Awful experience with IKEA delivery.
One order this summer was delivered 2 months later in 3 separate deliveries with one week apart each other.
Another order was not delivered on assigned date despite the fact that adult was present at home on assigned time. I suspect that delivery address was messed up with a different town! No idea how it may happened! I called one day prior re-delivery which was confirmed week in advance and found out that order was canceled! Nobody contacted me either through email or phone beforehand to update, nor I got a clear explanation how it happened.
It's ridiculous how much personal time I spent on the line and talking to representatives from IKEA and North America Logistics with this two orders.
The combination of price and quality is reasonable with IKEA merchandise, but I asked for full refund because I don't want to go through this terrible service knowing that my chances of getting merchandise ordered in mid October before New Year are rather slim.
Really bad experience in every term. Worst customer service. Firstly, the furniture was delivered super late and no one had any idea in the customer care department about where the order was. The QUALITY of material for the furniture was extremely bad. Building some of the items was very complex and got damaged very easily. Bathroom cupboards after a few days got swollen due to moisture and white drawing furniture was easily proved to be scratched. If you order things online there is no easy way to return the items. They say that there is a 365-day return policy but no one tells that the Items such as Mattresses would have to be carried back by the customer to the nearest Ikea store even if they were ordered online. Non helpful customer care and terrible business service.
I`m not surprised this one is the best according to the reviews on the site! The store has LOADS of home appliances and furniture of any style and form. I`ve been their happy client for 2 years already and I`m sure I`ll be happy in future!
Placed an order online with a delivery date a month away. There were no problem placing the order for delivery. Got an email confirmation. A few days before the item was suppose to be delivered, I get an email saying they were preparing the order and that I will receive notification when it leaves the warehouse. The morning of the day it is suppose to arrive; I get an email saying the order has been cancelled. No options given. Seems like a horrible company; service is definitely horrible.
Might as well be. IKEA furniture although modern and sleek with good aesthetic lacks the functionality of a dependable piece of furniture. The prices reflect quality and the brand is trusted but on average... RTG and IKEA offer the same temporary style furniture and price. I would not expect long term functionality here, short term looks and feel are more realistic.
Ikea has a great selection of affordable furniture and accessories. The furniture is not super high quality, but you get what you pay for. The furniture is very attractive, but if you move the furniture a lot from room to room or house to house, it will slowly break apart. This still takes several years of constant moving.
Ikea is great for inexpensive home stuff. I got some terrific Santoku knives there for cheap and some REAL cotton dish towels. Had I shopped alone, I probably would have spent 20X more. Sometimes it's a good thing to shop with your boyfriend.
Had to wait for 25 minutes on hot asphalt, in the sun, on a 100 degree day just to get into the building. Then had to wait 40 minutes to check out. What a waste of time! Guess what IKEA your cheap crap is not worth it!
Delivery was supposed to be in one week. A couple days before delivery they call and say another week, but you can't cancel the order. Try to get through to the delivery company on the phone, good luck. 20 minutes on hold and they think it will come next week, but not sure. NEVER AGAIN IKEA!
My elderly mother has a home in the country, not close to any big cities. We used IKEA online to order a kitchen item for a rental unit. This item was not shipped in a timely manner and we were unable to speak with anyone at their customer service toll-free number. The hold was extremely long, +2 hours when we did finally speak with someone. We were informed that item could not be canceled as it was already waiting for delivery. This item was not shipped out for at least another 3 days. When we did receive the delivery, item was damaged. They do not know how to safely package their shipment so they arrive undamaged. Again a 2 + hour hold on the phone revealed no response or answer. We had to drive 2 hours to the local IKEA to return item and 2 hours back. The IKEA store would not refund the delivery charge and said we had to receive that from IKEA online. After that, we gave up and vowed never to deal with IKEA online again!
The Millberget chair came unassembled but my husband assembled it rather quickly. The wheels on the bottom of the chair do not stick but roll smoothly over carpet or hardwood. Adjustments for height and back are easy to do. The price is right too!
I look at some of these idiots reviews and most of it was their own stupidity. First of all, you're shopping at a cheap company. So, "you get what you pay for". Then you say how you call and speak to people that aren't helpful. Maybe you should call and speak with some respect for other people, that you would like to help you. Stop acting like a Karen or Kyle, in order to try to get help.
When you decide to buy cheap crap, that's your Own Fault!
Normally i go into the store and buy, but because of Covid 19 and the stores being closed at the time, i decided to order a simple thing online and pay delivery. It came damaged. To this day i am still spending countless hours with online chat and still have yet to get a resolution. Horrible experience ordering online and i will never do it again.
I visited the Oak Creek store in Wisconsin yesterday. It was a beautiful store. It was clean and bright. The displays were outstanding. However, when it came time to purchase the products there were none available in stock to purchase. By the fourth item I was beginning to get frustrated. They dont sell the display items. The employee offered to ship to me for $9.00 shipping and handling. No thanks. It just took us 2 hours to get here. Without the products to purchase it is just a museum. Disappointed and I don't plan to return to this store.
Ikea may have great products and be very affordable, but their chosen delivery service - NAL - is abysmal. They do not deliver when they promise and they do not give the promised 30 minutes' notice of delivery. When they fail to give this notice and call 5 minutes before they arrive, they growl that they "can't wait". Requiring their delivery partners to observe their stated policy of calling to notify customers 30-40 minutes ahead would solve everything but that is clearly not their priority. Pay extra at any other furniture site to get more reliable delivery! Dealing with Ikea's terrible delivery service is just not worth the headache! I tried to upload my receipt but it didn't work. Avoid Ikea!
You get what you pay for from Ikea. Their furniture styles are in but the are bad quality. I would say if you're always moving to different places, then Ikea is great for you but otherwise, their quality doesn't stand.
I scheduled my delivery for morning time slot and when I called customer service, after 1 hour of waiting, they told me it will be delivered at 7.30pm because they accidentally put my name at the bottom of the list. So at 7.30pm I called again and they said they will look into it. Finally, my delivery arrived around 8.30pm but I had to book elevator 3 times and reschedule assembly team.
I ordered furniture with the expected delivery date of 5/20/2020 set by IKEA, the order didn't show up, so I went to track my order and it said it was cancelled however I was still charged. So I called customer service, waited on hold for literally 3 hours, got someone on the phone to check what happened and after giving them my order number, they put me back on hold for another 45 minutes and disconnected the phone! I called again, waited another 2 hours and the person who answered just automatically hung up! I can't get ahold of anyone, Ive called continuously throughout the day and no one is willing to help. IKEA and their customer service line is absolute trash. I understand there is a pandemic, but the absolute lack and refusal to help their customers is just maddening. I still do not have a resolution to my issue, no furniture and no refund.
Order no 3B7828FBFD17 in Greece. My things arrived but the delivery service would not bring them up even though we have an elevator and had paid for delivery at appartment level. We refused to accept delivery if not delivered in the manner agreed. My 7 packages have been missing ever since and 5 calls to ikea e-shop and 2 visits at the local store have not retrieved them yet. No mention of money return either. Tragic!
Apparently in the Netherlands IKEA uses Red je Pakketje. They are horrible. After waiting 2 days for a package I called and found out the driver had locked the keys in the van! Why he waited so long to report it - I must assume this because if Red je Pakketje knew he was delayed WHY didn't they pass the information to the customer? - I have no idea. When I called I got the endless non-information "We just found out, this is the only information I have" until they hung up on me. It really makes me think before I EVER have anything delivered again. What a disappointment. I don't really believe what they said either.

Answer: I chose IKEA because we like the quality, price, style and it's pretty easy to put together. We have purchased several items, besides the latest, which are the desk and chair. Our other items were a king-size bed, with a headboard, dresser, 2 nightstands, desk, bookcases, bedding and a mirror. Everything arrived in perfect condition and was easy to assemble.
