I use godaddy as host for my store website as well as domain and for over 2 years there's issues with server platforms, etc. Instead of head office listen to the thousands of customers complaining regarding same or similar issues, they choose to ignore, and service kept getting worse, while price increases, and more marketing campaigns, even though product services are not reliable. My business had suffered in more ways than one because of Godaddy technical issues.
Support level -10: you get India, Philippines, etc.
Hosting? Don't touch it! No wonder they took support phone number off their website where used to be on top menu! I been a client for 20+ years now.
They used to be "OK: for domains when stated, since than, they got totally woke company (just look at their promotions effort target!) and their quality dropped to bottom while prices got higher
Appalling service, horrible people hiding behind policies, they are scammers. Make sure you read the small print and understand before signing up to their products. I was conned into continuing paying for a service that I don't need. This was advised by one of their advisors in customer service. Imagine subscribing for a product for a year and not needing it, paying 29.99? I am quite upset. No apology, and hiding begins their refund policies. A terrible, terrible, company!
Unhelpful, robotic staff, reading through scripts.
Absolute rubbish, wished I could rate you zero.
Extended hold times on average 30 minutes and that's what they estimate. It's actually much longer than that, and then you're connected to someone with a lousy attitude and no understanding of anything. I took all my domains away except the one I need because it's attached to my business email. If I could give zero stars I would.
After speaking to a manager of GoDaddy's customer support, I am disgusted. Being mocked when requesting for a refund, I must say the company's reps can be very rude. And there refund policy is a sham, as one has only 5 days to return a domain. Seriously, if you're a company giving your customers a 5-day return policy, then you can care less about customer satisfaction. There are plenty of businesses out there, like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which offer great refund policies, with no time restrictions. Businesses, like GoDaddy, that rely solely on ecommerce, need to be monitored more closely, as there refund policies are not at all catered to the customer. All in all, GoDaddy has bad customer service.
I have never written a review before - but must say GoDaddy's customer services is absolutely pitiful. I have been waiting 10 days for a resolution to get my domain transferred and every day was told someone would call me back. After 10 days they finally did it, and didn't transfer the hosting with the domain. Now my website is down, my business is taking losses, and no one will help or pick up the phone.
Shame on you and your company for how you treat your customers.
My website has been down for nearly 3 months. Go Daddy repeatedly acknowledged that this was their fault, but refused to refund any of the money that I had paid for the site and services. I wasted over 40 minutes on the phone with customer service today, and got nowhere! I was actually told that I would not be allowed to speak with a supervisor! This was the worst customer service experience I have endured in years!
There are so many other option, please think twice before choosing Go Daddy. When you factor in the website down time, pathetic customer service, and hours of frustration, it's just not worth it!
I transferred all my domains here. They are usually a little bit more, but their customer service is always available.
My previous registrar was shady and never responded. And if they did It took weeks.
If you're looking for easy, inexpensive domains and simple hosting, GoDaddy is your friend. Their employees and quite knowledgeable and helpful. If you need advanced or high-volume hosting, probably not the place to be. But, I'm happy to have nearly 200 domains with them, mostly hosted elsewhere.

I have been trying to cancel My GoDaddy for over two years now, each year they still billing me for services I no longer need. Each time you try to cancel they will run through a number of hoops until they say they no longer offer a refund but offer a discount for next years renewals as compensation?! The Cancellation system is also designed in a way so each step takes 24 hours or 48 hours so you run out of time/ patience or you spend hours talking to their Indian call centers until you no longer have the energy to fight. You also have to start all over each time because "They don't have any records of any prior conversation" So far I have provided copy of my passports. Signing up with 2way authentication Requesting new pins. Still ho cancellation or refund in sight.
Currently I have filled Consumer claim against them for the money they have taken without my permission. It will be a long process. Stay away!
For $2,500 GoDaddy will design your company website and supposedly make changes periodically throughout the year. They basically took my current web site, which I was wanting to improve upon and they moved pictures around and made it look worse and more difficult to navigate. When I followed up asking for someone to deliver what I was promised, they basically said I was out of luck. They might be a decent hosting company, but don't pay them to do anything beyond that.
Still really fed up with these guys who turn a professional service into a money grabbing exercise. Every time you try and navigate they greet you with a request to upgrade, buy, change something which as you guessed, will cost $$.
They are real sharks and their attitude is if you don't like it, don't bother. Even their management area is a nightmare always trying to stop you transferring domains away and stalling the process. Quite a horrible american company to deal with. Ugh.
Go Daddy is more like poop daddy! They are awful for hosting and spare no cheapness in overall layout options. Not to mention their poor support and hidden fees. If your hosting through them you have to pay for each additional page you want to add. I definitely would recommend anything other than GoDaddy. It stands for Go get your money dumb Daddy cause we want it all. Oh and never give them an e-mail address, that is bad, very bad!
I was promised a refund nine days ago. It still has not materialized. Talked to several different representatives from the company on the phone, got three different stories/excuses. At least one of the customer service reps simply lied to me. They refuse to check with their ACH processor who obviously screwed up the refund. Keep telling me that it is my problem to correct. I don't like having my time wasted and I really don't like being lied to. I will be transferring all of my accounts from this company asap.
I don't know where to begin. Not enough character space to cover it all. Just move on to another service. The scheduled calls with a person from the design center...its a different person each time and some are quick ad seem to know what they are doing...some are old retired codgers who stumble around. I did several hours worth of work editing my site, then had the scheduled call with some guy who kept telling me how he was impressed with all the changes I had made. Two days later I get an email my site is ready to review. ALL my editing was gone. I could go on...but just save your self some time and get a service that has a person assigned to you from the "design team". Good luck
So they renewed my subscription (which i forgot i even had) and took money from my account without my permission whenever I tried calling they putme on hold for half hour then someone either directly cuts me off or answers and says they can't hear me this happened to me 5 times this evening and I have no issue with my phone calling anywhere else. One girl said she would call me back and she never did. There's no way for me to contact them about getting a refund. They took the last of the money from my account I'm so upset and frustrated!
The issues I had with my Wordpress' Hosting were complex, but they were created by the GoDaddy team of technicians. Long story short: Ive been locked out of my WP Dashboard (giving me a 503 Error) for over a week. I'm in constant contact with their "Support" and they still haven't fixed any of my problems that they created. It's frustrating. To the point where they create tickets and close them as "resolved" when the problem still exists. What a waste of time and money. Never again. Don't build on their servers, build on a local agency's server that has customer care that has a name and a face. If you have a problem with these guys, your screwed, you're on your own, without a website that you are still paying for.
Did not build the site correctly after paying over $3,000! Took months for them to get even the basic things done properly. ZERO customer service. Whenever I am fortunate to finally reach someone after hours on hold or waiting for a call back they all say the same thing "sorry that's not my department". Then they continue to send me emails telling things are fixed when nothing has been done. I have not been able to access my godaddy payments for 3 days. Their 24/7 site support is actually Mon-Fri and only during certain hours. Been chatting, texting, emailing - nothing has been done except for me wasting my time. I'm begging you to find another website developer and host. Basic things that you find on thousands of e-commerce sites they tell you they are unable to do. Been over a year and they have continued to prove they care nothing about their clients or their clients business.
The site itself frustrates the hell out of me, but their customer service should be the model for all businesses to follow. Amazing. When I was building a web site for the first time using their software, and feeling like an idiot despite years of graphic design experience, tech support was very helpful, friendly, and not at all condescending or patronizing. They were very thorough and spent a lot of time answering my questions, very patiently. If I enjoyed the actual web design program they use, and if their site was generally more user-friendly, I would happily give it 5 stars.
They hijack domains and hold them hostage. I tried to transfer away from them. They say turn off the privacy. No problem. I tried to update the e-mail contact but their system said error organization is invalid. So to save the e-mail, I had to change the name of organization too. Now there's a 60 day transfer lock because organization was changed. Domain expires a week before the lock ends. Avoid this company. They are like the mafia.
Each department in their customer no-service keeps passing me off to another as well.
Answer: Do not use this company. Go daddy excessive fees, will keep adding fees claiming lack of security, and also has a policy that will ask for private information such as passport, license if you ever change your phone number even though they will talk to you on the phone.
Answer: We offer an easy to use E-Commerce website builder. Here is a link where you can sign up for a free trial: https://www.godaddy.com/websites/online-store
Answer: Did you have any luck with this. We have been ripped off by them for 4 years and have only just succeeded in closing the account. Thanks for posting.
