I love the Swedish design and Swedish "lagom" lifestyle. It means moderation in everything in life. That's what IKEA brought into their design and furniture. There is nothing too exhaustive, all the items are sleek and minimalistic. I love it!
IKEA charged me £40 for delivery, made me wait a week and sent everything loose. 2 items arrived damaged. They would not let me report this automatically online and I had to start a customer service chat. Redelivery will be another week, putting my project back and costing me more money. Avoid this company at all costs.

None of the promised advance contact for delivery of online order. Phoning them made no difference as identified time slot not met and when checked tracking it baldly stated "not delivered". Paid £25 to waste entire day for 2 people, no idea when to expect delivery now, phonelines jammed, and they really don't seem to care.

Nightmare with their IKEA for business sector. Sent wrong products 4x in a row for my office cabinets. Their financial team never verified the return process and posted to a canceled account without authorization, then never followed up with me directly with mail, etc. after multiple attempts to post the return. I'm an extremely patient person with customer service having experience on an IT helpdesk phone system, but quickly found their customer service is challenging to work with. I got transferred three times only to wait on hold for 2 hours. Reached the original person who transferred me improperly and was patient only asking for a manager, but was rejected. Finally forced my hand and manager is an intermediary at least, but no communication with the source has caused more confusion on the issue.

I purchased $3000 worth of furniture August 8th, 2023. Everything went smoothly with the delivery but I needed these large items assembled. I spent 2 weeks going back and forth between this third party task rabbit and IKEA only to be told in the end, they could not book a task. So I'm now having to take all this furniture bavk. At one point, I was asked by a taster at tas rabbit for extra money on the side. A supervisor was never available for either service. I used to be a loyal IKEA customer. I will never buy again.

Nothing, I could not get the assembly done.
The most painful stressful experience just trying to select and pay on line. The tracking info then advised 3 different delivery days, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The rescheduling app keeps showing the Sunday delivery(67 items) as being 5 items on Tuesday and I can't get the correct delivery. There will be no-one at the property on Sunday. I am so frustrated, your help chat is AI and useless. If I can't get Human response tomorrow I shall cancel the order.

I hopped onto the Ikea website to see what kind of options I had for a kitchen remodel. I was surprised by the accuracy and adaptability of their remodeling program. I was able to build my entire kitchen online and have an Ikea remodel expert go over it and process the order for free. The accuracy is fantastic.
Tip for consumers:
Don't be afraid to go in or call for help.

IKEA.com is a joke. I've been waiting 3 weeks so far, for a duvet and sheet set. The status has never changed from received order. I contact customer no-service, completely useless.they actually lie to you and say it will be there tomorrow. Never again.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t order online

Terrible experience. Terrible customer service. The worst consumer experience I have ever had in my life. They force to wander in their stores like mice, the customer has to do all the work (even passing the items at the register). The furniture (extremely heavy) was simply dumped in our house, with items missing and they declined any responsibility (which goes against consumer laws).
Tip for consumers:
What a mess of a company! Avoid at all costs!

I bought almost 3,000 $ furniture from Ikea,Khobar Saudia
Promissed delivery between Dec.6-12.2022
Until today waiting, calling and writing emails daily. All i hear hopefully you will get it in a few days, but what date? Cant tell?
They talk alot about their customer services but when you try them, you will see how bad they really are. I even emailed Ikea international office by email, and no response!
They failed badly.

Placed an order for urgent delivery. Package is split into 2 delivery days, not ideal but okay. Second delivery date comes and the order doesn't arrive. The Ikea website just says it's "getting ready". Ring next day and get loads of apologies and reorganisation for delivery. Delivery day comes and goes and again no delivery. Apparently there was a problem with the vehicle, hmmmm, but that doesn't explain why I didn't receive the day before notification that usually comes. Did they mean their vehicle broke down the day before or they are psychics who didn't send the notification message the day before because they already knew the vehicle would have a problem? Impressive.
Ring again, get loads of empty apologies again. So now my order is apparently going to be delivered 10 days after it was placed - for urgent delivery.
As for compensation, after taking 3 working days off as holiday, 2 botched deliveries, and hours spent on the phone I had the choice between receiving £10 back that I paid for urgent delivery OR £30 Ikea gift voucher. I pointed out that I should be refunded the £10 anyway as I had not received urgent delivery, which was agreed, but then I would not be offered any further compensation for my ordeal and my time wasted by ikea.
Come on Ikea, If you are already offering me a £30 voucher do you really despise your customers that much that you can't refund them £10 extra they paid for urgent delivery - that they didn't get? Doesn't seem like very fair customer service to me.

I find checking out infuriating. All items on the website should be able to be ordered. The fact that you can't purchase items as the order is too small is maddening and the fact that only the all white affluent areas seem to stock ALL the small items you would want and furniture again makes me really angry. Every single item shown on that website should be available to be shipped even if your store is low in stock. Or out of stock. Ok so it'ed low ion stock at my store and you can't ship it to me? Why. Why should I have to oder $140 more merchandise when all I want is two pot holders, a couple of zip bags and a coat hanger.
I find it troubling that they don't have stores in black and brown neighborhoods, or seem to ship many things to those same neighborhood seems rather racist, like the don't want to invest in neighborhoods that don't sport their target shopper.
Please don't waste my time and show me items I can not buy on the website. Or can't buy if stock is low at my closest store. And please make sure that you are stocking as many of those small items in the white upper middle class neighborhood stores as you are from the store that invites more diverse shoppers and a lot of lower middle class shoppers. As the message come off like we're afraid you might steal a pot holder or hook.
Some store always seem to have EVERYTHING in stock and plentiful inventory while others are always sold out or low stock. If that's a case someone is not doing their job properly and anticipating customer demand, or there is a not so subtle economic form of racism being applied. Let's keep those rich white folks down here happy, not so concerned about that store smack in a working middle class neighborhood, that caters more to students, veterans, shift workers, truck drivers, single mothers, and people of color. Guess what... we like buying those same items too, so please keep them in stock, rather than one store always having everything in stock and another always tapped out and on fumes.
Or have the items ship out from the store with a lot of stock. The "this order is too small to ship and you have to spend this much is just gross and again seems to be a bowing to the rich. Find a tiny box and ship it for crying out loud. Nothing is too small to ship but an ant. Someone should be looking into where they won't ship items or deliver furniture as I can guarantee in my experience there seems to be a racial component there as well.
There should be a reasonable household limit on how many of something people buy as what has been happening in recent years is that people will go to an Ikea empty all the stock on small items and then resell them on Amazon and Ebay at double and triple the price. Do they should not be able to let some one but 150 closet lights, 100 mirrors, or sea grass napkin holders.
I ordered live plants online and pick it up at Click and Collect at Bloomington store. To my dismay and frustrations, I got these damaged live plants! They are garbage! I tried returning it to the customer service while I am still there but they won't accept it because of the stupid IKEA policy! It can't be returned just because it is live plants. Heck, who would want these plants to begin with. If you have that kind of policy, at least give us decent plants!
My daughter made the huge mistake of buying a Malm 6 Drawer "Particle Board" Dresser from IKEA.
Big Mistake!
It's amazing how this company has the nerve to charge over $400 for a dresser that's made of 150% sawdust & glue that is pressed together.
The broken piece that is pictured, has absolutely nothing to do with being careless. All my daughter did was simply close the drawer.
When you assemble junk like this, make sure that your are satisfied where you put it because if you dare move it in the future, it will easily come apart and snap on you. Your beverage rings will also be well noticed too….so lay a towel down 1st. (thats what happens to sawdust.)
I even went to IKEA's website to get replacement parts. Their website is useless. You cannot order replacement particle boards.
When the day finally comes to launch this junk out on your lawn, be sure to cover it up. If it gets wet, it will swell and become 50 times heavier and your garbage men will be mad at you.
What happened to the good old days when furniture was made of this thing called "real wood"?
If you are looking for a furniture sawdust & glue mill….IKEA is the perfect place to go!
If you want to see what real wood furniture once looked like….visit a history museum.

Ikea's online ordering process creates problems. In my case, I ordered a bookcase. I had to complete sale before I could learn when the delivery date was. When their delivery date didn't work for me, I followed links to reschedule. For some reason, no matter how quickly I type and click, the Rescheduler keeps saying Session Timed Out. How can it time out after 12-13 seconds? The web process is dysfunctional and creates problems which you then have to spend time trying to solve.
Ordered a kitchen, including delivery and installation. Immediate payment was required. Installation was done improperly. Had tried for two months to reach customer service via email, SMS, and whatsapp. Besides informing me that they are busy and that someone will try to reach out to me, nothing happened. I wonder if the company has a policy that results in customers giving up on service. This is what happened to me. My only suggestion for anyone seeking a new kitchen is to use other companies.
Tip for consumers:
all I can say is that if you consider complete remodeling of your kitchen use another company with good customer service. I am afraid that Ikea's policy of insisting on full payment long before delivery and installation does not inspire confidence in this company or in its services.

My purchase was a reading desk. They delivered a high quality piece of furniture which is well worth the money spent. Assembly was easy, and I have installed my working from home items already. It was a good referral by a friend and I think the world should know that IKEA is serving customers well.

We ordered a wardrobe with glass door and study table from Ikea on April 2022 month-end which there technicians came for assembly on 02.05.2023.
The study table was damaged and hence was sent for replacement. The table was replaced, again when the technicians came for assembly, they noted that there was same problem with the product, hence we requested for order cancellation. In-spite of this the table was again delivered to us, which after informing them that we have already requested for cancellation of order was collected from our end. This happened till mid – May 22, when first enquired with Ikea team we were informed that we would receive the refund within 15 days, after a week follow –up with them they requested for our bank details which we submitted. Post 10-12 days after that to, when we called them today for the refund, they are informing us that it will take 21 days more to process the request, this is totally unfair
The wardrobe glass door was also ordered without handle. After continuous follow-up with them, (Uploading for product videos on their site) they informed us about non availability of the product through our India and requested us to wait till June end. Since we would be completing 60 days by June end we were hesitant to wait and after pressurizing them, they agreed to change the entire door, which was delivered yesterday 11.06.2023, Today when there technicians came for installation and they opened the product. They found it to be damaged and again it will go on for replacement.
Ikea team should seriously think about their policies, what's the point in sending damaged goods and getting them replaced and wasting customer's time. After buying the product post 40-45 days we are still waiting for an door handle and refund for the cancelled order

I've been scheduled for collection of returned furniture 3 times today. To ensure they would come, we phone again to check. However, it was replied that we were given wrong information and the collection order has NEVER been placed. I was shocked that such a famous company has repeated exhibited very unprofessional customer service and never care about the customer experience of their customers. How do I suppose to re-visit the store for purchase again? Actually the customer service should deserve no star.
Not only have Ikea failed to deliver my item when promised, I have strong suspicions that one of their staff has used my card details fraudulently. I eventually managed to get hold of someone in customer service, who has informed me that they won't do anything about it. Please, don't give them your card details over the phone. I felt safe because it's a big, well-known company, but they honestly don't care.
Ordered a wardrobe for $700, it was missing two key parts so we couldn't put it together, on top of that build quality was terrible. We then spent 3 weeks organizing a return, two no show pick ups, 2 hours on hold every time we tried to call and their on-line chat doesn't even work, no reply to emails ofcoure. Credit / refund still not issued. Will never buy anything from Ikea again, so disappointing and terrible experience and we will be taking them to NCAT.

Order no 3B7828FBFD17 in Greece. My things arrived but the delivery service would not bring them up even though we have an elevator and had paid for delivery at appartment level. We refused to accept delivery if not delivered in the manner agreed. My 7 packages have been missing ever since and 5 calls to ikea e-shop and 2 visits at the local store have not retrieved them yet. No mention of money return either. Tragic!
I ordered a bed and it reached my home with some wear and tear. Basically deliverie sare not being taken care of
Ikea is the most unorganized company when ordering for delivery. Ordered a shoe cabinet. Told there were 6 in stock. I was given a delivery date and time. They charged my card within minutes. One week later no cabinet and no update. Called them and they tell me it was never in stock but on backorder. Now to get a refund they say it will take 7-10 business days. Thats BS. How can they charge my card in minutes but it takes 7-10 days for a refund. Very poor operation. Would not order again from IKEA.
