We purchased a couch and 2 chairs and the Guardsman warranty in October of 2019. The couch and chair have not worn well at all. They are not used much because we are seasonal residents (usually 3-4months/yr). After the first few months the couch developed little cloth knobs on them which do not come off. The we got a stains on the couch and they do not come off. We filed a clain with Guardsman warranty company bu USPS mail. It has been 7 weeks and still no response. Since we have not heard we contacted Havertys and they gave us a 1-800 number for Guardsman. We called and we on hold for over 1.5 hrs with no response. We gave up. It is in your best interest not to purchase furniture from Haverty Furniture store, and dont waste your money on the Guardsman warranty.
I purchased over $6k worth of furniture from Haverty on a 18mo, same as cash promotion. I guess they were under the impression a black family wasn't gonna be able to pay off the furniture in 18months. I was constantly receiving calls to come shop more as I paid off this debt. Fast forward to $1,500 from payoff on my account. Haverty went in and reduced my credit limit from $6,500 to $1,500 which increased my credit card spending limit and caused a big hit to my credit report. No one could explain why this was done. When I made this purchase, I bought the guardsman gold plan and believe me when I tell you. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WARRANTY! I have been going back and forth with guardsman and Haverty. Guardians sent out a tech for repair on what was suppose to be all the furniture (sofa, chair, 2 night stand and bed). The tech only came out and looked at the sofa and informed me that the VINYL (not leather as Haverty stated) couldn't be repaired. This tech never mentioned the chair or bedroom furniture and states that's all Guardmans requested to repair. This supposedly leather sofa cost thousands but Guardsman offered me $236 for the sofa. Today 2/21/24, after over a year of seeking a resolution to my situation, I'm still stuck with damaged furniture and no help from Haverty. In fact I called the Kennesaw satire today and was transferred to CS, only for the rep to hang up in my face, when confronted with the matter. I called guardmans and a Miranda quickly connected me to a number of a service that's closed. She did give 2 different claim numbers, generated I assumed by rooms but still no answer on how each claim number not list all the items damaged. I used to word at a Haverty furniture warehouse in MS and this store is a joke now. I'm in search of a good attorney for both Haverty and Guardsman as we speak. I've mentioned to them several times of their waiting game. I see the constant running around as just such, until my warranty expires.
The furniture is expensive - I spent $20,000 (!) on a whole new house full of furniture & I have had several defects, up until now they have repaired. However, now they are refusing to fix a manufacturing defect on my coffee table (rolling castors stripped from the wood with very little use) because I am only a few months past the 1 year warranty date. As expensive as it is, nothing should be falling apart in just over a year's time. I highly recommend buying your furniture elsewhere.
They damaged my door the first time they came. Haverty quickly called me and paid me for a new door within a week. Great furniture and stand up company. Second delivery today with no issues very nice and helpful delivery staff. Sales person and office people are great Jim my salesman was awesome. I will definitely go back to Haverty Raleigh.
After one year the dining room table has red spots coming through the top. Guardsman can't fix and the chair black paint gets on clothes. No help or concern by Red, the Coconut Creek manager. My opinion is they are overpriced and not as good as they should be. Paid 749.99 for the Guardsmen Gold plan. This company is one big bad experience. If you want good furniture and a good experience, this is not where you want to spend your. Money.
Bought furniture in beginning of June specifying a deliver date of July 1 and missed it and no help.
Every employer has a duty to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. Sadly Haverty's executives and HR did not even after several women reported being harassed in their workplace. All they did was transfer the male manager to a different location out of state. Several women were forced to leave or lost their jobs after reporting the harassment to HR and corporate executives.
Boycott companies that don't protect women's right to be able to work without discrimination and harassment.
I purchased a brand new couch with chaise. I received a used couch with unmatched feet. I was told it was delivered in error and should had been delivered at their clearance location instead. You could see the couch did not wear well. I decided not to purchase at all and ask them to pick up the used coach. That's when everything went bad for me. They tried to force me to exchange for something else. They were very unprofessional & rude. After a week of going back & forth with them they finally picked up the used coach but I'm still trying to get my cash refund back. I hate talking to them because they're so rude. Do not trust these people, they will turn on you. Go somewhere else and get better quality furniture.
Purchased furniture from Havertys and within a year leather on reclyners and couch cushions started cracking and pealing. Barely a year Haverties would not cover, after jumping through hoops and waiting for their response 30+ days they say we have to file claim with Guardsman. Guardsman said we waited to long to file a claim with them because we didn't report to them within 30dys. So we are stuck with cheap leather furniture that didn't last a year and no warranty that they sold us. Havertys should be ashamed for selling their customers a sorry fraudulent insurance like Gaurdsman that we paid a premium for!
I will never buy from them again and make sure I can report or give a bad review for both Havertys and Guardsman everywhere i can. They should both be held responsible for lying about a repair or replace warranty to customers.
Havertys lies to their customers telling them their leather sofas are top grain leather when really it is garbage bonded leather made in China. Guardsman insurance is yet another scam since they won't cover anything. Their dining set which was supposed to be real wood is nothing more than particle board and thin veneer.
There are times in our lives when we realize we cannot change our past mistakes buying from Havertys furniture. But we can share our story to help others see the truth how Haverty's deceives their customers. Do yourself a favor avoid Haverty's furniture.
Their service is terrible after you buy. They ignore your complaints and give you the run around hoping the warranty expires. I've contacted them many times with a promise of "we'll look into it and call you back." Still waiting. I'll never shop there again.
I am very disappointed in Havertys they are all about making money. If you purchase from them they claim you have to wait on your order and it takes a year to get it charge delivery if you ask for free delivery after waiting a year for your purchase they say no and sell the merchandise to another buyer for a higher price. Just think twice about shopping with them
Don't buy the protectioon plan, mine was 399.00. Guardsman does not get back with you on issues.
I have a stain and cannot get any resolve on getting my couch clean. First I recieve a very small packet to clean the area, all 3 seats were stained. Still having to call muiltable times to get it clean.
After part of my furniture order was delivered I requested all be picked up for return and credit. The quality was so bad that absolutely nothing arrived without serious issues. 2 Corey chairs looked lopsided due to each right arm being manufactured with a crooked front seam. My Beckett sofa had 2 different dye lots on the back cushions, one in a cooler grey than the other middle and other back end. Zippers so crooked they would barely zip and unzip. Odd dye lot back is way over stuffed while the 2 others were under stuffed. Large canvas had crack through the top frame. This is not the furniture store we got decent, well constructed furniture from in the 1990s and 2000's. Keep looking if you went a piece of quality. Wasn't a pleasant experience navigating the return with the rude salesperson who seemed to care about her loss of commission and questioned my expectations.
I purchased a large amount of executive office furniture (Whitlock II collection): 6 bookcases, executive desk, and file cabinet. Total price exceeded $11,000. I purchased these items approximately 8 months ago, but have not been able to use the bookcases because they were assembled incorrectly. Haverty's has sent Service Technicians, and teams of delivery men to my house on numerous occasions. Over these 8 months, I have been astounded by the ineptitude of this company's inability to correctly assemble the bookcases in order to make them safe to use.
I have purchased better quality furniture at Arhaus and BiF furniture stores in Fairfax, VA. Even though these stores are more expensive, I was glad to pay the extra amount of money SO THAT I CAN USE IT ONCE THEY WERE DELIVERED TO MY HOME. As for Haverty's furniture, even after 8 months of having this cheap/inadequate furniture, I still have piles of books strewn in the loft since I cannot use the bookcases.
If you have the means, I would definitely look elsewhere (i. E. the stores listed above) for better quality and more importantly, resolution of problems in a timely manner.
ADDENDUM: If you look through these reviews, you'll notice that the "5 star" reviews get a "Response from the Owner." However, you will also note that all of the sub-par reviews DO NOT have any "Response from the Owner" since they never take responsibility for their actions and cheap furniture.
Although our salesman was nice he was either dishonest or uninformed about their products because he sold us a sectional as real leather that is peeling after five months! I am very disappointed as we spend around 3 grand on this sectional. Unfortunately we did not buy the warranty.
I waited 5 weeks for my $2.6k reclining leather sofa to come in and missed work to be home for its delivery. The window they gave me for delivery was between 2:30-4:00 p.m. on a Friday. I was home and working outside in my yard from 12:00--4:00 p.m., yet no one ever showed up. I received a voicemail telling me that the delivery driver could not locate my address. I called Customer Service by 3:30 p.m. and was told that I would have to reschedule, that the driver was done for the day. Hmm... you have my correct address, but you can't find it, so I need to take another day off of work to receive my purchase? Google Maps marks my address precisely, yet you can't find it? I call you before the end of business to clear up your confusion, yet you cannot accommodate my scheduled delivery? There are too many high quality furniture companies who can deliver product to the customer as promised. I will not buy another stick of furniture from Havertys.
Purchased 2 beautiful matching sofas right off the floor. Was told they were custom ordered but wasn't what customer wanted in the end so they returned them. So I got a deal, bought Guardsman package, followed the process to the T immediately when items were delivered... in filthy condition. Their response of basically "we can't be responsible for what happens when our delivery guys bring it to you... you bought it off the floor" just smacks of a bait and switch tactic. Even though I signed the "as if" form documenting/accepting the one minor issue they are not accepting responsibility nor meeting their standards as promised nor even offering something comparable to get the repairs done myself. My other option is to return both sofas and then wait 6-12 weeks for something else. AND be without any seating since I sold my other furniture to make room for the delivery of this living room furniture. Rearranged my day to be onsite for the tech to do what their customer service department promised... namely, clean both the sofas completely. He shows up with a spray bottle and a rag... really!?! Not to mention the numerous phone calls to Haverty's to resolve this. Horrible situation. Have spent many dollars over the years at Haverty's. Never again. DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY...
We bought a leather set (sofa, 2 recliners) back in 2013. A few years after purchase, one of the recliners started squeaking, popping and while under warranty we had the whole undercarriage replaced. The same thing has happened again and there are metal shavings on the floor underneath. Horrible product, not quality! Wish we had never purchased!
Ordered not cheap furniture in March. Delivered damaged and stained in July. Ordered a new product to replace damaged product. Made incorrectly. Then arranged for original damaged product to be picked up, rescheduled by them x 3. Now October still no resolution.
Answer: After Checking Consumer reports and the complaints posted of Havertys low quality furniture and customer service problems we shopped for our furniture at different stores and glad we did. We found better styles, quality and pricing that met our budget.
Answer: The only Success Story we can share about Haverty's Furniture is Getting a FULL REFUND and taking my business elsewhere where they know the meaning of quality furniture and customer service. After calling their Corporate Offices in Atlanta we told them of the extensive damaged furniture we received 3 times. We demanded a refund and also called our credit card company. We refused all the furniture. We finally received a full refund. Save yourself the headache and buy furniture somewhere else.
Answer: Don't bother. They don't care about your problems after you pay..
Answer: Cos they can't get any suckers to work there for $12. Hour when even Walmart pays 15. Hour.
Answer: American Signature - honest business that stands behind their products
