Purchased a pair in May 2015 for my daughter, the battery melted into the shoe! They sent a replacement pair. Bought a pair for my son this past September, 2016 the usb where they charge melted today (November 1). Called company showed them pics of the melted device, all they could say was they have a 30 day warranty on defected products. Besides that the bulbs are 1/2 out on each shoe, absolute JUNK. They dont stand behind their product. They know their product sucks thats why they have the 30 day warranty!
This is company is a fraud! Ripping people off, giving you want shoe sizes, product doesn't work correctly. Charges you a fee to return
All my son wanted to start 5th grade with was LED shoes. I didn't know much about them but I saw "Hoverkicks" which I thought was with Hoverboard, a name brand and that they were based out of New Jersey and not China. Awesome plus they were on sale with free remote and free shipping. SOLD! Our son was so happy. Showing them off at school, everyone loved them. On the 3rd day the left shoe stopped working it wouldn't charge, n it would short n turn off n on going haywire. I contacted the company, sent in my request form with about 20 pictures. They said 2 days you'll hear from us. So 2 WEEKD later after not hearing from them I sent another email stating my displeasure, the next day they tell me they sent me a email and I could exchange for new pair. So I paid the 12$ insured tracking number package with the remote and charge only to get another pair that worked for 1 day and went haywire and won't charge, of course it's the left shoe AGAIN! PLUS THE NEW REMOTE ISNT WORKING EITHER! I won't bother contacting the company again. I can't sit there and pay 12$ shipping that I should NEVER of had to pay in the first place, just so they can send me another worthless bogus piece of $#*! product that'll just go haywire n blitz again and again and again. I wish I could sue for my money and time wasted and the heartache and embarrassment our son has had to go through. HOVERKICKS... YOU SUCK IN THE WORST WAY. PATHETIC WASTE OF ENERGY
Do not ever order from this company. These light up shoes are sized too small. The warranty period is only 30 days, no exception. The wire assembly digs into kids foot, they will not wear them. Do not think you can replace them, as they will charge you big time re-stocking fee.

I purchased 2 pairs of hoverkicks one super nova blue one super nova black. Sheldon was the representative that took care of me. He was awesome, we had a problem one week after my grandkids got their shoes but Sheldon got right on it. Sent out now batteries that go in the heel and even 2 new remotes. I found out on my own that you can't let these shoes sit or that battery in each heel will die. But I was told they would replace it for free anytime it does. And it only died once and the shoes are perfect! I think Sheldon did a great job. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And i have seen some really bad reviews on here., but I would write a bad one to if I had one. If you want to really see a bad shoe company check out Shiftwear!
Some of the LED lights on my daughter's pair of Hoverkicks quit working. I ordered them on August 6 2016. They arrived on August 11th. I wouldn't let her wear them until school started on August 30th. She wore them a half dozen times and lights quit working. Just after the 30 days of the delivery date expired. I too spoke with customer service and Steve to no avail. There is not a mark on the shoes and they said there is nothing they are willing to do. My advice. Don't spend the money. They look cool, but the quality is poor.
In June 2016, I purchased my first pair of Hover Kicks Super Nova Black, size 11, shoes for my husband for Fathers Day, order number *******. Since then, I have purchased another pair for him for his birthday, July 10,2016. He loves these shoes. He works at a school for at risk kids, ages 18 to 21, where he teaches employability skills, so my husband is a walking advertisement for your company, in a setting that could really benefit Hover Kicks. Though he loves these shoes, he rarely wears them because he can only wear them on dress down days on his job. Since June he has worn these shoes only 3 times.
Now the front right shoe does not light up. Today, I called the Hover Kicks customer service line and after holding to speak to a representative for 20 minutes, I finally got through. I called for two reasons... To ask for a remedy for that pair of shoes and to order a new pair for our 6 year old grandson for his December birthday.
I spoke to a customer service representative, named Sheldon who told me there is no remedy, since the shoes are only warranted for 30 days after purchase. He stated that there is very intricate wiring in these shoes and once that is broken, there is no remedy. I politely and promptly asked for his supervisor. Steve came on to announce that he was the lead customer service supervisor and there was no remedy. The warranty is over.
The only solution offered is to purchase a THIRD pair, with a discount. That surely sounds like throwing good money out for bad! I asked Steve for his supervisors name, he told me there is none. He stated he is the only one to speak to next to the CEO. I asked for the CEOs name and number. Steve refused. I expressed my disappointment in his lack of interest in offering good customer service to keep a good customer one who had already purchased two pair of shoes, with interest of purchasing a third pair. He nonchalantly stated that he would not offer any other remedy.
This seems very unreasonable to me. I paid $99 for a pair of shoes, promising LED lights, which have failed after 3 uses. Unreasonable! I will use all of my spare time. (I am retired so I have a lot), to campaign AGAINST this company, through Facebook, through Rip Off Report and another means that I can find.
Your long term success will not be built on the back of poor quality, poor workmanship and poor customer service. Failure will be the result, sooner than later.
I promise you to actively participate in the demise of your company by advertising that you are cheating people out of their hard earned money.
I purchased Hoverkicks in late June 2016. In mid-September 2016, after only 5 wears, the front lights on my left shoe just died. I contacted Hoverkicks and they said the shoes were outside of the 30 day warranty period. Completely outrageous considering I had only worn them a few times. This indicates to me that they could die on anyone at anytime.
I ordered a pair of hoverkicks for my sons first day of school. They were supposed to arrive in 4 days. The night of the 4th day I called to find out where they were and was told they were back ordered and it would be a week or two, and I could cancel if I wanted. The next day I confirmed they were on back order and cancel my order. The rep assured me my order was cancelled, so I bought my son another pair of shoes. Later the same day I was informed the shoes had shipped that morning and would arrive in 4 business days. They arrived the next business day. I had to pay nearly $9.00 to return them (after going through a lengthy return authorization process) and send the tracking info to Hoverkicks. After verifying the shoes had been received, I wrote requesting my refund be applied immediately. Two days later I received another pair of Hoverkicks. I called customer service and demanded they arrange for pick up and pay postage for return. They agreed to pay postage, but refused to arrange UPS pick up or refund my money until they receive the second pair of shoes back. They also refused to give me the name of the supervisor, CEO, or anyone else in management of the company.
Keep in mind, this is even before we try the shoes! If the shoes are as bad as the reviews are, I have no idea why this company is still in business. I'm short $9.00 (plus the cost of the shoes right now) because they are just a bad company!
Bought these for my 6 year old for school... after one wear, the right shoe stopped lighting up. Literally one day's wear. And they are trying to make me pay to ship them back plus an additional 15% restock fee... yeah right. Shoddy products... you should be ashamed of disappointing little kids this way!
Do not ever waste your money buying this piece of garbage. The company's customer service is even worse than this shoes. Save yourself the trouble and headache and buy from a different brand. There are many out there.
When you make youroom order, The site will state that it takes 2 days to deliver to days to process total lies. I have yet to receive my order. Every time I speak with a representative they change the date. The company is really located in China on the site it states that it is located in New York. I would have never ordered these shoes if I would have known the truth about the company's location and the delivery date. Lies lies lies lies. My daughter starts school Sept 6 and will not have her shoes. You disappointed my child and I'm disgusted with the lies that this company tells. Son received shoes as a gift for start of new school year. Worn for a total of 16 days off and on. Lights not working and the threading is coming out of the Velcro. Contacted customer service and was told sorry there's a 30 day warranty and nothing they can do.
Will never order anything else from this company!
Poorly made product and lack of customer service.
Warranty needs to be more than 30 days ( from date of purchase) and customer service needs customer service training. Paid $80 for these cheap made shoes.
I purchased these shoes online. We received these $80.00 shoes yesterday. We tried to use the remote control which worked (after several tries) for only one of the shoes (the left one). It does not work at all for the right shoe. The right shoe lights up and functions if changed with the shoe button, only it is not able to be controlled using the remote. My 8 yr old was disappointed. I'm attempting to exchange. I don't think we should be responsible for defective merchandise and pay a 15% restocking fee for poor quality. The product didn't work when I received it. I'll post again when I hear back from customer service at Hoverkicks with an update.
8/29/2016: After numerous e-mails with customer service and no progress, I picked up the phone and talked to a young man who was less than tactful or pleasant. He also told me my cell phone was "horrible". I'm assuming he meant our connection. I was ASSURED that the battery in the right shoe is the problem, even though this didn't make much sense. I had to look inside the shoe and determine if it was a 2 or 3 prong battery. They immediately shipped a new battery for the shoe and provided an incorrect tracking number. I received a new tracking number within an hour or so. Currently awaiting arrival of the new battery. Will provide another update soon. My son loves the shoes.
8/31/2016: The remote control stopped working all together after being used a few times. We are still waiting for the replacement battery for the right shoe, but now we have a new problem. The remote doesn't work at all. Disappointed in the quality of this product for the price. All of my posts are within a few days of one another.
We bought the low top shoes, which occasionally turns on accidentally when my son's ankle/foot rubs the power button inside the shoe. Probably not the best choice for school unless you remove the batteries from inside of each shoe. My son still loves the shoes, but I don'the feel I got ehat I paid for regarding quality.
9/13/2016: I went to the battery store yesterday, which I should not have had to do, to see if the remote control just needed a new battery (even though the shoes are practically brand new). Even with a brand new battery, the remote control does not work. The material inside of the shoe is also ripping already and the shoes have only been worn a few times since our purchase.
We got the first pair in, and 30 minutes after my son wore them, 2 of the lights went out on each shoe. We contacted HK and they said that shoe was being discontinued (turns out that's not true because it's still available to order), and that they would replace it with a different pair.
We exchanged them for a different type, and they worked for about a week and then one of the shoes stopped working completely. The customer service team refunded me for my money, but didn't cover the $12 shipping I paid to send them back, nor did they refund me on the tax. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, because they are very cheaply made and come to your door from China. HK is just the middle man.
Thes shoes are not worth the money as they quit working within a week. My daughter was so excited to get them and was so very disappointed when the stopped working.
Purchased for my daughter. 1st pair 1 sneakers did not light up! They replaced that pair after 3 weeks of fighting. Next pair charger did not work. VERY CHEAPLY MADE! Then when we got them charged 1/2 the lights didn't work on 1 sneaker & about 4 lights did not work on the other. THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THEM OR REFUND! They said it's wear & tear on the shoe... the one's she wore 4-5 times! DO NOT BUY!

Bought a pair in May they sent the wrong size and made me pay to ship them back. After getting the correct size they didn't fit and was told the shoes run small and I needed to get a size bigger than what I actually wore. So I sent these back a second time and now that I received the third pair the soles are yellow and discolored. Each time I been on the phone with them your on hold about 30 min before someone picks up and they are very rude. Three months later I finally got the shoes and after a week's use the lights don't work. Please don't waist your time or money on these it's not worth it!
Answer: Sad to say, I've had the same problem. I've had my shoes for a week now and at the end of the week most of the colors wont appear when I press the button inside the shoe. But when it does work, it only flashes one color, then dies out. I think the problem is that the lights shorted out. Meaning the shoes are cheap and HoverKicks is a scam.
Answer: Don't believe that they ship in 2 days. I got my shoes in 4 weeks and the remote doesn't even work AND 1 week from having them and none of the lights work.
Answer: They run a little small so order a size up.
