First time and last time using GrubHub. We placed an order and the ETA was changed 2 additional times.
I called them to tell them that my order wasn't complete and instead of sending the food I so patiently waited for the threw money at the situation.
When you order food, you usually expect it to show up when they tell you it will right? Well Grubhub will tell you when it "Should" be there but that is rarely correct. That's only a portion of the reason I'm writing this terrible review. An hour after I had ordered and 30 mins after the original delivery time passed, the time updated to another 30-40 mins later. So I called to ensure I'd be given fresh food for the delay, who'd want to pay for food sitting out over an hour? When I called they informed me the restaurant I had ordered from was CLOSED. Yes, they were closed, but not over an hour ago when I actually ordered. Normally one would expect a heartfelt apology from the company along with something like a coupon to avoid resentment from the customer. What do you think they did? "Here's your refund, you'll get it in 3-5 days. Can I help you with anything else?". If I hadn't called them I very well could've waited over 2 HOURS before finding out my order wasn't coming. If that isn't bull$#*! I don't know what is. If you plan on using this service expect massive delays, random cancellations literal HOURS after ordering and staff who isn't able to even compensate your horrid experience.

The driver was heading to the restaurant when I called the support line and informed that my food wasn't coming. Without my calling to confirm I'd be given fresh food they wouldn't have even know my order was canceled until the poor driver made it to the location.)
Last night, I placed an order after a long day of traveling with 3 kids. I was told it would take 60 minutes for the food to arrive. I received a text saying the food was being prepared and another one saying it was on its way. I waited another 30 minutes and checked the app and it said delivered but I never received it. I called Grub Hub and they put me on hold for ten minutes then somehow I got transferred to the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He told me in a patronizing tone that I called and cancelled it and he called Grub Hub. He said they were closed and there was nothing he could do. I called GrubHub back and was told that they never called and it still showed that I received the food. I told her that they just connected me to the manager and this is what he told me. She said she need to verify this. Another 10 minutes on hold and she comes back and offers me credit for GrubHub with a few extra dollars on it to make up for the trouble. I told her that I wanted my credit card reversed because I planned never to use them again. I told her that if she refused to credit my account, I would call my credit card company to tell them that I never received the food and I was being billed for it and they would have to do their own investigation. I had to get very forceful for her because she didn't want to refund me but I never received the food so why should I be stuck with their version of store credit. Plus I told her that I had 3 kids now that are ready for bed eating chips because somehow their service screwed up. She finally relented. I think their customer service is horrible and they are instructed not to refund because she kept trying to convince me that their system showed the food was delivered. I told her that if my food was delivered I wouldn't have called being so angry.
Excellent concept, but it needs refinement. In the last three months or so, I have had problems with nine orders out of maybe 20 or 30 orders. On seven of those orders, there was a missing item, usually a drink. This usually happens with fast-food restaurants like Taco Bell, Wendy's, Burger King, or McDonald's. If you call or chat with them in the app, they always give you a refund though. They have never charged me for a meal they never delivered, unlike UberEats which has permanently lost my business. Missing items still happen too often. They usually lowball the delivery times when you make an order, but the order is usually delivered within an hour. On the other two occasions, Varino's Pasta immediately cancelled my order, once in January and once in March. If they are not taking orders through GrubHub, they should not be listed on there.
On tonight's order I ordered from O'Shaughnessy's. The muffin was $2.25, the fried mushrooms with marinara were $6.80, the sales tax was $1.00, the delivery fee was $4.99, the service fee was $4.01, and the tip for the driver was $6.48 (total $25.53). All of the fees more than doubled the cost of the meal. This is typical for GrubHub orders. I make similar breakdowns in my other restaurant reviews. I don't mind sales tax or a tip for the driver, but I should not have to pay delivery or service fees. This is on top of the 30% GrubHub charges the restaurant. The cost of delivery is borne by the driver, not the restaurant or GrubHub. These outrageous fees are causing GrubHub to lose orders and are squeezing restaurants during this economic crisis. I have noticed that many of the restaurants are no longer offering drinks to order with the meals. I guess they got tired of giving refunds for all the missing drinks. I don't know why it is so hard to remember to include a drink that somebody ordered, but evidently it is.
They charged me $55 for KFC food that was only $39 on KFC website and I picked up my food myself. Grub hub sux!
Every time I've used it so I've used it a total of three times each time my either my order was canceled I was missing an item or they just never showed up absolutely would not use GrubHub.
2 days in a row I ordered food from these people and they cannot find the house one time was in the evening and one time was in the morning Friday like they cannot find my trailer f****** b******* they want to refund give me a $10 credit towards another meal like I want to keep ordering she keeps happening they want to keep getting somebody to order I told them m*********** on the customer care line to refund my order completely to my account and give me a free meal cuz it was the second day it happened in a row and he plays pretty much did ordered my meal off my card before I even responded and told me my mail was coming I got the email right away they'll f*** you over at this place f*** Grandpa there and I want to see every month if you want to get free delivery otherwise it's five dollars of delivery you might as well go to the f****** store cuz I'm pretty sure if you look at the menu at the store and you look at the menu online they're charging more on GrubHub than the store charges when you go in there they don't even deserve the one star I gave them
Ordered a salad - received a salad with no dressing that I obviously can't eat. Just received a 5 dollar promo code. Really? Wtf? Will not use again.
The absolute worst customer service, I couldn't believe it. We ordered food for delivery at 7:27pm and received notification that estimated arrival was at 8:47. Kinda late for us but we went with it. 8:50pm comes around so we call to check if it's on the way, any questions on finding our place... they said it's already out for delivery and should be there in 10-15 mins. Bummer, we have to wait probably until 9:10pm for our food. 9:15pm comes around and we are getting pretty anxious so we call back and they give us the number of the delivery driver to check with them. We call the number and they said they are at home not making any deliveries. We are confused and it's already 9:30pm so 2 hours after we ordered has passed. Call again and they say again "it's on the way!" We explain the driver said they are not delivering anymore but they didn't understand. I know it's dumb we kept thinking the food was coming since they kept saying it's on the way but it was 9:50pm and we call for the last time and they did not pick up. It had been 2 hours and 25 mins since we ordered and they didn't think it was strange we hadn't gotten it? No one said there must have been an issue with the driver, let me find out... we will reimburse you... so sorry etc but no, nothing.
It was the most bizarre thing, I see the charge on my card but no food was delivered. No apology. They can't keep track of what's going on and didn't care.
We had arrived from being out of town for weeks so we didn't have food in the house. We went to bed hungry.
Never order a gift card from DoorDash! They advertise that there are deliveries to a certain location and then once you buy the gift card there are ZERO deliveries to the area. They also then refuse to offer an refund which is fraudulent! Please share. I was attempting to help a family with Covid. DoorDash is a scam!
GrubHub - don't do it. Delivery took 75 minutes from a restaurant that is 10 minutes away. Delivery time was pushed back twice. After talking to the restaurant, it was clear that the problem was the GrubHub driver. Not only was the food picked up late, but then we could see from the GPS in the app that the driver sat for 10 minutes at the street instead of coming to the house. Finally I get a call from GrubHub saying the driver is lost. OK, if the driver is lost, then have the DRIVER call for directions, not some guy obviously calling from Eastern Europe using a Chicago telephone number. My wife went out to the street to get the food from the driver.
Now it gets worse. The order was incomplete. I call the restaurant (which is fantastic - we have eaten there before) to see what's up. The restaurant has a check-off system for every food item in a to-go order, and they report that the missing item was checked off. The GrubHub driver picked up more than one order, and the restaurant thinks the driver put the missing item in the wrong keep-warm bag. The restaurant offers to send a replacement, but GubHub WON'T DO IT. GrubHub says we have to order the item again. However the item is below their minimum, so they won't do it.
At this point the restaurant has called GrubHub and so have I, both of us getting the same BS about GrubHub fixing THEIR problem. I get the restaurant on a conference call with the GrubHub rep. The restaurant offers to charge $20 for a $15 item, which seems to fix things, but no. I ask about ETA. The restaurant says the missing item is ready to go now. The GrubHub rep still can't give an ETA. What about a refund for the missing food item, or the extra $20 for the replacement that I will have to pay for via the app in order to get the order moving? GrubHub can't give a refund for either of those things. All they can offer is a $5 coupon on a future order.
I ask to talk to a supervisor. I finally get someone who is based in the USA, but she can't offer anything beyond what has already been discussed. She does offer to refund the missing item, but as of this writing that hasn't been done.
GrubHub is a COMPLETE SCAM. Do not use them
Placed an order for Red Robin and 2 and a half hours later the App said it was delivered and also said it was refunded! Never got any food...wtf
Horrible whenever I would order half the time the food wouldn't come and they would always call to cancel never order from here its the worse.
I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I ordered off of the yelp site not knowing that the delivery service wasn't actually from the restaurant. I ordered around 630 pm and saw that my card was charged 52.00. So I checked my status around 7:30 and it said my food would be here at 8:05, I'm thinking that's a long wait but I can deal with it. Now it's 8:05 no pizza, so I check my status and it says 8:20 (also has a timer saying I have been waiting 1 hour and 36 minutes) so 8:20 rolls around nothing. So now I check yelp and the place closes in 20 min, so I call the restaurant and they say that the food has been sitting there and that nobody has come to pick it up, they said I used this eat24 delivery company (unknowingly) so I call eat24 customer service and they say they can't get ahold of the delivery driver. Finally they tell me that he is getting the food. So I asked, I have been waiting 2 hours and the restaurant says the food has been sitting there and I'm charged $52.00 for something I haven't even received what can we do about this? She said she can give me a $6.00 discount (this is what I had already pre tipped the driver on my cc) so I said then I don't even want it, I'm not paying for $52.00 worth of cold food,(but we can send you a coupon she says. Why would I want a coupon to a place that is probably just gonna mess my order up again. So now I have to wait 5 days for a refund when I checked my bank account and they already took the $6.00 off makes no damn sense. PLEASE DONT ORDER USING THIS SERVICE. ALSO FROM ALL TGE BAD REVIEWS I HAVE READ WHY IS THIS SERVICE NOT SHUT DOWN!
Ordered soup cuz have flu. Soup bowl had a hole in bottom and soup went everywhere, in bag, on countertop.
Ordered the dinner thought Grubhub. After waiting for more the n40 minutes, the drivers texted me that the order has been cancelled.

Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.
