Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

I went today to Home Depot in Virginia Beach Celebration Station and there's no sanitize for the shopping cart and also there's no sanitize for the checkout registers the self-checkout it's not that hard to protect the customers from Catching the covid-19! 1 of 2 reasons the employee are lazy to do that or Home Depot don't want to spend the money to do the sanitizing thanks
I have ordered one item on Apr 13 2020 on Home Depot website and till Apr 30 2020 there is no shipment of item - The worst experience with the worst website (There is no cancellation of order, and toll free number is not working). Hate it
I ordered some stuff online 2 weeks before from home Depot still they didn't ship it yet while they charged me for my order and everytime I called they said call us in next 3 days if your item is not shipped, so I called them three times and still no shipping. While they said your item is available in warehouse and it is ready to put the label on it for shipping company,
Home Depot as others are giving away all PPE, and is screwing over general public as not to have ANY for general public during a crisis. Shame on you Home Depot, hopefully one of your own doesn't pay the ultimate price for your IGNORANCE. It is the GOVERNMENTS JOB to provide PPE, not Home Depot.
April 17 2020 My son I went to Home Depot in Christiana DE. We were greeted by a associate counting people going into the main entrance. We had to go this way because lawn and garden is a exit now. The associate let us in and as we were walking to lawn and garden, another store associate come running over saying "sir you can't be in here with your child"! This was in front of other customers and store employees. Home Depot is letting 50 to 80 year old people in their stores that's more at risk! The last Home Depot covid-19 update does not mention anything about not letting kids in the stores. All store associates should be educated if this is their policy especially the one at the main door counting! This is discrimination!
Customer service is terrible. They dont stand vehind their warranties. They will be rude. Extremely. Stay away from osage Beach Missouri store or all homedepot stores. National customer service is terrible.
This is the most profitable company in history of the world look it up. Not because they're good because they destroy everything like Walmart and kills every business they can and if they can't kill it they buy it like Orchard Supply and kill it.
I purchase a LG steam dryer from home depot in shrewsbury, the delivery was done by spirit logics, they were suppose to install water pipe for steam and vent pipe.
The person that delivered the unit quickly plug the electric outlet and ran out of the door, I looked at the dryer and I saw that they didn't connect the water, I saw that installer is leaving with a small box in his hand that came with dryer so I ran after him and said that the water is not connected, he said that you need to purchase the hose and y connector before they can install it but the sale person told me that it is included with delivery.
So I went to home depot and told them the issue and while I was there I saw the box that he took with him inside the floor sample dryer which was the pipe and y connector in it.
The sale person gave me another pipe and y connector package and call them to come back for install it.
So I decided to try the dryer and then I found out that they didn't even connect vent pipe and the whole laundry was damp.
I shut down dryer and waited for second crew to install a new vent pipe and water pipe.
When they showed up 4 days later, they said that the valve has little corrosion on it so they refused to install the water pipe. About a 8 month prior, I had the washer service, they said there are no issue with any thing so I asked them to a least replace the vent pipe with new one, when they left I looked the pipe and I saw they cut the vent pipe in half and they just taped a new pipe to it instead of replacing it.
I wish there was less than one star that I could give homedepot and spirit logics in cranking mass.
Really easy to make sure home Depot had all the necessary items I needed at my local store. Managed to get all the supplies for a patio Reno in one trip!
The sales people push the purchase of extended warranties on many items. Do not purchase it. You will be told it will cover repairs, replacements, parts, labor and multiple other items related to the specific product. However the insurer- Asurion will not honor everything you told during the sales pitch. We have purchased many products from Home Depot and have been relatively satisfied but we will never by an Asurion policy for any product anywhere.
Border crossers delivered my appliances and destroyed my hardwood floors, didn't level the appliances, destroyed the water line to the fridge and on and on and on. Contacted corporate and these people are fuc)/;(! Clowns! They could care less about what kind of crap you receive from delivery monkeys. I am so pissed off at their lack of concern that I won't shop there again. FU Home Depot!
I purchased an appliance package from Home Depot. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong size refrigerator. When I asked for an exchange, I was told exchanges are against their policy. The refrigerator that was delivered is still wrapped in plastic. I told the supervisor I just wanted to exchange it for the correct size. I am willing to pay any exchange or re-stocking fees. Nope. Home Depot has an interesting take on customer service. It's Lowes for me from now on.
Home Depot's inept installers of a new washer machine damaged my property (they were asking ME which way to turn the faucets). Home Depot has given me the runaround since then.
WORK ORDER H4641-*******
1. The inept installers damaged the faucets and wall where the new washer was to connect to the plumbing. They then left.
2. The "associate store manager" at the Reston VA office (a Mr. Wright) assured me Home Depot would fix it after I sent him the photos of the damage that he asked for,
3. Home Depot did NOT fix it and authorized me to get my own plumber and send Home Depot the invoice. I did.
4. Home Dept then told me that I would have to deal with their insurance company at some unspecified location.
5. Since then, I have been given the run-around. No reimbursement, no contact from their insurance, nothing.
I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered a gas range that was delivered damaged on February 25th. I did not receive the delivery, however, the delivery man had already disconnected my original range. He called the office and got a replacement that was to be delivered a week later, so I told him to take the old range away. One week without a stove is not the end of the world. Or so I thought. My replacement was scheduled for March 3rd. I got a call March 2nd informing me that my stove would not be delivered until March 11th due to some issue I don't remember. Over two weeks without a stove is unacceptable. When I called customer service, all they offered me was an I'm sorry. I will never purchase another appliance from them ever again.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I spent almost an hour trying to order one item with a tax exempt number - made 3 phone calls - two of which hung up on me. I finally gave up and will have to pay the sales tax as it was not worth the time it took to get it figured out. You can't just use your regular tax exempt number - you have to have a special Home Depot tax exempt number and their registration page doesn't work. What a sham! I've placed many orders with tax exempt status and never had a problem - if you are tax exempt - stay away from Home Depot.
I went to the local Home Depot last night to see about purchasing an exterior door and had some questions regarding doors and installation. I walked the entire store TWICE to try to find someone to assist me and did not find ONE person. A person at checkout came to see if he could help but he couldn't answer all my questions so he tried to call for assistance. No one would answer the phone! The manager emailed me (after I left a negative comment) and asked me to give them another chance. So I went down there tonight and met with the manager. He took me to the door department and introduced me to the "guru." After speaking with the two of them, and deciding to follow their advice and have their person come out to measure, quote and set up a date/time to install, we were informed by the manager of that specific department that the person they were trying to connect us with did windows only, NO DOORS! Apparently the left hand doesn't know what the right hand does. Needless to say, we left there extremely frustrated and no further ahead than if we had never gone down to give them a second chance. In the future, we will be doing all our business at Lowes or the smaller local stores.
(Update to update: Ended up canceling my order because HD kept dropping the ball. In the end, it seemed that all the "Resolutions" Department did was hand the matter back to Reddaway Trucking. And since the incompetence of the trucking company was the crux of the problem, nothing was done to resolve this. I waited a couple more weeks, made a few more calls to HD, and... nothing. I got a phone call today that was identified, by my Caller ID, as coming from the trucking company. But when I answered, the caller said nothing. Just breathed into the line. I phoned HD and asked for Resolutions. Was asked too many questions by the rude customer service rep before he would transfer me, even though I had a case number. And then he transferred me to a STORE, instead of Resolutions. I decided that I had truly entered one of the circles of Hell when I ordered from Home Depot, and that I might be drawn further toward the center if I continued with this. So I phone again and canceled the order. NEVER AGAIN! How in the wold does this company stay in business?)
(Update two days later: HD has not gotten back to me, and they PROMISED, and I am on endless hold waiting to speak to the Resolutions department. Unbelievable.)
Quel surprise: no one at Home Depot followed up on the promised "rescue" of my shipment from the evil trucking company that has it and refuses to deliver it. So I had to waste more time phoning HD Resolutions Department. The short story is that no one knows for sure where my shipment is. I might still be with Reddaway. Probably. HD assumes that it is. But I won't find out until tomorrow. And then I'll have to wait for what, another week? Until another trucking company can go and pick it up from Reddaway and then bring it to me. Eventually. Maybe. I hope.
Adding insult to injury, when the the HD employee phoned me back, after phoning Reddaway, he told me the call was being recorded. He over explained everything, during the call, and was OTT nice, so the recording was obviously for their legal protection. Bunch of scoundrels! They are well aware of their company's poor performance on residential deliveries. Yet they act like this mess is an exception. Look at all the one-star the reviews, HD!
I have been promised delivery on three days (four days of waiting), and every day was a no-show. How do these people stay in business? HD says they cannot control the trucking company, but the trucking company works for HD. I have spent ages on the phone waiting for HD agents, only to have theme do absolutely zip. Ridiculous!
Update: After third no-show, HD resolution center's solution is to "rescue" (their word) my shipment from Reddaway and place it with another carrier. Reddaway told HD that they could not get a truck up my private road. That is a lie, I know, because I had informed them that I needed a smaller truck (my road is accessible for a 26' bobtail truck, but no larger) before the first delivery appointment. I was informed, by Reddaway, that they always send their smaller tucks to deliver in my neighborhood. And did it really take them three delivery attempts to figure out they couldn't get here? No. They never tried to drive up here. Upshot is that I will wait at least another week to get my merchandise.
Never order anything from Home Depot for home delivery! Or even for delivery to a store. It will be a total waste of your time. I have had issues with HD losing smaller orders in the past (one of them was to be delivered to a store), but the latest debacle is the worst nonsense I've gotten from them.
I ordered two enormous, rigid pond liners, to be delivered by an outside freight carrier (Reddaway Trucking, which is also thoroughly incompetent). The trucking company gave me a four-hour delivery appointment, and then never showed up. I phoned them and got nothing but confusion, so then I tried phoning Home Depot. They called the trucking company, which said the items would be delivered on another day. Just to make things more frustrating, the Home Depot agent told me that I did not need to be present for delivery, as it was just a curbside drop off, so the four-hour appointment for which I had driven to the property and waited all afternoon had been unnecessary! I demanded a refund of my shipping fee, for the missed delivery, and I was refunded.
The next day, no one had contacted me about a future delivery date, so I again phoned HD. The agent told me the items would be delivered that day. Once again, the truck never showed up. So I called HD again, and got the runaround. Asked for a supervisor, and was refused. So at the moment I am out about $500 and have lost a day and a half to waiting for a delivery that may or may not be the correct items. That last detail refers to the fact that the trucking company has my shipment logged as "window coverings," instead of pond liners. They would not confirm the size of the box or crate, which might give me an idea whether the correct items were shipped. What they told me was that I should refuse the shipment if it is the wrong thing.
I cannot believe that a company as huge as HD could be so disorganized and clueless. You would think that any trucking company HD contracted with would go out of their way to provide good service, so as to keep the contract. Yet Reddaway Trucking thinks nothing of just blowing off deliveries. And HD is fine with that? Amazing.
I tried to order something over the phone and there was something wrong with my security number on back of my card. So we were ending the call. And my phone was still on and the operator must have thought I hung up. As she started to say rude things about me. When i said excuse me... she didnt know what to say. I asked to speak to a supervisor I got a big run around. So I ask to get the recording of out conversations... They told my the system was down... I called and emailed and it's been a month and nothing. That's how much we meant to Home Depot... At this point i believe Home Depot is an joke. And ill never shop there again...
Went into the mansfield location needing to get some items to secure my home (locks) and draw handles. Rhonda readily assisted and left me feeling like I could install the draw handles by myself. She walked me through everything I needed to know. I bought the drill and handles, and everything looks amazing! Thank you Rhonda for being so awesome!
They are cheater's or lacking copmetance. I have cancelled the order because they couldn't deliver before 4:30pm. To acknowledge cancellation it took them 3 weeks. I am still waiting for refund of over $1000.
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
