I ordered a vacuum for pickup at a sale price of $184. Upon picking it up the pickup text showed I was charged $301! I called into the store and they told me to call their customer service number and they would give me a credit. After sitting in the parking lot on a cold night on hold and talking to someone for 25 minutes, I was told they would not credit me because the price had gone up since I ordered it. I have ordered from many placed for shipping and pickup and never had this happen. I have always paid the price of the day I ordered. This is absolutely ridiculous. I live an hour away from Meijer which is why I didn't pick it up the same day but I had no idea they were going to do this to me. I lugged the thing into the store for return and the clerk actually shorted me $. 77 because that's what the computer showed her. I showed her the confirmation on my phone of what they charged me and the manager told her to give me the $. 77. Normally, I would have just walked away but first they tried to rip me off with the price and again with the return. I will NEVER shop at Meijer in store in online again.
Simply put the Mejer in Algonquin is a $#*! store, filthy restrooms, every handicapped cart they have is absolute junk batteries never charged and damaged,I think I will just shop at.Wallmart
They sent us a coupon in the mail with our name on it for $15 your first online purchase and $15 off for the next two visits. Tried to use the promo code and it said invalid code. I call the help line and I was told it was a IT problem and it was being fixed and they gave me a $15 off promo code. I placed a order today and once again invalid code. I called the help line and I was told the coupon was for only new customer. I spoke to a supervisor and she hung up on me. No where on the coupon does it say for new customers only and why did it send it to me?.
I went to this store to mail a box with a couple of Afghans in it to our daughter. The employee told me the box was to heavy to mail (7 pounds), would not fit into the mail truck, the computer was not working (I suggestive he turned it on) and then he took all the customers behind me while I waited. He then left the area. When he came back he started to print postage but decided to wait on another customer. He finally printed the postage and I left after waiting 40 minutes or so. I was going to go shopping but I just bought was needed for tonight. I went to Wal Mart the next day and had a much better experience.
We used to be loyal Meijer customer but many experiences like this have driven us to Wal Mart.

Stay away from this place. The Danville Illinois store itself is decent, but the cashiers are sooo rude. If you have to shop here do it in the morning when the store helpers are more quality.
I really enjoy coming to Myers yes although prices a higher than Wal-Mart and I do understand we all have BE under some presure due to covid19 but today at the deli a older women was very bitty toward me as she was serving me I thought it was me so I brush it off but when she serv me my item she kinda drop it on the counter. I realize it wasn't me so if someone could bring this to the attention of her manager and yes I am a woman of color those are the Vibes I got from her other than that I love Meijer I might try harder to avoid her the next time I'm at the deli
Did the online pick up. Went to Meijer on June 19th purchased groceries online $118.00. June 20th had a charge from Meijer for $116.93. Never went to the store on the 20th. Meijer was contacted by my wife on June 21st. Never contacted us back. I contacted them on June 27th. Over 1 hour on the phone with them and they still refuse to return our money. Seven Hills Police Department has a report on this. Meijer manager knows about this from the police officer. Had to contact our Discover Card and report fraud charge. Not one time did Meijer reach out to us and try to make this right. I was hung up on twice by two Meijer employees with customer service with corporate. Never will we shop there again! Giant Eagle and Acme are very close. First time in my life have I been treated this way by a business. If I could leave a zero rating I would.
I thought I would give and update. Today was the day Discover told me to call back. Meijer never addressed the issue with Discover. Meijer would not let me talk to anyone about what's going on with my dispute! Meijer does not care about customers and when it's their mistake or an employee fraud. Multiple times I was promised from Meijer I would receive an update. Now, Discover says this dispute can take up to 60 days. At this point, Meijer has stolen $116.93 from our family. Not once have they tried to make this right. 3 hours invested in trying to get this resolved! #donotshopmeijer
I have worked all of my life from the age of 16 up until age 52 when I became ill and was put on Social Security Disability. With the help of many doctors I am doing better, I am still disabled, but I am able to work part-time at a job that is way below what I was doing before I became disabled. You hear about how many jobs are out there and how employers cannot get people to apply fir their jobs? That is a lie, I am more than and over qualified to any number of the mindless positions that I have applied for and not one of the stores I sent my application/resume to even interviewed me. I thought people with disabilities were given consideration for these types of jobs. Just because I use to be in the Administrative field.or in management does not mean I am now over qualified for ANY position! People get sick, or in accident that change their lives and these small companies like Meijer, Sam's Club, Kroger, Kohls, need to think about why people like me might be applying for a way lower paying position and why a person may have been out of work for several years before just dismissing their application for a mineal position.
Just saw the online experience after listening to my wife complain. Here's the low points:
1 - No favorites or purchase history, so every shopping visit starts from scratch. Typical shoppers buy the same items. This app needs a "reorder" function.
2 - Pickup times- are shown at the end of the process. If no convenient time is available then the entire shipping effort is wasted. Put pickup time upfront.
3 - Quantity selector - appears to be a server side function with slow refresh and incremental arrows. A painfully slow experience, especially when clicking 10 times for a 10 for 10 special. Make the Qty function a drop down or browser based function for user speed.
4 - Links in Ads - the Ads are images without links to the item. The user must review the Ad and then search for the item. Add links to the Ad to navigate directly to the item.
5 Item Display - seems to be limited to a large icon, grid format. Provide an option using a list, with checkboxes, based on favoritesor purchase history.
6 - Credit Card - seems to only store one card that can't be edited or deleted. Need multiple cards or option to update card (eg expiration).
7 Related Items - add a link to each favorite or purchase item history to show alternate / related items or suggestions.
Favorite Edit - allow users to edit their purchase history / favorites to create groups or shopping lists to speed selection on reordered items.
We were really surprised at how poor the app functions. Pickup is great. Ordering stinks.
Meijer is a very good stores and shop it thanks for being a Great store great vegetables you are always on time
Meijer is a great store. Always love shopping here. Pharmacy is great too, and last time I used it, free antibiotics.
I worked for Meijer for almost 3 years in the deli I absolutely loved the customers I loved the employees I worked with. I along with seven other people walked out of the job within 2 weeks when the new general manager falsely accused of my team leader of doing something she did not do she was also training me for team leadership and one of the managers played favorites and asked another employee if he wanted that position that I was being trained for she told me she was too busy trying to get people in to work she basically lied to me. Ever since I left I've had so many employees tell me how much they hate working there and that is sad. The only reason why a lot of the older employees are there are to finish out for retirement Meijer does not care about their employees any longer and that is sad I came back and I gave them a very good offer to come back and be team leader I gave them an offer of salary one they could not pass up guess what they passed it up they knew I was good at my job they just did not want me back they lost a lot of good people in their stores a lot of customers in their stores I go in there now the deli does not have half the business that used to. I was willing to help bring that business back. I used to have customers come in and tell me if it wasn't for the deli they would go shop somewhere else half the time they don't even have a hot case they used to have pizza which they no longer do. All because they cannot keep employees and I loved working there it is sad you can't fix stupid. Price wise they're getting expensive I hate some of the unnamed stores but I'm starting to go to them instead of Meijer because they are cheaper. I just wish one thing they would change their ways it's not the meier that it used to be. There's a saying management can destroy a business.
I have had a few experiences with them while traveling. I had good customer service and will shop them again when I am in their area.
If your bill is due on the 4th and you pay on the 5th your payment goes to late fees look at your statement.
I placed an online pickup order on Saturday for pickup on Sunday at the intersection of 12 Mile Rd and Mound Rd in Warren Michigan. Click checkout on Saturday so my order would have my discounts applied for that day. Picked up the order and was not notified until I got home via text that the full price was applied to my credit card with out discounts. Called store, spent 25 minutes between hold and talking to a customer care rep in online orders only to be told that if I wanted those discounts I should have picked it up the day before. Asked to talk to manager, was placed on hold only to have the same person get on the phone and tell me that the manager said that that's their policy. I asked the woman for her name and employee number as well as her manager that wasn't even will ing to talk to me, and she refused. Told her I needed that info because I was calling corporate in which she responded "I'm disconnecting this call" and hung up. I called back, asked for supervisor and was transferred to a woman who hung up on me when I told her I had just called. So I googled corporate, called them, they said the store handled it poorly and I was going to receive my discounts of $45. After 40 minutes between talking and hold, I was then notified that the rep I spoke with was not given authorization to give me my discounts even though the order was placed the day the sales were going on. I was only offered a $15 mperk to my account. I told her that I can get it all cheaper at full price somewhere else and that I will be returning the $160 order to the store and never shopping with meijer again. I have a special needs toddler and don't have the flexibility to jump and go shopping or do pick ups the same day. This is bad business. I have made a complaint wit the Better Business Bureau. Disappointed is an understatement. Poor customer service in this store. Will never shop at any meijer again, and will be posting this experience on every social media and review site I can find.
This was my 2nd & last bad pickup order experience with Meijer. We will never shop at Meijer again, period. The last attempt, on 2/8/23, was a $298 order at the Canton, Michigan location and was also a mess because they canceled my order right as I pulled in to pick it up; the young lady at the pickup said there was nothing she could do because now my order had just vanished. Okay, but you sent me replacements to approve? Never resolved, no apology, no let me see what we can do, nothing.
I have a back injury that hinders walking, so I placed another online order on 5/3/23 to be picked up at 6 pm 5/4/23 at the Livonia Michigan location. I get a text at 10 am saying it's ready for pickup. Unfortunately, I was working and unable to go that early, which was why I scheduled a 6 pm pickup. At 5 pm, my husband left to pick up our order only to call me saying that the payment was declined. I checked my account, and the charge went through. The store director told my husband there was nothing they could do because that's not what was showing on their end. He leaves the store and calls me furious, without any of the groceries or a refund of the $263 we spent. They insisted the payment did not go through even when he tried to show them that it had. So I called customer service frantic and spoke with Felicia at first, who was terrific; Felicia confirmed the payment went through and tried to assist to the best of her ability. She then transferred me to another wonderful customer service rep named Pam who was also terrific! She tried to call the store, but just like when I called, they did not answer; she confirmed that the payment did go through, we had been charged, and that they had MARKED THE ORDER AS COMPLETED meaning the charge would not have been reversed. The store made absolutely no effort to correct the issues on either occasion. They just acted like it was not their problem. That was my child's breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the week. We are not wealthy and do not have that kind of money to throw away. I wouldn't recommend Meijer to anyone ever for any reason. They try to rip people off!
I work at Meijer 54 at the Gas station. Today, 10/16/2022 at about 7:20 pm. I had a customer that came to buy lottery tickets. Lottery tickets can not be purchased with credit card. This customer tried three times to pay with his credit card and kept telling me that the pin screen was not coming up for him to punch in hus numbers so he can use his card as debit. This is because his card was credit only. This customer became very loud and started calling me an idiot and saying I have problems and I need training and so on. I told the customer that he has to be respectfull, but he kept on calling me a child and an idiot. Another employee just came back from his lunch and witnessed this incident. I called the manager's extension number and asked for help. After about 15 or 20 minutes, a manager, who I believed his name was Bill with a name badge that again I believe said LL Food showed up walking to the gas station to tell me I have no right to tell the customer to be respectfull and the customer is always right. He made me fell like i am an animal. He stood in front me next to the customer to make sure the customer is well taken care of.
Well Mr. Manager, I liked Meijer because Meijer always said employees are like family, but today you totally contradicted that concept. I am not an animal. In fact I am a Doctorr in Criminal psychology who has been a director, and not a manager, for more than 30 years. I work for Meijer part time because since 1984 I have been buying everything from Meijer. This includes shoes, pants, food, and so on. I had a lot of respect for Meijer and wanted To be part of this family.
Mr. Manager, shame on you.
IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE WHO HATES OR IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH MEIJER'S SHODDY 'SELF-CHECKOUT' SYSTEM? (especially the Ft. Gratiot MI location) I've been having trouble with both the lousy 'old' and the recent 'new and improved (?)' self-checkout systems for about 4 years now. The old – constantly red and green lights stopping and then clearing the way to continue, the lights sometimes flash red then green so often they should use them for blinking Christmas lights. Lots of 'wait for attendant' notices (key word here is WAIT), machines stopping your order with a red light somehow thinking it's a separate order (not exactly Artificial Intelligence), see the line you're in get the dreaded red light and jump to another? That lane often will get the red light too. Other glitches also. On to the 'new and improved' system. The machines will often spit back or reject perfectly new and fine bills from the on-site ATM or my bank. Over and over. Often the few and sometimes overwhelmed human attendants can't get to you, will walk right by you and say "I'll be back to help you in a minute" and then disappear to the back of the store to put items back. Other attendants will come over and 'push the wrong button' to solve your problem and cause more delays. I'm missed a dozen or so buses at least by just a minute or half a minute over the last 4 years. I end up spending 1-1/2 hours for 30 minutes of shopping and 10-20 minutes of of checking out. "Try allowing for more time" you say? I allowed an extra 10 minutes last night and STILL missed another bus. Again. I complain half the time, but get lame apologies, lip-service about speaking to the employees and improving things, etc. but the same problems keep happening, even with their shiny new and improved system. THEY DON'T OR CAN'T FIX THINGS. Or maybe don't really care. I know a couple of people who also don't like the Meier's checkout experience. Even some of their employees don't like it! I've cut back my Ft. Gratiot Meijer's shopping by 2/3's. Maybe I need to skip them even more. Feel free to post your own horror stories.
I don't think I've ever left a review (good or bad) for a grocery store... But my visit today ABSOLUTELY warranted one!
After a very long day at work I grabbed a random credit card off the counter and rushed off to Meijer with my wife and two young kids for a quick grocery run. Needless to say, after ringing up my $200+ cart full of family food & diapers, my credit card cleared for all but $9 & change. OOPS! I was sure I had enough money on there but for whatever reason there was $10 remaining and the card was maxed out.
Utterly embarrassed, I attempted to return an item, from my cart... But the manager said they would need to void the payment. I STOPPED THEM CONCERNED, because if my cards is maxed out and the funds are held, then my entire $200 bill would now be declined for a second go around. Stupid me for not bringing the right form of payment or a backup... But I was in an extreme pickle!
After a few seconds of awkward silence and not knowing what to do, the young lady working behind the cash register named "Schynitha" quietly said excuse me and walked around the counter and proceeded to use her personal credit card for the remaining $10 ballance!
Jaw dropping, I humbly thanked her and said I would make a quick return at customer service and give her the $10 back. She responded, "it's ok, that's not necessary, don't worry about it".
Wow what an amazing human being! I have no idea where Meijer found Schynitha, but she is an ABSOLUTE asset that deserves to be recognized and highly praised for her selflessness, phenomenal customer service & kind character!
I did return an item and had them refund her money, but I wish I could do more for her!
Thank you Schynitha! You made my week!
Merry Christmas & God Bless You!
Sincerely,
Robert Klemm & Family.
TRIED TO BUY AN E GIFT CARD. SNAFU WITH EMAIL ADDRESS, NO CONCERN TO FIX THE PROBLEM! FARMED OUT TO SOME BLACKHAWK WITH EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Answer: Even though Meijer was more expensive, I started shopping there because my regular grocery store did not keep their shelves stocked. As long as I have to visit another store, I am simply going to start out at that other store. This has been the case lately, so you have lost a customer. Make that two customers, because the man behind us was upset too. We ran into him later at another grocery store. Goodbye.
Answer: The Meijer at 3700 Harvey in Muskegon, Michigan is the same way. They sent us coupons for a few out-of-stock items.
Meijer has a rating of 1.5 stars from 125 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Meijer most frequently mention customer service, credit card and sale price. Meijer ranks 8th among Pharmacy sites.
