Placed order and paid for 2 day EXPEDITED shipping. My order was sent to UPS as standard ground delivery and now won't get here until AFTER I am gone for vacation. Thanks Hot Topic for running my kids Disney surprises. Your customer service suckS
Did you know if you write a negative review of a Hot Topic product, they can (and will) remove it from the site? I ordered an item 2 months ago and it still hasn't shipped. When I contacted customer service, they basically said they have no idea when it will ship and I'll just have to wait. I published a negative review to warn others of my experience 3 days ago and I just now got an email stating that my review has been removed from the site for violating their "review guidelines." They've made no effort to contact me about fulfilling my order or given any other response besides removing my review from the site.
I definitely DON'T recommend shopping there or doing business with them, I feel like an idiot for even ordering in the first place because their products are so ridiculously overpriced but I took a chance and is was a huge mistake. Don't make the same mistake I made, and don't give them any of your money - because apparently they'll just keep it and never actually send you the products you paid for!
Really frustrated with hot topic right now. First, I placed an order online and ordered the wrong size shirt. I changed my mind and want to change that shirt completely with a bunch of other things (they had buy 2 get 2 for jewelry). I called this morning to change the order but they said, they can't change the order anymore once it's been placed. I asked if they could give me free shipping for the new items I'm about to order instead and I'll just return the shirt that I didn't want in store. They took my order, took my card info and 6 hours later here we are, I still have not received my confirmation email from them yet. I've already called like 10 times today and it's not like they answer right away either. Really bad experience. If you're going to buy from this company, buy in store or if you're going to buy online, make sure you get the right items because they're really ANNOYING to work with. So annoying I've gone into frustration. This is just adding stress to my holiday shopping.

I I will never purchase anything from Hot Topic online again they ruined my daughter's Halloween we purchase an order and never went through they never ordered it didn't go through never received it made us believe that we paid for it on a credit card it was never charged never notified us never we never received the merchandise daughter paid half of the merchandise in store and never received anything and will not get her money back she never wore her outfit to school that she wanted so they screwed us out of her merchandise and out of refunding the money she purchased the merchandise within the store

I love, love, looooove Hot Topic! The jewelry, the clothes, the posterz, the décor! I ordered a $18 poster no too long ago online. It was waaay bigger than I expected! I enjoy seeing all the unique stuff they have for all kinds of cultures and people!
My pre order that I placed months ago got cancelled a couple of days before it's release, very disappointed and extremely unhappy because I waited a real long time for this, it's unfair how people can order the product later and still get there's, and how people can mass order a very hot item and there's no limit per customer, reason why I say this is because then most people turn around and sell it for double the price, hot topic needs to have a better purchasing system or just not be allowed to sell hot or rare items as exclusives if they fail to keep track of inventory and fail to limit customer purchases on a particular HOT ITEM! Like I said I waited months for this and huge disappointment last minute and I've been waiting for hot topic to get back to me and nothing absolutely nothing yet no compensation what so ever.
We purchased two clothing items t from one of HotTopic's location in Canada. After the purchase was made, we realized the amount charged for one of the item did not that on the price tag. Assuming it was a system error we went back to the store to inquire. That's when we were told the price tag was in USD and the price charged was in CAD. How naive of us to expect that both the price tag and price charged should be in the same currency. Otherwise, HotTopic would have given us the option to pay in either currency, right? Before writing this review, we confirmed there were no signage to advise that the price tags maybe in different currencies.
We reached out HotTopic's head office in California and their customer representative confirmed that items are in USD. He was sympathetic that we had to pay in a different currency than that of the local currency and grateful we brought this to the company's attention.
We feel so much better that we have performed a good service with our constructive feedback and left feeling that we were sold something and NOT bought something.
Ordered items on Nov 24th. Like--10 of them. Firstly, they put false stock numbers in their e-commerce shopping cart so that items never show "out of stock". You order a bunch of items, and then two weeks later it's roulette as to which item in your order gets cancelled. I called customer service not once, but twice, and each time I was on hold for 30+ minutes before even reaching a representative. You talk to the rep, and it's obvious they are reading off cues. One actually told me, on a Wednesday night, that my order (that still hadn't shipped) would arrive that Friday. Bull. I worked in shipping, and no matter what carrier you use, nothing is making it from TN or CA to NY in one shipping day. My order arrived the following Tuesday. Meantime, I asked if they could check with the shipping department to see when my order would be shipped, and they literally said "we can't do that, I mean, I could send an e-mail but they probably won't respond". WHAT? Worst customer service experience literally ever.
They will send you the wrong item, and refuse to pay for the postage to send it back to the US. Customer support also wanted me to phone them rather than emails. I will never use this site again.
I know that it's pricey but it's so worth it! I bought my items and two days later got all my packages in the mail in perfect condition! :D love this store online and in person.
I bought Potter Hufflepuff Girls Cardigan as a birthday gift and believe the receiver will be thrilled, I will find out this Sunday, I have not given it yet I can say the quality is excellent and arrived very fast, I will be buying more from them for Christmas gifts
I placed an order using my hot cash I earned for $30. It offered me a free shipping discount so I applied that code also. On my order review it showed both discounts applied so I submitted my order. They then charged me full price and only gave me free shipping. Contacted customer service, very slow and not helpful at all. Told me next time don't use 2 codes together. IT SHOULD HAVE STATED THE 2 CODES COULDN'T BE USED TOGETHER INSTEAD IT TRICKES YOU INTO THINKING YOUR TOTAL IS ONE THKNG THEN CHARGES YOU FULL PRICE. Extremely unacceptable!
The website ordering system is dreadful with loopholes they don't tell you about and then you call and the customer service does everything in their power to deny any wrong doing. I foolishly trusted them and made a pre-order on a purse from Loungefly. It was a gift, so I entered the address of the recipient in the 'Shipping' fields. I received an order confirmation and was told it would ship in 4 - 5 weeks when released.
Well that time came and nothing, no email, no tracking number, no purse. I contacted HotTopic only to find out my order had been cancelled and no notification was sent to let me know. Furthermore, it was cancelled because my shipping address didn't match my billing address and so the system rejected it. WHAT!? Why even give the option to enter a different address if you won't accept it? Why not even tell the customer that they can't do this let alone tell them you've cancelled the order?! I trusted that my order was confirmed and by the time I realized something was wrong, the item was sold out.
What makes it even worse is being on the phone with them for almost an hour while they profusely tried to get out of it and do nothing to make up for their seriously flawed checkout system and lack of communication. They actually expected me to be constantly checking the order status during the four weeks between the order and when it was scheduled to ship to make sure everything was okay. In other words, this was my fault, not theirs. Zero accountability, because I am supposed to know that I shouldn't trust them to contact me with any problems.
Absolutely done with this company.

PLACED ORDER BLACK FRIDAY, CALLED TWICE TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON BECAUSE IT HADN'T MOVED, WAS LIED TO TWICE SAYING IT WAS GOING RIGHT OUT AND 15 DAYS LATER MY ORDER IS CANCELLED BECAUSE THEY "RAN OUT" - NO KIDDING BECAUSE NOONE BOTHERED GETTING MY ORDER READY IN 15 DAYS NOW I WON'T HAVE THIS FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT, ALSO SAID I WOULDN'T GET BACK THE REWARDS I USED TO PURCHASE THIS, REWARDS I HAD EARNED AND NOW I LOSE THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO LAZY TO GET ORDERS READY? ITEM WAS IN STOCK WHEN I ORDERED BUT CLEARLY AFTER 15 DAYS IT'S BOUND TO RUN OUT, RIDICULOUS, WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. NOONE ANSWERS THE PHONE NOW EITHER, MY "ESTIMATED WAIT TIME" HAS BEEN 10-20 MINUTES FOR THE PAST HOUR NOW.
Answer: It takes 1-2 days to process your order. Once they ship it, it takes 2-7 days to arrive if you live in the lower 48 states. I don't know about elsewere.
