Do not buy direct from GoPro! I like their products, but the customer service system is a chat that seems so disconnected from actual order fulfillment and returns that it's not helpful. I returned a brand new order only to go weeks without a refund. They kept saying it had been elevated to their "Warehouse Team" and I still don't have my money back. Going to need to go the charge-back route with my credit card company unfortunately.
I received my Hero8 Black as a gift. Customer service gave inconsistent advice regarding set up and they had to send me a second battery in the first month. After about 2 years, the video playback froze after about 5 min. Next came to picture display; just the menu on a black screen. A repair company told me they'd have to replace a main circuit for $159. GoPro offered a "subscription" including cloud storage and "Guaranteed Camera Replacement" What they don't mention is that, if they don't happen to have another of your same camera in their warehouse, there is a $99 Service Fee. I was asked for my credit card and told that the new camera would not be shipped until they had received my old camera and determined what the problem was. It seemed to me that the whole think is a scam. For $350, the camera should last more then 2 years. I probably used it twice per month for the first 90 days, then it was put away for the winter. If that is an example of how long the camera lasts, why would I pay another $99 for yet another of their cameras. Maybe the 2-year replacement policy is their profit structure. Not for me! I gave the camera and accessories to a friend and cancelled my subscription.
In the last two months I have spent more than $1000. 00 on GoPro cameras and some third party accessories. I have an issue with a GoPro subscription discount that I did not receive on one purchase. The total amounts to approximately $70.00 US. Not a great sum but it is my money, no GoPro's money. I have done everything in my power to resolve this issue but GoPro quite simply refuses to contact me in spite of my numerous attempts at contacting GoPro. The customer service is virtually nonexistent. Caveat emptor. I have learned a difficult lesson. However, I do have very powerful tool in my toolbox and that is word of mouth. I will relate my GoPro experiences wherever and whenever I can So, take heart disgruntled consumers you are not powerless there are effective measures you can take against GoPro.
My go pro black 10 broke, and sent it back for a return under the warranty policy, Return Merchandise Authorization for Case ******* - it arrived on January 3rd at the warehouse. Today is January 16th, no tracking number, no communication on the next steps. I called now 2 times, the second time they advised me they would check with the warehouse and would get back to me in 24 hours, no one reached out. This is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had, I've been a gopro customer for 5+ years, after this experience I will never purchase their products again. The quality of the cameras has also gone down over the years which you can make up for customer service, in their case it's not existent.
2nd time now i have ordered product from this company. Not only is there product the best on the market for the price you pay but customer service was helpfull and product was recieved very quickly... thanks go pro!

The potential for how I want to use it is there but the circus for finding out the info I need wants to make me shoot myself in the head, or go pro system
Pathetic that a company like this has to resort to bundling subscriptions with camera purchases in order to scam people out of $50 when it auto-renews. Then REFUSE to refund even though there is absolutely no reason not to issue a refund unless you are trying to straight up rob people since there is absolutely no equipment involved.
My family and I recently took a trip to an island for he first time last week. Wanting to "capture" every special moment, I decided to purchase a go pro hero. It was fine, and I was able to capture some photos and videos. Until the day before our departure from the island. And after all the sight seeing done, my go pro would not turn on. Tried to reboot it... but was unsuccessful. Instead... ALL my photos and videos on the memory card turned to 0. YES. All of those memories supposedly captured are now gone. Worst investment. Waste money. And now wasted memories I'll never be able to retrieve because this device failed me..
Be very careful when you buy from GoPro site. Be aware of hidden charges. They say duties, taxes and fees.
I've received open package. On my comment UPS delivery person said it is because how GOPRO taped the package. He was correct, very untidy, no protection, it seems like they recycle old one.
Since is pandemic I just returned as is. Did not open at all.
I did not receive full refund, GOPRO did not refund the duties taxes and fees. On my comment that it doesn't not make sense because they will sale again and charge duties, taxes and fees again, GOPRO person mentioned lawyers etc...; very strange.

Purchased a hero 10 black and all the mods, i paid for express shipping. Camera arrived in 2 days, defective and would not power on. Contacted support and RMA issued took 7 days for them to get it, 7 days to process. According to agent they shipped a refurbished unit. Worst purchase i have ever made. I paid for a new camera & fast shipping. It has been over a month and i am still waiting... they cannot refund me because they already sent out a refurbished unit that i have not received. Customer service says they will get with their team manager and contact me when they can find out anything.
Purchased for daughter subscription service was included. Upon receipt of camera my daughter completed own subscription. I cancelled future billing of 49.99. They continue to charge me alto I have proof there is on one camera. Have tried to cancel, efforts are unsuccessful. Going to shut down credit card to stop billing. Just had conversation wit a rep stating that I agreed at the initial purchase and according to "Their terms they have a right to continue to charge me and because she subscribed they are within their right to charge her, as well. Asked for a refund for my subscription and was told no. With customer service like this no wonder the company is struggling!
Don't bother, there is a reason the new customer support number is just a voice recording, stating to submit your written complaint to their website and someone will get back to you. What a laugh. Then hide behind company legal to avoid refunds or provide any support to the camera you bought. Still like the camera, not in love with it, but company is beyond greedy and terrible.
Do not buy this bull$#*!. Very easy to loose. Extremely poor quality crap. Comes off your head with no provocation. Poor design. Overpriced. Simply do not buy. Thanks to its $#*!ty design my brother's is now lying in the dark depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Total waste of money.

I was promised a camera to be shipped out last Friday, now after 5 days.I have been told that there is no camera in stock.
5 days.5 different stories. First, it will be shipped on Friday.Second day.we dont ship on Saturday, Monday we dont have camera in stock and today, we have to wait for few more days to process.
I used gopro 7 Black.useless camera and wanted to upgrade it.
Now I think I will just use my Samsung phone
By far the worst company to buy from. People are correct to be dissapointed. They offer only chat support. Their options for replacement and refund are for laughter. Please stay away before it is too late. Caution! I have bought the go pro 8 a few days ago. So dissapointed i dont want to loose any more time uploading documents about them.
BEWARE GoPro Subscriptions! Signed up for a 1-year subscription that I cancelled the same day it renewed. GoPro still charged my account multiple times. Customer Service? Unhelpful, hiding behind 'company policy'. Their 'benefits'? Not used once! Don't be their next victim, your money deserves better respect! #GoProRipOff
The GoPro Hero 10 is a complete waste of money that is not fit for purpose. I've had two cameras, both exhibiting the same fault regardless of settings or media used. (stopping recording after a few seconds or up to a few minutes) GoPro are refusing to refund.
Good luck contacting support, you can't have any sort of dialogue. You can't respond to their emails and ther phone and chat operators aren't authorised to do anything or technical enough to resolvce issues.
It's a terrible way to treat customers. I have been buying GoPro for years but I will never buy one again.
GoPro used to be good but lately they will not support their own cameras. Just look at the people complaining about not being able to like to an Android 12 phone! When I contacted them about this they just said to buy another one. What? Why would anyone ever buy another GoPro product with an attitude like that? How could anyone ever trust a GoPro product again?
GoPro has quite the scam going on. Apparently you buy a go pro and automatically get signed up for the subscription. A year later, they charge you a renewal fee that they refuse to refund. Be warned. Extremely disappointed. I've never used the subcription - didn't even know I had it!
The absolute evil/worst out there. Almost 2 months, the money gone, the package lost, the costumer service the worst of all. Id rather die then ever looking back at the worst capital corporate gopro. Get a way from this miserable empire
