I don't think I've ever left a review (good or bad) for a grocery store... But my visit today ABSOLUTELY warranted one!
After a very long day at work I grabbed a random credit card off the counter and rushed off to Meijer with my wife and two young kids for a quick grocery run. Needless to say, after ringing up my $200+ cart full of family food & diapers, my credit card cleared for all but $9 & change. OOPS! I was sure I had enough money on there but for whatever reason there was $10 remaining and the card was maxed out.
Utterly embarrassed, I attempted to return an item, from my cart... But the manager said they would need to void the payment. I STOPPED THEM CONCERNED, because if my cards is maxed out and the funds are held, then my entire $200 bill would now be declined for a second go around. Stupid me for not bringing the right form of payment or a backup... But I was in an extreme pickle!
After a few seconds of awkward silence and not knowing what to do, the young lady working behind the cash register named "Schynitha" quietly said excuse me and walked around the counter and proceeded to use her personal credit card for the remaining $10 ballance!
Jaw dropping, I humbly thanked her and said I would make a quick return at customer service and give her the $10 back. She responded, "it's ok, that's not necessary, don't worry about it".
Wow what an amazing human being! I have no idea where Meijer found Schynitha, but she is an ABSOLUTE asset that deserves to be recognized and highly praised for her selflessness, phenomenal customer service & kind character!
I did return an item and had them refund her money, but I wish I could do more for her!
Thank you Schynitha! You made my week!
Merry Christmas & God Bless You!
Sincerely,
Robert Klemm & Family.
