each draw I lose around 4-5" in depth. Just so they can save a little money in wood. I bought online. Had I bought in the shop I'd have noticed and would not have bought it. Learn fro my mistake and go elsewhere.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t. I’d go elsewhere as the draws are tiny

Tried to ring the delivery department to explain that both me and my partner work in a school and are unable to take a day off so could we leave a note to say that the ONLY time sot we cannot be home for is 7-10. This was apparently impossible and I was told I had to confirm the delivery date before I would receive a time slot, even though I would be charged £40 if I couldn't be there for the allocated slot. I suggested paying for the customised delivery, however, they do not deliver on weekends which left me in the same position. The only thing I could do was cancel my order to which the woman said straight away I will cancel it - making my £600 purchase seem absolute worthless. I couldn't cancel the order as it was in my partner's name and so accepted the delivery date - I received the 7-10 time slot. Now I will be charged £40 and still have no furniture. Ridiculous system that is not accommodating for people who work at all! I can do any time between 10am-7pm just not those first three hours. Absolutely outraged that my discount is going to be ruined by charges out of my control... I would not recommend the company to anyone (unless you don't work)!

I made 2 purchases totalling nearly £1500.
The first purchase included a chest of drawers costing £348. After a while I noticed the drawer handles were not level. I rang them but got no joy and ended up altering the handles myself.
My second purchase included a small table costing £99. 98. 2 weeks ago I noticed that the top of the table had split across the full length, the insurance company did a repair that was just acceptable but after only 5 days the split is back. I contacted Oak Furniture Land and they just don't want to know.

Be very wary before buying off them as their aftersales service is RUBBISH!

We were told by the salesman that they will put the furniture anywhere you want them to. They came in and just went to plonk it in the passage and leave I said to them could you put it in the bedroom please they went it's not our place to. They could see my husband wasn't a fit healthy young man. He's in his late 70s and has Parkinson's and Dementia I explained this and the taller man went were take it to what room you want and take it out the packaging which they said that don't normally do.We were told by the salesman they do. Anyway we gave them a heavy tip to then come out to our front garden just to see all the packaging covering nearly the whole front garden we asked if they could take the rubbish as we had no way of removing it ourselves straight away it was no it's not down to us so it would be very helpful if Oakland staff were told to let all there customers know that they don't put furniture where you want or remove packaging or take packaging or at least offer a choice to the customer to have the option to pay towards taking away the rubbish.

I don't often leave reviews but felt I had to on this occasion just to highlight the extremely poor work quality of the furniture we ordered which has so far been replaced 3 times (still unresolved) and the poor customer service received.

To keep this brief we ordered over £2000 worth of units 7 pieces in total St Ives range, several needed replacing on arrival due to very poor quality these are heavy large units - the door knobs had been moved position re drilled and then filled poorly sunk holes, large damage / splits in the cabinets, paint drops over the shelves, bowed doors, bowed shelves, missing paint patches to name a few. Photo's were sent to customer service and replaced units were arranged with a 3 week wait time (the other units had to be repaired via their homeserve company). These replacement units arrived damaged again major splits on the wood panels and same poor finishes.

3rd replacement was promised to be quality checked prior to delivery, I would have thought after the issues we received the units would have been quality checked prior to replacement, unfortunately the quality checked units were also faulty.

We are expecting the 4th delivery Friday which is a white gloved service, we are just very disappointed and did not expect such a poor experience with Oak Furnitureland, the inconvenience of waiting in each time for deliveries, the amount of packaging which you are expected to remove and dispose of yourself, 3 trips to the skip so far and units not worth filling up and using as you know it will all need emptying to be replaced again, and all the time on the phone, email sending photo's etc.

Were recently bought a number of items. After a couple of weeks one of the sofa cushions was clearly faulty. Attempted to contact customer services four times by phone and was held on the phone for up to 20 minutes before they cut off the call. Contacted the store who said they could do nothing. Emailed customer services and didn't get a reply. Be aware that if the goods are faulty you cannot expect any help from customer services.

I have looked at the reviews after purchasing items and have found similar minded people on this site who are not happy. On another review sites all seems to be perfect. Strange as I am now having to leave a negative review which I have never felt the need to do before.
We visited the Huddersfield showroom and chose 3 pieces of furniture. The shopping experience was excellent. The furniture arrived and 2 of the 3 pieces were damaged to our disappointment. The sideboard was really damaged with cracks and scratches visible on opening the top of the packaging. It was so damaged we left it in the box. A small end table had an 8 inch scratch across the top. The large tv stand was fine. It took me over 45 minutes to get through to customer services. It was arranged to replace the 2 damaged pieces. The delivery date came and the delivery men swapped the furniture and left. This time the end table was fine but I was disheartened to see there was a 3 and half inch scratch on the sideboard front. More or less in same area the previous piece had been extensively damaged, I could not get through to customer services so I sent an email to customer services. The previous experience reporting the furniture damage had involved photographs being uploaded to customer services. I needed help with this again to show the damage. I did not get an email reply so I rang again to report the damage. I was really fed up with the whole experience and did not want to go through another delivery. The item was not in expected good condition and I felt my previous experience with damaged furniture would extend some sympathy for my position. I rang customer services and it took over 50 mins to get through. My son uploaded the photo of the damaged piece. I was offered a technician to come and polish out the scratch. I said I wanted to return it and asked for a refund. This was not available and the customer service chap said; it was only a little scratch;. I was loosing my patience now at the lack of respect for the inconvenience I had gone through. I asked for a discount for goods that would be reduced if they were on sale damaged. I was offered 50 pound. I said that was not enough and asked for at least 75 pound. I was offered 65 pound. I felt I was having a conversation I really didnt want. In effect we were arguing over 10 pound when I had spent a heck of a lot of money. I wanted undamaged goods and was feeling I was unreasonable complaining. The refund was an insult. I was glad to end the conversation. I would not reccomend Oak FurnitureLand to anyone.
