I was so excited to order these shoes after my daughter saw some LED shoes on TV. Let me give you a timeline:
11/28 (cyber Monday) placed order & debit card was charged (expecting 2 days of processing & 2 day shipping, plenty of wiggle room for her bday on 12/16)
12/1-12/22 made numerous attempts to contact the company about not recieving the shoes, never talked to a human (didn't receive the shoes in time for her bday)
12/22 paid $8 extra during shipment for "guaranteed delivery" so she would at least get them by Christmas
12/23 shipment arrived. One shoe didn't seem to be charging (indicator light on the left shoe didn't light up like the right shoe), but the person responding to fb messages said i was mistaken, and the shoes should be fine.
12/25 daughter opens shoes on Christmas morning & LOVES them
12/26 shoes battery runs down and won't charge (big surprise)
12/26-1/10 multiple attempts to figure out how to make a return
1/10 finally get a return label. Was told it would take 2 days for processing and 2 days for shipping (sound familiar?) I was also told that there should be no problems with shipping bc the Christmas rush is over.
1/11 paid $15 to do 2-day shipping
1/13 company received non-working shoes
1/16 checked on order status via fb messenger (the only media that has given me any responses) and was told I should be recieving shipping notification that day.
1/25 (Today) after inquiring again via fb, I was finally given a tracking number. The tracking number says that a label has been created, but the actually package hasn't left the warehouse... in Hong Kong. Finally spoke to a human on the phone lines. "Dave" was the supervisor I spoke to. He was rude and spoke over me as I was airing my frustrations. I told him how rude that was and that a supervisor should practice better customer service. (I was a fine dining restaurant manager for years, and sometimes you just need to let the customer vent).
Even if The replacement shoes are shipped today, I won't receive them until 1/28- EXACTLY TWO MONTHS since I placed the order.
There was never an apology. Would not reimburse me for the return shipment of a shoe that didn't charge even before my daughter opened them on Christmas morning.
There's a difference between new companies that are trying to "get it together" and new companies that are trying to make a quick buck and don't care about the happiness of their customers. Unfortunately, many of us have been taken advantage of by this company's false statements (processing & shipping) as well as a lack of customer service.
If you are smarter than myself and reading this review before placing an order, consider yourself lucky. Stay away from Hoverkicks!
Placed an order for 2 pairs on DEC 18. Received one pair on DEC. 22. I was promised 2 day shipping (which is apparently offered on ALL orders all the time) I tried writing emails with only generated responses asking me if I wanted to cancel the order. It's the 29th and the second pair still says "processing order". It's been 10days. I tried callin as well. I waited on the phone for am hr and a half. Finally tried callin from my father's phone and it says they are closed. So I was waiting and being told that they would be right with me and that my call is important to them. It obviously wasnt. To play a recording telling me they are on the line with other customers when they are closed is just messed up. My little cousin is so bummed and still waiting on her shoes. They lie and they are unorganized. They don't keep track of inventory and if they run out they won't inform the people who are waiting on them. Terrible people with terrible business ethic.
Update on my previous review. As I'm writing it the customer service person answered after and hr. I immediately ask for the manager. He answers and he is rude and DOES NOT care about the consumers. After telling him my experience all he said was... you want to cancel it or wait on it? Not even remotely trying to be helpful. He tells me that the shoes I ordered on the 18th are out of stock until next week. No one followed up to tell me this because they were in Stock when I placed the order. I had to wait for an hr on hold to find out. Then when I told him something would be done about it... he told me he would cancel my order and just not worry about it. I told him the child was waiting on her shoes and that's obviously not going to happen. He told me he didn't care, he was going to do it anyway. I wish we could post recordings on here. Do not order from this site. I plan on calling my bank and disputing it anyway. The people here do not care about you or your experiences with them. They are not the type of business I want to be involved with. Then again, they are based out of NY so makes sense. Apparently it's only one manager and he has no one above him so he wouldnt let me talk to anyone besides him. He kept threatening to cancel the order regardless of what I had to say. If it weren't for the fact that my family already saw the shoes and is expecting them... I wouldve let him cancel it. It's OK though. I'll get my money back.
So let me to you a story.
Once apron a time there was a company that sold shoes THAT HAD LIGHTS IN THEM and a very hIgh strung 13 yr old boy saw them AND REALLY WANTED THEM FOR HIS SCHOOL SHOES, So a pick was made and MONEY WAS SENT OVER. And then the wait began, days past and the young boy kept asking
"ARE MY SHOES GOING TO BE HERE TODAY?' and there was no answer that could be given because I had nothing to tell him."
So a HOLE WEEK past and WE HAD A PACKAGE AT THE DOOR.
So the young boy who was very happy that his shoes had finally came opens up the box. AND TO HIS SUPRISED our box
IS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR OH NO we have a box with 2LEFT FOOTED SHOES, the only thing that this $#*!TY COMAPY GOT RIGHT ON IT WAS THE COLOR AND THE "$25" REMOTE... THAT REMOTE DOESNT EVEN CHANGE THE COLORS.
So with this going on we think. LETS LOOKUP THE WEBSITE and contact them and lets get this fixed, cuz you know that's how business is done... so I HAPPLY CALL THE NUMBER Listed and after not getting through the first few times, I finally get through and have someone answer, to find out that the woman on he other end of the phone is not with the HOVERKICKS people at all, so I TELL her that her number that I made he tell me was right, that it is listed on the net as a contact number for a company. Me and her spoke more times then I would like to admit just because I was SURE THERE WAS A MISTAKE and I needed to try again...
So to me and my family HOVERKICKS and speaking to someone who works is like hunting for BIG FOOT or seeing a UNICORN
You think its real and out there somewhere but up to this point HAS NOT BEEN FOUND.
The end of this story is after the BOTCHED ORDER THAT WAS MADE I have been left with 2 SIZES AND 2 LEFT FOOTED SHOES, so for people reading this if you know anyone or you yourself are a amputee left with just your LEFT LEG or you are aware of someone who has just broke there RIGHT FOOT let them know that I have the CURE TO THERE SHOE PROBLEM and can REALLY HOOK THEM UP so they STAND OUT IN A CROWD (even more then having 1 leg and or having 1 foot in a cast). By happily trading them for the "shoes" I have been left with... THIS WAS A FAIRY TALE AT THE START but through our journey with this company IT HAS TURNED IN TO THE CAUSE OF MANY TEARS TO EXIT THE EYES OF A young boy who gets his hopes up for things.
SO THANK YOU HOVERKICKS FOR BEING THE REASON FOR THE TEARS in the cautionary tail of BUYING SOMTHING ON LINE.
